Men whose brush stripes and bright stars through the carous. Oh my god. My last lost. That was Donald Trump, as expected, getting booed mercilessly at game three of the NBA finals between the Knicks and the Spurs.
Now, this was probably owed to any one of quite a few different factors. First, and probably least surprising, New York hates the guy. Less than a third of voters cast ballots for him in the 2024 election, and his approval rating has only plunged since then.
Second, his presence at this game made the experience miserable for everyone. Because of him, unilaterally, not only did attendees have to get to the stadium 2 hours early, but watch parties within the vicinity outside of the Madison Square Garden were also cancelled. All because one man, a guy who doesn't like New York City and who New Yorkers hate, decided that he needed to be there. He needed the attention on him.
In fact, listen to what New Yorkers said uh when his motorcade went by on route to the garden a few blocks out. >> I mean, nothing. What an >> Second call. Second call. Second call. Third call. I don't know. How many >> in case there was uh any doubt about how New Yorkers actually feel about the guy. But still, despite all of the inconvenience it would cause, Trump decided to do it anyway because, god forbid, the attention isn't on him for even one day.

And here's what I think is most pathetic about all of this. It is the dichotomy on display between the Knicks and Spurs and Trump. Two teams that have had to work their asses off to get where they are. No shortcuts, no easy path. And then there's Trump who has lied, cheated, and stolen throughout his entire life up to now. Honestly, if there was one activity you'd think he would find opponent, it's a sport where when the game ends, you don't get to relitigate the score. In basketball, you don't get to complain about mystery points thrown in the dumpster by liberal referees or fraudulent mail-in points secretly added to the scoreboard. There's no highlevel agency that he can task with seizing scorecards to prove to their fans that the outcome the whole world witnessed with their own eyes somehow didn't happen. The only path to victory for these teams is through blood, sweat, and tears. I'm sorry, but just imagine what would happen if the Spurs lose, but spend the next four years claiming they won. Could you imagine how much of a joke they would be? And yet, that's what Trump relies on doing because he can't win fair and square. So, he has to whine and cry and stomp his feet and pretend like he's a victim.
In fact, he is literally lying right now about the California election. And look at how he reacts when asked for proof of his own lies. >> Crooked press, people like stupid Biden, he's not smart enough to know what's going on, but people that surrounded him, surrounded his beautiful, resolute desk in the Oval Office, what they did to the lives of people, they destroyed people. They sent people to jail who did nothing wrong. >> Just just to be very clear, there's no evidence of what you're saying, but about Todd Blanch. May listen to me. Let's talk about >> there's tremendous evidence. There's nothing but evidence. The election was rigged. It was a dirty election and it's happening again right now in California. >> Presented evidence happening right now in California right now. It's Look at Look at what's happening in California. >> It's doing well in California. >> In California, it's No, they're not. They're they're dropping fast because it's a rigged election. Let me tell you, >> it's 4 days and they aren't even close to coming up. That's how they count. >> You know why they're doing that? Because they're cheating on the election. >> There's What? Do you have evidence to support? >> All I have to do is look. All I have to do is look and I listen and I listen to people and let's see what happens. >> But sir, that's not evidence. Do you think it's appropriate? >> That's how they count the votes. Do >> you think it's appropriate that they have an election and 5 days later they're nowhere close to picking up? >> State local officials acknowledge they are slow. They're urging No, they're crooked. They're urging the votes to be counted quickly. That's how they vote. >> They're crooked just like you're crooked. Your press is crooked and beat the press is crooked. >> To be fair, I'm not crooked. But let's >> Well, you play right into their hands. Let's continue. >> You're either crooked or you're stupid. You play right into their hands with this rep. You know that these elections are rigged. Your network knows that they're rigged. You know that I won an election in a landslide and I got 94% bad press. >> But Mr. President, you know, you never presented because you have no credibility. >> But you've never presented evidence that it was rigged. Let's keep talking about I want to talk about Todd. >> You have more evidence. There's more evidence than ever presented. >> Your elections in this country, we're like a third world country. Your elections are crooked and you're crooked and Meet the Press is crooked and so is ABC and CBS and CNN. But Mr. President, your one-sided crooked network. So, let's call it quits because I've had enough. Thank you, darling. Have a good time. >> Mr. President, let's please. I traveled all the way to Wisconsin. >> I've sat in the rain with you all. I know. I've sat in the rain with you for an hour on and off in the rain and I've given you enough time. You ought to straighten out your press because you know what? A country can never be great with a dishonest. We traveled all the way to Wisconsin for this interview.
>> Yeah. So, uh, that right there is what it looks like when someone is too much of a to answer for his own lies. He is the antithesis of what these athletes on that court are doing. They can't lie. They can't cheat. Sometimes they'll flop and it is what it is. But these guys work their asses off to get to the finals. They deserve to be there. Trump is a professional liar, a professional victim, and a professional cheat.
But you know what? I'm glad he was there because he got to experience what Americans think of him outside of his carefully curated rallies and his cabinet meetings where each official jockeyies to lodge themselves deeper up his ass than the next person. I hope he felt those booze at a visceral level. And I hope that he remembers it the next time he decides that he wants to up everybody's day because he can't handle five minutes without all eyes on him. And who knows, maybe he'll watch those guys on the court and realize what it's like to work hard for the things you get instead of just relying on stiffing contractors and weaponizing a bunch of gullible fools to do your bidding once you've convinced them that you won an election that you lost. But then again, it's Trump we're speaking about, so it's more likely that he's just learned absolutely nothing and desperately wants the attention on himself.
