Natural Deep Hair Conditioner

Hey Brooke, a lot of you guys have been asking me what sorts of natural conditioners I make at home, and there are quite a few actually that I've made that I really like.

There's one in particular that I've been using recently that I've been really enjoying, so I thought I'd share it with you guys. It's a kind of a mousse made out of oils, and it's just really easy to use, and it makes my hair feel really nourished and conditioned and really amazing.

It's really simple to do. What you need is shea butter, coconut oil, some vitamin E oil, which helps to preserve it as well as nourish your hair, and some rosemary and lavender oil, which I really good feel here. Rosemary oil helps to promote hair growth, and lavender oil helps with the health of your scalp as well as nourishing your hair. So there are some essential oils, but you could mix it up and use different ones depending on what benefits you want.

And then you just want to mix them all together, whipped up, basically. It's as simple as that. So firstly, what I do is put 1/3 of a cup of shea butter into a bowl and a quarter of a cup of coconut oil. Then I add into this one teaspoon of vitamin E oil, about 20 drops of rosemary oil, and about 20 drops of lavender oil. Really simple.

So you want to leave these at room temperature. And if the room temperature is really cold, it can help to soften them a little bit by putting it in sunlight for a couple of minutes, just to soften it up a little bit. Then you want to whisk it out. So it helps if you have an electric whisk, but I just have a handheld electric beater, and either of them work. I use it for about eight to ten minutes and just beat the mixture up until it forms this gorgeous kind of meringue creamy consistency.

And then you can put it into a clean container and store it in the cupboard for a couple of months. And the awesome thing about it, we made purely of oils, is that it has a really long shelf life, which is great.

So the thing that I love the most about this is the consistency of it, the fact that it's so easy to use. You can just grab a dab of it, rub it into your hands, and put it through your hair. I do this on dry hair and just rub it all through my hair, and then I hop into the shower and shave my legs and do other things first. I feel like the heat of the shower really helps to just kind of have that deep conditioning hot oil effect before I wash it out.

And I use a non-sulfate shampoo, for instance, the one that I shared with you guys a couple of weeks ago, or I do an apple cider vinegar rinse. So that's just three parts water to one part apple cider vinegar. I put that in a small bottle before rinsing it through my hair, and then my hair is left feeling amazing.

So the other great thing about the consistency of it is the fact that here, it's a moderately cold climate, and things like coconut oil and shea butter solidify at room temperature. And so you kind of have to do your spoon in there and get this lump out, and then you melt it down, and it's just really unmotivated to use it. So this keeps its kind of creamy consistency, and it's just so easy to use.

And as I said, you can use that as a full body moisturizer if you want to, you can use it for anything like that. It just has awesome benefits for your hair as well. So I hope you guys enjoyed this and try it out. It's so simple to do, and it just, yeah, it feels amazing. You can make it for gifts or anything like that as well.

So I hope you guys enjoyed this, and I hope you guys have an amazing day.
