How to make sure you always have a water supply for your hydro power. Um, what I love about this is that I don't have to worry about carrying tanks of water in the van. It takes up very little space and I can just plug it in to uh a tap wherever I'm wherever the job is and uh off you go.
Basically, the only problem with that is making sure that you always have that water supply available and maybe even checking with the customer uh to make sure they've got an outside tap. Um, but whatever the case may be, there's always incidents where this could potentially be a problem. So, there's a number of things I've done to always make sure I'm able to access a water supply. So, I just wanted to show you.
Now, for ease of use, what I carry with me is uh just a length of hose like this. This is just a regular garden hose. Um, and what I've done is I've just cut one in half. So, this is about 15 m. Um, I don't have to worry about carrying around a hose reel, but um, it's just enough. I know that this is about the right amount. Most houses that I clean, it usually reaches from the back of the house where the tap might be all the way around to the front.
Now, of course, on all my hoses, I have these um, hose lock connectors. These are very common in the UK, these uh, hose locks. And that's the same as the fitting on the bottom of the hydro. So I know that will connect on um to there nice and quickly and easily.
Now this is a common outside tap you're likely to find. Now when they're fitted, they'll just have a spout um like this. So maybe a customer will have an outside tap, but they might not have the correct fittings. This is the um the spare hose lock. And it usually comes um with a separate adapter like so for um possible smaller taps. So I always keep a few of these handy in the van. And all it does is it just unscrews that section like that. And this one will just screw on like so. And then the water supply will just connect on like that. So, it's pretty simple and that's if everything goes to plan.
What hap can happen is they haven't got the right fitting. Even with the adapter, it doesn't quite fit. If it's a really old tap, um, something like that. So, what I've also make sure I carry with me is one of these. This will basically fit on to any size tap and it just tightens um with a screwdriver there. So, it just squeezes on like that. Just make sure you push it on far enough and then give it a tighten with a screwdriver and that will give you the fitting to make sure um you have the water supply.
Now, if a customer doesn't have an outside tap, it might mean that you end up using an inside tap, in which case sometimes this will also fit on some indoor taps. Um, so that's a really good uh little attachment to have with you. Alternatively, I've also carry one of these. Now, this is a really good um attachment that will fit onto an out an indoor tap that way, and then it just clamps down. There's a rubber seal in there to make sure you get a nice seal. Um and then you're able to use um someone's indoor tap. So, that's really good as well.
