[Music] The United States is no longer the symbol of freedom as it has always been marketed, to the point that migrants go in search of that American dream of marketing that today has become their worst nightmare. It seems like an empty shell. The United States is nothing more than the essence of a political crime, and while they want to continue giving democracy lessons, they are tearing themselves apart from within. The streets are burning with the devastating "No Kings" marches, meaning no to the king, demanding justice and respect for human dignity. The federal labor fabric is breaking with unjustified layoffs since the supposed Department of Governmental Efficiency was established. Democracy is in question with the militarization of states governed by Democrats, who are Trump's opponents and have opposed unprecedented mass deportations. Policies that violate human rights. The images are heartbreaking and show the cruelty of a government that believes it has the right to do whatever it pleases and to trample over anyone. To top it all off, for 27 days, the United States government has been shut down due to a budget disagreement, although some analysts say it is a Republican strategy to blame the Democrats and pave the way for next year's elections. Civil War in the United States. Donald Trump, the king of wars. Let's dot the i's. [Music] On June 14th, the people of the United States took to the streets en masse in 2,100 cities to express their rejection of the authoritarianism and despotic behavior of the Trump administration. These demonstrations became known as "No Kings." On October 18th, the second wave of massive "No King" protests took place, with 7,000,000 people participating: professors, unions, social movements, and activists in over 2,600 cities to express their discontent with the policies of magnate Donald Trump. The fabric of this country wasn't woven by oligarchs, corporations, or power-hungry politicians. It was stitched together by workers, by immigrants, by black and brown communities, by women, by queer folks, and by people who refuse to stay quiet in the face of injustice. The message today will be crystal clear, and they won't be able to ignore it. There will be no kings in America. Indignation escalated due to a series of autocratic actions perceived as aggressions against civil rights and erratic government management. This followed Trump's order to deploy the military in cities like San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles, all governed by opposing factions. The pretext for militarization is that these are cities with violence, but in reality, their objective is to silence the opposition and all those who disagree with his way of governing the country. Trump always chickens out. What kind of a country are we living in where the president of the United States is targeting his political opponents? I mean, that is the world that we're living in now where he is calling out. He said he was going to jail Gavin Newsom. He says he's going to jail me. He says he's going to jail the mayor of the city of Chicago. Um, these are people who stand against him, disagree with him, speak out about it, but literally done nothing wrong. The "No Kings" marches defend the essence of democracy and conquered rights. They reject Trump's internal war and bet on the peace of his country. Yes, that's what it's about. Uh, precisely that is the most reactionary government with the most conservative agenda that we have seen. E Trump doesn't mince words. He's not afraid to say he's racist, that he's xenophobic. E he's even wanted to say that if the police kill someone or injure them, we have no legal recourse to defend ourselves. So, uh, those big protests, "No Kings," they represent a great widespread anger in society. The problem is spearheaded by Democrats who are also opportunists and who are not truly fighting because they are very comfortable, but they want to project the appearance because they know that millions and millions of Americans uh will not believe in the Democratic Party. And the Democratic Party pretends to want change, they pretend to want to be the resistance, but they are not. So, in those demonstrations in the streets, the vast majority are supporting and voting for the Democratic Party without knowing how to break with the system. So, these are protests and an anti-Trump, anti-Republican movement, but it is not anti-imperialist and it is not anti-system. While the streets burn in a clamor for decency, security, peace, and democracy, Immigration and Customs Enforcement operates mercilessly, executing a violent anti-immigrant policy that crosses human limits. The Trump administration has negotiated shameful agreements with third countries to deport migrants unjustly, separating families, kidnapping children, imprisoning thousands of people without having committed any crime. The most infamous example was the deportation of 252 Venezuelan migrants to El Salvador, accusing them without proof of being terrorists. The administration has even gone to the extreme of deporting Latinos to other latitudes, to other continents, condemning them to oblivion and turning them into ghosts. Donald Trump's administration redefined anti-immigrant policy with unprecedented ferocity, making deportations not only a tool of border control but a political weapon to intimidate and outrage the population. The increase in deportations went hand in hand with an intense campaign of terror within the country, marked by surprise immigration raids in communities and workplaces. A measure that not only broke with common practice but added a layer of cruelty and disorientation. So, there are six children here in the house, meaning our first concern is if they take him, we are also practically immigrants. What happens to these children? This has become hell here. The American dream does not exist. When you see people who are not bad, who are hardworking, who are willing to help others, and you see them taken away as if they were animals, as if they were criminals. Father, have mercy on this president because I don't believe he has a heart. Truly, the most violent point of this internal offensive by ICE was the support they received from military troops. This action was conceived in part as a punitive response to so-called sanctuary cities, those municipalities and counties where local authorities refused to fully cooperate with ICE to protect their migrant communities, such as Chicago and New York. Mass deportations and the policy of fear are not just statistics; they represent the breakdown of families, the dismantling of communities, and a profound attack on human rights. The intention to dehumanize migrants, to deny them even the right to be returned to their place of origin, is a scar on immigration policy marked by zero tolerance and the use of federal force as a tool of political intimidation. Without a doubt, these actions generate an atmosphere of uncertainty and instability that is felt not only in the streets but is reflected in other aspects of public and economic life. The changes by the Trump administration have caused multiple consequences. With the government shutdown, unjustified layoffs, and the high cost of living have affected millions of Americans. [Music] [Music] Donald Trump's second administration began with radical changes in the federal government structure. Through the Department of Governmental Efficiency, they managed to intervene in the federal payment system, dismantle entire agencies, and threaten thousands of public officials with layoffs. According to the digital portal Business Insider, DOGE caused more than 200,000 layoffs, which has caused great unrest in several US cities. And do you know what they did to achieve these mass layoffs? Well, DOGE accessed tens of thousands of federal data containing private information such as personal income, bank account numbers, work records, and employees' illnesses. Measures that were questioned for violating the Federal Privacy Act of 1974 and are one of the grievances for which thousands of Americans support the "No Kings" demonstrations. In April, the Department of Governmental Efficiency, known as DOGE, obtained data from 276,000 federal workers, and in June 2025, the Supreme Court of the United States allowed DOGE to access sensitive social security data of millions of Americans. Furthermore, the Court halted the case being heard by a lower court, which demanded that DOGE provide information about what it was doing. Thus, the agency continues to violate federal privacy law. However, the first Black woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court of the United States, Ketanji Brown Jackson, warned that putting sensitive data in the hands of DOGE is a serious privacy risk for millions of Americans. Thousands of protesters who supported the "No Kings" marches join this narrative. My main concern is that we are going in the wrong direction, that we don't believe that democracy and diversity are a strength, and we are heading towards an autocracy. And that is why this "No Kings" march is so important for the people of Washington D.C. I hope that Americans, Congress, the Courts, and the administration see that people really want to be part of democracy and that we need good policies, not destructive policies. DOGE's violation of privacy makes the United States the only member country of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) that lacks a Data Protection Agency to enforce privacy laws. Before Elon Musk resigned from his position, he left a chaos by applying the United States' own neoliberal recipe to its own people, firing thousands of federal workers regardless of their families. The goal was to reduce the state's burden by $1 trillion per year, but they did not achieve it. They only managed to fulfill 9% of that goal, meaning $175 billion, in exchange, they left great unrest that is expressed today in the streets. The population did not vote for a king, but for someone who would solve their problems. Donald Trump is fulfilling his campaign promise: the defunding of social programs like Medicare, which guarantees healthcare for low-income individuals, and SNAP, which guarantees food for millions of people, and of course, the expulsion of migrants. Democratic leaders criticized Trump's bill approved on July 3rd. First, because it would only benefit the wealthiest Americans, and second, because it would cut social assistance programs. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the bill could add $3.3 trillion to the federal deficit over the next 10 years and would leave more than 12 million people without health coverage. Republicans, to help finance tax cuts, have added additional restrictions to Medicare, the healthcare program on which millions of disabled and low-income Americans depend. This reckless Republican budget is a moral document, and everybody should vote against it. [Applause] The law adds reforms to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which more than 42 million low-income Americans rely on, potentially causing millions of people to lose benefits. Furthermore, Democrats have denounced that Trump's bill would reduce student loans, eliminating some of the generous loan repayment programs, limiting the federal government's ability to provide aid in the student sector. They do not feel the daily pain of the people. These attacks are against our rights to public health, also to welfare benefits. So it is absurd that the government is going to shut down because they cannot agree on our right to public health. They could end that at any time, but they are not interested. With this kind of government, it should not happen. They are interested in it happening. They want to continue making more money without paying any taxes. Uh, we already have individuals who are so rich, uh, that their fortune is equivalent to much more than many countries in the world, and this inequality will continue to grow and grow. The United States government shutdown is on track to be the longest in history. Trump refused to negotiate with Democrats before traveling to Asia. At the same time, Democrats demand that Donald Trump's government provide relief to more than 20 million Americans whose health insurance premiums will increase in January of next year. Despite Republican Senator John Thune promising a future vote on renewing health sector subsidies as soon as the government reopens, Democratic leaders do not trust it and consider it insufficient because it is not an agreement but a partisan plan that would be used by Republicans for the next elections. On the stage is the payment to the military, which a billionaire donor, a friend of Donald Trump, has already paid. This is indeed a symbol of transparency and has nothing to do with corruption, but federal civilian employees did not have the same luck. Since 1980, US administrations have shut down the government 15 times. The longest shutdown was during Donald Trump's first administration in late 2018, lasting 35 days. The recent government shutdown occurred on October 1st, after Republicans and Democrats failed to reach an agreement on the approval of the budget law for fiscal year 2025-2026. According to Ana Wong, chief US economist at Bloomberg Economics, the government shutdown will cause a slight temporary increase in the unemployment rate, which would return to 4.3% when the government reopens. [Music] Republicans control both chambers of Congress, but in the Senate, at least eight Democratic votes are needed to approve the temporary spending bill that reduces subsidies for social assistance. As long as both parties do not reach an agreement, the government shutdown will remain in effect. This is the great contradiction. When it comes to our benefits, the government is closed. When it comes to ICE, when it comes to raids, when it comes to the Pentagon, when it comes to war, uh, against Palestine, against Venezuela, against Haiti, against China, against Russia, uh, there is no shutdown. So, we can appreciate the priorities of this government and all politicians. They are interested in pretending to be resistance, uh, but they are not. So it is up to us; it is not the Republicans or the Democrats who will provide any solution to these issues. Uh, the solution must come from our consciousness, unity, and resistance. And we are seeking for more people, more workers, to break with a system that promises us war, that promises us more poverty, and does not promise us a future, uh, where our children can have great opportunities today. You might ask, if the United States is in chaos, how does Donald Trump dare to open a war front in the Caribbean? The answer is simple. They need to distract the population and blame a foreign enemy for all their ills. That is why Venezuela and Colombia are now desirable for Washington's interests. They need their resources and the drug route to oxygenate their economy. The "No Kings" marches will continue to reject Donald Trump's aggression in the world, wanting to be the master of humanity's destiny. And the American people are already waking up.
