The film begins by showing some children who were watching TV. They were watching a very popular show, Pehle Tabeez, and then they heard the sound of some people screaming. They were also very scared.
As soon as they realized that the children were hearing their voices, one of the men immediately came and slammed the door shut. Seeing this, the children did not understand anything. They just kept looking at each other in confusion.
At that moment, a woman came in, carrying a little girl in her hands. She left the girl with this group and told the children not to go out of this room no matter what happens. She did not give any reason; she just checked the locks there. When she felt that everything was fine, she immediately left from there.
Once again, strange sounds started coming from outside, like the sound of breaking glass and screams and many more. The children were shocked. They tried their best to remain absolutely silent. One of the children slowly went towards the door to find out what had happened. Then he heard someone trying to enter. And then suddenly the door opened loudly and an infected person, i.e., zombie, came inside.
The children got very scared. They had become numb due to fear. The child who went near the door's condition worsens. He just watches the creatures attack. Then he falls. He sees his mother outside and runs towards her. But as soon as his mother sees a zombie, she immediately closes the door so that nothing happens to the child.
Scared, the boy ran upstairs, but there were many infected people there too. There was no safe place left anywhere. His own house was also surrounded by these zombies. He runs very fast due to the chaos. He falls, stumbles, but does not stop. After which he stops in front of an old church.
It is revealed that the name of this child is Timmy. After which he comes inside with heavy breath. He sees that his dad is standing there, who is the priest of the church. It seemed as if he was waiting for this only. There was no fear in him. He stood very calm. The child tries to tell his dad whatever he saw. But his dad stops him in between and says that I know everything and have also confessed this thing. Then he takes out his rosary and gives it in the child's hand and tells him to hide.
The child obeys him and hides, and then many zombies break the door and enter inside quickly. The priest does not move at all. He stood there. Then the zombies bite him too, and now he too had become infected like them. The child who was hiding is waiting for the right time. Then he immediately comes out from there and runs away from there without looking towards the church. He was holding the rosary tightly, as if this was his last hope.
Then it is told that this zombie virus named Rage virus spread in this way and it has engulfed the whole country. Then Europe isolated the whole island. A strict lockdown was imposed. No one can come in or go out. 28 years pass like this. The survivors are living their lives with great difficulty.
From one of those small outposts, a father wakes up his son. He says that son, today is a big day. The son, whose name is Spike, immediately gets up and picks up his bag. The rest of the people are also doing the same, that is, they are getting ready. Everyone has something in their hands which they have made themselves. All these are weapons, like spear, knife, and bow and arrow. But there is no gun here. All are their handmade things, which are pointing towards the old times. This also shows how well they live with very few things.
Here Spike has a bow and arrow, a sharp dagger, and a doll which he always keeps well. Although it was not going to be useful in the fight, it is a piece of the old world which he does not want to leave. Spike goes to the kitchen, where his father's partner, who was also their neighbor, was an old man. He is waiting for him for breakfast. Then he hears the voice of his mother, who is ill.
His father, whose name is Jamie, goes towards his wife's room. Spike also follows him. Mom says sorry that I disturbed her. She hugs Spike and says that she has been having a lot of headache since morning. She tries to stay strong, but weakness is clearly visible on her face. Jamie explains the plan that they are leaving this land. Mom nervously says that our son is only 12 years old. He himself is also not well. But Jamie does not listen to a single word of her and he leaves the room.
While Spike stays with mom for a little while more. He tries to calm his mom down as best as he could, like his dad could never calm her down. Now, before leaving from here, Spike gives his mom something to eat wrapped in a handkerchief and lies to her that he is going to school. That is why she believes him.
Before leaving the village, his neighbor gives Spike his first bow. It is not just a weapon but a mark. It was an indication that Spike is going to do something big now. When Spike and his dad Jamie leave the village, people come out of their houses and start shouting to encourage them. No one was laughing. Everyone was serious because everyone knew that this is a mission. There is a lot of risk in it, and there is a reason behind it.
When they reach the gate where the safe zone ends and the real world begins, the community leader comes. "If you go to the mainland, there will be no chance of coming back because no one will come to save you. Many people have gone there before you, but no one has come back alive."
Then they discover a secret path in the middle of the sea. That path becomes visible only when the sea level recedes, and now they start walking on that path. After some time, they cross that path in the sea and reach the mainland where they had to go, which was their destination. But as soon as the water level rises, that path becomes silent again. That means no one can cross it in this condition.
As they move forward, they hear a strange song and then they see a lot of infected zombies which looked very scary because their bones were protruding out, the skin was badly pulled, and the eyes were also very drawn. And these are the creatures that Spike has to face. His mission is very clear. He had to bring down an infected, which would be a test that would prove that he is ready.
Jamie tells Spike, "You have to be fast. Without fear, and your aim should hit the right spot." Both of them move forward. Their every step was putting more weight on Spike. After which, moving forward, they see their first target: a very slow-moving, fat zombie which crawls, and this is the time to show how strong Spike is. Its stoutness was very thick, and it moves very strangely. It pulls itself as if it is a very big snake. Spike immediately takes out an arrow and kills it, which hits it directly on its neck, and it falls down in a dead state.
Meanwhile, many more zombies come there. They were also very slow, and their number is increasing. The ground does not move. He has seen this before, and now he starts killing all the zombies one by one very comfortably. And now the real shock comes to them when they see an infected child. It retreats because no one wanted to fight that infected child. But here Spike starts thinking that I have killed the other zombies, which is not a small thing either. A kind of confidence has come inside him. The reason for this was also that his dad was with him.
Both of them move ahead again to go inside the male boy. Further ahead, they find an old house. They think that they might find something inside that can be useful. Thinking this, both of them go inside. But the atmosphere suddenly changes. In a room, a man is hanging upside down, and crows are eating him. Some words were written on his chest which together form a name: Jamie.
Jamie tells his son, "Most of the people on the mainland are not good because many people become cruel and dreadful after living alone and losing everything, and they do such things that we cannot even imagine. Such things that scare a person even in his dreams." The message of this hanging man is very clear. He was hanged like this deliberately.
Without blinking an eye, Jamie tells Spike to kill him. "I am not saying this for our safety, but this is how you will learn how to survive in these conditions. There is no scope for any hesitation here. There is no second chance. Living here means not only facing the infected but also facing even more terrifying things." Spike hesitated for just a moment. Then he directly hit the arrow on the man's head, killing him.
After finishing this work, Spike and Jamie move forward again. She was taking every step very carefully as she went further inside the mainland. Then she sees that the severed head of a deer is hanging, and the rest of its body is lying there in a badly cut and torn condition. From this, she understood that this is not the work of any ordinary zombies but of zombies infected with the Rage virus. They are called Alpha Zombies, and they are very smart and can think. Along with this, they are also very angry like madmen. That means they are much better than normal zombies.
Knowing this, both father and son got very scared. They had sensed the danger. That is why they ran as fast as they could to get out of there. They see Alpha from a distance, in which there is not just one but a whole group of Alpha zombies coming towards them, due to which they got very scared. Jamie pulls Spike close and makes a plan, which was a common plan but could be very beneficial. He says that "we have to run and keep shooting. We should not stop so that these zombies do not overpower us." Obviously, it is a great battle full of anxiety for their survival, where every moment is very important.
But Spike gets completely scared. He loses control. That is why despite having a lot of training, he is not able to make a single attack properly because the pressure on him is so much that fear overpowers him. The problem was that the infected were rapidly approaching them in the form of a swarm. And now Jamie and Spike have to respond to the attack with whatever means they find. But there are so many zombies that the whole situation goes out of control.
In panic, Jamie and Spike run back to the old house with great difficulty and enter inside with great difficulty. They had locked themselves in the attic. They pulled out all the outside things, furniture, whatever they could find, and put them on the doors and windows. In a way, they created a protective barrier. Meanwhile, the alpha zombies were watching them from the nearby hill. They too had realized the danger from their presence, and due to no other way, they decide to spend the night here in the attic till the situation comes under control because both of them know that going back to the island right now is not without any danger because the danger is so high that if they try to leave now, they will die.
Then as it becomes dark, they see the bonfire burning. Spike asks, "What is all this about?" Jamie says, "Even I don't know. Although I have come here before, but I have no idea about this situation." Meanwhile, Spike has a nightmare. He sees that his mother is drowning in the water. The scene was so scary that his soul trembles. He wakes up suddenly, but they have to face another big danger.
Now, because that house was very old and broken, a part of it suddenly falls right under their feet. Then with great difficulty, they get out on time, and now they are forced to think that they have to go back to the island as soon as possible. It was their good luck that the secret path was visible in the middle of the sea, and now both father and son start walking back quickly without losing time. But they did not realize that Alpha is very fast, and he was keeping an eye on their every move, and now a zombie Alpha who was chasing them starts coming towards them at full speed. Seeing this, their tension increased so much that both of them run at full speed inside the island to save their lives.
Both of them reach just in time and also succeed in sending a signal to the tower for help. As soon as their signals are received, the community immediately showers a lot of arrows on Alpha. They try to stop him. But this does not make any difference to Alpha, and now when they shoot the burning arrow at him, it hits him directly, due to which this monster is finally killed, and the whole community breathes a sigh of relief.
When Spike returns, there is a celebration in joy. Everyone praises him because he went out of the island for the first time on a mission to kill zombies and returned alive. Jamie also praises his son's bravery. He tells every little detail of their mission trip and how Spike handled things when things got very dangerous. He was proud of his son. He wanted everyone to know how brave and intelligent his son is.
But in the middle of the party, Spike sees something that shocks him. He sees that his dad has secretly left with another woman. He feels bad and sad. He does not know what he should do, and now he goes back home alone without saying anything.
When he reaches home, his neighbor is already waiting for Spike. Seeing him, the neighbor immediately understands that something is wrong, and he tries to calm Spike down. Spike tells him that he is very worried about his mother, but instead of getting better, she is getting worse day by day. She is getting sicker, and this thing is breaking Spike from inside.
Then the neighbor tells him about a doctor who was once famous for his abilities and who could have helped Spike's mom. But that doctor got separated from everyone years ago. He disappeared completely. Now, when Spike tells him about the bonfire that was burning in the attic, the neighbor's eyes are wide open after hearing this. He says that if that fire is still burning, it means that the doctor is still alive there. That means that Spike's mom still has a chance that she can get well. If he finds the doctor.
Then the next morning, Jamie returns home in a drunken state, and Spike, who had been tolerating everything silently, bursts out today. He gets angry at Jamie, saying, "You are cheating on mom because I have seen your affair with another woman. You also kept this thing hidden that the doctor is still alive there." Jamie finally accepts it. Yes, he met the doctor years ago on the mainland. The doctor was in his uniform, and I saw him surrounded by a lot of dead bodies. It seemed as if some experiment was going on. He says that the scene was so strange that I had decided never to go there again.
But Spike has already decided that he will take his mom straight to that doctor, no matter how many warnings or fears come in his way. On top of that, he also directly tells his dad to back off. "Leave me alone." Then Spike takes out a knife to threaten his dad. But Jamie, who is stronger, takes the knife from him without any difficulty. He did not punish his son and quietly leaves from there.
Meanwhile, Spike makes a plan that he will set fire to the things in the community so that a big destruction happens. Then the smoke and chaos give him the best opportunity to secretly leave with his mom towards the mainland. He leaves from there with his mom from Deji. His mother was battling her illness. When she realized where she was, she panicked. But Spike consoled her and said that everything will be fine. Her only wish is to reach the doctor so that her mother can get well.
As soon as night came, she stops at a place to take a break. But that very night, a strange zombie, which crawls like a joint, that means its size is very big, stealthily comes very close. When he is about to attack Spike, who was fast asleep, his mother comes just in time and attacks the zombie and kills it, and in this way, Spike's life is saved.
Meanwhile, in another part of the mainland, a group of soldiers is trying to escape from the zombie. A new Alpha was following them. They were so scared that the soldiers keep falling one by one. The zombies attack them in a dangerous way from which they are unable to escape, and in the end, only one survivor remains who was left all alone. Although he was injured, he was barely alive. After this, we come to know that one of the zombie women is pregnant.
Spike and his mother continue their journey to the mainland. Sometimes their journey is also dangerous, due to which his sick mother starts getting strange thoughts. Coming out of these thoughts, she is immersed in deep thoughts. She remembers the small moments of her life, the time when the zombie virus did not come. From a distance, Spike sees another zombie who is dragging himself, and this zombie was dragging himself like a dragon. Spike, without thinking, shoots an arrow and kills him. But the sound of his fall was so loud that the attention of the other zombies nearby immediately goes towards him.
Within a few seconds, Spike and his mom are chased by a group of zombies who were coming very fast and soon reach close to them. Now they start looking for a place to hide and enter a gas station which has been empty for years. This whole place was filled with gas, and it was difficult to even breathe. The situation worsens when zombies start entering the station. Just when it seems that everything will end now, a soldier suddenly arrives. He sets fire to the infected, and at the last moment, Spike and his mom's life is saved. He tells them that "I somehow survived. But at the same time, he gives bad news that once you step on the island, it is not only difficult to get back but also impossible. The roads are full in their sight. Then they cannot cross it at all. There is no way to return."
When the three of them move forward, Spike's mother feels a little better, and then they see a train in front. Coming inside, they see here is the pregnant zombie woman that we saw earlier in Spike. She was sitting quietly and looked like a ghost. Spike's mom decides that they will help her in giving birth to the child. Soon she gives birth to a baby girl who was quite healthy, and now the zombie woman wakes up and attacks them. Then the soldier kills the zombie woman without wasting any time.
The soldier tells Spike's mom to leave the child. "This is a monster and can prove to be a danger for us." But Spike's mom takes care of him with the belief that the child cannot harm us. Then another Alpha comes and attacks the soldier brutally and tears off his head. Seeing this, both mother and son immediately run away from there. However, the creature chases them. Just as they are about to be caught, suddenly the same doctor appears. He shoots directly at the Alpha, killing him.
And now the doctor brings Spike and his mom to his secret hideout, which was in the middle of the forest. Then the doctor shows them all his things. He also starts rubbing iodine on his body. The doctor says that "iodine acts as a protective barrier because the virus cannot tolerate it at all. This thing is poison for it. I do this every day. That is why I have survived till now." Then the doctor gives them the soldier's head and tells them to keep it in that strange pyramid where the rest of the heads are lying. Then Spike agrees to what he says.
Then the doctor starts checking the baby and informs that the baby is not infected. He becomes very happy because he liked this discovery a lot. After this, he starts checking Spike's mom. He is looking at her carefully, and the expressions on his face suddenly become serious. After a tense silence, the doctor finally speaks. He gives the news that Spike's mom's illness has increased a lot. The virus has destroyed both her body and mind. Spike's mom has cancer, and her condition is very bad. He says that it started in the brain. It is spreading throughout the body and slowly breaking her from the inside. It is not clear where all this started. But one thing is for sure, which is very bad news: there is no cure for this disease. No matter how much effort one makes, no one can cure her disease even a little.
Spike expects the doctor to save his mom. But his mom had been feeling deep inside for a long time that she is going to die. She accepts that bitter truth and decides that she will face death and not run away. Because everyone has to die one day, which is the reality. During this time, Spike was made unconscious. He was given an injection so that he does not see his mom dying in front of his eyes because perhaps he will not be able to bear the pain.
When he finally wakes up, everything is over. But Spike is not left empty-handed. The doctor gives him his mom's head. Then Spike places his mother's head near the pyramid as a mark of respect because this was his way of saying a goodbye to his mother. Then Alpha, the most dangerous zombie creature, loses control and is ready to attack the doctor. But Spike immediately comes and stops Alpha by giving her one of the doctor's injections and saves the doctor's life at the last moment.
The doctor looks into Spike's eyes and says that it is time to move on. Both of them try to reach their area with the baby. After reaching there, she leaves the baby near the community. There was also a note with it on which there is a final goodbye. The baby is welcomed well and is named after his mother.
Jamie tries to reach Spike. But the wave is so high that he cannot cross. Meanwhile, when Spike is fishing alone, an infected person secretly comes to him. Spike kills him immediately. But then more zombies come there. When they surround Spike, someone comes there who is none other than Jamie. The same child whom we saw in the beginning. But now he has grown up and has become the leader of an entire community. Jamie encourages Spike by saying that he survived and offers him to become a part of his community. Spike agrees to this, and both of them move forward for their mission, and with this, the film ends here.
