On May 7, 2025, the terrorists who murdered 26 innocent people in Pahalgam by asking their religion, were sleeping peacefully in their bases on Pakistani soil, they had no idea that this night would be their last. Between approximately 1:05 AM and 1:30 AM, terrorist bases in Sialkot, Muridke, and Bahawalpur in Pakistan, as well as Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Bhimber in PoK, were attacked simultaneously. A total of 24 missiles and several bombs were dropped on nine bases of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen. In the silence of the night, smoke billowed everywhere, and within minutes, all these dens of terror were completely destroyed. This action was taken by India against those terrorists and their handlers who, hiding in Pakistan, continued to kill innocent people in India. This mission was named Operation Sindoor. It was a response to the pain of those mothers and sisters whose families were devastated before their eyes in Pahalgam. Operation Sindoor is considered India's biggest military action against terrorism to date. For the first time, India struck terrorist bases about 100 kilometers inside the International Border. Information emerged of over 100 terrorists being killed in this operation. Among them were 10 people from the family of Masood Azhar, the chief of Jaish-e-Mohammed, and his four close associates. The attack was so powerful that Masood Azhar, responsible for the deaths of hundreds of innocent people, himself broke down and was heard saying that he wished he too had died in this attack. Now the question was, how did India conduct such a large operation inside Pakistan? How was it planned? And how did the situation change afterward? After the terrorist bases were destroyed, Pakistan, in panic, tried to damage India's civilian areas and military sites. But it failed completely. In response, the Indian Armed Forces took strong action against 11 Pakistani airbases. This caused heavy losses to Pakistan and forced it to retreat. The four terrorists who carried out the Pahalgam attack fled into the forests after the attack. But India made it clear that those responsible for this attack and those who conspired to carry it out would be punished more severely than they could imagine. India also clarified that this was a very precise and joint military operation, targeting nine major terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Its sole objective was to deliver justice to the victims of the Pahalgam attack. After the attack, Pakistan sent drones in the darkness of the night. But the Indian Army took immediate action, destroying about 50 drones in the air. Along with this, the countrymen were assured that any attack on the motherland would not be allowed to succeed. Meanwhile, Pakistan's air defense radar and defense system in Lahore were also completely neutralized by the Indian forces' action. The entire story begins on April 22, 2025. When five to six terrorists from TRF, a front group associated with the Pakistani terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, turned the Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam into a zone of terror. The terrorists stopped the people there. They asked their religion, and as soon as someone identified themselves as Hindu, they were shot. They didn't stop there. The terrorists asked the men to recite the Kalma to prove their religious identity. Those who could not recite the Kalma were brutally killed. In this way, 26 innocent men lost their lives solely on the basis of religion. This was not the first terrorist attack carried out by Pakistan. In the last two to three decades, under Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, many major attacks like the 2001 Parliament Attack, the 26/11 Mumbai Attack, Pathankot, Uri, and Pulwama have been carried out in India. In 2024 too, attacks occurred in Sonamarg, Gulmarg, and Reasi in Jammu and Kashmir. But the Pahalgam attack was different from all of them. This time, the terrorists had crossed every limit of humanity. These killings based on religion had also crossed the limits of India's tolerance. On the other hand, Pakistan, as always, started the same old game. Sometimes it called the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack freedom fighters, and sometimes it started blaming India itself. This time, the Indian government decided to take concrete steps instead of just making statements from Pakistan. First, decisions were taken at the diplomatic level that had never been made before. India suspended the Indus Water Treaty. About 80% of Pakistan's cultivable land depends on the water of the Indus River and its tributaries, which is considered its lifeline. India now had the right to stop the water of these rivers or release water all at once without any warning. This could lead to situations of drought or flood in Pakistan. In addition, the Attari checkpost was closed, SVES visas were canceled, and four more strict decisions were taken against Pakistan. Social media accounts of Pakistani celebrities, cricketers, media houses, and government officials were banned in India. An order was also issued to remove all Pakistani films, shows, and songs from OTT platforms. This time, India clearly wanted to put a permanent full stop to Pakistan's terrorism. Therefore, while diplomatic steps were being taken to isolate Pakistan internationally, high-level meetings were continuously underway regarding the planning of military operations against terrorists. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already clearly stated in a public rally in Bihar that the terrorists involved in this attack and those who planned it would be punished far more severely than they could imagine. After the surgical strike in 2016 and the Balakot air strike in 2019, Pakistan had well understood that India would not hesitate to take military action when needed. Due to this fear, after the Pahalgam attack, Pakistan feared that India would retaliate this time as well. Meanwhile, it started trying to spoil the atmosphere by continuously firing along the LoC. Its motive was clear. To attract the attention of foreign powers by increasing tension, so that by showing the fear of nuclear war, pressure could be put on India and it could be stopped from taking any action. But India did not care about these tactics. After the Pahalgam attack, India was seriously preparing for a major operation against terrorists. A high-level meeting was held in Delhi on April 19. In this meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of all three services were present. In this meeting, Prime Minister Modi clearly stated that the forces should take whatever steps are necessary to eliminate terrorism. They were given complete freedom. Following this, the Indian armed forces decided that a major airstrike would be carried out on terrorist bases located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The objective was clear: to destroy the bases from where attacks on India were plotted and where terrorists were trained. Intelligence agencies also joined this task with full force. RAW and NATRO started gathering real-time information on terrorist bases in Pakistan and PoK. Every agency, every officer was trying to give their best. The only thought in everyone's mind was to eliminate the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack and their bases. Complete secrecy was maintained so that no information related to the operation would leak out. In a very short time, RAW and NATRO gathered complete information on a total of 21 terrorist bases, and these inputs were given to the planning team. Out of these 21, nine most important and dangerous bases were selected. These were the places from where major attacks like Pulwama, November 26, and Pahalgam were plotted. These nine bases were kept under constant watch. They were kept under complete surveillance. NSA Ajit Doval finalized these nine targets and prepared the blueprint for the entire operation by May 5. After this, he met Prime Minister Modi and sought approval for the operation. Prime Minister Modi approved the action against these nine terrorist bases without delay. In Pahalgam, terrorists had destroyed the sanctity of Hindu women. With the same pain and the same spirit of justice, this mission was named Operation Sindoor. Before starting the operation, every small and big detail was carefully checked. A complete assessment of every possible risk was done so that there would be no scope for any mistake. A strong team of fighter jets was formed for this mission. It included advanced and long-range strike fighter jets like Rafale, Mirage, and Sukhoi MKI. All these aircraft were to operate from within Indian airspace. Rafale and Mirage were given the responsibility of executing attacks on the front lines, while Sukhoi MKI jets were to provide air defense cover so that any threat could be handled immediately if it arose. High-precision and long-range weapons were to be used in the operation. This included modern weapons like Scalp, BrahMos, and Hammer. Scalp is a cruise missile that can destroy targets up to about 550 km away with pinpoint accuracy. It flies at a very low altitude, making it undetectable by enemy radars. BrahMos is a supersonic cruise missile jointly developed by India and Russia. It can be launched from any platform, be it land, sea, or air. Its speed is about three times that of sound, and it can reach up to 500 km. In addition, the Hammer bomb, made with French technology, was also to be used. This bomb can carry a payload of 250 to 1000 kg and can completely destroy targets up to about 70 km away, even without a GPS signal. The use of Spice 2000 bombs was also decided for the operation. Kamikaze drones also played a very important role in this mission. Before the operation, these drones were entering enemy territory and conducting continuous surveillance. This provided real-time and accurate inputs to the operation team, preventing any mistakes. Of the nine most important terrorist targets chosen by India, five were located just a few kilometers from the LoC in PoK. The remaining four targets were located inside Pakistan, ranging from 6 km to about 100 km from the International Border. The Indian Army and Indian Navy were also kept on standby along with the Indian Air Force, so that if any conflict occurred on land or sea after the operation, a response could be given immediately. On the night of May 6 and 7, Rafale, Sukhoi MKI, and Mirage fighter jets, armed with missiles and bombs, were positioned at safe distances from their respective targets within the Indian border. Darkness had spread, and there was complete silence all around. Terrorists sitting in PoK and Pakistan, who had taken the lives of innocent Indian people a few days ago, were sleeping unaware. They had no idea that this night would be their last. After 1:00 AM, when there was complete silence all around, the first attack from India began. First, the Sawai Nala training camp of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muzaffarabad, the capital of PoK, was targeted. This was the place from where terrorists trained had taken the lives of innocent people in India in Sonamarg and Gulmarg in 2024, and in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025. As soon as the green signal was received from the surveillance drones, Indian fighter jets began firing missiles and dropping bombs. Within seconds, the buildings of the Sawai Nala camp turned into balls of fire. Loud explosions echoed everywhere, and the sky filled with black smoke. Many terrorists were killed there, and those trying to escape were buried under the debris of collapsing buildings. Next, the target was the Syedna Bilal camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed, located about 15 kilometers from the LoC in Muzaffarabad, PoK. This was Jaish's residential and training area, where new recruits were trained in handling weapons, making explosives, and carrying out fidayeen attacks. The third target was the Gulpur camp of Lashkar-e-Taiba in the Kotli area of PoK, about 30 kilometers from the LoC. These two camps were also attacked. Terrorists trained from this camp had attacked buses full of pilgrims in Poonch in April 2023 and June 2024. A continuous barrage of missiles and bombs rained down on the Syedna Bilal camp and Gulpur camp. Throughout this time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in constant contact with NSA Ajit Doval, receiving every update on the operation. After this, the next targets for Indian fighter jets were the Barnala camp of Lashkar-e-Taiba in the area and the Abbas camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Kotli. In the Barnala camp, Lashkar trained its terrorists in weapon handling, creating fake IDs, and surviving in the jungle. The Abbas camp, with a capacity of about 15 terrorists, prepared Jaish-e-Mohammed fidayeen. As soon as the final clearance was given, one after another, several missiles fell from the sky, and both terrorist bases were completely destroyed. Meanwhile, Indian fighter jets, while remaining within Indian airspace, were also targeting several bases of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen inside Pakistan. The operation, with full planning, speed, and accuracy, was moving towards its next phase. India's first target inside Pakistan was the Sarjal camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Sialkot. Terrorists involved in the murder of four Indian soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir in March 2025 were prepared in this camp. In the same area was the Mehmooda Joya camp of Hizbul Mujahideen, where the Pathankot Airbase attack was planned. Fighter jets, remaining within Indian airspace, dropped missiles and bombs on these two terror camps in Sialkot. The weapons hit their intended targets with such force that within moments, both camps turned into rubble. After this, Indian fighter jets targeted the Markazi Taiba camp, the largest base of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke, about 18 to 25 kilometers from the border. This was the place where the roots of terror had been strengthened since the 1990s. It was here that Ajmal Kasab and his associates for the 2008 Mumbai attack were trained. Conspirators like David Headley and Tahawwur Rana were also prepared here. When the exact coordinates of this camp emerged, the anger and pain accumulated over the years among the soldiers involved in the operation intensified. This was not just a target; it was the base of those who had shaken the entire country. Without wasting any time, missiles and bombs, evading Pakistan's air defense radar, attacked Markazi Taiba. The ground trembled with loud explosions, the sky roared, and within moments, this fortress of terror completely collapsed. With these attacks, India had destroyed eight major terrorist bases operating in Pakistan. But one last, biggest, and most dangerous base remained. This was the main stronghold of Jaish-e-Mohammed, located about 100 kilometers from the border in Bahawalpur, Punjab province of Pakistan. The name of this camp was Markaz Subhan Allah, which was the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed. This was the place where Jaish's chief Maulana Masood Azhar was born and from where he laid the foundation of his terror organization. From this base, the 2001 Parliament Attack, the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Attack, the 2016 Pathankot Airbase Attack, and the 2019 Pulwama Attack were planned. To pay true tribute to the people killed in these attacks, India fired a BrahMos missile at this terror hub. Within minutes, the buildings of Jaish's headquarters were completely destroyed. In this attack, several relatives of Masood Azhar and top commanders of Jaish were killed. This operation, which began around 1:05 AM, ended in just 25 minutes. During this time, a total of nine major terror bases were completely destroyed, and over 100 terrorists were killed. In this operation, Masood Azhar's brother and the mastermind of the Indian Airlines IC 814 hijacking, Abdul Rauf Azhar, was also killed. In addition, his two brothers-in-law and senior Jaish commanders, Mohammed Yusuf Azhar and Hafiz Mohammed Jamil, were also eliminated in this attack. Besides, two major Lashkar-e-Taiba commanders, Khalid and Mudassar Khadiyan Khas, were also killed. The impact of India's Operation Sindoor was so profound that Masood Azhar was completely broken. In this attack, 10 of his relatives and four close associates were killed. The situation became such that he even said that he wished he too had died with them. A notable aspect of this entire event was that about 3 hours before India's operation, the Pakistani Air Force had posted a mocking post on the social media platform X, saying, "Sleep peacefully because PF is awake." But 3 hours later, India attacked Pakistan's terrorist bases and completely destroyed them, truly waking Pakistan up. Just a few hours after the success of the operation, on the afternoon of May 7, the Indian government held a press conference. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Indian Air Force Wing Commander Vayomika Singh, and Indian Army Colonel Sofia Qureshi were present at this platform. This was not an ordinary press conference but a strong and symbolic message from India against terrorism. This message was for those terrorists who had killed people in Pahalgam by asking their religion and told their women to go and tell the government. To respond to that mindset, a Hindu and a Muslim female officer were brought forward. Through this, India clearly showed that it is not a divided country based on religion but a united nation. Colonel Sofia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vayomika Singh, with live video evidence, explained that under Operation Sindoor, India had targeted five terrorist bases in PoK and four in Pakistan, and all of them were completely destroyed. Immediately after the operation, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval informed countries like the United States, Britain, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE about this action. Many major countries in the world described India's action as a necessary step against terrorism. Most importantly, this time, India's opposition parties also did not raise any questions. All of them praised the army, supported the government, and showed the country's unity against terrorism. Following this, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif issued a statement saying that if India stops its attacks, Pakistan will also not retaliate. But contrary to his words, the Pakistani army continued to target Indian residential areas along the LoC. The heaviest shelling occurred from Pakistan in the Poonch area. 12 innocent people, including four small children, were killed in this firing. Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar of the Indian Army was also martyred in this attack. Not only this, but Pakistan did not stop there. It also attempted a major military attack against India. On the night of May 7 and 8, Pakistan attempted to target Indian military installations, civilian areas, and religious sites in about 15 cities in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Gujarat with drones and missiles. But India had already understood Pakistan's intentions and was fully alert. As soon as these drones and missiles entered Indian airspace, India's strong and multi-layered air defense system destroyed them in the air. Pakistan's conspiracy completely failed. India made it clear to Pakistan that it never compromises on its security. If any country or organization looks at India with ill intent, it will be answered in the same language.
