Hotels should copy airlines

The Bottleneck Podcast1:01

Transcription

All you got to do is steal from another industry. Because like every airline, if you're a premium customer and you turn up too early, they give you a lounge to sit in.

If you turn up too early at a hotel, often you have no control over this. Cuz you landed in Singapore at bloody 7 in the morning. And effectively, they say, "No, you're going to be homeless until 3:00. Why don't you wander the streets like a hobo?" Okay.

And then similarly, you check out. And maybe now there's a Virgin Hotel in the Caribbean which has a departure beach. Where effectively after you check out, again, don't quote me on this, um, but after you check out you have exclusive access. Cuz of course all the flights leave the Caribbean for Europe, uh, late in the evening. So of course you you need to. Okay, I get it. You need the room because you need to make up the room. But effectively what you're saying is you're now going to wander around aimlessly with luggage. I mean, you can obviously leave your luggage behind reception. But instead they have a specific experience between the time you check out and the time you fly home.
