Speaking With Taco Talks After Trent Horn's Interrogation

Taco Talks, welcome to the stream.

How are you doing?

Doing well, man. So, for those wondering, recently Taco Talks went on to Trent Horn's channel and had a conversation with him about probably the most important topic, how to go to heaven. And so, yeah, tell us what um first of all, how did this happen?

Randomly he just messaged me on X and said, "Hey, do you want to come on to my channel for an interview slash dialogue?" Which ended up just kind of being an interrogation of him just asking a bunch of different questions and me trying to answer them as best I could.

It did seem like an interrogation. I found that I was like, "Wow, he's just going and he's going very specific scenarios. What about this? What about that?"

Yeah.

But I thought it gave you a brilliant opportunity to preach the gospel. And I thought that was such a good thing. In fact, I just want to show you guys maybe just a a small clip of this and then I want to ask T some questions about it as well.

Okay. So, uh my my question though is what do I do? So, tell me like right right now just give me the formula like what do I do?

Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.

Believe in the Lord Jesus. So, that's all I have to do.

Yeah. You have to have a genuine trust. You have to believe him. You have to have faith.

Okay. Um do I have to believe? So if I believe in the Lord Jesus and I have faith that he died and he saved me from my sins and I maintain that belief, uh I will go to heaven.

Yes. I believe that if Jesus has saved you, then you are saved eternally. I do not think that you can lose your salvation. I think your salvation is preserved by God.

Okay. Um, so then going forward then, so I believe this. I believe this is about Jesus. Um, and I hold to that, uh, can I just read my Bible and believe in Jesus and never go to church? But I believe all this about Jesus and read my Bible, but I don't go to church.

Well, going to church will not earn you any increase of grace or get you any closer to heaven. But going and gathering among believers, that is what we're called to do. The Bible says specifically in Hebrews, do not forsake the gathering. So, it's a beautiful wonderful thing that Christians should definitely be doing.

Okay. But let's say I don't do that and I know people who don't do that. They just believe in Jesus. They read the Bible. If I believe in Jesus and I trust in him alone and I don't go to church, uh will I go to heaven?

Yes. If you trust in him alone, absolutely.

Okay. You don't have to go to don't have to go to church. Um, so if I don't go to church, that means I don't receive the Lord's supper. So are you saying that I can believe in Jesus, trust in him alone, but I will still go to heaven even though I don't receive the Lord's supper?

Yeah. So uh, within the category of the Catholic Church having a very different view of the Lord's supper than what I would hold to in John 6, Jesus is expressing that whoever believes in him is eating him. That is consuming Jesus is to trust in him. So by believing in him, you are partaking of that. You're just not partaking of the symbolic ritual.

Okay? So I don't have to go to church. I don't have to receive the Lord's supper. Um, let's say I believe in Jesus. I trust in him. Um uh do I and I but I choose to not get baptized. Uh will I still go to heaven?

Yeah. Because you have been spiritually baptized. If you truly trust in him, then you have been spiritually baptized, not water baptized. Okay. So, don't don't need Eucharist, don't need to go to church, don't need to be baptized. All righty.

Yeah. I thought I just played that part because I thought you did really well with his questions here where he was challenging you on Okay, so what about this scenario? What about this scenario? And to me, it's like he sounded surprised at hearing this. In fact, his video was titled I was shocked. And the the the title of the stream was I asked a Protestant how to go to heaven and he was shocked. So did this did this surprise you these sort of questions that he was asking or what did you think as as he was asking you these questions?

Well, I mean all those questions that he was asking are things that Catholics think they actually have to do to merit an increase of grace that leads to the attainment of eternal life according to the Catholic Catechism paragraph 2027. And so he's literally asking, "Do you believe that you have to work the same way that I have to work in order to earn heaven, but he doesn't want to word it that way because that would obviously be a problem for them."

Yeah, that's so true. Um, because they want to try and say, "We don't earn our way to heaven.

We just merit our way to heaven. We merit the grace of

I know. What's the difference between earning and merit?" You know,

Pronunciation money.

Yeah, that's that's a good point. And and so then he was wording it. So you're just trusting Christ alone and therefore I don't need these extra things in order to be saved. And you made the clear point like these are great. Don't forsake the assembling of the saints. It's great to get baptized, great to take the Lord's supper. So you weren't saying the we don't care about these sort of things. We think they're important. You're just saying we don't rely on them to get us to heaven.

Exactly. And they can't save us. That's such a good point because Christ and Christ alone is what gets us into heaven. And so then yeah, what would you have done anything differently knowing you've had that experience and the response of people? Would you do anything differently?

I think that I would push him a little bit harder back because I was very respectful of letting him ask all the questions. I asked I think three total and he tried to push off two of them. And so I I feel like I should have pressed him a little bit harder to get him to express what he believes to actually turning into more of a dialogue rather than an interrogation.

Yeah, I think that's really wise. That's really wise because I did notice you tried to ask him like, "Well, Trent, have you ever done this?" And then he didn't want to answer like, "Has he done that?" He just went back to um asking you another question. I think that's wise and showing that okay I think it's what Christ did alone yeah that saves me and your perspective Christ is not enough apparently you've you got to make up the difference by your efforts by your works

and I think that's the biggest issue with Roman Catholicism they through their efforts in trying to earn any aspect of it or merit an increase of it they have to deny that Jesus was sufficient and so if you're saying that you're saying God isn't good enough. And that's I think the biggest issue that they have.

Yeah. That Christ God is not good enough and Christ is not enough because under Trent's view, you couldn't really have any assurance of salvation, could you?

No. He he constantly said that you can lose it. So, his belief uh that I've gathered from watching his videos is that you're saved the moment that you're water baptized and then from there you can lose your salvation if you don't do all the works to keep it. And so for him that there's absolutely no security. It's always you having to do certain things and then you have to do acts of penance like going to confession and absolving your sins through a human and just all these different things in order to keep something that he thinks he got from having water put on him while someone said words. It just

Yeah, that's a Yeah, that's a good point. So, do you think he was trying to trap you with all that interrogation, the questions? Yeah. What do you think the trap he was trying to set for you?

I think he was trying to get me to say that Christians have to do something. So I was very careful to try to consistently say no, it's not that they have to do something. It's that it is typical that they will do this if they are Christians because those who believe obey. But you don't obey to be saved. You obey because you have been saved and God has changed you.

And so I think yeah, that's a good point. and trying to trap you in that way and maybe trying to communicate, oh then how could you really know you're saved if you still struggle with this sin or that sin. And then I think in the in the video you made a great point that we can know

if I'm trusting in Christ. I can know what was the example you gave.

Uh first John 5:13 was the scripture I quoted for that if I think I quoted that to him uh which is I've written these things to you who believe in the name of the son of God so that you may know you have eternal life. But the example I gave specifically was he said, "How do you know that you trust God?" And I said, "How do you know that you love your wife?"

That's what it was. Yeah. How do you know if you love you love your wife? I thought that was a good example. How do you know? Um I sometimes say, "How do you know the sky is blue?" Well, I just know. I know. I believe the sky is blue. And I can know as Paul says, I know whom I have believed. And I'm convinced that he's able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.

Amen. Now, what was the reaction of people after people watched this video? What's the reaction been like?

Not good, but just uh well, you you know how people like that are. Um so, in their comment section, everyone is so loyal to him. So, since it was on his channel, everyone commenting is just trashing me, insulting me, going saying that like he did fantastic. He cooked him, he trapped him, he got him. All this stuff. And then there's been other repercussions where I was trending on X because I said that I don't think a certain thing is sinful in a very specific context and he I guess that that took off. So it's been it's been very interesting but it's a beautiful thing. We we see that I believe it's in uh Matthew I think it's Matthew 5:11 where Jesus says you will be insulted for my name but because of that you will be blessed.

That's so true. Yeah. people are going to bring false charges against you, insulted, and they they did it to the prophets who were before you. So, you can take heart at that and be encouraged. Great is your reward in heaven. But it is interesting with these sort of things is that people get a snippet. They don't watch often the whole thing. They just get like one little snippet right near the end of maybe something you might have said and they think, "Oh, that's what it was all about." Rather than actually listening to what the thrust of your argument was. And that is unfortunate. It seems like I I've I've had my you've you've had a debate with um Jesus and whatnot before I did and then I had those two debates with him as well. And

and it's so interesting how it's about it's almost like they want to try and destroy a Protestant, try to destroy this rather than a pursuit of truth. It's I want to destroy this person and show why they're silly and foolish.

And would you say that that's what we should be doing as Christians?

No. I I have no desire to trash anybody. I want everybody to know Jesus. And so, one of the best ways to do that is to show them that what they believe is not in line with the Bible. But it's not to hurt those people. It's to get them to change their mind on what they believe and actually believe in the truth.

That's good. I love that heart that you have. That's the same with me. I I just want more people to come to know Jesus and find rest in him. And and yet what we just see from the Catholic and Orthodox side is we want to destroy these Protestants and show them how silly they are.

Mhm.

So, it's you don't care about my soul. You don't want me to come to know Jesus and find rest because they don't have rest. You chat to the average Roman Catholic and Orthodox. Do you have rest? Are you 100% sure you're going to heaven? No, I'm not. I'm striving. In fact, there was a Catholic priest that went on to the cath the Catholic Answers program

and he said, "Look, we are not the church of the saved. We are the church of the striving."

Man,

I thought, whoa, that's revealing. They're admitting they're not the church of the saved or the church of the striving.

That's like Islam. Islam are the people of the striving, praying five times a day, doing their pilgrimages, hopefully, fingers crossed, going to heaven.

We We are the church of the saved. If we are in Christ, we are the people who are saved resting in him.

Exactly.

Yeah. And so even though there's been backlash, I think it's for the furtherance of the gospel. So Oh, yeah. Be

encouraged.

That was the best thing I was able to I I like systematically wrote out how to present the gospel for that specific audience. And in there I quoted the uh the council of Trent canon six session or no no it was session six canon 24 um and uh the Catholic catechism 2027 to anathematize myself according to Rome while giving the gospel where if any Catholic were to say like that's what we believe which a lot have then it's it's exactly the opposite of what they believe because according to Rome because I believe those things I'm anathema and so if they can't believe in the same thing without having to ultimately reject what their church is teaching. And so I I tried to make sure that was in there at least that way. It's uh like Matthew 13 where we're planting seeds. We have no idea what the soil looks like. But we plant it everywhere and wherever God has been preparing that soil, that's where it's going to grow.

Amen. That's really good. Yeah. There's so many anathemas at Trent, it's not even funny. Like

Yeah. It says even one of them, if you don't believe baptism is a requirement for salvation, you're anathema.

Just even if you don't think it's a requirement, you're anathema. And yet the Catholic Church is so inconsistent and will say that if you are just trying to be a good person, you don't have contact with the Catholic Church, you can be saved. And which even Catholic Answers has an article on their website saying that some atheists actually do have belief in God. And so therefore, they're saved even though they're atheists. It's just very concerned.

Yeah. I mean, it never lines up with itself,

right? They want to be exclusive. And the issue is they're trying to say, "Okay, right, Catholic Church is the only true church, the only way to have salvation because Unim Sanctum says that in like 800 years ago, but then now they want to be more inclusive getting everyone in. And so they're trying to say, "Oh, yeah, you have to be a member of the Catholic Church, but you just may not realize you're a member of the Catholic Church. You could be an atheist and you're a member of the Catholic Church.

What? That's absurd to me.

And then the same thing in paragraph 8:41, it says that Muslims are included in the plan of salvation because they also worship the one true merciful God. But then in the Quran, Surah 572 literally says that if you believe Jesus is God, you're going to hell. So it's like, how can they possibly believe in the same God as Christians? But that's it's kind of telling. It it shows that either Catholics are worshiping a different God or that they genuinely don't know who the God of the Bible is.

And so, how have you found your experience in witnessing to Catholics? How does it usually go?

It kind of depends because on some of them it's really good and then some are really argumentative. So, in person it's always way easier than online. But I mean, I've gotten dozens of messages of people saying like that uh like the videos I've done showed them something wrong with the church. They looked into it and they've left the Catholic church and they started going to a biblical church or a reformed church, a non-denominational church, anything like that. And so that's beautiful. But typically, if if I'm talking to someone in person, I ask them how they believe that they're saved and what they believe about Jesus. And from there, I get different answers from every single Catholic I'll talk to. There was one years ago that is just one of my favorite stories. Uh I was at a dentist office and the dental assistant was working in my mouth and uh I saw a bunch of piercings in her ear. So I asked her about the piercings while my mouth was kind of full. So it was kind of mumbled out. But because of that, I asked her if she had any tattoos cuz I used my tattoos as a way to reach people with tattoos. And so I asked her, she showed me like a tattoo on her arm and said that hers are all nature themed. I said, "Oh, cool. Mine are all Bible themed." I took off my jacket and showed her and she said, 'I've never seen anything like that.' And then I said, 'Th that's because most Christians don't have tattoos.' She goes, "That's true." So I said, 'What do you believe?' She said, 'Well, I'm a Catholic.' I said, 'So almost a Christian.' She said, "What do you mean?" I said, "Well, Catholics have a different Jesus than the Jesus in the Bible." Then I went through explaining because they deny the sufficiency of Jesus, it changes a primary attribute of God and creates a false version of him. So, I took that through everything and then about an hour later, she went into their files, found my name, found me on Facebook, messaged me and started saying, "Thank you for telling me about God. Thank you for all this." And then I was able to kind of show her for the next few days just different things that the Catholic Church was doing wrong and stuff like that and why it was different. And so, some great things like that and then others I've been working on other Catholics for gosh uh 10 years and no luck. So, it just depends,

right? Hey, that's that's so awesome that God allowed that to happen. Yeah. I find that sometimes those who are more ingrained in Catholicism, more, you know, indoctrinated in it, they're some of the most resistant. But the ones that are just maybe cradle Catholics, haven't don't really know too much about their theology, they're often more open because you ask them, "Hey, why do you think you go to heaven?"

You ask the average Catholic, it'll be because I'm a good person. Right. I'm I'm about to head to the Philippines, Catholic country. So many Catholics there. Almost every single person we encounter who's a Catholic will always say, "I'm going to heaven by being a good person." Now, first of all, why don't why don't Catholic apologists make some sort of like big thing about that? If that's what the vast majority of Catholics are trusting in being in a good person to go to heaven, why aren't they making a big deal of that? Anyway, I find that th those sort of people though are often very open to the gospel once they realize the inability to save themselves by being good. They then see the beauty of wow Christ died for me and he gives it as a gift just trusting in him as how I receive that. They see it as amazing news and and if God's spirit's working on them, they come to faith. Um, but for those who are more ingrained, they won't say cuz I'm a good person. They'll say, "Oh, God's grace but through sacraments and through this." And so they're making a very convoluted system. And so then when you give the simple message of Jesus Christ and him crucified, they're like, "No, that's not enough. You need these extra things as well." And they often uh resistant to it. It reminds me of Matthew 23 where these people would cross land and sea to make a single procelite, the Pharisees. And and Jesus said, "When you do, you make them twice as son of hell as yourselves." Because in a way it makes them inoculated against the true message. right of of salvation. The ones most resistant to the gospel were not the crowds but the Jewish religious leaders.

Yes.

Do you find that as well?

Yeah. Um especially the ones who have heard certain Catholic apologists say things, they'll kind of parrot the same responses that they hear from them. So like the the biggest one is if I explain that we're saved by faith alone, they'll just say like, "Oh no, faith without works is dead." The only part in the Bible that says faith alone is the one that says that it doesn't save you. It's just like, "Okay, but do you know what alone means?" They're like, apart from exact like yeah faith apart from the works of the law that's Romans 3:28 but then they say that's the law of Moses I'm like yeah that's the ten commandments which your church says you have to keep to be saved it's like

that's true

it's exactly the law of Moses that's exactly it

yeah because for those wondering paragraph 2068 of the Catholic catechism say that people attain salvation through faith baptism and the observance of the commandments that this is the reference right here and so people they often say Okay, look, we're not under the law. But then they'll say, but you're under this part of it in order to attain salvation, which is what Galatians is about. It's what Romans is about. It's responding to these people who think that the law, even just a part of it, plays a part in them attaining salvation. And that's literally what Rome teaches. Attain salvation through keeping the commandments. because they think if you do a mortal sin, which they would define as breaking one of the ten commandments, you forfeit your salvation, even if you still got faith in Christ. So, they don't think that you've stopped having faith in Christ by doing a mortal sin. They think your faith is still in Christ, but just that the sin was more powerful than what Christ did, and so therefore, you've lost your state of grace. They think it destroys the grace within you.

And that was something that Trent was saying. He was trying to make a distinction between little lies and big lies, but they're both lies. So, it doesn't matter if it's telling your wife, "Oh, no, no, you you look fantastic in that dress. You don't look fat at all." Or if it's you doing something that's scamming somebody, it's you're still lying. You're still deceiving somebody with an intent to uh deceive them. Yeah. So, just it's bad no matter what.

I actually find that Muslims do the same thing. They're like, "Oh, look, I these are the big sins. These are the small sins. So, if I'm only doing the small sins, I'll be fine. But the big sins, at least I'm not doing them. And I find that with all non-Christian religions, they always downplay sin by categorizing it like that. When I think you make a helpful point, all sin makes you deserving of hell. You made a point in the video, one lie is enough to send you to hell. And yet in Catholicism they have to do the mortal verse venial to basically come to realize to justify their workspace salvation. Because if they actually were honest, they would realize that every sin is mortal in the sense of every sin is an act of idolatry. Because whenever you whether you do a big lie, small lie, whatever it is, you are saying that you know better than God at that moment in time. God told you not to do it, you're doing it anyway. You think you're better than God. That's idolatry. All right? And so, which would be a violation of the first of the ten commandments anyway. So, every sin is a mortal sin even under Catholicism. But they don't want to say that because otherwise everyone's going to be in the confessional booth every half a second because as soon as you walk out of the confessional booth, you're going to have to go back in, you know?

Yeah. Like it was uh it was Jesus's whatnot. It was Noah who put out a video a little bit ago saying like, I just realized that lust is a mortal sin. So every time that I'm looking at a woman, I I've committed a mortal sin. It's like, yeah, like come on, let's hopefully this changes your mind on it then.

Yeah. And that's actually my experience as well. Some change to Roman Catholics when they realize that all sin is serious. All sin is a violation of love for God and love for neighbor, which is also how they characterize mortal sins. Then they realize, well, this whole mortal venial sin distinction can't make any sense and I couldn't be saved then if it's based on having to avoid these things. And then they come to realize, is there another way? You can they could feel the weight of their sin. It's like what Jesus says, all who are labor and are heavy laden, Jesus, come to me and I'll give you rest. And then they find, wow, there's rest. And it's a question I like to ask Catholics and tell me what you think of it. And it's related to your discussion with Trent. So Trent didn't like the fact that you're trusting in Christ alone to get you to heaven apart from sacraments, baptism, going to church, all those different things. But a question I like to ask Catholics is, do you think that God is going to reject you on judgment day because you were relying on Christ alone to get you to heaven and not in any of your actions or works? Do you think God's really going to say, "Look, you should have not had as much trust in Christ and a bit more trust in your sacraments and and actions to get you to heaven." What do you think about that question?

I love that. Can I steal it?

Go for it. Yeah.

Definitely.

That's awesome.

I want to ask this as well. Do you know when they um do when they say mortal sins make you lose your salvation? Do they think that you lose the Holy Spirit when you do a mortal sin? Do you know? I don't know for sure. Um because I they they get really tricky on that where I don't know it's different between Catholics on whether or not they're claiming that doing that mortal sin will earn you more time in purgatory or if that's hell. So that's that's where they have such a

As far as I'm aware they say if you die in a state of mortal sin. Catholic catechism says you descend into hell eternal fire.

Right? If you die in the state of mortal sin venial sins is where you go to purgatory. save, but and your sin's already forgiven, but you got to somehow get some temporal punishment for it.

But I'm really curious to see if okay, do they think a mortal sin makes you lose salvation? I mean, lose not just salvation, but even the Holy Spirit until you go back to confession. Now, if they think that you lose the spirit when you do a mortal sin, then how exactly were you sealed with the promised Holy Spirit? As Ephesians 1:13 says, you are. when you believed you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. But then if you if they think you don't lose the Holy Spirit when you do a mortal sin, then aren't you still sealed until the day of redemption? So then how could you be sent to hell?

So the verse I'm thinking of

I'll show you the verse. It says, "In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it to the praise of his glory." So if someone has the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is the guarantee they're going to heaven.

So then if you're in a state of mortal sin, do you still have the Holy Spirit? So

I I'm pretty sure that they would probably have an argument to say no to say that the Holy Spirit can leave people.

Wow. So you could have the Holy Spirit come and go like all throughout your life.

I would guess that they would do that and I would assume that they're trying to use things like the Holy Spirit leaving Saul as an example of that because the Holy Spirit works so different in the Old Testament compared to the New

where in the Old Testament he did go in and out. Like whenever Samson was super strong, it says that the Holy Spirit entered him and then he did something. So it very different now than then, but I think that they would still try to hold that as a biblical backing for you being able to lose that. That would be my guess, but I haven't had that conversation with any before.

And but then how exactly are you sealed then?

Exactly.

Doesn't sound like a ceiling,

right?

It's a loose envelope,

right? That's funny. Now, I really appreciated you've done a bunch of videos on kind of like mock conversations with different people. You did one on Lutheranism recently. You've done one on orthodoxy and also Catholicism. And I thought I'd just show everyone the one that you did, Conversation with a Catholic. And I thought it was really well done because that's often how conversations with Catholics go. So, I'm going to show you show everyone a clip of this. Here we go. conversation with a Catholic. Oh, let me turn the volume up. You're a Catholic, right? Yeah. Do you think your religion is based on works? No. So, you believe that you're saved by faith alone? No. Faith without works is dead. So, then you do think that works are necessary to be saved. Yeah. So, then your religion is based on works. No, it's a cooperation. Do you know what cooperation means? that it's a team effort. It literally means worked jointly to the same end. So quite literally that would mean that your religion is based on works. No, it's because God is working through me. But that means it would be God working with God and not you doing any of the works. But regardless, do you think that those works that you're doing that God is doing through you? Do you think that's before or after you're saved? It's before I'm saved, but it's after I'm converted. which means you have to do those works in order to be saved. Yes, that means it's a work-based religion. No, because it's faith working in love. You understand that? That means a person who is already saved is going to be doing good works because they are already saved. Well, that's what I said. No, you said that you have to do works to get saved to become saved. I'm saying you can only do works if you have already been saved. Well, you can't know for sure that you're saved, but you literally can know. Like in 1 John 5:13, it literally says, "I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the only begotten son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. You will do good works if you are saved. But you can only do good works if you have already been saved." So, you can be saved and then you can lose your salvation if you fail to do those works. No, because that would be a works-based salvation. you are saved and then God uses you for good works later after he saved you. He saves you so that he can use you for good works. You're saying the same thing that I'm saying. No, I'm literally saying the opposite of what you're saying. I'm saying that you're saved by grace alone through faith alone and Christ alone for the glory of God alone. And if God saves you, it's because he's going to use you to do good works. Those works do not determine your salvation. Your salvation determines whether or not you're going to do those works. Well, being saved is a process that lasts your entire life. No, that's not salvation. That's sanctification. That's being conformed to the image of the son, which happens after you have already been saved. Well, then what about the people who lose their salvation and leave the church? The Bible teaches it's not possible to lose your salvation. Because in the same way that you can't work to earn the salvation, there's nothing that you can do that would cause God's perfect sacrifice to be diminished and to be destroyed and demolished. that would reduce his perfect sufficient sacrifice to something that's no longer capable of saving you. In John 10, God literally says that he preserves, he saves, he keeps them, he holds them in his hand, and no one can ever snatch those whom he has saved out of his hand. You just don't understand Catholic doctrine. Okay? So, just why don't you why don't you learn about Catholic doctrine before you try to tell me about the differences? You know what? I think that I'm going to buy you like a dictionary or a thesaurus for Christmas. Okay, buddy.

Thank you.

Um I thought that was I was really well done video. Some really great points throughout it. I find that yes, even that last part, they often say, "Oh, you don't really know Catholic theology. You don't know it." Even though we might be citing the Catechism, we're citing the Council of Trant. They they they think they're coming. We don't know when probably we know it maybe better in some ways better than many many Catholics. Yeah. Than some.

Um even I've seen you say to some Catholics, look, oh, we just do good works because we're saved based what Catholics have some Catholics have said. And then you're like, guess what Council of Trent says? You're an if you believe that.

There was agreeing with that point.

Yeah. There was a uh a guy on the live stream. So that that's what I made one of those videos on. I all those videos I do are typically based on conversations I've had with people um either in person or online. Um but there was a guy who came on to one of my live streams and I asked him if he thinks that his works are a result of being saved and he said yes. And I said, "Okay, well the Catholic Church says the opposite." He goes, "No, the Catholic Church says that." No. And then I read it to him from the catechism and he goes, "Where does it say that?" I gave him the citation. He's just like, "No. Well, what what Bible verse is backing it up?" I was like that there's no Bible verse to back that up. It's like it doesn't work that way.

That's so funny. I loved your point about cooperation because that's something they usually use. We got to cooperate with his grace. What does cooperation mean? Jointly working to an end as you you said there in that video.

Yeah. It's working alongside someone. Well, then that's you believe in a workspace salvation. Now they don't they really don't like that label workspace or many of them don't like that label when their system of religion is workspace. We're not saying it's entirely works. Sure, they have some they include faith in there as well, but it's still at least partly based on works. Therefore, we can we call it worksbased salvation.

Exactly. because they want they want to deny Pelagianism, which the only like modern religion that most people would be able to think of that is that is going to be like Buddhism, which is just it's purely based on your life, how you lived, and how you're going to reincarnate next. But they deny that, but they deny basically the same thing, which is faith plus palagianism. And that's that's all it is. It's them still working.

That's interesting. Yeah. Because every other belief system in the world would still have faith and works. It would be like like Islam, you got to believe certain things and you've got to do certain works. And so then Catholicism is the same way. Believe certain things and do certain works. I've seen a video of Train Horn elsewhere where he said there is a good work you need to do to enter heaven. It's the good work of avoiding mortal sins. And covered under that good work is the work of like loving your neighbor and honoring your parents and going to mass every week. And so he said there's one work you've got to do. And then he said under that work is like a whole lot of other works. And so he admits it's works at least a works based salvation in that sense which is the weirdest part that they just so semantical with it. And I think the the extent of how semantical they are is going to be the downfall of most of them because they try to pretend words don't mean what words mean and it's just horrible.

Yeah, that's a really good point. Um, and someone said, "Love your videos. Please do one for SDA, Seventh Day Advent." Have you done one for that?

We have. I already have. I have one of those up on uh every platform.

All right. And we Jamie's got a question. How did you get the name Taco Talks?

I started making my videos in my Tacoma. So, they were Tik Tok Tacoma Talks, but that was too wordy.

Okay, fair enough. And yeah, I just encouragement. You're a blessing and encouragement. um ever be for him said.

Yeah. So, just want to say well done. And even though you receive flack from many Catholics and other people like that, just continue preaching the good news of Christ. Know that your labor for him is not in vain. Uh yeah. Any any final words you want to say?

No, but I appreciate you having me on. Thank you. I uh I love your videos. My buddy is probably in the chat. He watches your videos on a daily basis. So, whenever this was happening, I told him that and he lost his mind. So, that's awesome. So keep doing what you're doing. Your patience is one of the most admirable things that anybody sees with you. You are so patient. You are so calm. You're so gentle. It is a beautiful thing. So I appreciate you and everything you do.

All glory to God. Thank you so much for coming up, Taco. God bless you.

Thank you for having me. Bye.
