stop waiting for motivation.

You are waiting for motivation right now. Like right this second, you are probably thinking about something you should be doing, but you're watching this video instead because you don't feel motivated to do it. And that feeling you're waiting for, that burst of energy that's going to make you want to clean your room or go to the gym or start a project, it's never coming.

Stop waiting for motivation. It's crazy how everyone just sits around waiting for this magical feeling to hit them before they do anything. And realistically, it's never going to come. You are just sitting there rotting away for some like magic moment that's going to make you suddenly want to do all the you've been putting off. And I'm telling you right now, that feeling doesn't exist.

You know what motivation actually is? It's literally just an excuse people use to not do Oh, I'm not motivated today. Oh, I don't feel motivated. Oh, I need to find my motivation. Shut up. You know, like realistically, you're just scared to start because it actually means trying or you know, whatever it is. You might fail or you might think you're not as special as you are. I It could be anything.

Everyone thinks motivation comes first, then action. But that's completely backwards. You know, action creates motivation, not the other way around. You do the thing first, even when you feel horrible, and then maybe if you're lucky, you feel good about it after, but probably not. And that's fine because feeling good isn't the point. Getting stuff done is the point.

Think about it like this. You wake up every morning, you brush your teeth, right? Are you motivated to brush your teeth? No. You just do it because that's what normal people do. You don't want to be a sicko. You don't sit there waiting for your toothbrushing motivation to strike. You just grab the toothbrush and move your arm for 2 minutes. It's not that deep. But for some reason, when it comes to anything that might actually improve your life, suddenly you need this whole support system and the perfect mood and like your stars to align.

You know what successful people do, right? They just do the thing. Unsuccessful people just wait to feel like doing the thing. I'm pretty sure like 90% of people who are saying they're waiting for motivation are really just putting things off, but they don't want to admit it because that sounds lazy. But waiting for motivation sounds like you're being smart. No, you're not being smart. You're just scared or Yeah, lazy. You're just lazy.

You've gotten so used to feeling like about not doing anything that it's actually become normal to you. The guilt you feel about not working out or not studying or not going after what you want, that becomes normal. And normal feels safe, even when it's literally ruining your life.

And here's where people really mess up. They think motivation is this crazy feeling like you're going to wake up one day ready to take the world on. But realistically, most days you're going to feel horrible. You're not going to feel like waking up. You're going to wish you're dead. Most days your bed is going to feel better than your job, gym, or your desk or wherever you need to be. And that's completely normal. That's how everyone feels. The difference is some people do it anyway and some people don't.

The really messed up part is social media has everyone thinking that motivated people are just naturally happy and excited all the time. You see these people posting like their 5 a.m. workouts with big smiles and quotes and you think, "Wow, they must really love this. Like they must be so motivated." And most times, yeah, it has become easy to them. It's become a custom. But I promise you, at the beginning, they were probably not motivated. Sometimes people hate it as much as you would, but they do it anyway because that's either their job or they understand something you don't. That waiting for the perfect feeling is waiting forever.

Motivation doesn't last even when you get it. Maybe you watch a video or read something that gets you hyped for like 10 minutes and you're like, "Yeah, this is it. This [clears throat] is awesome. I'm going to change my life." And then what? An hour later, you're back doom scrolling on Instagram cuz uh I catch myself doing that sometimes.

You're probably never going to feel ready to do the hard things. You're never going to wake up excited to eat healthy or study for that test or have that hard conversation with a partner or your friend or apply for the job you want. Your brain just wants to avoid everything and anything uncomfortable. And all of those things are uncomfortable. So, your brain is always going to try to talk you out of it. And if you're waiting for your brain to suddenly change its mind and starts cheering you on, you're going to die waiting.

Back to the successful people talk. They don't feel like doing most of the they do either. You think athletes are happy to train when it's freezing or when it feels like they're standing on the sun sometimes? Or you think writers are just pumped to stare at a blank page for hours? No. They just do it because that's what needs to be done.

And there is a small percentage of people cuz there's no way people still think like this. But people say, "But what if I try and fail? What if I start going to the gym and I don't see results? What if I start that business and it doesn't work out? What if? What if? What if?" You probably will fail at first cuz everyone does. But at least you'll fail going forward instead of failing by doing nothing. Right now, you're making sure you fail by not starting. You're so scared of maybe failing that you're choosing to definitely fail instead.

When I was in high school, I just look at tests and be like, "Yeah, I'm going to fail this. I'm going to bomb this. There's no way." But instead of just not writing anything, you know, I I I tried a little bit. You know, I'm I'm not going to say, "Oh yeah, I came out with an A or even a B or C." I got a D. I I would get D's if I just at least tried a little bit. And that's a huge difference from getting a low F. A big difference. That saves you another year from probably taking the class again.

The things you need to do to improve your life aren't even [music] that hard. Going to the gym for 30 minutes, 45 minutes isn't hard. Reading for 20 minutes isn't hard. Applying for one job isn't hard. Having one honest conversation isn't hard. We've just built them up in our heads to be these huge things because that gives us an excuse not to do them. But realistically, life-changing habits take like an hour a day max. You waste more time than just scrolling through Tik Tok or YouTube or whatever you're into. You have the time, you have the energy, you just don't have the balls to actually do it because it means you can't make excuses anymore.

You know, people love to make this stuff complicated. They need the perfect workout plan before they even start working out or what's best for them. They need the perfect study method. They need the perfect business idea before they even start working on something. No, you don't. You need to just figure out as you go because I promise you perfect doesn't exist. And even if it did, you wouldn't know it because you'll have no experience to compare it to.

Most of you already know exactly what you need to do. Like if I asked you right now, what's one thing you can do today to make your life better? You'd have an answer right away. You know, go for a walk, clean your room, call that person back, I don't know, finish an assignment, stop eating junk, stop eating so many calories, whatever it is. You know what it is, but you're not doing it because you're waiting to feel like doing it.

Think about it like this. Motivation is kind of insulting. You're basically saying that you need to be in a special mood to take care of yourself. You need to feel inspired to be a normal adult or teen. That's weak. Imagine if everyone acted like that. Everyone [music] would be like an NPC and we'd probably all die off.

Deep down, people know this. I think everyone knows that waiting for motivation is But admitting that means admitting you've been wasting time and nobody wants to face that. It's easier to keep waiting and hope that tomorrow will be different even though tomorrow is going to be exactly the same because you're going to be exactly the same. The only way things change is if you change. And the only way you change is by doing different things. And the only way you do different things is by not waiting for permission from your feelings to do them. Your feelings don't care about your goals. Your feelings just want you to be comfortable and safe. and comfortable and safe is where dreams go to die.

Another thing like I wanted to add is that people who wait for motivation usually have this whole story about why they [music] can't start yet. Like, oh, I need to wait until after the holidays. I need to wait until I have more money. I need to wait until things calm down at work or I need to wait until I'm better in the head. Are you crazy? There's always just something. There's always an excuse. There's always going to be an excuse if you're looking for one. Like life doesn't stop and give you your perfect window to get your life together. There is no right time. There's just time and you're either using it or wasting it.

Every day you wait is a day you could have been getting better. A day you could have been building something. A day you could have been becoming who you want to be, but instead you're sitting there waiting for a feeling that doesn't exist. And you know what's really sad? Some people wait their whole lives, their whole lives waiting to feel ready to do things they want to do. They die with all their dreams still inside them because they never felt motivated enough to let them out. Imagine being on your deathbed thinking about all the things you wanted to do but didn't because you were waiting to feel like it.

Or maybe you were just too scared. It's not even like big dreams either. It's also little stuff, too. People wait to tell someone they love them. They wait to apologize. They wait to try a new hobby. They wait to take a trip. They wait to [music] start the conversation. They just wait. It's just waiting. It's just a waiting game to them.

We've all been programmed to think we need to feel good about doing something before we even do it. As kids, we only did stuff we wanted to do. And our parents had to force us to do everything else. But you're not a kid no more, aren't you? You can't wait for mommy and daddy to make you do your homework or eat your vegetables or clean your room. You have to literally be an adult now. And that means doing things you don't want to do.

Motivation is for beginners. And professionals just show up. They don't need to feel good about it. They don't need to be excited. They don't need a pep talk. They just do what needs to be done because that's what they committed to. And before you say like, "I'm not a professional. I'm just trying to get my life together." That's exactly the point. You're not a professional because you're still waiting for motivation.

And like I said at the beginning of the video, people will spend hours watching motivational videos like this one, reading motivational quotes, listening to motivational podcast, and then they do absolutely nothing with all that motivation they supposedly just got. It's like they're addicted to the feeling of being motivated without actually having to do anything. It's like the same thing with me. You know, I I watch some finance videos on how to save money. Well, I have a horrible spending problem. I I'll be honest. It's not It's not the greatest, but I do spend I do spend a little bit. Like, I actually need to implement those things that I watch cuz I'm just wasting time watching videos like that. I might as well just watch videos of how to blow my money more.

in someone's life right now is that they go on Instagram or Tik Tok and they see a bunch of workout videos or a bunch of lowc calorie meals, just all these things, you know, motivational quotes or whatever. You save them. You don't like them cuz you don't want other people to see it, but you save it. You put it in this nice little nice little saved that says, you know, habits or something in there. Uh, weight loss, anything like that. You never open that though. You never open it to actually use it. You just save stuff in there. What's the point? Just don't even see those videos. There's no point. You're being stupid.

A thing that like just pisses me off is people act like being unmotivated is some kind of mental health issue that needs to be like fixed before they can function. Oh, I have no motivation. Something must be wrong with me. I need to figure out why I'm not motivated before I can do anything. H must be like my ADHD or something. I got PTSD from like Battlefield 6. Like nothing's wrong with you. You're just lazy. You just don't want to do anything. Like, yeah, if you're obviously depressed or dealing with real mental health stuff, that's different. Get help for that. But most people, you know, they're not depressed. They're just comfortable being lazy. And they've labeled it as lacking motivation because that sounds better.

There's a big difference between can't and won't. And most of you won't, not can't. And I'm going to say it again. We've been sold this lie that everything should feel good. Like life should be easy and comfortable and fun all at the same time. And if it's not, something's wrong. But that's not how life works. Life is hard. Life's uncomfortable. Life is boring all of the time. And that's okay. That's what you sign up for when you decide to be a person.

But everyone wants that Instagram version of life. You know, everyone has their own algorithms feeding them whatever they want. Someone might be into, you know, scamming people. They want that luxury life of just scamming people with courses, whatever, you know, stuff like that. We got guys and girls watching, you know, routines on how to lose weight or just these people's day-to-day lives and they're not, you know, implementing anything and just watching it and just thinking, "Wow, they they could do all that. Wow." Yeah. And you can you can literally be that person.

Like if you had or have parents or grandparents or whoever raised you, do you think they were motivated to go to work every day? Now, some people can say yes to that. I don't know what their parents do or whoever they're with do. Might be a really fun job. But to the 99% of people, do you think they were motivated to do hours of work every day just for a huge chunk of their money to be split in half by bills and by feeding you and raising you? And for some people, you know, giving everything you wanted. They didn't have that luxury of waiting for motivation.

And the funny thing is that people that wait to do things, they complain that nothing ever happens for them. Like, yeah, like no kidding, nothing happens to you. Nothing ever is going to happen for you. Are you waiting for someone just to take like a million dollar for you to walk outside and step on it? No, that's not happening. Life doesn't owe you anything. You have to go take what you want. And you can't take anything sitting on your ass waiting to be inspired.

And talking about inspiration, you know, nowadays, I kind of feel like inspiration is just overrated. People see things or go to specific places just to try to feel inspired. They watch something, whatever it is, they pay for it, and they want to feel inspired from it. You know, say like you go to a TED talk. Why do you have to do that? Just do what you want to do. And once you start doing it, you know, momentum is everything at that point. Once you start doing something, if you hate it at first, it gets easier. Not because it becomes fun or because you suddenly get motivated to do it more, but because you build momentum. You prove to yourself that you can do it. And that proof is worth way more than all the motivation in the world. But you'll never get that momentum if you're just waiting to feel ready. You have to start before you're ready.

And there's always going to be fear. Fear is always going to be there. You're always going to be scared of failing, scared of looking stupid, scared of wasting time, scared of not being good enough. A lot of people still have fear going to the gym. Now, to that, I say two things. Get a homeset gym then if it's such an issue. But if you can't afford that, just go to the gym. At the time when I used to go to the gym before I broke my ankle, there was a lot of big people. I'll be honest. I'll be honest. There was a lot of big people. They're big and they didn't care. They no one cared. So why should you? You should at least just have some courage. People think courage means not being afraid, but that's wrong. Courage means being afraid and doing it anyway. Take Courage the cowardly dog for a great example. With all the he had to go through with all those episodes, you would think he'd be scared to not do them, but he does.

I mean, think about it. Like all the things you've been meaning to do for the last year. If you had just done all of that, where would you be now? you know, probably in a completely different place, you know, mentally, physically, who who knows, maybe even like with job opportunities, you know, it could be anything. I I don't know your life, but like most common I'd say is with people's, you know, bodies, you know, how they feel about their weight. Be a completely different person if you started, you know, those months ago, but you're still at that same spot cuz you didn't start.

And I've had that exact experience before. At this point, I don't even like blame people completely because we kind of live in like a culture that's obsessed with feelings. Everything's about how you feel. Follow your heart. Follow your passion. Do what makes you happy. But your feelings are dumb. Your feelings don't know what's good for you. Your feelings just want comfort and safety. Like I've said before, just instant gratification. If your feelings controlled your entire life, your feelings would just tell you, you know, let's get some Uber Eats, McDonald's. You're spending a huge worthless tax at the same time. So, you're wasting so much money because you just don't want to go out get it yourself. Don't even get McDonald's. What What am I even talking about? But anyway, if you always listen to your feelings, you'd end up fat, broke, alone, and miserable. You should always be in charge of yourself and your feelings not taking over. The same thing that happens with like impulsive decisions.

At this point, I'm kind of losing time, so I kind of want to speed this up. So, I'm going to jump right into a next topic. Stop looking for signs. Stop waiting for the universe to tell you it's time. Stop hoping for some outside validation that you're ready. You're never going to get it. The only sign you need is the fact that you want something different. If you want something different, just do something different. It's that simple.

There are people that literally wait for specifically Tik Tok. Tik Tok they when they scroll, right, it's an algorithm that's feeding to you. And if it's something that it knows will get you just to stay there, to watch this one thing, to get you hooked, just to keep going, it's most likely going to be those videos that have some type of just text on it that says some outlandish stuff about your life that well that possibly resembles your life and you think it's like a sign. And a lot of those cases have to be with like relationships. I hate those videos. Oh my god, I hate them. I really do hate them with like people that break up and see all these videos and they just can't move on. You're a You're the one liking it. you're the one, you know, reposting it, saving it, whatever. You're going to keep seeing it like you're an actual idiot. Social media is meant to just run. You just get off of it and start doing your own things. You know, stop looking at people's highlight reels. You know, if you see other people doing something you want to do, go do it. And all those people, you know, had the same thought. I'm going to hate doing this. But after it's all said and done, you know, they're going to feel a lot better.

You can start changing your life right now, this second, just by doing one small thing differently. But you probably won't because you're addicted to the comfort of waiting. You're addicted to the potential of someday. Someday instead of someday, how about one day? How about instead of one day it's day one? Like if you're looking for motivation, there it is, man. Like that's a that's a good quote. Instead of one day, how about day one?

Anyway, uh that's that's kind of all I wanted to talk about. Um if you want to comment something, go do it. Uh, anything helps for me and also, you know, other people that like looking at comments about people sharing experiences. Someone's going to read your com be like, "Oh yeah, this person kind of resembles me. That's cool." And, you know, it's it goes on from there. Anywh who, stop waiting to feel motivated. Just go do it. And I'll see you guys next time. Bye.
