Something was taken from you. Not lost, not misplaced, taken. You know the difference.
There was a relationship, a position, a dream, maybe a business, a reputation, a version of yourself you can barely remember. And whoever took it is still walking free.
The church told you to be patient, to forgive and forget, to trust God's timing and let it go. But what if that advice was only half the truth? What if the Bible says something far more specific about what happens next?
Because here is what most Christians are never taught. God is not just a God who forgives. He is a God of restitution. Proverbs 6:31 says, "The thief must repay sevenfold. Not one day, not eventually, sevenfold."
And today I'm going to show you the seven signs that your restoration is no longer approaching. It has already been released. The problem is not your faith. The problem is what you were taught faith expects of you.
You were told to pray quietly and wait. You were told that claiming your restoration was pride. That wanting back what was taken from you was selfish. But David ran at Goliath. He did not wait for Goliath to fall on his own. Elijah prayed seven times. He did not pray once and call it done.
The truth within faith is this. God's promises are not passive and neither is your role in receiving them. If no one has ever told you that, stay right here because we are just getting started.

Today, we apply what the Bible actually says about restoration. Here are the seven signs that God is about to restore what was stolen from you.
Sign one, the stolen thing no longer controls your identity. This is the most counterintuitive sign of all. When restoration is near, God does something unexpected first. He disconnects your sense of self from the stolen thing. You stop introducing yourself by what you lost. You stop measuring your worth by the relationship that ended. You stop defining yourself by the position that was taken.
This is not resignation. This is not settling. This is God making room. Because here is the truth religion rarely teaches. God does not restore what was stolen back into a broken container. He rebuilds the container first, then he fills it. Joseph in the pit did not spend years in Egypt mourning the coat his brothers stripped from him. By the time Pharaoh dressed him in royal linen, Joseph had already become someone the coat could no longer define. The coat was a symbol. The palace was the substance. When the stolen thing no longer holds you hostage, the restoration has already begun internally. God is building the version of you that can carry what is coming.
Sign two. What was taken is being visibly misused by whoever took it. This is uncomfortable to say, but it is biblical. Watch what happens when anointing lands on hands that were never prepared for it. Saul was given the kingdom. He could not carry it. What was placed in his hands became a burden, not a crown. The things God specifically prepared you to carry hold a grace that does not transfer to someone else. The assignment goes with the carrier. If the person who took what belongs to you is struggling to hold it together, that is not coincidence. Their inability to thrive with what they stole is the evidence that it was never truly theirs. Stolen anointing does not multiply in foreign hands. It bears witness against the one who holds it. And God keeps perfect inventory.
Sign three. God is meeting your needs through unexpected channels. You are not where you thought you would be by now. The position is gone. The income shifted. The support network fell through. And yet somehow you are still here. Somehow the bill got paid. Somehow the door opened just in time. Religion calls this survival. The Bible calls this manner. When God is preserving you in the wilderness, it is never random. He does not maintain what he intends to abandon. Elijah sat by the brook Cherith and ravens brought him bread and meat, not because ravens feed people, because God commanded it. That provision was not the blessing. It was the bridge to the blessing. If God is supernaturally sustaining your life right now, he is not keeping you alive to watch you stay small. He is keeping you alive because the full restoration requires you standing on your feet when it arrives. Mana in the wilderness is never the final word. It is proof that the promised land is still the plan.
Sign four. Your prayers have shifted from give it back to make me ready. Pay close attention to this one. In the beginning, your prayers were desperate and transactional. Lord, give it back. Lord, fix it. Lord, make it the way it was. But somewhere in the waiting, something changed. Your prayers became deeper. You stopped praying for the thing and started praying for the capacity to steward it well. You began asking for discernment, for character, for wisdom you did not need before. This is not you lowering your expectations. This is the Holy Spirit interceding at a level your own mind could not reach. Paul said, "The spirit helps us in our weakness and intercedes with groanings too deep for words." When your prayer language evolves, your spirit already knows what your mind has not yet caught up to. The request changed because the answer is close. God is not training you for survival. He is training you for authority.

Sign five. Doors are opening in rooms you never knocked on. This is one of the most precise signs of imminent restoration. Introductions are being made that you did not arrange. Opportunities are gravitating toward you without explanation. And when you trace the thread back, you realize something important. These are the exact rooms the stolen thing was supposed to lead you to. God is not giving you a consolation prize. He is bypassing the broken road and delivering you to the same destination. When Joseph arrived in Pharaoh's palace, he did not travel the road his brothers planned. His brothers sold him. God rrooted him. The destination was always the palace. The brothers only changed the road. What they thought they were blocking, they were actually accelerating. If unexpected openings are appearing in your life right now, God is not compensating you for what was lost. He is completing the original plan on a faster timeline than the thief intended. They delayed the road. They could not delay the destination.
Sign six, your story is already helping someone else. This is the sign most people overlook entirely. You find yourself telling what happened to you, not to complain, not to seek sympathy, to counsel. Someone came to you broken in a similar situation and your words steadied them. You spoke from experience and something in them shifted. Here is the theological weight of that moment. God does not give you a testimony before the ending is secured. He would not allow your story to become a source of hope for others if he intended to leave your story unresolved. Your testimony is not evidence that you survived the theft. It is a prophetic announcement that the restoration is coming. Because God does not leave his own words without fulfillment. What he allows you to speak over someone else's situation, he will prove true in yours. The moment your wound became someone else's medicine, God signed the restoration papers.
Sign seven. A quiet certainty has settled in your spirit. This is the final sign and the most sacred of all. It is not excitement. It is not emotional hype. It is not loud faith. It is a quiet unshakable knowing. Job sat in ashes. His body was destroyed. His friends accused him of hidden sin. Everything visible in his life said God had abandoned him. And in the middle of all of it, Job said this. I know that my redeemer lives and in the end he will stand on the earth. Not I hope not I believe if I earn it not maybe one day I know that kind of certainty does not come from positive thinking. It does not come from a good week or an encouraging sermon. It comes from an encounter with the nature of God himself. When you stop asking whether the restoration is coming and start asking how to prepare for it, that shift is not you pretending. That is God signaling that the release has already happened in the heavenly realm and it is now moving through the earth to find you. The knowing comes before the evidence. It always has. It always will.
Let me ask you something directly. How many of these seven signs are active in your life right now? 1, 3, all seven. Here is what the religious system rarely tells you. You do not need all seven to know that you are in the process. One sign is enough.
Because in God's economy, the process always ends the same way. The Bible does not say the thief might be caught. Proverbs 6:31 says, "When the thief is found, he shall restore sevenfold." Not someday. Not if you forgive fast enough. Not if you earn it, not if you pray the right number of times or use the right words. Sevenfold. Because the law of the covenant demands it.
This is not motivation. This is not a feel-good message. This is contractual. God made a covenant. and he has never broken one. What was taken from you is not lost. It is in debt to you. And God is the one collecting.
You are not the first person to sit exactly where you are sitting. David sat in a cave while Saul hunted him with a trained army. Ruth stood in a foreign field with nothing but loyalty and unresolved grief. Hannah wept in the temple year after year, while others around her celebrated children she did not yet have. None of them looked like restoration was coming. Every visible signal said they were finished. And every single one of them received what was theirs. Not because they performed perfectly, not because they never doubted, but because God is faithful to his own nature. And his nature does not change based on how long the weight has been. His nature is to restore. And you are not outside of that nature.
