Um, the specifics of the actual planet-to-planet aspect. So, we're going to be talking more in general about how each of the aspects work, and I'll be able to take questions at the end regarding any of your specific aspects. And I'm probably going to add a couple of playful exercises that we'll come in and start practicing with next week after we get some some knowledge in our cup this week. Okay.
So, let me pull up where we are at. I'm sure I have a little bit of editing to do on these because of who I am as a person. Um, so we're going to be understanding the planetary relationships that happen as a result of aspects. Um, and you know what? I am going to put this actually in the chat so I can have the best of both worlds here. Uh, can we do more of the time? There we go. All right.
So, what is an aspect? Aspects are the relationships between planets that happen as a result of the geometric angle that they form. So 30° has a meaning, 36° has a meaning, 25° has a meaning, 90 degrees has a meaning. The numerology is the basis of everything in archetypal life and is what astrology actually comes out of because that is how we basically measure everything. Everything is waves, fields, particles, and um a form of math. And numerology is the way that we understand how we attribute different meanings to numbers. Everything is archetypal. Astrology teaches that. And aspects have a specific archetypal meaning based on the angle, the numbers that are the basis of the meaning of that angle. So it doesn't matter what planets are in a particular geometric geometric relationship, they will always have that type of conversation that is happening between them. So when we study aspects, we are studying how different parts of the psyche communicate, cooperate, ignore each other, or come into conflict because that's what the different angles are going to show us.
So we're going to begin at the very beginning and go to the culmination of everything in this particular course. We are going to be learning from conjunction to opposition. What that unfolding process looks like. And it helps us to understand why the particular aspects function the way they do, mean what they do, and how they combine our different processes, our different archetypal functions to show success or failure. And what our particular belief is about those particular needs. Planets archetypal forces being in relationship with each other because some planets are going to find functional ease in some types of geometric relationships. Sometimes some types of aspects, others it's going to be more of a challenge depending on what those functions are and how they are intersecting with each other. So aspects very much show our particular belief and thoughts about how we will get to or more intersecting needs met.
So this is why aspects show complexes. We don't see that with just planets. We can see some functional ease or difficulty based on planets coming through certain signs. We know from just knowing basic astrology, which everybody in here is aware of, that there are domiciles, there are uh planets of uh signs of exaltation, detriment, fall. And that shows us a basic understanding of how a particular need will get its needs met. But it does not show us specifically problem or complex. That is where we have to look at what kind of aspect we've got. And so if we have planets that have that first point of potential difficulty because they are coming through certain signs and compounded by oftentimes coming through certain houses that they don't do well in or that they can struggle in. When we then layer an aspect that's difficult on top of that, we're beginning to see obvious struggles and descriptions of problems that are going to be needed needing to be solved. When we have planets that are coming through signs of ease or they're neutral or relatively easy to get those needs met and then we have say a difficult alignment aspect angle, we um still have some kind of something to work out, some kind of conflict, some kind of um belief about getting those needs met. That is going to lead to some lessons and and to some growth, but it is not as much of a red flag as signs that are starting out already in a type of struggle because they're coming through a sign they don't do well in. That's a basic thing to always keep in mind when you're looking at aspects is astrology shows us extreme conditions based on weight and cumulative effect. And that's what studying astrologies help um aspects really helps us to understand is what kind of cumulative effect effect are we seeing accumulating difficulties accumulating factors that if you get enough of them can result in an extreme condition. Just having one or maybe two compounding factors, it um it'll bring you some lessons, but it uh often won't make the history books like really um the struggling planets because there is accumulated weight of difficulty.
I'm just going to do the share thing here because I'm not able to put in multiple pictures successfully into the notes. Um, and I'll send you guys these pages here um once a week. So, planetary compatibility. So, I talked about that already because I got ahead of myself. We are going to look at orbs of influence. So, this is the degrees that aspects are close or apart. When we have an orb of influence, we have a circle of possibility, a zone of possibility. So, orbs determine strength and precision is going to help us determine meaning. This is why we want to get really precise when we're looking at how close boards are. So the closer an aspect is to exact, the more powerful it is. An exact aspect is strongly felt and can act as a dominant influence in the chart even if it is a minor minor minor aspect. Aspects do not operate as fixed points. They operate within a range. That range is called an orb. So, it's like a hula hoop that is around particular planets that will encompass more or less degrees depending on that particular um aspect. As two planets move toward an exact angle, the influence of the aspect builds. So this is where we have approaching aspects that are more powerful in their urgency and are typically more immature in their expression with more wisdom or uh self-reflection with separating aspects. So we reach a maximum strength at exact and then gradually decrease as the planets separate. The effect does not suddenly begin or end at a single degree. It increases and fades. The size of the orb depends on the type of aspect and the planets involved. Conjunctions involving the sun or moon can operate with wide orbs, sometimes up to 10 degrees due to the strength of the luminaries. Other aspects generally require tighter ranges in order to be clearly felt. And in traditional astrology and in Vedic astrology, even just the sun and the moon being in the signs that indicate um an aspect is also something that does show the particular outcomes of that. So the sun and the moon and square signs, the sun and the moon in a sign of conjunction even if they're at the opposite ends. One is at zero, one is at 29 degrees. They are still going to have some kind of functional relationship based on the meaning of the particular signs, how well those signs do or do not operate with each other. If we have sun and moon and opposite signs, we'll still get that general effect of an opposition in conjunct signs, etc. Minor aspects require the tightest orbs and there isn't a lot of universal consensus about orbs. There is probably more agreement about orbs than there is about a lot of things in astrology, but this is something that you could find a different answer on depending on the astrologer that you ask. And as you learn more and more about astrology and you become masterful in astrology, you will likely decide for yourself what those orbs are uh based on your own experience and observation. So keep an open mind about it. But for the sake of this class, you're going to learn the stuff that I know and the stuff that I think. And then you can always change your mind later because we have to have a place to start. Allowing a wide orb can result in misidentifying the aspect entirely if it is a minor aspect. What appears to be one aspect may in fact be another with a different meaning if we're looking at the precise orb. For this reason, precision becomes more important as the aspects become more refined. I don't have any typos in here. If I do, Tusca will tell me. All right.
So, squares up to 8 degrees. Um, a lot of times we're going to look at them at 5° or less. And Yen, if you see anything that needs to be refined on this list, let me know and I will edit it. Yen and Tusca are finished apprentices. So, you'll find that um they're quite helpful. Sex tiles up to five degrees, semi-squares up to three degrees. In conjunctions. One, two degrees at the max. Sometimes will allow for three degrees, but then we're going to run into more minor aspects. Semisexiles, one degree, one and a half degrees, septiles, noiles, quentiles, diles, the minor, minor, minor baby aspects, one to one and a half degrees maximum because we're going to easily run into other minor degrees if we extend those orbs. Aspects involving asteroids are typically no more than three degrees. And traditionally, we used to keep those real close, no more than two degrees, but now we could go from from 3 to 5 degrees, depending on what the asteroid is. We can allow for larger orbs if it's a well-known asteroid that has a more common presence in our modern life. But for most asteroids, we're going to keep it to three degrees. So when we're working with minor aspects, it's important to stay within those tight orbs. For example, a semisex tile at 30° operates within approximately one degree, a little bit more. If the orb is extended too far, it is going to shift into a different angular relationship. So at 32° it's no longer a semisexile. It's coming into an undile which is different than a semisexile. So what looks like a wider semisexile aspect is not going to be that at all if you look at it more closely. If you're aware of minor aspects, a lot of people aren't. So, accuracy in degree separation really determines accuracy and interpretation. Okay. Yeah, Tusca. Um, Jewel, I was just wondering, uh, what you were saying about the orbs and how, of course, the tighter the orb, uh, you know, that's going to be the more powerful aspect. Um, but let's say you're looking at somebody's chart and um they have a very tight orb between well I don't know let's say between Venus square Saturn okay and it's very tight but however um the Venus is um part of a uh chart pattern that has that is at wider orbs. So um but it's still a chart pattern. So um how are we going to read something in that case?
>> So the pattern is present but the particularities of the problem or asset uh depending on if it's a good or difficult angle that's going to be the loudest part of the pattern. That's going to be like um the most acute issue or problem that's related to the configuration.
>> Well, um uh okay. So, okay, fine. That was part of my question as well that you answered. But let's say that um there is the square that I mentioned. Let's say that that square is not part of the configuration but it's extremely tight but the Venus so let's say Venus is part of let's say Venus is part of a kite okay and then Venus is also squaring Saturn so the square to Saturn is a standalone and then Venus is part of this kite pattern so let's say that the kite pattern is operating at a wider orb than the square to Saturn Um, do we still read the square to Saturn as um the most prominent aspect there or Yeah. Do you you get what I'm asking?
>> Yeah. Yeah. That's still going to be the most acute problem out
>> but it's being picked up.
>> Yeah.
>> And put into the stream of the kite extremely easily. So the chances of it being um because it it if it's involved in a k mostly good stuff the chances of it being put into that stream
>> of good stuff and um it having a good effect or being cleaned up or integrated are very high.
>> Yeah. Has look at the kite as a filtration system.
>> Yeah.
>> Or like a a water filter, like a Brita filter. Um
>> where you have like what I have where it's it's the pitcher with the filter on the top.
>> Yeah.
>> And so we're going to put the the water through that and the whatever poisons or heavy metals are contained in that that's figuratively that's square. It's going to be much easier to have that process and filter through and then lend a good result.
>> Right. So okay. So because that square between Venus and Saturn is would be at a tight orb that is going to be the um I guess what overwhelms. However, because that square is connected to that kite that um you know like you said a lot of that heavy-duty kind of difficulty it it does have a place to go anyway. So it is going to um uh I guess you know it's like you said it's much easier to integrate. Okay. But but yeah. Okay. Fine.
>> So um so this is the unit that we just came out of in our uh apprentice class. So I think TUSA is still um in that vein. So some people might not may not be introduced to that concept yet of certain aspects being a circuit, a type of circuit.
>> And when we have multiple aspects that are communicating with each other, we can have something that's like a closed circuit like a T-square that's not making any other aspects to anything else. Or we can have something like Tusca's describing. We have one heart aspect that's communicating with a lot of other aspects that's more of a flowing open circuit. So we will talk about that I'm sure as we go along
>> um and build that into what it is that we're figuring out. But
>> sorry, thank you J. Go on ahead. Thank you. Um, Lolly,
>> hello there. I was going to ask uh taking into consideration the same example as a Venus and square to um Saturn aspect if Venus is approaching and is just over 5° over let's say which is more or less the limit I mean I know that we can consider up to 8 degrees but generally it's between 5 degrees or less So that's just over five degrees or but is approaching. Would you consider it as weak or um would you consider it as well? It's still quite far away but it's kind of building. So how would you consider it in consider
>> in relation to what could be uh not a perfect uh perfect square but
>> very very good question. I will put a paragraph specifically about that in the workbook. That's a really really good point. Um, it is not going to be one of the most acute things. Even though it's approaching, it's still um wide enough to have some space or some breathing room. Now, if it's separating, it will be noticeably weaker. Um, so it if you have other close aspects that are closer than that five degree orb that you're describing, even though it's approaching, those will still be more um acute or heavier. Uh, they will be more of a thing.
>> Okay. And what if Saturn has got multiple aspect but Venus is the only aspect let's say that Venus has
>> that's the only
>> which is unlikely because probably there are some other small aspects but
>> if it's the only aspect that Venus is making then that will be a pretty pure combination of factors there. Um, the wants and needs and preferences combining with austerity or um and conservativeness. It will be a pretty heavy theme in the choosing of life, the preferences of life, but it will still not be as a acute problem or overriding factor in the personality as other aspects in the chart that are closer. It's always the closest aspects that have the most influence in our life even if it's a minor minor aspect.
>> Okay. So, it's not going to be a major deal for this person because even though it might be slightly
>> I don't I don't think I can answer that without seeing the whole chart.
>> Okay. But from what I'm hearing, um,
>> unless there's other things that are really close, I it doesn't sound like it's going to be the biggest thing.
>> Thank you.
>> Yeah. All righty.
>> Well, I just have one quick question. Um, the vertex, I would guess, are you going to use one to two on that for an orb?
>> Um, no one's asked me that in like decades. Um, I don't look at the vertex very often. I I No, put five degrees on either side of the vertex.
>> Wow. Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> Thanks. Mhm. Um I should do a workshop on the vertex.
>> Yeah, it's a very confusing one. People need it.
>> Yeah, I should do that. I haven't talked about that bad boy in a while. Okay, so let's look at the conjunction. So this is the very very beginning and I should have put a picture of an eclipse on here. I meant to do that because that is very much descriptive of um see if I even have one here of how it operates. We do not have one. So, we know that when we have an eclipse that the sun and the moon are on top of each other. They're fused. And that's what we get when we have a conjunction. The sun and the moon are together. So, this is the new moon. Any planets that are involved in a conjunction have that effect of the new moon implantation, the beginning. And the conjunction occurs when two planets occupy the same degree of the zodiac if it is an exact conjunction. But we can allow some room on either side for conjunctions to be a thing. They are at least going to be occupying the same sign. Very occasionally we can see an out of sign conjunction. This is there's no consensus on this. Again, this is my teaching. The only way we can have an out of sign conjunction is if we have one planet at 0 degrees and one at 29° and then it is a more complex conjunction. It's like an in conjunction conjunction. And we can get into that later as we get through this series. But most of the time, conjunctions are unified. That's why they're conjunctions. They're in the same sign. They have the same way. They have that same motivation. The closer they are, the more unconscious they operate because they are two things on top of each other. So they have that same channel of expression. They're not relating to each other. They're fused. And this creates intensity. Relationship is more described by the opposition where we can clearly see another. We have a hard time being a relationship with others with with conjunctions because we're actually in a type of relationship with our self. And they do have a selfish connotation to them because all of the planets that we're going to be or aspects that we'll be talking about today from conjunction to semisexile operate within the same sign. Everything is within the same style. So conjunctions have this fusion. They are uh they they act together. They are never experienced independently. So one immediately triggers the other. There's no space to pause, separate, or choose between them. And this is why we're usually older before we solve our conjunctions or completely realize we're there, that they're there, because usually we're so blind to them that somebody has to take us by the shoulders and like shake us and get in our face and say, "Don't you know how you are? Don't you understand how and who you are?" And then we might listen to it. But with conjunctions we you know have some realization then we usually fall back asleep and it's it's a very complex way for two needs to relate to each other. In traditional astrology the we we always look at conjunctions as easy aspects. I don't know where that comes from because that's lazy astrology. There are some planets that do not make good neighbors uh like oil and water. If you don't understand the needs, if we don't, sorry, I'm laughing on the audio here that I have to send to people because Tusca just made a funny comment. If we don't understand the particular needs involved, then we may miss the nuance of the success or or failure of a conjunction. So the individual does not experience two separate parts. They experience a single identity containing both functions at once. So the functional expression of the conjunction is that it can increase the likelihood of success when two planets are a compatible pair. The functions reinforce each other and energy is concentrated rather than divided. Action becomes direct, focused and difficult to ignore. However, the conjunction can also decrease the likelihood of success when the planets have conflicting needs or operate at different speeds. Conjunctions have the flavor of Aries because they are of the first house. We're looking at the zero degree point in Aries to the 180 degree point in Libra when we're understanding how aspects work and why they work and what they're dividing. The division of the zodiac is a blueprint for the division of the psyche and the ultimate integration of the psyche. And even though we have no division here, it does not mean that we have success because there's an unconsciousness here that happens. The conjunction does not create cooperation. It creates identification because there's no separation. There's no ability to distinguish which function is driving behavior at any given moment. Both forces act at the same time through the same impulse and they are impulsive aspects to have. Success depends on the nature of the planets involved because some conjunctions we may never have to work on. They can act like trines in their effects because they are good neighbors and we won't have to spend any real time solving those. When unconscious, the conjunction can produce compulsive or automatic behavior. Sometimes it doesn't matter because it won't produce problems. When conscious, it becomes a point of strength, focus and integration. But we have to become aware of our natural way of being with a conjunction because that's the kind of language that we use when we have one. That's just how I am. When it's an opposition, we always say that's just how you are. And now that and that's so that's what the way that's why I have to be this way. But we have this simplicity of um just declaring uh any problems that come up. Uh, our answer to that is well, that's just, you know, how I am. And we neglect to take into account that maybe we shouldn't be that way. The conjunction is the seed state of all aspects. It represents unity before differentiation where experience has not yet been divided. The psyche, the self has not yet been divided into parts that can observe or adjust to one another. So with conjunctions, we have the fusion without separation. It's separation that makes us understand what relationship is. And we have two functions compressed into one experience. Okay. Do we have any questions about that before we move on?
Um Joel, when you said that how um it depends some conjunctions can function like trines that's what you said right uh so how do you determine that is it if the yeah
>> if they love each other like sun and Venus we can get really good stuff out of that or planets that just make the best neighbors um if they're naturally trying and then they come to an a conjunction we can get really good results out of them. It just depends. Um, so we'll I'm sure touch on all of those combinations.
>> Okay. Sure. Sure. Thank you.
>> Yeah, good question. Um, so let us look at Oh, and first let me point out these pictures a little bit. Let's talk a little bit more about this before we move on. So the two can exist at the same time. So this would be like a sun Pluto combination. This would be a Mars Saturn combination. And we may not realize that we are showing the other when we are being the one and others can see it. Um, because we're hiding something from ourself. This is really the creator playing hide-and-seek to the maximum degree. The um universe, the the one, the monad seeks to know itself through as many different types of experience as it can have. And the conjunction is where it's all the same thing. And it it that that fusion that oneness is simple. And as we go through and we start the process of division, waking up to who and what we are, we experience more and more complexity. So we have this first stage of simplicity and now we're coming into the 15 degree aspect and there isn't consensus about the names of some of the aspects, particularly the very very small minor aspects. Um, the I'm sure that someday there will be the minor aspects will be well known enough where we will have broad agreement about what we should call them, but we're just going to call them what we call them for now and not worry about it because we all know what we're talking about here. So when we're talking about the 15 degree aspect, this is that first division and it's happening within the same sign. Let's look at it all within Aries today. Everything's happening within the sign of Aries. And the meaning of Aries, which is that first burst of life, is very simple. It's basic. It's impulse. So with with the Dao, it's that first step away from oneness, away from unity, and really represents that those first months of life where we have been born and we're in a process of realizing where we are. There is not a lot of concern for the world at this point. So at the conjunction there was no separation. There's only oneness. At 15° the unity begins to divide. This is the first dawning awareness of being separate. We're not inside the mother anymore. That's the conjunction. That's the monad. Now we have the ability to see outside of ourself outside of where we were outside of the womb to regard our parents. So because this is the first division, division's very subtle, these are extremely subtle aspects and there's no conflict, there's no problem, there's just the beginning of awareness and that's all that these are going to show us is where do we have between planets a type of clear awareness. These aspects aspects don't ask anything of us. The Dao aspect represents the earliest stage of consciousness. We're no longer fully unified, but we're still very close to the source. Look how the baby is close to the mother. This is not an aspect that produces action. Nothing's being done. It's a state of awareness without intention. There's nothing to do. So at 15° the psyche begins to recognize itself as something distinct but it does not have the language or structure to understand what that means. There's no meaning that is implied in the Dao. That's why we don't have action or or anything that needs to be done. So we're aware of what we are but we do not yet know what we are because we don't have concept involved in here that is a restricting factor. So the individual is just beginning to recognize that they're separate but there is no distress or conflict in that recognition. This is why we don't have problems between uh planets are 15 degrees. It's not an something that again has to be acted on. So the functional expression of this aspect is the Dao creates a subtle ongoing awareness of individuality. Doesn't create tension. It does not create effort. It doesn't put us in a state of motion or direction. There's no impulse to act. Planets in the 15 degree aspect are having a simple conversation. No goal, no objective, no sense of purpose because there's no language yet. There's no structured thought. So without thought, there's no division into problems or solutions. So consciousness and development, the Dao aspect introduces the condition of me. It's not the result of difficulty. It's not a reaction to conflict. It's simply the recognition that we are not the whole anymore. Look at how the baby is outside of the mother regarding the mother. We're just beginning to see the difference between you and me. So, we're separate, but we're not yet divided. We are still being cradled. We're still being carried. There's still this essential connection to source. So because this aspect occurs within the same sign, there's no difference in motivation or style between the planets. And this makes the Dao aspect essentially harmonious. There's no comparison, no contrast, no tension. We're in that space between awareness and thought. We know that we are, but we do not yet have the concepts to define ourselves. Planets in that Dao aspect exist in the state of nonactionable awareness. So it's the first recognition of self without conflict or intention because intention means that we have to act on something. We intend. The doubt does not create a problem. It just creates awareness. So these are not the most important aspects to even look up or be aware of in your own chart because again it there's nothing that needs to be fixed or addressed. It's good to know where we have this essential strength of unity of awareness because say we have a 15 degree aspect between the sun and Venus and we know that they don't uh ever get very far away from each other. Let's say they're just 15° apart. There's enough separation where we don't have the problems of the conjunction which is codependency wanting everybody to like us um being unaware of how we can be a chameleon and um you know and sometimes we can even be a dandy depending on which sign it's in. Uh, we need to be liked. See, there's problems that we can run into with conjunctions related to lack of self-awareness. When we get to the 15 degree aspect, they actually are functioning together in a essentially harmonious way where the awareness of who we are and what we want is not having that same automatic effect of layering preferences upon identity.
Yan >> Y I have a question. So let's say we have two planets that are semisexile and then the midpoint there's another planet sitting at the midpoint to this semisexile aspect. So that midpoint planet will be in the dowo aspect to both of the planets. Is that going to compound or help this semisexile? Because you have mentioned that this is like having no direction or actionable uh direction. And so I'm just curious how would you use the language to describe this?
>> Um, so it's like two notes with a semisex tile that are slightly off. But if you have that note in the middle that's resonating with both, that's where we do have some harmony. It is bringing some type of Yeah. harmonious influence. It it's a helpful thing to have something that's at 15 degrees to both because we have division with that first issue problem with a semisex tile. So yeah, I don't know much about music. You're a conductor so he knows everything about music. Um, so when I bring up music adjectives, he just doesn't challenge me. I'm sure he knows I'm totally wrong about it. But it would be like two notes on a piano that aren't really in tune. But you know, there's This is so dumb. I'm going to reveal my stupidity. There's the black keys. Um, sometimes when you hit that black key, it helps. That's as close as I can get. You can explain it better. In fact, I'm sure Yen has a keyboard next to him where he could
>> I actually don't because
>> your metaphor gems with my head, but okay. But still um so you're saying that it's actually helping the semisexile because there is this calming effect there. There is this um grounding uh sensation.
>> Right. Right. Right. Right. So, it's like if we have two friends that don't really hate each other, but they don't love each other, but they both have this friend in the middle that is really easy to get along with. Mhm.
>> It makes it much easier for all three of them to hang out because we have this point of connection uh between the frenemies that soothes or bridges the gap between them. You see,
>> and does that mean that that semisexile the both planets actually have a common thread because there's a vapon planet going through and so instead of a regular semisextile, you are actually looking at a functional or more aware semisexile.
>> Not at first. Um, I think that any semisexile does imply some amount of resolution that's needed. So, we still go through some kind of process of fixing that division or that divide, but for that particular person, it would be they'd have a leg up
>> um because they do have that midpoint of harmony. And I assume that we allow out of sign towel, right? And what would you say is the difference between an inside and then between that to the out of sign towel?
>> The inside no issue um or really anything to pay attention to. If it's out of sign, whatever division is there is not a problem. We're not solving anything. There is this um just awareness of who we are, what's going on, differences and needs, but it's not something that is creating discomfort. It's just an awareness that we
>> uh you know may love enchiladas but um you know we also love Chinese food. We don't there's nothing else to think about.
>> So say because I do have my son in tow aspect and then my son in Kenz in Leo traditionally we will say that that is a bad combination because both are in it. It's in conjunct sign or semisexile sign but however in my case because it is in a doubt aspect so it is actually bringing the two together and you wouldn't find a traditional issue with what what what what's happening with mine.
>> Not if they're linked by a 15 degree aspect.
>> Okay. We'll we'll still have those differences, but they aren't um they don't have an argue with an argument.
>> Okay, cool. Thank you.
>> All right, Tusca. Um, well my question was actually pretty similar to Yen's but I was just going to say um let's say if somebody has got a conjunction or a stellium in fact let's say a stellium that is uh going to be very very difficult to it's going to be even more difficult to bring that kind of awareness of um yourself right so but let's say that we had something at a towel aspect 15° away from the stellium or from one planet in the stellium. Um, is it going to be easier? Of course, it's not an aspect of um intentional action like you say, but because of that awareness, there is a certain amount of awareness that it kind of injects into the stellium, right? So is it going to be easier for the person to be able to uh realize or um you know solve the stellium or the conjunction or at least to be open to the feedback that it brings perhaps?
Why did I invite you to this class? You will find that Tusca and Yen break my brain like regularly. Um, all right. So that's really complex. So if we have a stellium, that is a train of factors.
>> And the closer that stellium is, the more unconsciously those factors or those train cars are fused. So if we have something that's 15 degrees away in a different sign, is that what you
>> the
>> No, it could it could be in the same sign as well or a different sign. Doesn't matter.
>> Different sign is going to be more helpful when it Okay.
>> to bringing some other factor in our way of being a a different need
>> that is in harmonious acceptance or relationship with it either be the caboose have to be the caboose or the engine the beginning or the end of that stellium.
>> Yeah. Exactly. Yeah.
>> So there's a m it's an extremely mild influence. of having this other part of us be somewhat aware of this other part of us that's very impulsive and um often acts without consciousness. So there's something helpful there. It's probably it's not going to save you. You're still going to have to go through a lot of
>> Yeah.
>> waking up to self-awareness and being shaken, making a lot of mistakes with that uh conjunction. If it's in the same sign, you're going to have less of a less of an awareness. Um, it's still going to be essentially part of the same train
>> if it's in the same sign.
>> Okay. Interesting.
>> But it's going to be more helpful in terms of that factor or that part of yourself not being as um likely to act without awareness. Because what you're looking at is like if you have the engine and then the first car and then the second car and then the third car, they're all very very close together.
>> Yeah.
>> And so the motion of the first or the motion of any of those cars is going to very much affect
>> what those four cars. But say and say those are all passenger cars.
>> Yeah.
>> But then you have a space. You have like two cars that are just the platform and they're not loaded with anything.
>> Mhm.
>> And then you have that third or that that fifth or sixth card, the Dow card. The one that's 15 degrees away. He's back here. It doesn't have the same functional impulse
>> like the four fused cars because you have a little bit of room for whatever bumps um motion is happening with the first cards. It somewhat has evened out in that space where there's two other cars are before you get to the caboose
>> there. So the caboose, the planet that's in the DAO aspect, it is still part of more of a impulse to act, but it's not as dumb. concern.
>> Okay.
>> Because planets that are in a in a a stellium, we we do have a a type of denseness or a type of what is it? It's like a it's it's it's impulsiveness without reflection.
>> Yes. Yes.
>> Sometimes that can work in our favor. Many times it won't.
>> Yes.
>> Given the nature of life. So,
>> so there it it does help to smooth things to a certain degree
>> when it comes to outcomes.
>> Yeah. Because I was thinking that uh with stelliums, you know, we can very much like be with the blinders on, you know, and maybe like that towel aspect um kind of like uh you know, expands the what we can see maybe ever so slightly but um still I mean it's something you know it's uh so uh Joel would you would you think that it might make a difference if that towel aspect was hitting the first planet in the stellium rather than the last planet.
Oh, I don't think I've ever answered that before because I swear as what what I I in my observation slowly over time, it really seems like what is operating first does have um, you know, this uh it does have a little more power to it.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Because it's the engine that's the driver exactly of of that
>> business. So if we're looking at that kind of thinking and
>> um understanding then um it would have more of a
>> uh balancing or widening influence a more of a positive influence if the 15 degree aspect was in relationship to the beginning of that stellium.
>> Fascinating. And um what is the orb allowance you would give for this aspect?
>> What did we put here?
>> Oh, did you put it in that list? Sorry.
>> I think so. Did I? It's going to be really close. No, I didn't. I'll make this a little bit more detailed. Uh, one and a half degrees maximum for the baby.
>> Okay. And um uh Ju, this is the final question. I'm sorry but and you probably I don't know if this has been uh thought of but uh let's say you have this aspect in synastry with somebody that has a massive stellium uh and then somebody has this. Do you think that this is going to um create a kind of uh you know maybe just a total acceptance of a person um to the extent that maybe the person that has the stellium can soften up a little bit and um be like, "Oh, yeah, maybe this is what I'm like." Um, but but it's okay because I'm still loved and accepted. So they might I don't know. What do you think?
I don't know either,
>> okay?
>> Because I've never noticed. I've never looked for that. Um,
>> so I don't know through actual proof, but I give you my opinion, which may or may not be right.
>> Yeah.
>> So, keep that in mind.
>> Okay. Um, what I think uh just based on the formula is that it would be a very very subtle awareness in the person with the planet that was in the 15 degree aspect to someone else's stallium.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh gosh
>> Yeah. A a very subtle awareness and understanding of what the behaviors and motivations and the how and who the person is in the stallium. But but there's nothing to do. There's nothing to fix, nothing to act on,
>> right?
>> So, it's Yeah. It's almost like this awareness. Yeah. That you're a mess, but um there wouldn't be the impulse to fix
>> or to get involved or to even probably have much of an opinion about it. So, it's more of an awareness and acceptance.
>> Oh, okay. So, Right. So, cuz I I was thinking of it as something that's just like um you just are accepting the person for who they are. You can see what's going on, but it's just I I kind of envision something being like, "Yeah, you know, bless her. That person is a nightmare, but that's my baby."
>> Yeah. I don't even know if we would go as far as judging it
>> as good or bad
>> because that it is that lack of of of divisional judgment that is a hallmark of this.
>> So, um yeah, I think that's as far as I can get with that actual proof.
>> Yeah. No, no, that's great. Thank you, Joel. Okay. So, let's look at the vigile, the 18 degree aspect. These are interesting because we do have a little bit of something uh going on here in terms of building motion. Um, vision tiles are considered to be easy aspects because we don't have the hard problem that comes in with the division of a circle by a by a sign. We're still within a 30° orb in the sign of Aries. And vigent tiles continue the process of separation that began at the 15° aspect. That's where we first got the first inclination of who we are. So at 18° that awareness begins to take form and awareness is no longer without structure at the 18 degree aspect is beginning to organize itself. So where the Dao introduced awareness without any action, the vigilantile introduces the first shaping of awareness through language and thought. So we do not have structured opinion or thinking or one way or the other with the 15 degree. There's just the baby baby beginnings here. The core mechanics are the vigile represents the first movement toward higher awareness, the first movement toward the opposition through the development of language. This is where we begin to form concepts. These are not problem concepts. This is the earliest stage of thought where awareness is no longer completely free form. It is beginning to take shape. Your words, images, associations. The first structuring of the mind, the first habits of the mind begin here. So separation deepens through exclusion. In order to form something, we must begin to choose. And to choose is to exclude. This is the beginning of specialization. We have a type of um inherent specialization in any planets that are in 18° aspect. There's a certain type of like burgeoning ability. Awareness is being shaped into thought. The mind is beginning to form through language. We actually can't have thought thoughts unless we have actual words to put those thoughts in. The functional expression, the vigile introduces the first tendencies of the mind. We begin to develop habits of attention, habits of perception, habits of engagement. And these are not yet strong or fixed. They're forming. They're malleable. This is why these aren't hard aspects. We're simply compelled to focus. This aspect does not create strong division or conflict. It's subtle in its expression. It begins to direct awareness towards certain experiences while excluding others. But we don't have the strong preference, the love and hate yet. Potential is still wide open, but it's no longer without direction. We begin to focus. And to focus is to exclude, but we don't again have strong opinions. Language begins to shape the way we understand ourselves and the world. The concepts we're able to think with are determined by the language we have to describe them. We cannot think in ways that are not supported by language. This is where the mind begins to take form. At the vigile, we're still close to source, but we're now using language as a vehicle to express and understand ourselves. Thought is no longer free. It is being guided. The vigentile carries pure potential, but that potential is now being shaped into meaning. We're beginning to organize experience, but we're not yet dealing with conflict or contradiction. This is the first stage of mental development. We are being subtly prompted when we have planets
that are in a vigile aspect. It's a very, very subtle urge to go towards something, to open something, to be near something. Vision tiles are like a quiet, still, small voice within, between two or more vectors. So, the still, small voice archetypally is something that is urging us or guiding us towards something that's of our benefit, that is safe. Because think about it, we don't ever hear the idea of the still, small voice or the comforter as something that is actively guiding us toward, um, self-destruction. It is, uh, prompting or a small idea of awareness or something that's guiding us toward something that's self, something that's healthy. Yeah. Something that's that is in our best interest. That's what it is. So, these are the little inclinations or the voice even of reason that is very much towards the middle, back of the mind in terms of our awareness of it.
Have you ever noticed that we think in bands? The first band is very conscious. The middle of the brain, that second band, h, these are things that we kind of know, but we're not completely aware of. And these are where we kind of bargain with ourselves. You know, I know that, but I, I don't really want to deal with that. Um, I'll deal with that in five years. And then we have the back of the mind. This is the last band of thinking or consciousness where we, we're very much in the dark about what we're being driven by or, uh, these are things that can often only be known in dreams or visions. It's very much unconscious. And the vigile is an interesting one because we're coming up from the back to the front when we're looking at how aspects work. The conjunction is way back here, but we're starting to get up to where we get these little intuitions or inclinations when we're talking about planets that are in visionile aspect to each other.
Yen, >> Hi. I also have a combination question. Let's say two planets are square to each other, and then a third planet is at the middle quintile to one, but then vigentile to another. Would you consider that an escape bow? >> Yeah. >> To the square. >> Okay. Mhm. >> And so what does that middle planet doing with that vision to one planet? What is it fixing or alleviating the the the pressure? >> It's bringing in a small intuition, uh, knowing something we didn't have to learn, and we've, it's always been with us. It's, uh, like a whispering of the soul that is giving us the correct kind of information that can help us to solve the square. >> But the actual solving, would that be the quintile part? >> So it's like the idea forms in the vision tile, but then the actual creation become, uh, happening in the quintile part. >> That would be a part of how we develop something that could be an answer to the problems that we encounter at the square. So you're saying that the pressure forms with a square, but if there's actually a third planet, uh, there as, as the, the quintile pigtail, then we then have this response, this, this, uh, reaction or this, uh, awareness that comes to mind. >> And that's a unique ability. Yes. That we possess that could be, and often is, uh, put into practice as a response to the conflict at the square. So the conflict at the square is, I come from here, but I want to be there. And >> This is what I was born as, but that's what I want to be. And if we have a quintile that's linked to that, then we have this innate talent that we could absolutely put a lot of that conflicting energy and that anger and that grouchiness that comes with a square into that. Um, and, uh, yeah, have that be, uh, something that helps get us to the opposition point, that point of who I really want to become. And does the person having this configuration eventually feel satisfied between the vision tile because quintile, yes, we do things, we create things, we act on it. Uh, so I'm just wondering in the end, would the vision tile come out as something, uh, satisfactory or something consequential, or it is always going to remain in this state of just enough awareness? >> Yeah, the vigentile doesn't really have a functional operation. It's more just this basis of, I already know what, what is right, or I am receiving internal or intuitive promp, prompings that, uh, help guide me in the right direction. So, it, it, it doesn't, like, yeah. It's, it's not action. It's just linking to factors. I don't know if I can go beyond that. >> Okay. All right. Cool. Yes, I'm happy with what it is. Thank you. >> Tasco. Is that a new hand? >> Yes, it is. Sorry. I was just, uh, I was wondering what the difference is between the vigile and the towel, towel, as, sorry, I can't even pronounce these words. But if, if we are talking about in relation to, um, stelliums and possibly, possibly increasing the awareness, because obviously the vigile is going to increase that, right? >> It, >> They, they are both subtle knowings and observation, but the vigile does urge us. It is a subtle prompting. >> Yeah. It's, um, like it's, it's going to put it. Let me put my thing back up here. Maybe I can get better words. >> Well, what you said, uh, just now to Yen about this kind of intuitive guidance that you feel like it brings, that's really interesting. So, in that case, >> Because it, it is something that we know. See, it's language that is the, the interesting thing with the visionile when we, it's something that can branch out because it's about how we understand the world through our particular, um, exposure to language concepts. So, if we learn another language, often times we will learn a new concept because there are certain concepts that aren't available in every language. M >> So >> Well, so in that case, do you think it actually, if, if we are talking about stelliums specifically, conjunctions or stelliums in relation to the vigile, do you think it actually reaffirms what is going on at the stellium rather than, um, you know, because it kind of creates this thing that, uh, this kind of inner knowing where you're like, No. Um, I feel like I'm pushing in the right direction. I feel like I know what I'm doing. >> No, not No, not necessarily. Because this the vigentile is the still, small voice. If we have things going on in the stellium that are stupid, >> That are not in our best interest. >> Yeah. >> That, because we're just riding on impulse there. It's, it's connected to this other part of us that does have a more self, uh, what I want to say, um, the function of self-preservation is there because we are being guided or prompted by some kind of knowing that again, is in our best interest. >> Okay. Okay. So, it's almost like you could say a little connection, maybe to our higher selves. >> Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So, say we have like a bunch of fire planets that are conjunct to each other in a big train. >> And then maybe we have Jupiter that is in the 18 degree aspect >> To all those planets that just, >> You know, want to jump off a cliff, right, with with no parachute. This could be the part of us that is, um, reminding us that, uh, that tomorrow is another day, and that we are being urged to, by something within us that we don't really understand or can't even name. We're being urged to put on a seat belt. >> Why? >> Or to check the parachute real quick to see if there's holes in it. >> Oh my god. So, yes. So, it really is a connection to your intuition. >> It is. It is the, the still, small voice, the prompings. >> Yeah. That are urging us toward success, I guess, or successful outcomes. >> Oh my god, that is so fascinating. So, cuz of course, if you have, sorry to harp on the stellium thing, but it's just, well, it's only because I'm trying to figure out how, you know, when, when you do have a stellium, of course, with the towel aspect and the vigile aspect, it's very likely that if you have one of those, you will have another, you know, if, if you are talking about stelliums. So, for example, with, um, my, you know, my Sagittarius stellium on the midheaven, um, you know, my Saturn, my Saturn in Sagittarius, but it's, uh, way, it's again, it's away from that, um, stellium, but it has a tower aspect, that Saturn, um, to my chart ruler Uranus, and then Saturn is also vigilantile my Mercury as well. So, both those, um, Saturn in two different aspects in those, uh, aspects is hitting the Sagittarius stellium, you know. >> Mhm. >> So, I have a little bit of functional awareness >> That is, um, helping to >> Uh, guide or inform the, all of those trains, those train cars that are stuck together. >> Right. Right. And because it was just what you were saying was just making me think of the fact that Saturn is the 12th house ruler. So, um, in some way, it is a, uh, you know, connection to what you were saying, the unknown, or something that can't really be, uh, you know, uh, it's, it's not logical. It is part of the intuition, you know. >> So, yeah, that is just, it's fascinating to hear it described like that. Really interesting. Thank you, Juel. >> Yeah, you're welcome. Um, all right. So, I'm going to jump up and go pee. We'll just take like a two-minute break, and then we'll come back and finish up the last two. There. All righty. So, let us look at the 24 degree aspect for which there is no consensus about the name. Um, some people will call it a Quindy style, some people will not. We're just going to call it a Quindy style for this particular unit here. So, this is the 24 degree aspect, which is a surge of activity within the psyche, but it does not imply problem because we are still within that 30-degree range there of one sign, if we're looking at 0 degrees Aries to 30 degrees Aries. So, this is a movement towards action, but not yet action itself. It's, it's, um, I don't know if that's really the way to put it. So, we have the baby beginnings of using what it is that is around us, that we are exposed to, that we are learning. So, the 24 degree aspect is really that very early stage of life where we have so much coming in, and we're starting to understand it. We're starting to recognize it. We're starting to figure out how things work. And in that stage of human development, there is so much, uh, coming in all at once that we are just like this sponge that is, uh, uh, just learning at a rapid, rapid rate. So, at the vigile, awareness took form through thought and language, and at the quinticile, that awareness begins to gather momentum. We are approaching decision, or the, uh, idea of decision, of dissection, and this is the final stage before the emergence of problem at the semisexile. So, the core mechanics of the quindee sile, it means it's a preparatory aspect. So, there's this upward movement between the planets, a sense of energy that's building, but it's not yet divided into opposing needs. We, we don't have conflict within ourselves to solve. So, the archetypes are not in conflict. They're still in agreement. There's this motion without tension. So, planets of quendile are working together effortlessly, and they probably do show up in the charts of people that have some kind of innate talent that is beyond the mastery of a quintile or a byquentile, where we have like a Mozart, a child prodigy, natural cooperation, shared rhythm, sense of ease between them. This is like being born with something that we didn't have to learn. Uh, not an aspect that produces a lot of actions, preparation for action. Not sure if I'm going to keep that language in the, in, in this particular paragraph. Um, I, I would say that it prepares us for more mastery, more action that we will take because we have this specialty, this natural ability, this thing that we do. So, it does prepare us for further specialization because we've seen that, uh, we, or, or have an inclination that there's something, some kind of mojo that we've got here. So, the conversation between planets in quinticile is one of levity. There's ease, enjoyment, a sense of that things already work. The solutions are already present. There's nothing that needs to be forced or figured out, which is different than the quintile, which is in the series, the quinticile series, where we are really, really focused on developing something and becoming the best of something. That focus, that egoic need is not present in the quend style. That's where we have the lack, lack of compulsion here. We don't have the tension. We experience moments of recognition. Moments where something becomes clear without effort. It's not knowledge gained through experience. It's just recognition of something that's always been there. Something that's available to us. With the conscious development, the Quinn Dile prepares us for the emergence of the problem at the semisex tile. It, it's conditioning us for conditioning. So, at this stage, we begin to sense that something's forming. Direction is emerging, but we're not aware of conflict yet. So, we're still in agreement with ourselves. There's an e, easy orchestration between the planets that are quesile and a specialization. But there's not drive. Drive comes from egoic division. It's not an effort to become something. It's just the simple recognition of what's already present. The surge of activity in the Quinn Dile is internal. It's not expressed through action, but through recognition. We understand something without learning it. We see the solution without searching for it. It's the final moment of ease before the emergence of problem. So, it's like a, yeah, a, a natural movement that, uh, we enjoy, we benefit from. And often because there's no problem that's indicated there, our awareness is not going to be brought to this aspect or other aspects that don't imply problem. Um, we see that with sexiles, we see that with trines. We see that with the aspects that, that just come easy. They, we, we rarely, rarely will focus or bring attention or energy to things that are working. Um, this is something that I find a lot with, you know, counseling couples or you just doing regular therapy is that in relationships, rarely does focus or recognition or appreciation, um, go towards the stuff that is working. If we have a relationship that has conflict or difficulty, our attention and our awareness always goes to what isn't working or what is a problem, and that becomes the bulk of the goings on in a relationship. Uh, the psyche is no different. We tend to find a bunching up or an emphasis on what is not working.
Tusca. >> Hey Jules. So, it's so funny because before you compared it to the TRR and the sexile, I was thinking to myself, okay, is it like one of those things where a, like with a TR or a sexile, just because it's easy, it doesn't necessarily mean it's good or it's good for you. Because, um, uh, for example, um, I do have this aspect between Mars and Saturn. It's exact. Okay. And given the way that my Mars is aspected at the base of that kite, don't you think that this quin diesel or whatever you want to call it is just going to, um, add more weight into that ease of you know, existing in toxicity? >> That is interesting. It's going to show that the, the way that you use your energy, the limitation that Saturn always brings or the assumption of, um, of achievement. That there is a, a successful innate combining of factors. Uh, your passion and the rules or confines of that passion. That there is a, an ease actually that is happening there of containing, modifying, actually bringing some amount of ability to control yourself. >> An innate ability to combine Mars and Saturn in this way that they are both motivated, uh, to work together. I see it as somewhat helpful, >> Okay. >> To bringing some kind of restraint to that really animalistic Mars Pluto conjunction. >> Okay. So, Okay. So, you actually find it to be helpful rather than adding to the weight of the Mars Pluto? >> Yeah. Because we don't have problem between Mars and Saturn in a Quindy style. >> Yeah. Okay. So >> I think it's a helpful restraining factor. >> Okay. Okay. So then in your opinion, the Quinn Dile is always going to be helpful, even if it is connected to something that is unhealthy? >> I can't say yes all the time. H Okay. >> How do I answer that? What I can say is that planets that are in >> Quintile to each other >> Are by default working from the same motivation that, that they are good actors together, or they're, they're good players in a symphony. >> Yes. >> They're resonating. So, in some cases, that resonance is going to be helpful when it is in relationship to other things that perhaps are not. So, I can't say yes, it's a good thing for the planet that's connected for the difficult things all the time. >> Okay. But in this case, I do see it as, uh, a helpful resonance because it's related to something that can be by nature very, um, very greedy. >> Yes. Yes. Okay. Mars's appetite is >> Um, being successfully controlled or modified or restrained in this case. So, no, I don't, I don't see it as a automatically good all the time. It's going to depend. >> Right. Okay, that makes sense. So, because it is Saturn and we're talking about restraint and we're talking about Mars, >> The nature of the conjunction of Mars and Pluto. >> Yes. Okay. So, then what if the quin dile was between Jupiter to the Mars? >> I wouldn't see that as as much of a functional, um, positive modifier, >> Right? >> Would >> Right. >> Because Mars and Jupiter in a quinticile play well together, that's going to increase the appetites of Mars for what it's already doing. >> Okay. >> That it's in with Pluto. >> Right. Right. Right. So, um, uh, in that case, if, right, so we have, we do have to consider what it's connected to. If it is connected to like, like you said, something related to appetite, then if the quin diesel aspect is mitigating that or it's adding to that, then that's obviously going to determine >> Bring some consciousness or some restraint. Yes. And, and, and some awareness of >> Consequences. >> Right. Okay. Which it would not be present with with Jupiter. >> Yeah, exactly. Okay. Thank you, Joel. That makes perfect sense. >> Yeah. >> Hi. Um, I'm just wondering, uh, if we call this aspect quisowl, do we ever look at by quundisile, triisile, and, you know, so on and so forth? So, for, for instance, do we look at 48 degrees? Do we look at 96 degrees as the extension to >> We could, but we're not going to in this particular, because I don't, I'm already 51, and we, I would be 91 >> If, if I looked at absolutely everything all the time. Um, we could do a different, uh, every degree means something. All right, you're going to find a link between a minor aspect between all planets, like all the time. We don't know what they all mean. And, um, because there are so many details in astrology, uh, there are so many tools, and there's only so much life. I don't think that we can learn it all. We can learn a lot of it. But if we, what you're talking about is like a heart surgeon becoming a brain surgeon, becoming an internist, becoming a gynecologist. That is an enormous amount of specialization to undertake in one lifetime. So, we could learn all of those things, but you don't need to in order to be able to interpret a chart well or correctly. So, we, um, I, I guess I only have so much life is my answer. >> I mean, of course. Um, me too. I'm, I'm just hypothetically asking if that is a thing to take notice of, because >> It probably is, but we don't have any actual, um, accumulated evidence yet. >> Well, I mean, we can always start somewhere, sometime. We've, we've done some good stuff in, in our own apprentice classes in relationship to accumulating more evidence, but maybe you should be the one, Yen, that starts to actually write it down and collect it. You, you know, I was just about to tell you this, that I have, uh, created an app by AI, and then it is actually calculating all of the zodiac degree at which degree that can trigger any aspect to our natal chart. >> Oh, that's fabulous. >> Yeah. And so I entered everything, and so you will get, for example, in Aries, you will get 60 to 70 different kinds of combinations. So, maybe the one degree Aries would trigger the inconjunction, and then the 3D cell, then the bicep, and then, etcetera, etcetera. And so you would have like a calendar that, because we all know as astrologers, we all know what planet are, are going through what sign at what degree roughly. But then with this map, this tool, you can actually observe in real time what is happening at this minor aspect. And the, the, the more quieter, but still, it, it adds color, it adds the different flavor to the otherwise bigger, uh, the checkpoint of the specs. So, >> So, it's like when a note is struck, are, is it like showing all the chords on that note? Is that what you're describing? >> Yeah, it's, it's, it's just like, I, I, I'm calling it this, the, the symphony of samsala. That, that's just my, my, uh, this is me. >> So, whatever is being transited, you're showing whatever any of the myriad combinations of, um, uh, of complexes. >> Yeah. For example, you putting, Yeah. So, for example, you put in that your ascendant is at Virgo 2 degrees, and then it will tell you the first harmonic, the trigger point, obviously, that's Virgo 2 degrees, and then the second harmonic, and the third harmonic, and fourth harmonic, and then fifth harmonic, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, everything spreading out to the zodiac, because that's the fixed degree, that's the fixed position, you always going to have, uh, the opposition when planets transiting to, to Pisces, uh, two degrees to your ascendant, etcetera. And so, it's fixed. And so, what I just did, uh, is this app that can create the list for you to observe whatever minor aspect, because sometimes even when there's a major, uh, aspect, say Venus is forming, let's just make a rough, a quick example. Venus transitive Venus is making a TR to your Venus, but it actually maybe had in the same time is in a 3D style to your Mars, or maybe it is actually in a, you know, something like that, but then you don't know. I mean, most of us wouldn't calculate something like that. >> Yeah. You have to actually use your eyeball to do that. Yeah. >> Uh-huh. But then this app tells you exactly to the minute, at what degree that aspect, that minor aspect is going to trigger. >> Yeah. Yeah. Fabulous. Yeah. >> Yeah. So, yeah, I mean, that, that's why I'm, I'm just thinking whether should I add this to the observation list, because I mean, it might be something, it might not, but if we know it, that it can be something that maybe, uh, one day, you know, years from now, we can >> Yeah, you're going to feel like the urge to >> Yeah, do something that you've always known how to do, or, yeah, to use that innate, um, ability. So, yeah, I put that in. >> Okay. Cool. >> Yeah, because, because it be, uh, you know, the 24 degree adding up to all those degrees, for example, this, uh, uh, 168 degree, for example, that is actually filling the gap between opposition and the quintisile, the, the 165 degrees. So, I feel like, yeah, there, I always felt there should be something there, and then now looking at this, I feel like maybe, hm, that can feel, >> Put it in. >> All right. >> Um, okay. Let's go with our last picture here for today. Um, all right. This is Violet right here, Sunrise's mother. So, we're going to look at the semisexile. So, this is where we are at that first point of division because we're coming into the next sign. So, the semisexile at 30 degrees marks that first true division within the psyche. At the conjunction, there was only unity. There was just the monad. There was just the one. Now we're coming into two. At the, at the towel, awareness of separation began. At the visionile, awareness took form through thought. At the quendile, momentum gathered. At the semisexile, we encountered difference. This is that first awareness of problem, or of me being different from mom, me being different from the source. The core mechanics of the semisexile occur between adjacent signs. They're right next to each other. So, it's a minor in conjunction that we're looking at. This introduces difference in motivation and expression between the planets. For the first time, the archetypes are no longer in agreement. They're not in open conflict yet either, but they are different. And difference creates effort. At this stage, we become aware that we are not the same throughout ourselves. We're not the same as mom. We're not the same as the source. And we begin to recognize that different parts of us want different things, and this is the birth of the self as something defined. So, at the semisex tile, the core belief, the core thinking is, I am not you, I am me. So, functional expression, the semisexile introduces effort. We have to do something. It does require something of us. For the first time, we try. We attempt to bring two different needs together into one experience. We attempt to reconcile two parts of ourselves that do not naturally align. The effort is subtle but persistent. And it may take years. It may take a lifetime to fix a semisexile because the difference is so minor. It may often be that closing semisex style, particularly that we struggle with and finally solve in our 80s, certainly after the Chiron return. So, the effort is subtle but persistent. It can feel like mild frustration, like something is slightly off, but not fitting together properly. That's why we can keep these going forever because they can be chronic, not terminal, like hard aspects. The instinct is to solve the problem by forcing the parts together if we finally see it. But, uh, to solve the problem, but trying to make them match. I think I have a typo there. We are trying to make two different things work together, and it is through a subtle adjustment. We may approach it with force, but that is not what works. It's a subtle adjustment, not a repudiation of something like with an opposition or sustained hard effort with a square that eventually becomes a habit because we sustain that hard effort for so long. It's more of an acknowledgment and then a remembering that we have to make a slight adjustment with the semisex tile. I think that's why they're hard. They're insidious. These are insidious divisions of the self. Conscious development. The semisexile marks the beginning of practical reality where we have to reconcile ourselves to reality. We are no longer in pure awareness or just internal development. We're getting into toddlerhood here, coming out of our baby beginnings. This is where conditioning begins to take hold. We try to solve the problem of being divided. The semisexile teaches us that difference isn't a problem to be solved so much as an adjustment that needs to be made. So, two things can exist at the same time. The discomfort we feel comes from trying to force unity where there isn't any. Over time, a new awareness emerges. We do not need to eliminate the differences. We do not need to perfectly blend the parts. We only need to allow them to coexist. So, this is where we have subtle paradox that comes in that we may not know or have a, an awareness of when we're younger, that we do have this paradoxical way of thinking or being or, uh, of, of, of deciding. And it can show a very mild chronic failure to, uh, sorry, that's my daughter. Uh, we're just going to have to decline that there. This, um, yeah, subtle weirdness within us that once we see it and we allow for it, or we figure it in, it doesn't have a, an effect of getting in the way of us having the success that we're looking for. It's like a cork that we work into things. So, a, an example, the tarot card that I put out for the semisex tile, it, I animated it. It was a man walking along, and there was a little pothole in front of him, and he stepped into the pothole, and it tripped him up. He kind of, you know, teetered a little bit, but he, he got back on track. That's what semisex tiles are. They're like these little divots or potholes in our lives. And once we remember that that pothole is there, this certain weakness in ourselves or this blind spot, it's a very small blind spot. Then we finally stop tripping over it because it requires some type of energy from us that's so minor that we don't realize we're wasting it. So, it's very much like we walk out of our house every morning to get the newspaper, and every morning we forget that there is a crack in the cement, and we do a little trip or stub our toe a little bit every goddamn morning. And every single morning, we say the same thing, "Oh, I've got to remember that that that crack in the cement is there. I did it again." But see, we didn't fall. We didn't scrape ourselves. We didn't actually do any real permanent damage to our toe. See, if we would have actually cut it or broken the nail in some way, it would have had a consequence that we would have remembered. But because it was below the threshold of actually having a lasting consequence, it is allowed to persist. And so, because we never fell down, we never actually cut the skin, we were able to stabilize ourselves, this was allowed to persist for 30 years. We never fix that crack. 30 years. And then when you look back, when you finally notice it and you look back, you're like, if I would have addressed this 30 years ago, I wouldn't have put that little half pence. It's a half pence. That's what it is. It doesn't exist anymore. But the half pence was like the tiniest little coin ever. When I lived in England, it was so tiny. It was so cute. It was light. When you held it in your hand, it didn't feel like you were holding anything. It had no weight. And it was even like so thin you could actually like bend it. Lolly might be old enough to remember the half pence. Not probably not a lot of people are, but it's like that half pence in the bucket of our life force energy. It takes a long time to accumulate any amount of weight. But when you look at it over the course of 30 years, those repetitive mistakes that we made that we just didn't fix, we look at, oh my god, what did it really cost me? It is the chronicness of us having a flaw, having a problem, and it being allowed to exist below the threshold of us identifying it as an issue, that is the issue. This also reminds me of a different type of example. I had a, a woman, um, I went to a talk years ago when I was a teenager. My mom said, "There's this woman in town, and she, um, had this incredible life experience. I think it'd be very valuable for you to go and listen to this talk." And she was a woman that went through World War II, and she was telling her experience from the Japanese side of the equation, and she grew up with a lot of money and was very privileged. And, um, uh, during the war, her family, her whole family, uh, was sent to a concentration camp. And they were there for a number of years. And one day, the nanny, who was the nanny to that family, um, she came to the edge of the concentration camp, and she had the, the woman was a child at the time. Um, she was a child that grew up in a pretty prominent family, and the whole family was sent to the concentration camp. The nanny, her nanny, showed up one day, and she got her attention. She was at the edge of the fence, on the other side of the fence, and she got her attention, and she was able to give her a hug or some contact, and then she threw the little girl's stuffed bear or stuffed animal over the fence so she could have it. And the nanny said to her, "Hang on to this. This I know was your great love, and it will be valuable to you and your family someday. Hang on to this bear." And the little girl did. Somehow she was able to keep it in the concentration camp. And then a few years went by, and she made it out of the camp, and she was sitting there with her bear, and she noticed one day, this is the semisexile moment. She had always had this bear, but she noticed one day how dirty it was, that it had been through all of this with her, and it was just, it was just filthy. And she's like, "I just noticed how badly this bear needed to be cleaned." She just hadn't noticed before because she had other things to respond to. She'd been in a period of stress. We don't notice things that need to be cleaned up when we're in stress. We're in survival mode. But when she did notice how dirty her bear was, she got a cloth and she wet the cloth and she started to clean her bear. And the bear had been through so much that it just kind of disintegrated in her hands as she was cleaning it. And it revealed that the nanny had hidden the family jewels inside the bear. She saved them. There was so much money that had always been in that bear. But until she noticed, she really noticed what it looked like and what she had, it wasn't revealed to her. This is our semisexile moment. Particularly if it's a closing semisexile, when we notice what we've always been doing, or what we've always had, or the mistake we've repeatedly, repeatedly, and repetitively made, and we bring our attention to fixing it, cleaning it up, it leads to this crazy amount of wholeness that you never would have seen or predicted or thought could be there. When you finally fix that crack in the sidewalk, you realize how much you were used to tripping over it, even though you never saw it, and how much easier it is to get out to the mailbox and back. You finally see the difference. Once we bring our conscious awareness, our intention, and the energy to fixing that small gap, that small blind spot, we are forever enriched. Okay. So, any questions about the semisexile? Um, J, so, you know, there's a generation of people who are born with all the outer planets in a semisexile to each other. I think it was, it would be in the late 70s. So, the sex tile between the Neptune and Pluto, and then Uranus sitting at the middle semisexile to each other. So, I've been, I always been pondering about what, like, like the language to describe this. So, I got a, maybe you have a, you have a story or, or a description for this. >> Neptune and, Oh, Lauren, you could help us if you could let us see your chart. So, you're saying that Neptune and Pluto are semisex, are sexile >> Sexile, but then Uranus is in the middle >> Semisexile to both >> Yeah, and a lot of people are having this >> Let me give an example. Let me see. So, my Pluto is Libra 18 degrees. I don't share the visual in my chart. So, Pluto and Libra 18, Uranus and Scorpio 17, Neptune exact conjunct Mercury 17 Sagge >> And Sagitt Arius. Okay. >> But like, wait, Juel, I actually have >> So, you're in your 40s. >> Yeah, I'm old. Very old. Um, older than people think. But, um, yeah. No, I, I always see it as, well, there's just a lot. See, you guys, it gets really complicated because my chart ruler is exact. Well, not exact, but part of a conjunction stellium of, um, Mercury and Neptune. So, Mars is there. So, like, again, when Juel was talking about like things just like being unconscious, like the way even me channeling, like I had to realize, I looked at a chart one day, and I could just read it, right? So, that's Neptune, me channeling the divine, or my soul remembrance through my mind, Mercury, and then the activation of that is Mars. Like, I speak really fast, I talk fast, and things just fly out of my mouth when I'm reading a chart. Like, for example, I was reading a chart one day and I was like, "Someone's going to wear something like crazy to your wedding." Like, where the hell did that come from? How would I know that? And then they started laughing. They're like, "We're worried about that." Um, so Pluto and Mars, right, are my chart rulers. Um, Mars is not exact conjunct, right, but it's six degrees away at 11. >> What? So, in Sagge, my stellium is Mars at 11. Um, Pluto, I'm sorry, Mercury and Neptune at 17. Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, that, like, it's a, it's a combined, I'm going to come on camera. I'm wrapped in a blanket. But it's a combined, like, I take all three of those planets, and it's just like my action, my drive, my mind, my channeling, it's all right there in the second house. >> And I actually said this on one of my lives the other day. I was like, you know, I knew I was psychic, and in my corporate career, I'm like, did I use my psychic ability? And I'm like, of course I did. Like, I would be like, I knew that sale was going to come in, right? So, it was like, >> Yeah, it's always operational. Yeah. Whether or not we name it. >> I had to, like, a sexile requires effort, right? It's not easy. I had to actually be like, okay, I'm using my gut ability to be like, yeah, that big corporation GE is going to sign, right? Um, yeah. I don't know, Joel. I'll let you kind of take it from there. >> Well, that's a lot. You're, you're describing the functional awareness and the, the ability and the abil, the ability to work with others and to have interfunctional cooperation between the planets in Sagittarius and Pluto in Libra. So, really good stuff there. But the semisexile, that's the impulse. That is the part of you that, um, >> It's unconscious. >> It, it's, it's not about the agenda of the ego. It's what happens in the moment. That's what has, that's where the adjustment was. That was where Pluto, which is power, how you use your power, and a lot of the under, uh, the underpinning of everything. Yes. >> Um, and has a lot to do with our spidey sense, that connecting with Uranus in a way where you can understand the timing and use the impulse that allows you to share that correctly because you tend to be out of time or out of alignment. It's either too much or too little. And then Uranus to the stellium in Sagittarius, there is that slight adjustment with the, the speed and the timing and the, the reasons, and then the pure being in the momentness with Uranus. So, the questioning, it to me, it's looking like there's this functional ability that's always there. Um, this cooperation that's going on within the self, but until that effort is made to connect that to the, the part of you that needs to speak up in the moment, that's when it is solved or successfully solved. I never really thought about the semisexile with Uranus, right? Like, this is why I'm taking this course. Um, the sexile I get, but like Uranus kind of fires like, and it's on my ascendant too. It like fires the whole chart. It's, it's, um, the bolt from the blue. And until we are able to, uh, have enough confidence to allow those bolts to, uh, really to inform, uh, both Pluto and more so the planets in Sagittarius to have that, those bolts from the blue, the impulse, the, um, the confidence to, um, to speak, to express. I, I see it as a timing issue here, that everything wants to happen quickly, and in Sagittarius, it does have something to do with the super ego. Uranus has no agenda. And so, it's, it's developing the capacity to allow that total freedom of the higher self, or the, the, the higher information to work with the part of the personality that is about delivery. Um, yeah, an adjustment. It's just an adjustment. Everything in Sagittarius can exist. The speed of the thought, the, we do tend to be kind of opinionated in Sagittarius. All that gets to exist alongside this ability to recognize impulse and to allow information to come through with no warning. And often we don't, with Uranus, even know from where it's coming. It's just coming from source. I guess I think that's as close as I can get. There's, there's an unconscious speed at which it comes, and I have to consciously work to pull it back sometimes, right? >> To be able to interpret it through that, or to work with it, to interpret it, to speak it, to make it known. Um, yeah, there's an adjustment with the, uh, >> Aggressiveness. >> That's what it is. The aggressiveness. >> Yeah. With the characteristics in Sagittarius that has to adjust and make room for >> The, um, yeah, the built, the sudden insights that come from Uranus. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. That was good. But in a normal circumstance, the Uranus will be leaving, separating from Pluto, and then applying or closing to, uh, Neptune. So, even in this instance, we are saying that that part, the closing Uranus to Neptune, is going to be a harder part to integrate. >> No. >> No. Because it, if it's closing, we have some amount of reflection, wisdom. So, no, I don't see it as necessarily lending difficulty in this case. >> So, which one would be harder to, to solve? The Uranus to, uh, Pluto, or Uranus to Neptune? >> I think it's the Uranus to Pluto because we are on that. It's like a roller coaster that's going up steadily, steadily, steadily, steadily, steadily to the top. And once it gets up there, that's the exactitude. That's where we have the moment before >> We use, enjoy, integrate, act on what has come to that point of climax. So, Uranus Pluto stuff, uh, that's where we're learning to, learning to roll with the punches, learning to accept hard changes, work with hard changes. Um, I'm trying to assign a value to it. I don't know if I actually have an opinion that, okay, >> It's better or worse. Mhm. And, um, as, uh, as I have seen, and as we just have discussion here, um, people with this configuration, especially if personal planets are applied to this configuration, usually they have some sort of psychic ability or this very unexplainable, um, information >> To Uranus and Pluto. Well, Pluto, well, Uranus sitting at the midpoint between the sexile and >> Yeah, that, that generation, um, many of them, especially with personal planets apply to, you know, that three planets either way can can create this, this like, it just like they, they have this access to information that otherwise nobody can. Um, and do you think this semisexile, once fixed, do you think it's going to enhance this ability, or it's actually going to curve this, or, or quiet down this ability? >> Well, once it's solved, there's a, a successful relationship. So, I don't know if it, if it's quiet down. I think it's being able to find outlet or purpose or reason for it. So, I think once we solve the semisexile, that's where we stop wondering if we might be crazy. >> Oh, okay. Yeah, that makes sense. Okay, got it. Thank you. >> Okay, Tasco's out a new hand. >> Um, sure. Well, uh, only if you, um, have the time, but I was >> We got a few minutes. The girls are starting to get antsy. >> Oh, okay. Awesome. Um, I was just wondering how you would see the semisexile between, uh, Venus and Saturn. So, we're making subtle decisions that are not allowing us to have all that we feel that we want or deserve. There's a very small blind spot regarding what we want and then what we're choosing. So, we are more than likely undervaluing ourselves and overvaluing others who seem to have the type of status, stability, sometimes age, or experience that we ourselves would like to attach to in order to feel that by by default, or being chosen, or being committed to, or favored by somebody else. Um, we're trying to achieve that kind of, um, status or, um, security. So, we do have to recognize that we're making mistakes in valuation, in choices, in investments, in choosing people that we think are going to bring us the kind of recognition or social success or status that we want, but they're not able to do that. It's, it's, it's a flaw in our thinking or a decision-making process. So, where we may, oh, this is a good one. This is a good example where my daughter, right, she's what, 22 or 23? I can't remember now. I think
She's 22 this year. She goes on these dating apps and she she's she's she's got some Venus Saturn. She's determined to find somebody to take care of her.
She's gonna have to grow out of this. And she chooses guys that do have a lot of resources and money.
But it's always the same kind of guy. He's uh definitely not emotionally or physically available. Um not uh how do I want to put it? It's men who have a lot of what she's looking for in terms of status and resources, but they do not have any real appreciation for her.
And so what she thinks she's going to get out of it, she's not going to get out. is learning this that they have some of what she's looking for, but by attaching to somebody, it will not fulfill that place within her that wants to feel valued, that wants to feel elevated. It actually going out with those types of people make her feel worse. M after she's done with the date. So, it's a recognition that what she wants and then who specifically she's choosing to hook up with.
It's even even though on the surface it has the look of it, it does not actually solve the problem. So we have to just uh recognize yes with any Venus Saturn semisex style that what we value and then the type of commitments that we're making the type of um she has the semi square actually the type of Um yeah, things were tethering us too ends up humiliating us.
Oh my god, that's so interesting. I I have got the semisexile between those two and I can Yeah, I can certainly relate to that. So, so you have to look again at the what do you value to look at because these things can exist together.
What do you want and then what is your idea of status and how can you make an adjustment within your belief system so those two things can coexist.
Okay. Okay. That's really uh yeah that's really interesting and that is something to think about and um Juel I just thought of another part of this. Okay how maybe a difficult aspect that's connected to an easy pattern. So funny I didn't even recognize this but I used this as an example earlier in the beginning of class but like with this semisexile that I have between Venus and Saturn and then of course Venus is part of the kite.
could this manifest as like um because I I never as you know with my Mars Pluto South node stuff I literally never date never date I never like actively search for any relationship whatsoever but I always seem to find myself with men with these types of men I just end up with these types of men or this is whatever I'm putting out there and these are the guys that pursue me okay that I fall into this habit where they do look after me financially but I am deeply deeply unhappy.
And Venus is coming through Capricorn, right?
Yes. Yes.
And Saturn is what? Sagittarius.
Yes. Yes.
Um so uh do you think that this is one of those cases with a difficult aspect that's falling into uh kind of like an effortless pattern that that is what is uh contributing to keeping this semisexile going?
Well, yes. And what's also contributing is that Venus is coming through a sign that it doesn't always do well in in terms of um finding more depth of connection or of happiness or of you know more meaning because it can be a little bit hypergamous with Venus coming.
Yes. And well remember Joel that that Venus is also conjunct Neptune. So that a whole host of other problems.
So that's another complexity when it comes to per proper perception or not letting chemistry be a blinding factor there.
Yes.
So it does sound like a slight adjustment needs to be made here between what you want and then the type of players that we may be attracted to in Sagittarius.
Yes. Um because that is more fiery or we could be we consider more immature expression of Saturn.
Sure. Sure. Of course, Juel because even then it's so layered because the seventh house ruler is Leo as well. The seventh house is a Yeah, there's just there is that thing of more kind of um uh cocky, immature, kind of playery type of partner.
For sure. for sure, you know, but um but I think overall there is this real underlying issue and you just described it so well because there is this thing that is simmering beneath the surface where I really do feel incapable of um uh you know being able to do something for myself in that way, you know, to be able to um uh to be able to like make a success of myself on my own to um be able to just do anything. It is a there is this thing where um where I feel incapable and feel like I need to attach to other people that know better and can kind of hold my hand, you know.
Yes. Also at the mid heaven and the 10th, right?
You you mean Uranus?
Venus is
Oh, yeah. No. Um, uh, Venus is, uh, that stellium with that stellium with Venus is in the 11th house.
okay.
And, um, uh, and Saturn is in the 10th house.
Oh, okay. I'm getting it wrong. I'm getting it backwards. Um, okay. So, yeah.
Yeah, it sounds like you've got to re-evaluate. Shh. Um, yeah, sense of purpose. Venus has a lot in in Capricorn has a lot to do with purpose that um you need to look at what you want in terms of eventualities, commitment structures.
Yeah. and then learn how to take um learn how to work hard in terms of finishing because this is Saturn and Sagittarius. Saturn and Sagittarius is activated by passion, mission, uh what is the word?
Inspiration.
Yes, inspiration for Absolutely. working towards becoming a social success in something that you do find animating, inspiring, enlivening.
Yes. and adjust that with the part of yourself that is valuing things that are about tradition, degrees, um having some kind of institutional backing there. Both of these things you can find a way where they can exist such as becoming an astrologer because you love it so much. It animates you. It's inspirational. But yet you do have some kind of extensive formal training that you can point to and say, "Look, I'm legit."
Yeah. To legitimize. Right. Those two things can they can work together.
Yes. Uh that's so true and such an interesting example, Joel, because remember even before I became your apprentice, I was like getting the degree the um uh biology going into Yes. And because that was mainly I now that you were talking I'm like oh my god that was so driven by that semisex style in a way because I I was the main factor for that is because I wanted to have something that was legitimate.
That was literally the driving factor. But really okay did I actually
But your heart wasn't in it.
Exactly. It wasn't. That's why you couldn't finish.
Anyway, I am a chronic unfinisher. Okay. I think I think I'm only ever finished with you.
Saturn and fire signs is an interesting guy.
As long as you love it, you might you might finish it.
Yeah. But we don't believe with with Venus in Capricorn, we don't often believe that we deserve um to have what we love.
Yes. You have to look at that.
Yes. That's yeah, that's absolutely true. Yes, it's so interesting. Um, thank you, Juel. Those are Thank you.
Okay, guys. Um, let's wrap up for today. We will be back next week and we will work through the next series of four or five.
Thank you, Julie. That was awesome. Thank you.
Thank you. Fabulous. Bye. Bye.
Bye, guys.
