For you to be depressed, you have to delete all the things in your life you can be grateful for.
>> I see what you're saying.
>> How many get this before we go further? Raise your hand if you get it.
For you to be happy, you have to delete all the things that would piss you off or upset you or make you sad.
>> Yeah.
>> So, you've begun to generalize about your life. Certain things that you like, certain things you don't like. A beautiful state is not based on distortion and deletion and generalization.
In a beautiful state is coming to the reality of life is a gift and whatever I got in front of me is a gift. That doesn't mean I'm going to be happy about it, but I'm going to be in a beautiful state. I'm going to be curious or I'm going to be grateful or I'm going to have awe or I'm going to get excited or I'm going to think about this and find a new answer. I'm going to feel like I'm on a mission. Those are all beautiful states. It isn't all rah rah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> Isn't all isn't all external. Like I remember one time years ago somebody said to me, you know, are you really I forget what they said. Are you really happy or something like that? And I thought what? I'm so happy. And they go, when are you going to tell your face about it? I thought, well, that's an interesting question. My happiness was so internal. Enjoyment to me is so large that it extends. But I can be in a very peaceful state and be happy. How many can relate to this? You don't have to be hyper happy. It's just like happy is just a peaceful state. You've generalized that the good states are only super exertive states and especially serving others.
>> Yeah.
>> Because that makes you feel good about yourself which is a beautiful thing. But the gift you could give yourself is decide I'm going to be in a beautiful state in any time. And a beautiful state is on those days I wake up and exhausted and be honoring I'm exhausted. I've been pouring all this out. I'm gonna take half a day or two hours or a day for me so I can give more to others because I love being able to give to others. Not I'm depressed, which is the word you give to it. And by the way, she's not depressed. But when she starts using that, she will be depressed.
I used to be depressed when I got kicked out of my house by my dad. I have four fathers. My father got last one got kicked out. I loved him. My mom chased me out with a knife. I knew she wouldn't kill me, but I wasn't sticking around. But then I was totally depressed. And then one day I realized, man, in this depressed state, I had times thinking, do I need to even be here? This is a state that I cannot afford to live in.
