In 2017, a group of archaeologists, led by the Ministry of Antiquities in Egypt, stumbled upon something truly remarkable and breathtaking. Just a few meters below the surface, in a muddy pit in Cairo's Mataria District, was something truly extraordinary.
The team was anticipating the usual stuff, maybe some everyday artifacts like pottery or small sculptures. Little did they expect that they were about to uncover something this mind-blowing.
Beneath the surface, hidden from plain sight, was a colossal statue of Pharaoh Seti I. Although recovered in pieces, the team managed to pin down Seti's identity through the hieroglyphic inscriptions on the statue. As they delved deeper, even more intriguing artifacts came to light.
