Peace and blessings. Welcome back to the channel once again. I'm Dr. Bobby Price, and today we're going to talk about the eight major causes of this testosterone crisis that we're experiencing today.

So, this is going to be a heavy conversation for my brothers out there. I'm going to be my brother's keeper today. And for my ladies out there, this video is for you, too. This video could help your father, your brother, your uncle, your boyfriend, your husband, or even your son because it's not just affecting, you know, one generation of men. This is affecting all the generations of men at this point.

And when I started to do the research and look back and start to move forward through the research, I realized that it is only getting worse. The example I have is when you look at the research and you go back and you look at our ancient ancestors, our ancient forefathers were walking around with a testosterone between 1000 and 500. Okay?

Now, when I explain to you what the functions of testosterone are, because most people don't know all of the functions, you'll understand that as we go through each decade and get into the 60s, we see this drop off. Okay? We see this huge drop off as we go into the 60s and food changes and then chemicals are introduced into the environment and so many other things that I'll mention today are happening that's causing this drop off.

So you go into the 1980s, the men in the 1980s probably had a testosterone level between 500 and 600. You move into the 90s, you see men are now having a testosterone level between 400 and 500. You go into the early 2000s, and now it's like 400. You get to today in 2025, the average testosterone could be between 300 and 350. Okay?

Now, it's really important to understand that this isn't just about getting an erection. That's not what this is. This is not about erectile dysfunction, okay? It's it's it's far bigger than that. When you think about the functions of testosterone, one of the functions is the production of sperm. Okay, that affects fertility, that affects birth rates. Okay, hugely important. Also the development of the penis and the scrotum. Okay, because we're also noticing not only, uh, testosterone levels through the floor, but also penis sizes and scrotum sizes are getting smaller and smaller as well, too. Okay.

Also, our sexual sort of features and development as well, too. So, what I mean by that is you'll notice that, you know, like men and women have very distinct voices. Okay? So, as a child or a male child hits his puberty, his voice changes. Okay? A large part due to the shift in hormones, particularly testosterone. Because you'll notice that as boys and girls are growing, you know, up until about 10, 11 years old, like they're pretty much equal in strength. And then as soon as puberty hits, there's a shift. The boys just get stronger, they get bigger, they get faster, they get they just get more aggressive as well, too. Okay. So these features, body hair, voice, you know, facial structure, muscle mass, all of these things are changed by testosterone. Libido, um, the ability to get an erection, sexual drive, all of these things affected by testosterone. Muscle mass, okay, your mood. Okay, we're in a crisis right now where this is probably the point in history where men have, in terms of a percentage, have the highest percentage of men who are committing suicide. Okay? The highest it's ever been in human history. Okay?

Now, just put that into context. We went through the Middle Ages where people were knifing each other. We went through plagues and all of these things. And today could not be more convenient for humans. And despite that, the highest suicide rates, like it's almost four times that of women. Okay. So testosterone affects mood. It affects motivation. Like your drive to set goals and achieve those goals is directly affected by your testosterone levels. You got a higher testosterone level, you set a goal, you're more than likely you're more likely to achieve that goal. Okay? So that's really important too as a societal whole and a family whole as well, too. Also red blood cell production as well, too. Testosterone affects that as well, too. Bone health, the list goes on and on. These are all the things that testosterone affects. And when your testosterone levels are deficient and plummeting, it affects all of these and even more.

And not just for men, for women as well, too. Because even though women are more estrogen dominant, they still need testosterone levels. Okay? So, hugely important. And some of the signs and symptoms of some women with low testosterone is going to be low libido, thinning hair, loss of body hair, uh, increase in blood sugar, an increase in insulin in the body as well, too, which tells the body to store fat. Okay. um, erectile dysfunction, loss of muscle mass, um, gynecomastia, which is development of man boobs, all of these things and and much more.

If you look at all of the functions that I named earlier, this is what is not only affecting men's health, it's also affecting how we show up in the world as well, too. All right. So the reason why I'm making that distinction is because it's really important to understand that you can, you can really want to set a goal. You can really do everything you can to achieve that goal, but when you're not healthy, you're you're going against your biology. And biology is always going to win. And this is why health is wealth. This is why you have to be the best version of yourself both on the inside and the outside. Okay? And I'm going to explain to you why going the route of using synthetic testosterone is not the way. I'm going to explain to you in just a second. All right.

So, we're going to go through. I got about I got about eight major causes. I'm going to give you a bonus as well, too. But it's just really important fellas out there, whether I'm speaking to my uncle, you know, my homeboy or whoever you are. First of all, I I want you to know I being a male is very difficult. Being a man is very difficult. All right? And I always explain that to my sisters. I got three sisters and they say, "No, being a man is easy. It's a man's world." And I tell them, I said, "You have no idea how rough we are with each other." You know, when a woman is going through something emotionally, like her sisters come to her like this. When a man is going through something emotionally, we're like, "Pick it up, get it together." And the women around him often are the same ways. Okay? So, it's very difficult to be, you know, a man. And I understand how difficult it is when you're unhealthy, especially in this regard when it comes to testosterone. So, I want to help. And these are the major causes I believe. And I believe if you reverse engineer these causes, we can start to get back to who we truly are and were designed to be. All right.

So one, all right, the first or and this is in no order of importance, but I do think this first one is huge. Plastics and endocrine disruptors. Which plastics have these endocrine disruptors in them? Okay, a major cause. You have to think plastic is a relatively new invention. And most people when they see plastic, they think to themselves that this is a relatively benign, you know, packaging. Okay? But when you think about it, you go back to the 1950s, how much of anything is in plastic? Virtually nothing. Okay? But today, everything is. Your food is in plastic. Your supplements are in plastic. Everything, your water is in plastic. Everything comes in plastic. The bags you have are plastic. Everything is plastic. Okay? And these plastics in order to look clear and to have a certain texture, they put certain chemicals in them that are called endocrine disruptors. These endocrine disruptors disrupt your endocrine system. Your endocrine glands are what we're talking about today. Because your endocrine glands are, for instance, your thyroid is a gland, but your testicles are also a gland. They produce testosterone. So these endocrine disruptors can impact them. Okay.

Now for men, the issue is that a lot of your testosterone is being converted into estrogen. Okay, this is what a lot of those endocrine disrupting compounds like phthalates, um, you know, parabens, BPH, uh, BPA where you find in plastic bottles and they say BPA free, but it still could have BPF or BPS in there as well, too. They just switch the switch the chemical form, but it's still the same thing. It has the same impact on our health. Okay. So, a lot of the testosterone is being converted into estrogen. As a matter of fact, 80% of estrogen made in a man's body, about 80% of it is made through conversion of testosterone into estrogen. And even for women, it's the same thing. About 15 to 25% of the estrogen made in the body is actually converted from testosterone as well, too. Okay. Now the issue is that when we start to add in these xenoestrogens, these fake estrogens, now it just increases that conversion rate. Okay, a lot of the testosterone, especially for a man that's being converted. All right, now that's happening due to an enzyme called aromatase. Aromatase is the enzyme that causes the testosterone to be converted into estrogen. All right? And this is what eventually will make women estrogen dominant, but also make start to make men start to become more estrogen dominant as well, too. Meaning excess estrogen in the body. Okay.

And when you think about it on the grand scheme of things again, almost everything we're purchasing today comes in some form of plastic. And a lot of these microplastics end up in the water. They end up in the food. As the plastic breaks down as a container for the food. So, the average person is consuming about five grams of plastic every year. I'm sorry, every week. All right? So, think about that. The average person is consuming about five grams of plastic every week. Five grams of plastic is like the size of a credit card. All right? So, imagine just chopping up a credit card and eating it once a week. That's how much plastic we're consuming every week. And this is why it's being so detrimental on our endocrine system and as a result being so detrimental on our testosterone. So you got to get rid of the plastics. Okay? And once you start to look, you'll see how much plastic is around your food, is in containers of water, and this and that, and you're constantly being affected by it. Okay.

Number two, high body fat composition. All right? And fellas, we got to own this. Okay? I will see a lot of men, they may not be big. Okay? Even if you're not big, if we were to do a body composition, you will notice that your body, your your fat composition is too high. Okay? So for a lot of men, even those men who aren't big men, you may have too much fat as compared to your lean muscle, okay? Which is a huge issue, especially when you have a large amount of visceral fat, okay? And when I say a large amount, I'm talking about over two pounds, which isn't a lot, but that amount is very dangerous because visceral fat is the most dangerous type of fat. Okay? Because that type of fat is going to increase insulin and it's also going to increase your blood sugar. All right? This is what predisposes us to diabetes. Okay? Too much insulin, the body tells you to store more fat. Insulin is a fat storage hormone. It says store more fat. Excess body fat converts testosterone into estrogen because the actual fat itself, the adipose tissue, releases the enzyme I mentioned before, aromatase, that converts your testosterone into estrogen. Okay, not only does that happen when you have excess body fat, but it actually decreases your sex hormone binding globulin, which is responsible for carrying your testosterone in your blood. Okay, so this is going to affect, you know, your free testosterone and your testosterone's ability to bind. Hugely important. All right.

Number four, the number four cause, heavy metal toxicity. We're getting a lot of heavy metals that we don't really realize. Okay, that could be either through, you know, fillings, getting those old amalgam fillings, uh, consuming a lot of sushi and fish. Um, that's also through consuming things like rice. Rice is very high in arsenic. Um, using aluminum, aluminum pans or aluminum foil. We get that aluminum in our body. Lead that is being found in municipal or tap water. And even if you don't drink it, you bathe in it. Okay? If you don't have a whole home filter. And what these heavy metals do is they bind to the androgen receptors. Androgen just means the receptors for sex hormones. Okay? So they bind to the same receptor that testosterone will bind to, okay? Preventing the testosterone from binding. And specifically in your testicles, it does this. Okay? So, heavy metal toxicity is also a huge issue as well, too, in causing this sort of crisis and epidemic.

All right, number four, and this was going to hit home and this is probably where a lot of you change the video or turn the video off. Um, alcohol consumption. Okay? And and what people in general don't understand about alcohol, and I understand why they don't, is because for so long we were told that, you know, in moderation is good and that, you know, a glass of wine is good for your heart. And come to find out, many of those studies were funded by the alcohol industry. Okay? But new studies are now have now been done and they're confirming that alcohol consumption disrupts the HPG axis, which is the essential hypothalamus pituitary gonadal, meaning your testicle axis, and that axis is basically this balance in the system, and what it does is alcohol consumption interferes with hormone release and the communication within in that system. Okay. It also damages Leydig cells, which are cells inside of the testicles that produce testosterone. Okay. And this happens even with moderate consumption of alcohol. I think that's really important because a lot of people have this saying, you know, in moderation, everything is fine. That's not true. It's not true when it's something that is actually a toxin. And I'm calling alcohol a toxin not because I'm judging anybody. I'm causing I'm calling a toxin because when you drink too much of it, it they say you are intoxicated. Okay? Because you know, not only is it, you know, like you get to a certain level alcohol, you can smell it coming out of the skin. Okay? So that tells you that the body is trying to get rid of it because it's a toxin. So again, there's no judgment. I'm just we have to start calling things what they are because if we don't, we'll drink alcohol thinking it's okay because in moderation it's good and it's heart healthy when that is not the case.

Alcohol also increases aromatase activity, the enzyme that I mentioned before that converts your testosterone into estrogen. It increases the activity of that enzyme. Okay, it damages the liver, and the liver is actually responsible for metabolizing testosterone into its active metabolites, meaning the active form so it can carry out its function, but it also is responsible for producing sex hormone binding globulin as well, too. Okay. And I'll tell you, this is also true for beer as well, too. Beer is made from hops, okay? Which is a plant. And hops has phytoestrogens in them, okay? These are plant estrogens, okay? They mimic estrogen. So, if you're doing all the things that I mentioned before, which most of us are, lots of plastic, being exposed to a lot of plastic, uh, a lot of people have high body fat composition, many of us have been exposed to heavy metals, okay? And on top of that, you're drinking beer. Well, the plant estrogens that would not have been detrimental are now detrimental because you already have excess estrogen in the body. Okay, so that's number four, alcohol consumption. All right, which is going up because we're sadder and depressed and we're living in a society that in many cases is telling us as men that we're useless and we're not anything like the generation before. So many men are drinking more. Okay, so we need to be more brothers to each other. And when we see that happening, we need to be closer to each other and be there for each other and be a safe space for each other. All right.

Number five, poor sleep. Poor sleep. According to the University of Chicago, even one week of sleeping consistently less than 5 hours a night or missing, you know, like not getting a full night's sleep would cause a decrease in muscle mass and bone density and decrease testosterone. Okay? So, poor sleep. We need to sleep better. We need to turn off the TV. We need to be more routine when it comes to our sleep. We need to get rid of the phones out of the bedroom. We need to turn the Wi-Fi off in the bedroom. We need to take our sleep more seriously. Okay.

Number six, and this is the one that's probably going to shock most of you. And the reason why it's going to shock most of you, and you have to remember, I started my career off as a pharmacist. Okay? So, I know what I'm talking about when it comes to this. And that is TRT therapy, which is testosterone replacement therapy. All right? This is when you go in and you either get the cream or the gel or the injections of testosterone because your testosterone levels are too low. And your doctor is always going to tell you is, you know, it's it's fine and we'll monitor it, etc., etc. But what they don't tell you is this. The body is constantly balancing itself through this process called homeostasis. This is how you maintain a certain blood pressure. This is how you maintain a certain pH. This is how you maintain a certain body temperature. This is how you maintain certain hormone balances in the body as well, too. The body is constantly balancing itself. Okay.

So when you inject a synthetic hormone into the body, initially the body is like, "Okay, we got a lot of testosterone in here. Let's put it to use." Okay? But as you're constantly injecting these synthetic this synthetic form of testosterone in the body, you know what the body does? It stops the production of endogenous, meaning natural production of testosterone. It stops the production of it. You stop producing testosterone and then you become solely dependent on the synthetic hormone. Now, here's the downfall of that. At some point, your body's going to figure out that this is not real testosterone. Okay? And there's also this sort of recognition that the body has stopped producing testosterone. So then there's a rebound effect. So most men who start taking the testosterone, they notice that it stops working. Okay? And it stops working because of what I just explained. And not only does it stop working, all of those sort of side effects or symptoms that you were experiencing that caused you to say, "I need to take testosterone," they all come back. And in some cases, they get worse. Okay? In the beginning, you may grow a lot of muscles. I've seen it. Okay? I've handed out hundreds of prescriptions when I was in the hospital. I've seen it. Even older men who get stronger and get muscles and then there's this rebound effect and it affects their reproduction and it affects their ability to get an erection and it affects everything and now everything is worse.

And I'll give you another example if that doesn't worse that that doesn't sort of hit home for you. Women out there who take pellets. Sometimes they will have these pellets and these testosterone pellets. Okay? I got many women that I've talked to about this who have had the pellets inserted and they tell me for the first time they understand what it's like to be a man. Like in my opinion, women who have these pellets, these testosterone pellets, they understand what it's like to have a sexual drive of a man. And for the first time, they have a new and a new found respect for men and they understand men a lot better. Okay? And so that shows you that yes, the testosterone can work, but as soon as you remove them, eventually they return back to their normal baseline. So it's just really important to understand that sometimes you're putting a band-aid on a problem that this is not going to fix. And sometimes you're putting sandpaper on it. Okay? So it's just really important to understand that. I know a lot of people think that a lot of men will resort to this option, but it's also important to understand that it will it's contributing to the the the crisis because you're not actually getting to the solution. All right.

Number seven, zinc deficiency. Okay, it's really important to understand that zinc plays a huge role not only in our immune system but it is it is an essential mineral for the production of testosterone as well, too. Okay, and so many other things. All right, but it's also important for sperm production and also fertility as well, too. And many men are very deficient in that as well, too. And our again, our diets, our lifestyles are contributing to us being deficient in zinc as well, too, because there's a lot of activities that we do that cause us to lose zinc. I won't get into that today, but there's a lot of activities we do that cause us to lose zinc. So, we have to make sure we're eating foods that are loaded with zinc. And in cases where it's severe, you may even have to take a zinc supplement. Okay, so zinc is part of that issue as well, too.

Number eight, and number eight again is probably the biggest contributor to this crisis is the trash diet. And the reason why I call it trash is because if you go in the supermarket today, the vast majority of the foods in the supermarket, if you look at the label and read the ingredients, most of the ingredients you don't even know what they you can't even pronounce or let alone know what they are. I mean, you can get spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce for spaghetti and look and you would think because the first ingredients is is supposed to be what has the highest concentration in this canister, right? And you would think like, okay, the first ingredient of course is going to be tomatoes. It's not always tomatoes. So, most of the food that people are eating is not real food. As a matter of fact, most of the products that are on the shelf today did not exist 50 years ago. Okay? So, this is a huge contributor to the fact that you have to understand that your diet is what testosterone is being made from. Okay? And your diet is also contributing to the dysfunction and the breakdown of your body and its ability to make testosterone. So, it's very common for men to not be open to shifting their diets. I got friends, and I I'm talking to you. You know who I'm talking to, my friends out there, who they could get a diagnosis of high blood pressure, they can have an aneurysm, they can have cancer, and they still won't change their diet. They're that stubborn. And my thing is is that don't be willing to die for something that you're not willing to live for. Okay? The food is not worth it, my friend. And we need to get back to real food. All right.

Number nine, this is your bonus, is stress. A lot of men are stressed out there. And I understand like, you know, it is a very, very strange time for men these days with all that's going on and our ability to provide isn't the same as it was before. My grandfather who had 10 children with my grandmother, he provided for all of those 10 kids. And at some point it would be like 16 people in the house because me and my cousins and everybody was living there. Not just coming over for the weekend, but living there. 16 people in a four bedroomedroom house. And my grandfather worked in a factory and never made $8 more than $8 an hour and he was able to provide for that family. Okay, that is not possible today. So that comes with a lot of stress because who we are we lean on? We lean on who we are as our ability to provide for the people we love and care about. But we have to understand that the more we stress about this, the more we create more cortisol in the body and cortisol blocks the production of testosterone. So we got to get to a space where we create safe spaces for each other. Both us as men for each other and the women who love us. We got to create these safe spaces and we got to manage our stress better. Okay, so that's going to be hugely important as well, too.

So hopefully this has shed a light on what the epidemic is, what the crisis is, what's really what are the biggest contributing factors. Please share this video with somebody you love and care about. Your uncle, your dad, you know, your husband, your boyfriend, your son, um, your friend, somebody you care about because we got to get this type of information out there because it's not only affecting our health, it's affecting the next generation. So, please hit the subscribe button, hit that like button, share this with somebody. And for all my men out there, I highly recommend do my detox. It's a game changer. I can't go into detail now because this video is already too long. But most of the issues that I talked about, my detox can help you remove most of those things from the body, reset your your your cravings and so that you can get more discipline with your lifestyle. Okay. So again, thank you for sharing the video. Thank you for hitting that subscribe button. Until the next time, peace and blessings and Godspeed.
