Ever wonder why Riot called Venom a traitor? Traitor.
During their fight, Riot actually killed Eddie and had the perfect chance to destroy Venom, too. But instead, he just walked away, leaving Venom behind. Strange, right? Especially since Riot knew Venom could still revive Eddie.
Turns out Riot wasn't being careless. He understood something deeper. After Venom the last dance, it all makes sense. Long ago, when the symbiots turned against their god, Null, they trapped him and created one sacred rule. No symbiot can bring a dead host back to life because if they do, a codeex forms, and that could help free Null.
So, Riot left Eddie for dead, trusting Venom to follow the code. But Venom didn't. He revived Eddie, breaking the ancient rule and putting every symbiot in danger just to save one human. That's why Riot called him a traitor.
