If people keep trying to manipulate you, it's not because you're weak. It's because you're predictable. And that ends today.

Hello, my name is Gracie Daskovich. If you're new here, welcome to my channel. If you recognize me, welcome back. Today, I'm going to be telling you exactly how to be less predictable and really difficult to manipulate so that people stop getting one over on you. The world is filled with monsters, unfortunately, and you need to develop certain skills in order to survive, especially if you are a pretty woman or an attractive person in general. You're going to attract a lot of attention, and sometimes for the most part, it's bad attention. And you need to know how to defend yourself and protect yourself. And one of the ways to do that is being very extremely difficult to manipulate and control.

Section one, what makes someone manipulatable? If you overexplain things, if you're a people pleaser, if you overshare too fast, if you need external validation, these are all signs that you're mentally not as strong as someone that's probably wanting to manipulate you. These are all signs of weakness. You need to fix them and patch them up immediately.

Stop overexplaining yourself. You don't owe anybody an explanation for anything. Okay? You're allowed to make decisions and do things in your life just like any other person is. And you don't owe anyone, especially not everyone, an explanation as to why you do things. Hold your ground. Have some confidence in the actions that you do, the things that you say, and stop overexplaining it to people.

When it comes to people pleasing, I have a whole another video on this, but it's going to rip you apart. Okay? Not only does it make you a gigantic target, you're going to lose yourself along the way. If you're a people pleaser, you need to step back and ask yourself, "Why do I care so much about people liking me?" Start doing things for yourself instead of the validation of other people. You think that you're pleasing people by being a people pleaser, but you're really just pleasing yourself and being selfish because you want to appear as someone that's going to please other people and it's leading you to be fake. You need to protect who you are, be confident in your choices, and stop caring about being liked. Okay? When you care about being liked, you're very easy to control and manipulate. Learn to stop caring.

And when it comes to oversharing too fast, you need to make people earn your grace and earn your vulnerability. Don't just give people the tools to control you and manipulate you by sharing with them your trauma and why you act the way that you act or by showing too much emotion to people that you don't trust yet. Manipulators are professionals at taking what they know is trauma and hurts you and turning it into something that benefits them and they'll ultimately use it to control you. So be very careful who you share things with, especially when it comes to trauma and very private vulnerable things about yourself.

And needing external validation goes back to the people pleasing thing. You need to base your self-worth off of yourself internally. You can't get it externally. Otherwise, you're very, very, very easy to control. You're an easy target if you rely on people's validation and comments on you and their compliments. To have any good feelings about yourself, you need to learn how to find that confidence within so that you're a power unit and nobody can take that control away from you.

Okay, now that you know why people can manipulate you, let's talk about how to stop it. Because here's the thing, emotional manipulators don't go after everybody. They only go after people they believe that they can read and easily control. They look for people who react a certain way. They study your triggers, your tone, the way your face changes when you're uncomfortable. So, the first step to all of this is becoming unreadable.

This is section two, dark psychology concepts. I like to do this thing called gray rocking. It means giving flat, emotionless, basic answers to someone who's obviously trying to bait you. If someone's fishing for gossip or they're trying to guilt trip you, this is a great way to give them nothing. This is essentially you just not taking the bait. Look at my cat being very naughty in the background. He's always messing around in the back of my videos when I'm trying to film something and causing a ruckus.

Anyways, when you're gray rocking someone, don't explain yourself. Do not react and don't justify why you're not reacting and your responses. Stay very neutral. Give them nothing. Okay? When you give them these reactions and you let them know your triggers and you feed into the bait, you're giving them access to your emotions, and we don't want that.

Another thing I like to do is called reverse mirroring. Normally, manipulators will mirror you, okay? They copy your tones, your values, your vibe. They do this to get you to trust them. I've taught this in my previous video, okay? Which can be used for good things, but unfortunately, a lot of people that are bad in this world already know about this. The manipulators most of the time already know about this. They're already doing this. So you as a good person might as well know their tactics and use them for good too or as defense. But if they start mirroring you, you can flip it. Start mirroring them subtly though. Match their energy, their tone, even their word choices just for a little bit and then pull back because that micro push-pull causes confusion. They don't know if they're leading or following. And that's the power. This is your secret weapon when you're battling a narcissist or someone that likes to manipulate you. It's a game of power.

Number three on the psychology tactics is interruption tactics. This is another thing that you can do if someone's trying to manipulate you. People try to control you by creating loops, asking questions, poking at your insecurities and they'll demand answers fast, even feel entitled to you and your personal life. You need to break that loop. Change the subject. Pause. Interrupt them. Say something like, "Interesting. Anyway," and change the subject. Pivot. You're showing them that they don't control the tempo of your mind. You do. This is essentially just taking back your power in conversation and not letting them control the way conversations and every interaction with you with them goes. You have free will. You're able to steer the conversation yourself and not just fall into their power trap.

The next one is strategic silence. I talk about this one a lot and I love this. Silence is a weapon. Okay? Most people will feel the silence because they feel awkward with like gossiping, oversharing, or apologizing just for existing. But when you get quiet and you take a long pause before saying anything or you don't respond to something rude or that was passive aggressive towards you, it makes the other person spiral. Let them spiral. That is the whole point. You want them to spiral. You want to see them lose control. When they know they're losing control because you didn't give them that reaction that they were so anticipating because they thought they read you. You are not obligated to manage their emotions. And I don't know about you, but when someone thinks they're smarter than me or can get one over on me and they're manipulating me, I love to see them spiral. So again, use silence as the secret weapon that it really truly is.

Now, we're on to section three, and these are emotional power habits of the unshakable woman. Being hard to manipulate doesn't mean that you're a cold hard person, okay? It means being emotionally regulated and disciplined. You need emotional discipline in this life for all aspects, okay? Not just when it comes to being hard to manipulate. It means not letting people knock you off center, no matter how sweet or scary or intimidated by them you might be.

One, learn to observe, not absorb. When someone's trying to emotionally hijack you, whether that's flattery or with guilt, your job is to observe. You feel the reaction coming up and bubbling on the surface and you pause. Don't absorb it and don't act on it. Just note it mentally like a scientist. That's how you become unshakable. That's how you fall out of the power trap. That's how you stop giving people your reactions, aka emotional currency. You're paying them emotionally when you give them a reaction and you fall into the trap. So before you act on that impulse of wanting to react, don't absorb it. Observe it and take note of it before you do anything.

Two, you need to kill the need to be liked. Okay, here's the hard truth. As long as you care about being liked, you will be super easy to control because people can smell that need. Okay? Insecurity reeks and manipulators are very, very emotionally tuned to pick up on this. When you stop needing approval, you stop being available for emotional blackmail.

Three, rehearse your boundaries like a language. You don't just set boundaries once. You practice them. You practice saying, "No, I'm not comfortable with that." You rehearse ways to say no without explaining because confidence is built in rehearsal, not in the moment. So, if you're out interacting with a lot of people frequently, you need to make sure that you're really comfortable and rehearsed with your boundaries.

Now, we're moving on to section four, the energy shift that ends manipulation forever. Your energy speaks much louder than words. Okay. The reason some women are impossible to manipulate isn't just because of what they say, but how they carry themselves.

One, soft face, but sharp mind. You don't have to be aggressive and you don't have to raise your voice. The most powerful energy is calm, unreadable, and decisive. You smile softly, and you say less because the less they know, the less they can use against you.

Two, emotional detachment is protection. Not everyone deserves your empathy. Being kind doesn't directly translate to being emotionally available to everyone. Detach completely from the idea that you need to fix people. You are not a therapist, definitely not a free one. You're not going to be cold. You're going to be selective. And that's extremely important when it comes to protecting yourself. You need to know how to emotionally detach from things, people, and situations in order to be less easy to control.

And three, let people wonder. Being mysterious protects you. Okay? The less people know about you, the better. The moment they think they've got you all figured out, that's when they start trying to control you. So, don't give them the full script to your life. Let them wonder what you're really thinking. Let them question if they still have access. That's how you hold the stronger upper hand without even having to say a word. Use mystery to your benefit.

If you're done letting people pull your strings like you're a puppet, if you're ready to become unreadable, untouchable, and unbothered, this is just the beginning. Make sure to subscribe.
