Synastry- Sun/Venus aspects

Truth In Aspect Astrology/ Jewel22:12

In synistry, when we have the conjunction between the Sun and Venus, this is a very good aspect. The Sun person really appraises the Venus person as somebody who is like the perfect match. They see a lot of what is very valuable to them.

And both people have this idea about each other that the other person has a lot to celebrate. There's a lot that we like about the other person, a lot of value. So we find a lot of beauty and the kind of qualities in each other that we appreciate. The appreciation factor with the easy aspects from Sun to Venus is very, very high. So we see each other like, um, our obvious mate, our obvious companion, like, "Of course, that's who I would be with." And we see a lot of, um, qualities in each other that other people may not really bring their attention to. We see some of the more ordinary things about each other as extraordinary or as worth celebrating, worth appreciating.

So this is a, uh, a good thing to have in any relationship. The good aspects between Sun and Venus are good in any relationship because of the amount of appreciation and the way that we appraise each other as somebody who has some qualities that we really adore. But it is not a Neptunian kind of, uh, rosy glow that we put around each other. There's not a denial of what each other is. We're not looking past what each other is really about. We're looking specifically at what impresses us individually, and it feels good to feel impressive and to feel like we're with somebody who is an asset to us.

The sextile and the trine and the quintile between Sun and Venus are just as simple as the conjunction. There really isn't any, um, game playing that occurs because it's just very easy to interpret each other's motives and to respond to each other correctly and to form a friendship that can flow into a relationship very, very easily because we are really looking at what we like about each other. We fit through each other's appraisal filter very well with the conjunction, the sextile, the trine. And it's not uncommon for us to start up a conversation or start to get to know each other very quickly. Not with the Uranian kind of zing that just kind of sweeps us off of our feet. It can be sweepy off of our feet, absolutely, but it's not that bolt from the blue like we see with Uranus aspects. It's more of a real recognition of what qualities somebody actually has and really, really appreciating that and communicating that to the other person.

So there's a lot that we will have in common when we have the good aspects between the Sun and Venus because two big factors in our personality are in harmony. The Sun and Venus are huge when it comes to personality. These are inner planets. Um, when we enjoy the same kinds of activities, we enjoy the same kind of objects of beauty, there's going to be a lot to agree on. Socially, it can be very natural to hang out together, to enjoy a lot of the same activities, foods, friends, types of entertainment. So there can be quite a lot to do together when we have these easy aspects between the Sun and Venus and we enjoy social activity. With the sextile and the trine, that doesn't mean that we'll have a giant network of friends, but, um, there's a generosity and a warmth and a mutual liking and appreciation of each other that makes other people around people that have these good aspects between them between Sun and Venus, it makes other people feel good. So there's, um, there's a bit of a contagious harmony with, uh, either the conjunction, the sextile, the trine, or the quintile.

And the trine in particular is known for bringing a lot of contentment or satisfaction into the relationship, and we're not really motivated to find more or to wonder if the grass is greener on the other side. The trine in particular between the Sun and Venus makes it very easy to find a kind of long-term agreement and appreciation that can fill us up and provide a lot of long-term contentment. So we don't tend to want for more. There won't be a lot of growth where we're not motivated to grow with trines. And, in particular, I think because just the nature of the Sun and Venus when they're found in a trine, we're just pretty happy with what we've got. So there isn't a desire to add more. And these can be very sustaining aspects. These, uh, easy aspects between the Sun and Venus, particularly the trine.

Of all of the aspects between Sun and Venus in synistry, the trine is most sustaining because of the high value of satisfaction that we find in each other. And it's a product of how the other person is. It's not a product of what they do or they're providing or their level of responsibility or how they, um, bring added status to our life. It's the way that we treat each other and the qualities of our personality that really make us just happy, is two peas in a pod.

The square between the Sun and Venus does not always bring out our best features. It does tend to bring out some of the superficial, potential selfish sides of the Venus person, and the Sun person tends to act in the most, uh, stereotypical form of their sign, the sign that their Sun comes in. So with, uh, Cancer, we can be stereotypically shy. With Scorpio, we can be stereotypically jealous. Um, with Taurus, we can be stereotypically stubborn. Aries, stereotypically selfish. So it just tends to bring out, um, what I would call a caricature of whatever sign our Sun tends to come in. It just really pulls out some of those extreme qualities described by the sign.

And the square does tend to bring out some of the selfish qualities in the Venus person, like they're looking to have their self-esteem contributed to and are looking a lot of times to hook up with the Sun person to make themselves feel better about themselves. This is not a hugely bad aspect to have. There's plenty of people that actually negotiate their way around this one, and if we have other harmonies in the relationship, this is definitely not going to be something that is one of the sticking points. But it can, um, and already more selfish or superficial personalities bring out more of that instead of some of our better qualities. So, um, it is not a deal breaker. It generally won't stop a relationship from forming either. But we can find that, um, we trigger self-indulgence or selfishness in the other person, and we may not realize that it's our influence that really brings those qualities out in the other person. To each other, we just tend to look selfish, but we don't realize that we may not be displaying those parts of our personality when in the presence of other people. So the influence we have on each other is very interesting. Um, with this particular square, there is a lot of attraction that is there. We don't lack for physical appreciation of each other or finding that our personal pride is enhanced by the association with each other. We do tend to enhance each other's status.

With the good aspects, I see most of the aspects between Sun and Venus because everybody likes to feel good about somebody that they're with and to feel better about themselves because we're with somebody who's beautiful and pleasing to us. And so the square is, um, something that in, in, you know, certain relationships, really is not going to be a big deal at all, given the nature of the relationship. I think in friendships, it does bring out quite a bit of our selfishness because we're really looking for the other person to fulfill a need for attention or love or beauty. So we're getting into the interaction wanting something. And if we're both wanting that kind of attention rather than to be the attention giver, then that's where we can kind of run into problems. But these don't have to be hugely difficult aspects if we have other harmonies.

The opposition between the Sun and Venus is interesting. In friendships, it can bring some amount of competitiveness or seeing in each other some of the qualities that we may not love in ourselves. There can be some amount of mild projection there. So it can bring out some jealousy, and it's a funny thing because we're actually jealous of ourselves, if you really think about it. So it's kind of a catty, minor thing. In casual relationships, a little bit of competitiveness. In romantic relationships, it's a fine aspect to have. We do tend to see a lot of what we've been waiting to see in another person, not so much, uh, Neptunian projections, but really seeing that the other person has some behaviors, some likes, dislikes, qualities to them that we think are pretty darn cool and that we've always kind of hoped that we would get to find in somebody. So it's a very natural thing to fall in with each other with the opposition, and it's an easy aspect. I don't consider this to be a hard aspect. But the flaws that we see in each other in casual relationships with the opposition, that doesn't tend to be a thing that we focus on in romantic relationships.

So we start to evaluate each other right away with the opposition because there's a really good sense of the other person having some remarkably interesting qualities that we may want to fall in with. We want to attach ourselves to that kind of beauty, to that kind of grace. So we tend to see great value in each other right from the beginning. A lot of people do feel like they knew that they were going to be with the person that they have the opposition with, or they had a feeling right from the beginning that they were going to be able to form a relationship or that they were going to be with each other. And I think it really goes to having such an ease of falling in with each other that it just doesn't seem like there should be a barrier to things progressing or forming. And on top of that, we really are seeing some behaviors and even physical qualities that we've been wanting to see. There is a certain amount of projection that is going on here, but the likelihood that we are going to be in tune with those projections, the other person is actually going to have some of the substance underneath that projection that we're looking for, the likelihood is pretty high. So this isn't, these aren't airy-fairy Neptune difficult aspects. These are more, you know, really looking and seeing that, "Oh, that person is a doctor. I've always wanted to be with a doctor. How wonderful!" And I like them too. So there's just a lot of seeing the qualities and things in each other that we've really been waiting for, but not in a toxic, "I'm going to look past everything" kind of Neptunian way. We're actually taking everything into account.

With the Sun-Venus aspects, we're not looking past things. We're just choosing to focus on what those pleasing, valuable qualities are. And what we value in each other with these Sun-Venus aspects may be what other people are overlooking. It may be what other people aren't even paying attention to. It may be what we ourselves don't really find to be a big deal, but the other person just thinks it is super cool. So, um, yeah, the opposition, I would say that might even be the quickest one when it comes to having us form a relationship, that there's just a feeling of, you know, a natural give and take right from the beginning.

The inconjunction is not a very common aspect to see in functioning relationships. It brings up a feeling of owing each other or of obligation or of guilt. So it's one of those things where we can end up having something to do with each other because, say, we feel sorry for the other person, or we feel like we owe them something, or we just feel really guilty that, you know, they haven't had a date in five years. So it can make it a little creepy sometimes why we are together. And we really want to look at why we're actually spending time with each other. If we have other healthy things going on, reasonable things going on in the relationship, we can definitely deal with an inconjunction like this. It's not implying an incompatibility when it comes to behaviors or values. It's more giving of ourselves, not so much out of a desire to, but because we think we should in some way. So the other person can begin to feel like a burden because we want to feel light and airy and happy in our relationships. And if we feel like the other person is needing something from us that is taxing, or that we are just putting in our time until we get to feel good again, then that's going to be something that really starts to weigh on us over the course of time, more and more and more. It can be hard to say no to each other as well. It can be hard to assert ourselves with the inconjunction.

So between the obligation and the guilt that we can often deal with each other with, and the inability to say no, there can be quite a lot of resentment that can build up between the two of us over the course of time. So it actually is not a common thing to see in functioning relationships because most people don't want to take on a serious relationship. They don't want to deepen a relationship that has had this that has this in it because we just may not want to commit to that fully. We may not want to take this all the way when we've discovered that we don't really have the desire to do things out of wanting to. It's more because we feel that we need to.

And we can also find some of each other's preferences kind of creepy or kind of, you know, not what we would choose. Like, you know, one of us loves disco and the other one just cannot get over that and just thinks it's an unforgivable sin. So differences in styles that can be very difficult to come to agreements about. Foods, friends, tastes can be very, very different. So we may share less things. We may not have a lot of harmony when it comes to tastes. Spending money can also be something we can have some disagreements about. So if we see this inconjunction, we will want to pay attention to it because it can lead to some divisions.
