Hi, I thought since there was so much interest shown in learning a little bit about more about AI and becoming comfortable with it, we'd do a little walk through today, a little demonstration to show how you can use it for good for your own purposes to help you. It's not going anywhere.
Most everybody watching this channel remembers a time long before iPhones and computers, internet, all of that. You know, I still love my red phone over here. But we're not back in the 70s, 80s, 60s, 50s, none of that. It's not going anywhere. So, let's make it work for us. Let's reclaim some of our power. I'm Pam Nugget is here with us today and let's take a little trip down AI lane. Okay.
Now, there are many choices which AI you want to use. If you start out with one, you're going to basically get comfortable with almost all of them. So, let's just start with basic chat GPT. Okay, I put a guide at solo half uh soloscalf.com. You can download some guides that may help you with recognizing fake stuff and starting with AI. So, you can put chatgpt up here in your um address bar. You're going to come here. Now, I have an account. I happen to have one I pay for, but let's not worry about that. Free account. You cannot sign up for an account if you're not comfortable, but there's some advantages to having an account. It will remember your chats, um, all kinds of things. But let's start with the most basic. Okay.
So, get into say chat GPT. You go here. Now the most important thing I can tell you I would want to impart to anybody is to feel comfortable to get comfortable to not be afraid. This is just a tool. It works for us. Okay? It's ours. It doesn't own us. It's not going to trick us. So, when you get in here, if you never used it, you need to talk to it like it's a human. They call these things prompt, but we're not into any technical stuff today, okay? You don't need to know it. I fly on planes. I don't know how the hell they stay up in the air and go from place to place, okay? But I use them.
Now, you can come in here. The most basic thing, let's start out with typing. You can do voice, but let's start out with typing. All right. You can say, "I am afraid of AI. I'm a beginner." How do I use this? You could even say, "I'm 85. Explain simply." Explain like a child or simply. How's that? Explain simply. You press enter key or you can go over here and hit the little arrow and let's see what it tells us. Okay, the thing is nice. Sometimes honestly it's more patient and nice than human beings. The best part you do not have to be afraid of feeling stupid. Like with humans, I think we all are like, "Oh gosh, I can't ask that question." They say, "Oh, there's no such thing as a stupid question." Then they think you're stupid. AI doesn't think anything. All right.
So, it comes back with and you can do this at home and I and I suggest you do because it can help with a lot. We're going to give you some examples and show you things completely normal to feel nervous about AI, especially when you're first hearing about it. Keep it real simple and practical. What is it? It's like a smart computer helper. It can read, write, talk, answer questions. Doesn't have feelings, thoughts, intentions. It simply responds to what you ask like a fast librarian. Okay. What can you use it for? Health and food questions, recipes, write letters, plan a trip, images, all kinds of stuff. But it can walk you through. Okay.
I want y'all to give it if you're interested. Give it a try. Don't be afraid. You can't hurt it. You can't break it. Nothing is going to happen. You can type whatever you want in here. You can even see it's telling you step by step what to do. At any point, any little thing you don't understand, just ask it. You could say, "Talk to me like I'm a child, like I'm a kindergartener." Okay, if you want to know, typing down here, I think my screen might be cut off, but I'm typing down here. Um, how does AI work simply? I'll put that in there. Hold on. Let me see if I can make this screen bigger. I don't know if I can. Maybe I can. I type in there. How does AI work simply? Okay.
Basic idea. AI is a computer program. It learned a lot from examples. Doesn't think, doesn't feel, does not know things the way humans do. Looks for patterns. They train it on massive amounts of data, books off the web, uh, all kinds of data piled in there and it learned patterns. Just like if I say to you peanut butter, a whole mess of associations are going to come up to that. Probably jelly is going to be your next word. I think of like childhood sandwiches, my mom in the kitchen making me peanut butter and jelly, taking my bag lunch to grade school. AI learns all of those types of associations and patterns and that's how it's able to interact with us just to take away some of the mystery. You don't need to know that. Who cares really, but in case you do. So, this can explain to you everything like that.
Now, here's something pretty cool, right? You can use it to learn anything you want. You can ask it the most basic things. Now, down here in the um little chat area, let me see if I can move this up. You know what? Let me do this because I don't like how this is uh Let's see if we can resize this. Okay. I think you can see better now. So you can say, for example, if you want to really get fancy, play around, use this little plus and you can add files and photos. So if I go here, for example, it's my dog's blood work. Not my dogs actually, my my brother's dog. My brother's dog has urinary tract infection. These are his blood results. Now listen, you could put your pet's stuff in there. You could put yours if you just want a little more intera information, a double-checking kind of thing. AI is not always perfect. Either are humans. It's a tool. Okay.
So, this is the dog's blood work. It has a urinary infection. If you were going to put yours in there, I would just trim the photo. So, it doesn't have your name or anything, but you can put I just want to demonstrate what this can do. Now say my dog's blood work. What do you think? What do you see? I don't know. Can you explain this? Oh my gosh. I can't type and talk, guys, at the same time. Uh here we go. Can you explain this? And let's just say I'm going to say go do it. I'm going to explain this in very simple, clear terms. Thank you. It's a analysis, not blood work. Oh, yeah. See, human screwing up right there. Tells the vet what's happening with your dog's urinary systems. Most important things here. Urine's red, cloudy, there's blood in the urine. Gives a hemoglobin, red blood cells, very high. Common causes, bladder inflammation, urinary tract, trauma. This is an older dog that's got a UTI. very high white cell count, protein, bacteria, other results. Billy Rubin, it's all basic stuff. It can help you though. And honestly, from what the vet said, everything this is saying is completely accurate. And I'm not saying ever to rely on AI.
But another thing, one time I um was having panic attacks, so my doctor sent me to the cardiologist just to get a checkup and I had never been to a cardiologist. I was scared. You can get some basic tips on something like that. I have I have a cardiologist cardiologist appointment. I'm scared. I'm getting an echo. I'm not even spelling right here. I can't spell spell and talk. I'm getting an ech uh e echo cardiogram. Can I have some info? Just, you know, you're going to get better at talking with this thing. Yes. Very normal to feel nervous. Uh good news is echo cardiograms. One of the safest, easiest tests you can have. What is an echo cardiogram? I didn't know. This thing helped me. Cuz let's face it, doctors don't have much time to talk to us. But you should always check everything with a professional. It's harmless. Sound waves. Takes pictures of your heart. No radiation, no needles, no pain. What it looks like. Oh, wow. Okay. What happens during the test step by step? Oh, wow. Okay. 20 to 25 minute. Does it hurt? No. Why doctors order an echo? Check your heart valve strength. Look at heart valves. Investigate shortness of breath. chest pain, panic attack. Thank God that's all it is. Um, just to rule things out. Exactly. Most important reassurance is very common, very safe. All of that I can explain. You see, it's just a tool to help you. Okay, this is like a medical type use.
Another thing, say um you live in an apartment and your landlord stinks and you you've had a running toilet for five months. He's not fixing it and you want to get tougher. You can't afford a lawyer. Let's see if AI can help us out. You may want to say, um, I rent an apartment. Oh gosh, I am sorry that I cannot type, talk, and think. Rent an apartment. Oh my gosh. apartment and uh I need to write to my landlord because my toilet is is running for five months. Five months. He hasn't fixed it. I live in New Jersey. That's important because New Jersey has different laws. Everybody, every state has different laws. I live in New Jersey. So, those I'm just going to say that the bot knows. Can you write me a letter? Can you write me a letter? Let's see. All right. We don't need a lawyer for something basic. Or at least maybe someday we will. But this is a start. Let's see what this comes up with. Look how dang quick. My gosh. I can't even type and talk or uh Okay, look how formal. Nuggets back here scratching. Boy, stop. Um, I'm writing to uh formally notify you about ongoing maintenance issue on my apartment. The toilet unit has been continuously running blah blah. This look at this. This issue is not only inconvenient, but it is also likely causing unnecessary water usage, higher utility costs. Under New Jersey tenant landlord laws, landlords are responsible for maintaining plumbing and ensuring the expensial essential fixtures are in proper working order. I respectfully request the repair be done. Blah blah. You see it very professional, sharp, not fighting, not uh you know confrontational. It's just please fix my toilet.
Now, you can do this and then if you say, "Well, how do I get it out of here?" You can copy and paste it and put it into a Word document. Here's the copying. And you could throw it in there. Or if you really want to be fancy, you can say, "Can you put this in a Word document?" Right? In case you want to get it in there and print it out. Let's see if it yells at us or if it doesn't. I think it's going to do it real quick. Um, I hope you're getting a little taste of how easy this can be and how helpful it can do so much. We can do more videos uh talking about this kind of stuff. If you're interested, my channel solo second half, so we talk about all kinds of things here that help all of us people, especially in the second half. Look at this thing. Your word doc is ready. There you go. You can open it. Look, it's I mean, right at your fingertips, you've got your own um what do you call? Look at that. Right there. I mean, in seconds, minutes. Unbelievable. You've got your own private super brilliant helpful helper right at your fingertips.
Okay. Another thing it can do, um you can ask it whatever questions you want. I want you to be comfortable and play around with it whatever you want. Okay. Another little thing I'm going to show, I believe this only comes uh when you sign up for an account. There's no harm in doing that. I don't believe I know many people are scared of privacy. The truth is in this world, right, I see so many people say, "I don't want to uh do my banking or buy anything in line. I'm scared." It's 2026. All of our information is on computers, big computers all around the world. If you have a bank account, a mortgage, a credit card, anything, a driver's license, your information stored on computers all over the place. Nefarious nefarious people want to get into those big computers in general. Okay? But oh, be safe, but don't be scared. find the balance that you're comfortable with. All right.
Um, another little feature, this voice feature. You see this little squiggly down here? You press there and then you can talk to it. You don't have to um, type all the time. So, let's try that. Hi, I'm alone at night and I'm a feeling a little anxious and stressed out. I was watching the news and I'm scared from seeing everything that's going on with um Nancy uh Guthrie being missing. I'm afraid that could happen to me and I'm I'm just having trouble settling down and sleeping. It's thinking. Let's see what it comes back with. It can help. Let's check it out. It's thinking. See this? This means it's >> I'm really sorry you're feeling that way. >> Nights can make everything feel bigger, especially after watching upsetting news. >> When you're alone and your mind starts running, it's easy to imagine the worst case scenarios. First, just slow things down a little. Take a slow breath in through your nose for about 4 seconds. Hold it for two, then let it out slowly through your mouth for six. Do that a few times. It helps signal your body that you're safe. what you're feeling is very normal. The news is designed to grab attention and it often focuses on rare, frightening events. Uh stories like that stick in our minds, but they are not common situations for most people. >> Your brain is just trying to protect you by imagining threats even when you're safe at home. Look around in space for a moment. >> You're inside. You're in your own home. The doors are locked. You're not in that situation on the news. Sometimes it helps to gently shift your focus away from the story >> and back into your real present environment. You might turn on a soft light or a lamp. Put on quiet music or a calm video. Sit with a warm drink. Um >> spend a few minutes with Nugget if he's nearby. Um also, it might be a good idea to turn the news off for the night. Um your system doesn't need more of that right before bed. If your mind keeps circling the fear, try this simple grounding exercise. name out loud or in your head. Five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell, one thing you can taste. It pulls your mind out of the fear loop and back into the present. >> You've handled a lot in life, and you're someone who plans, prepares, and thinks things through. You're not helpless, even if the news makes it feel that way in the moment. Are you in your living room or bedroom right now?
Okay, we ended that. But you can use that to uh talk. Now, um of course you can also these apps, the AI apps, you can put chat on your phone so that you always have it with you. You just go to the um what is it called? The app store on iPhones or Google Play, I think, and put chat GBT in there. Free to download. If you have your little account, you can sign in and use the voice right on your phone. anything like that. This thing can help with so many different problems issue. It can give a little emotional support, cheerleading. It's taught me how to do so much. Even like I started acrylic painting. I think I've got a picture on here. Let me show you another thing. I I think this is just fantastic. Fantastic. I don't know where the little I put a picture of ah here's one of my little acrylic painting pictures. Okay.
So, I'm going to put the picture right in here in chat. You can see what I'm doing. And I'm going to say this is one of my uh b first first acrylic paintings acrylic paintings. Can you give me tips? Let's see what it says. And it's usually nice. But that's my my little thing. See, it's say a this is really nice first acrylic painting. You've already done a few things very well, especially for someone early in the process. Thank you, bot. Nicer than any human half the time. what you're doing, right? Good color choices, nice sense of movement in the waves, simple, peaceful composition. Simple tips to improve your next one. Make the horizon line crisper. It's right. I should have used some tape to make it crisp. Drag a thin straight line. Keep it level. Crisp horizon. Add more contrast in the waves. Try this. Soften the clouds. Add a little shadow in the sand. It can help you with whatever you like. Like I could follow up. How can I make the How can I make the line make the horizon crisper? There we go. Let's see what what's it going to come back with. Yep. And you can interact with this thing just like that. Don't the the point here, don't the point here, don't be afraid, you know, give it a painters tape. Boom. Right there. It can help with all kinds of things. I hope that this um gives you guys a little bit more confidence to go out there and try it and help it and let it help you in your daily life with fun stuff, whatever you want.
I'm going to show you. You know what? Let me show you two more things. This video is getting long, but if you want to make a little image, you can go here, create image, and all the AI tools work roughly the same. So, let me have a um a p make a puppy puppy. Uh chasing. No. My gosh, you guys. I swear I can type. But chasing a kitten uh in the forest. We're just going to say that you can get as extreme as you want. There's all kinds of tools for creating images that are super good. Where's my English? But this is just going to create a little image right now for us. If you wanted to make something, a cartoon, something for crafting, you could print your image and put it on a card for child, grandkid, whatever. Look at that. in two seconds, you know. And you could even say something corny like um put a baseball hat hat on the dog and add a small rabbit in the picture. I don't know what's going to happen. We'll see. And you'll see sometimes this thing is horrible. it messes up. And other times it's like, oh my god, so amazing, so fast. Anybody can play with it. I just don't want anybody out there getting left behind and feeling lost. The more you feel like you're in control, the better you're going to feel, the more comfortable. Um Oh. Oh, I Okay, guys. This is seriously cute. I love that it put the baseball hat on backwards. It put the bunny in between. You could you could play around. There's so much that you can do.
Another thing, you know, we've talked a lot about the AI and how can I tell things are AI. You can you can ask this thing. It's going to tell on itself, okay? But you can take a picture. I took a picture of a a screenshot of a um of a video. Where is it? Um okay. So, this video and I know it's AI, but let's see if this thing tells the truth. Um I saw this on YouTube. YouTube. Is this AI? Let me see what it says. Is it going to tell on itself? I bet it is. It has no feelings. It doesn't care. It's not human. Humans not going to tell on themselves probably. But this thing, look at it. Looks like AI says it can't tell 100%. But um skin looks very um evenly detailed across the whole face. Real humans are like all over the place, you know? We're whatever. Um background blur. I got some background blur in this, but that's the uh the camera doing it. lighting. Yep. Yep. It's telling you the reasons why it thinks it's AI. Biggest clue isn't the face. The strongest sign is the message style. AI videos often feature an elderly person. Speak calmly. Talks about death, illness, regret, money. They're all cashing out on this. Kids in their mom's basement and stuff. So, quick rule of thumb, if you'd like, send me the video link or show more screenshots and I can help you learn more accurately. So you can you can go in there and grab the uh address of the YouTube video and say, "Hey, is this thing, you know, real or AI?"
The point here, you can do a lot with it. You can even tell it. I'm scared. There is so much fake content on YouTube. See what it says. I hope you're learning that you can be comfortable with it. You can use it. It's a very very very powerful tool. You can use it for budgeting, playing with the pictures, getting some second opinion or a shoot a drop jumping off place to help educate and learn about medical situations for you and your pet. Uh budgeting, diet stuff, whatever you can think of, you can talk to this thing. Just don't give a personal information. Oh my gosh. No numbers about your bank account or anything. You can help it uh prevent you getting ripped off. Like we all get these stupid emails saying, "Oh, your um Norton antivirus, you know, something's going on with it. Call us. Click here. Your Amazon account is whacked out. Click here. Don't ever click anything. And if you're in doubt, you can ask this thing. Should I do it?" It's going to freak out on you and tell you all the reasons why. No, don't do it. And how to stay safe. Okay.
Um, let's see. To the whole the reply about the fake YouTube content. Simple ways to stay calm about it. There you go. It's a good good tool. And the thing I was telling you about the the um thing I got the the letters, the emails. I got an email saying uh my Amazon is um compromised. It has a link. What should I do? Okay, let's say it can help keep you safe. You can't trust this thing a million%, but you can't trust humans a million% either. Do not click the link. Great advice. Do not click the link in the email. Scam emails try to steal your stuff, blah blah. Go to Amazon the safe way right here. Log into your account. That's the amazon.com. Go there and type it in. Check your account. Change your password to be extra safe. Signs of the email is a scam. They say your account's compromised or suspended. Create urgency. Have a button or link come from a strange email address. Simple rule to remember, never click.
Okay, so let's just end this today. I've been talking a long time, but I appreciate you being here. I hope this kind of stuff is really helpful. Um, let me know in the comments if there's anything else you'd like to talk about or learn. Um, this isn't necessarily a teaching channel or a tech channel or anything, but there seem to be a lot of interest. So, I'm just trying to help and put out there uh what I know and may be able to help with. So, from Nugget and I, uh, Nuggets crashed out and that's a good thing. Um, stay really safe and well out there. Here we are in 2026. Go forward. Be strong, curious, don't have to be afraid. Just regular caution, like anything in life, the way we've grown up, right? You're not going to a sketchy part of town in the middle of the night. Don't go to the uh AI sketchy part of town in the middle of the night. Especially not if you had a few. You know what I'm saying? All right, take good care. Thank you for being here. If you haven't and any of this is useful, please subscribe. Nugie and I are trying to get to 100,000. We've got of subscribers. We got a place on the wall up here for that plaque. I hope we get it. Thank you so much. Take good care.
