Good afternoon Emma. How nice to see you again. I see you are just returning from the supermarket. Did you do a lot of grocery shopping today?

Good afternoon, uh, Lisa. Yes, I just got home. I had a whole list of things I needed. That's why I stayed at the supermarket a bit longer than planned.

I recognize that. I actually only went for bread and milk, but in the end, I came out with two full bags. That happens to me almost every week.

I have that often too. You keep seeing new offers, and before you know it, your shopping cart is completely full. Today, I really couldn't pass up some of the offers.

Which offers were there then? There was a discount on vegetables, fruit, and different types of cheese. I also bought some extra pasta and rice because they were on offer.

That sounds good. I also always try to take advantage of offers. Prices have risen quite a bit lately, after all.

Indeed. That's why I compare prices more often nowadays. Sometimes I even go to two different supermarkets to save money.

I do that sometimes too. Today I went to Albert Heijn. Where did you go?

I also went to Albert Heijn. It was quite busy, especially around the vegetable department. I even had to wait a bit to get to it.

That doesn't surprise me. Many people do their grocery shopping around this time. Fortunately, I wasn't in a big hurry today.

Me neither, fortunately. I actually found it quite pleasant to look around calmly. Sometimes you discover products you normally never buy.

That's true. Today I brought a new kind of tea. I'm curious if it's tasty.

Oh, what kind of tea is it? A herbal tea with mint and lemon. I like to drink tea in the evening while I read a book.

That sounds delicious. I usually drink green tea, but I try something new now and then. Do you have plans for tonight?

Nothing much special. I want to put away the groceries first, and then I'm going to cook. I think I'll make a vegetable soup.

Homemade soup is always tasty. Do you make it entirely yourself?

Yes, usually. I use fresh vegetables and make a large pot right away. Then I also have food for tomorrow.

That's handy. I often cook something extra so that I have less work the next day.

Exactly. Especially on busy days, that's very nice. Then you only have to heat something up.

Have you actually heard that there will be a neighborhood barbecue organized next week?

Yes, I read something about it in the neighborhood app. It seems like fun to go there. I'm also thinking about going. It's always nice to get to know the neighbors a bit better.

Definitely. We've lived on the same street for years, but I hardly know some people.

I have that too. Such a barbecue is a great opportunity to chat with everyone.

Absolutely. Maybe we can go together. That seems like a good idea. Then we'll arrange a time next week. What time we leave.

Fine. I'm already looking forward to it. How is your garden doing, by the way? I saw recently that you planted new flowers.

Thank you for noticing. Yes, last month I bought new flowers. Fortunately, they are growing well thanks to the nice weather.

It looks really beautiful. Especially the colorful flowers along the path are immediately noticeable.

That's sweet of you to say. Gardening has become one of my favorite hobbies.

I can imagine. It also gives a lot of peace to be busy outside.

Certainly. After a busy day, I love to work in the garden for a while.

Maybe I should do that more often too. My garden could use some extra attention.

If you want, I can give you some tips. I've learned a lot in recent years.

That would be great. Maybe I'll come by for advice soon.

You are always welcome. We can have a cup of coffee then too.

That sounds cozy. But now I first have to bring my groceries inside.

I should actually do that too, otherwise the refrigerated products will stay out too long.

Then I wish you a nice evening in advance and good luck with cooking.

Thank you, Lisa. You too. A nice evening. Enjoy your tea and your book.

I certainly will. See you soon.

See you soon, Lisa. Have a nice evening.

Thank you, Lisa. I'm going to start putting away the groceries right away. Otherwise, I'll forget something in the bag later.

I recognize that. Last week I only found a carton of yogurt the next morning that I had forgotten in the kitchen.

Fortunately, it wasn't that bad for me, but I have bought vegetables that I then completely forgot to use.

That happens to me too. That's why I now try to make a weekly menu before I go grocery shopping.

That's actually a smart idea. Then you only buy what you really need and throw away less.

Exactly. Moreover, you often save money because you make fewer impulse purchases.

Maybe I should try that too. I notice that I sometimes buy things because they are on offer, even though I don't really need them.

That sounds familiar, but okay. Sometimes it's also nice to treat yourself to something extra.

You're right about that. Today, for example, I bought a piece of chocolate as a treat for tonight.

Delicious. After a busy day, that's allowed. I treated myself to a fresh pastry today.

That also sounds very tasty. Maybe I'll bring something nice with my coffee tomorrow.

Good thought. The weekend is almost over, after all, so you can enjoy it a bit longer.

Absolutely. I hope the nice weather lasts a bit longer. Then I can also spend some time in the garden tomorrow.

I think it will be sunny again tomorrow. That would be perfect for some gardening.

That would be nice. Maybe I'll plant a few extra flowers if I have time. I'm curious how it will look.

Your garden gets more beautiful every time.

Thank you, Lisa. I like hearing that.

No problem. But now I'm really going inside before my frozen products thaw.

That seems wise. I'm going to get started quickly too.

Once again, have a nice evening, Emma.

You too, have a very nice evening, Lisa.

Bye Emma.

Bye Lisa.
