If you think your man can just turn off his sex drive the way that you can, you don't understand men. A man's sex drive is not a choice. It's not a mood and it's not something he can turn off, especially when it's inconvenient for you.
Women, we have the luxury of compartmentalizing our sexuality. We can go days, weeks, sometimes longer without even thinking about sex and we can feel completely fine. We can be stressed, emotional, overwhelmed, and sex is still the last thing on our minds. That is a very female experience, right?
Men don't have that option. A man's sex drive is biological. It's constant and it is running in the background of his brain every single day. Okay? Studies show that men think about sex way more than women. Is it because they're pigs or perverts? No. But because that is literally how their brain is wired.
Testosterone is no joke. It is a very powerful hormone that drives him. Everything, his desire, his motivation, his aggression, his ambition, and his sex drive. You can't separate them. They are in the same engine. Okay? It's like asking someone to stop being hungry. Okay? You can ignore it. You can distract yourself from it, but it doesn't go away.
So, when your man comes to you and he wants sex and you constantly shut him down, dismiss him, or make him feel like his needs are a burden or an inconvenience to you. You're not just rejecting sex like you think you are. You're rejecting him. Him, his masculinity, his desire for you specifically, and he will never tell you that. He's just going to get quiet. He will get distant, and you're going to wonder what happened to the man that you fell in love with. Okay?
Women don't realize that a man who feels chronically rejected by his woman, he doesn't just get over it. He either starts to pull away emotionally, he checks out completely of the relationship, or he starts looking for it. Okay, somewhere else. He needs that validation.
If you want a masculine man, driven, protective, present, devoted man, you have to understand what fuels him. And part of what fuels him is feeling wanted by his woman and giving that primal animalistic drive to her. Okay? You need to understand what you're dealing with because dismissing any of that drive, sorry, it doesn't make it go away. It just makes them feel alone inside of the relationship.
