Well, we've been studying Galatians, and um, we are on the third installment. Am I right?
Yes, sir.
And um, we have found quite some gems along the way. But I can assure you, it gets sweeter and it gets better because, like, you know, the structure of the book of Galatians, chapter 1 and chapter 2, the apostle of liberty. Chapter 3 and chapter 4 is what?
The doctrine of liberty. You've forgotten so soon.
Okay. You were booting, right?
Yes, sir.
Okay. Are you done? All right. Chapter three and chapter four, the doctrine of liberty. Am I right?
Yes, sir.
And then chapter five and chapter six, life, the life of liberty.
One of the things that would become so easy for you when you understand the truth of God's word that we've been studying is how to take yourself less seriously. You'd learn it. How to enjoy the ride called life. Some of you are more serious than God. Even God has kept aside a very special certificate for you. When he finally meets you, or you meet him, he's kept aside a very special certificate for you. The way you wake up, it amazes God. You wake up with a frown. So tell the person beside you, calm down.
Calm down.
Even the calm down is violent. There's something about the presence of Jesus that just transforms you and makes you a sweet soul. Sweet soul. You're just so pleasant to be around.
Just so pleasant to be around.
Well, Galatians chapter 2, and um, we got as far as verse 16. Am I right?
Yes, sir.
And we said verse 16 is Paul giving us his, um, that's the statement. That's, in fact, the whole of Galatians. That's all he was trying to say. Remember the context. He's writing to Galatians who have been, um, wrongly instructed by Judaisers. These are men who came from Jerusalem and who said, "Hey guys, um, all that Paul has said to you cannot be true." Okay? Um, even if it's true, there's what you must add to it. You must be circumcised. You've got to keep the law of Moses. You've got to do all of these things before you can say you're truly a believer. And so Paul had to write to the Galatian church to correct those excesses.
Now, why is doctrine important? Why is it very important? The most dangerous thing on earth is when scripture is weaponized as deception.
It's the most dangerous thing on earth. There's nothing. In fact, Satan shows us in his two cardinal operations with the first Adam and the last Adam that the highest level of deception is when the truth of scripture is twisted or made to say what it did not say. That's the highest level of deception that any man can face. It's the highest level. So when Satan came to meet Adam, what did he say to Adam? "Had God not said?" Which meant his conversation with Adam was predicated on if Adam knew what God said, and could defend what God said.
Is somebody getting what I'm saying?
When he came to Jesus, was it not the same thing he said? "If thou be the son of God." And just some moments ago, some days before, God had said to Jesus, the heavens opened over him, and then he said, "This is my beloved son, in whom I'm well pleased." And so Satan comes around and then he tries to twist it. And you think that's all? He takes a scripture from the book of Psalms and then he cuts it to Jesus. Satan cutting Bible. I know you know, you know what you hear is dependent on where you grew up. The moment I said, "Satan quoting Bible," somebody said, "Eh, I knew it. I knew that that woman is a witch, even though she was quoting Bible." But that's what Satan was doing. He was quoting scriptures. He was telling Jesus, he said, "Isn't it in the scriptures that, all right, he will give his angels charge concerning you? Jump down from here." And all the rest. Now, question: was he quoting the Bible? Yes, he was quoting the scriptures. So if you don't know the scriptures, Satan can use the scriptures to bind you.
And the biggest bondage is bondage of twisted scriptures.
That's the biggest bondage. That's why you've got to know the truth. The fact that you're hearing scriptures or the word of God does not mean you've heard the truth. It has to be rightly divided. Is somebody getting what I'm saying here? And that's why it's important, very important, that every now and then, we, apart from the consistent teaching of God's word that we're exposed to, every now and then, we take time to recalibrate ourselves to the truth of scripture, the doctrines of the word of God. Hallelujah.
Well, and sometimes, I don't know if this ever happened to you, you read something in the Bible and if you're sincere with yourself, you're like, "Are you serious? I've gone so far away from this." It's difficult for you to believe it. Just like the Bible says. How many of you would be sincere with me? You read and you go, and you're almost arguing and you're telling yourself, "Why are you arguing?" But you've gone so far away from it, from those truths that you probably knew before, and you were acquainted with it, but now you're arguing with yourself, telling yourself, "It can't be exactly like that, too." And you know the reason why? You haven't exposed yourself consistently to it. So, let's do that today. Are we ready?
Yes, sir.
Last week, God answered my prayers. Even though I had a lot of people who didn't believe in me and who thought that God would answer my prayers, God shamed my enemies. Glory to God. Again, he will shame them. We'll go very far today. We might even get to Galatians chapter 6. I need your amen. Thank you. Galatians chapter 6, chapter 2, pardon me, and verse 16. He says, "Knowing that a man is..." I'd like us to read it together. What does it say?
"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ."
Hold on. Whose faith justifies him?
Not his own faith. Even the faith that justifies you is a gift.
You couldn't muster up the faith yourself. Even the faith that... Ephesians chapter 2 and verse 8. I'd like us to see something. Ephesians 2 from verse 6 quickly. Ephesians chapter 2 from verse 6. We have a lot of scriptures to cover today, and I'm trusting the Lord that we can cover it. It says, "And had raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." Verse 7 quickly. "That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus." Verse eight, everybody read one to go.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"
Is that beautiful enough? How are you saved? By grace. He says, "through faith." And then he says, "and that not of yourselves."
So even the faith that lays hold on what grace has provided, he said it is the gift of God. It is God who does it.
Is somebody listening to what I'm saying here?
Yes, sir.
Let me explain this to you. When you hear the truth of God's word, it should produce in you, no matter how long you've been hearing it, no matter how well you believe it, every single time it should produce in you that, "Can it be true?" It is. Oh, dear. Put it back on the screen. It says, "For by grace are you what? Saved through faith. And that faith is not even of yourselves. It is the gift of God." It is God that imparts it into your heart at the moment where you hear a certain message. Are you listening to what I'm saying here?
It's God that does that work. Now, go quickly back to that Galatians chapter 2. And you know why this is important? Because this is the crux of Christianity. This is what separates Christianity from every other religion. If you don't understand this, then you really don't understand the essence of the coming of Christ. He didn't bring moral improvement to make us better people. He didn't come to make us, you know, better, better sinners. Okay? Improved sinners. That's not what he came to do. The Bible says that what he brought to us is justification. And two words I want you to keep in your note: justification and righteousness, because both of them come from the same root Greek word. In fact, um, justification is the noun form of the word. Pardon me. Justification is the verbal form of the word, and righteousness is the noun form of the word. Which means when you read justification and you read righteousness, you're talking about the same thing. It's one and the same. Are you getting what I'm saying here?
Okay. So when he uses the word justification, the product of justification, which is an action, is a righteousness, which is a noun, a state. So this action of justification ended in a state. It produced a state. Is somebody getting what I'm saying here?
We'll talk about it in just a bit. Put it back there. "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law." Which means no matter how much he tries, he cannot be justified by the works of the law. And the reason is very simple on two levels. Number one is this: the law does not have the power to justify. I'll show you in just a bit. Don't don't rush. We'll study all the scriptures together today. The law does not have the power to justify. And number two, man did not have the ability to obey all the laws. The law itself said, "If any man broke just one of the law, then he's guilty of all." Which means if you keep nine of it and you broke one, then it is assumed that you broke 10 of it. You didn't have to break 10. All you had to do was break one, and it was assumed that you broke 10 of it. So on two levels, the law was, um, it was impossible to produce the righteousness of God through the law.
Somebody may then ask, "Why then did God introduce the law?" I'll show you in just a bit. It was impossible. Number one is the fact that man, in and of himself, could not even fulfill the righteous demands of the law. Romans the 8th chapter from verse two down to verse three. He said, "For what the law could not do in my sinful flesh." It says, "Christ has done by his spirit." Is somebody getting what I'm saying here? So the law couldn't do it. That's number one. And then number two is that the law itself did not have the power to produce life. So even if you fulfilled all 10 of it, it still won't produce life. It couldn't, it couldn't get anybody justified before God.
Now, go back quickly, or we could read that Romans 8. It would help us for all of... And it, it's important that you take note of all these scriptures. Quite a number of them that we're going to study. Can I have verse two? Verse two to give a bit of context. He says, "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has done what? Made me free from the law of sin and death." Verse three, then he explains it. Look at it. "For what? The law could not do." Say with me, the law could not do.
"in that it was weak through the flesh." He says, "God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin condemned sin where? In the flesh." So whatever the righteous requirements of the law were, Jesus fulfilled it in his flesh. Is somebody getting what I'm saying?
Now, back to Galatians chapter 2 and verse 16. You will love it tonight. I'm telling you the truth. I was in my office and the Lord said, he said, "Many people are going to walk out of perennial sickness just by hearing the things you're sharing tonight." Oh, by the way, did you ever read in John 6? I know I'm jumping the gun. Jesus had fed them with bread, and the multitudes came after Jesus. And Jesus said, "I know you're not here because you want me. You're here because of the miracles." He said, "Labor not for the meat that perishes." Which means miracles perish. "Labor not for the meat which perisheth." He says, "There's a meat that the Son of Man himself will give to you." Then he added this. They, they asked him a question. They said, "How shall we do the works of God?" You'd have expected that Jesus would have given them some very high-falutin theological statement on how they could do the works of God. He said, "This is the work of God, that you believe on him whom he sent." Which means in your believing, the works will be done.
Oh, does it mean by just hearing the things you're sharing here tonight, pastor, cancer can disappear out of my body? Absolutely.
Absolutely. Absolutely. God institutes the anointing and gifts as a shock measure for places where his mercy has to be applied. Are you getting what I'm saying here? But God's ultimate priority, ultimate goal, is that by the hearing of faith, just by the hearing of faith, the exposure to the truth of God's word, a man can literally... What are you getting what I'm saying here? Literally, you don't need, you don't need a prayer session. You, you don't... Are you getting this? You, you don't need to, you don't need to fulfill 10 steps. You don't have to. He that ministereth the Spirit to you and worketh miracles amongst you, doeth he by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
The two greatest things God ever gave to mankind was his righteousness and his Spirit. And both of them came by the hearing of faith. Amen.
We received his righteousness, became saved, justified, simply by believing a message. We received the Spirit simply by believing something. Every other thing comes that way. Are you hearing what I'm saying here?
Yes, sir.
Say amen tonight.
Come on, say amen again tonight.

It says, "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law." He says, "But by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ that we might be what? Justified by the faith of Christ." So if you missed it the first time, he's trying to stress it again. By the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law. For by the works of the law shall no flesh... Come on. Can we read that and echo that out loud together? One, two, go.
"For by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."
I told you justification is a judicial, forensic, legal action. It is not just the pardoning of wrongs. It is not just the glossing over of wrongs. It is not just God saying, "I don't want to be upset with you, and I just want to love you. I'll forget what you have done." Justification is God saying, "Having weighed all the evidences, you are not guilty." I don't know if you understand what I'm saying here.
More often than not, when people teach the mercy of God, we teach it as an emotional thing. We teach it as, you know, an emotional outburst of God that, you know, God being so merciful, just didn't want us to suffer and wanted us to escape the wrath and the judgment, and so because he's God, out of his mercy and his compassion, he forgave us. No, that's not what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that his mercy had to be guided by his justice.
Do you understand what I'm saying here? That in God declaring you just, if he called a sinner righteous without the sinner being truly righteous, then he had become a liar and a partaker of your sins.
Oh, you didn't. Do you understand what I'm saying here?
Which meant, if the evidence was stamped up against you, and everyone, and we could tell that you truly are a sinner, and then God comes on the scene and then God says, "You're not a sinner." He told a lie.
He told a lie. Someone says, "But God can veto it." Well, man handed it over willfully. And so to retrieve it back from Satan and to rework the entire program, he cannot and chose not to veto it. There had to be a system that even when Satan looks at it, he cannot go to no court of appeal.
Do you understand what I'm saying here? You know why you go to court of appeal? Because you think there's some evidence they didn't put into court. You know, I think that the judge didn't... There are some... We're we're packaging. We're coming back. And then you go back and get some more witnesses and all the rest, some more evidence. My Lord, exhibit two. My Lord, exhibit seven. Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? On the cross, every exhibit, the Bible says he nailed it to the cross, taking it out of the way, the handwriting of the ordinances that were written against us. Are you hearing what I'm saying here? No wonder the Bible says, it says, "Now we are justified and we have peace with God."
Are you hearing what I'm saying here?
It wasn't just an emotional outburst.
It was a judicial action to say, "Listen, is righteous."
God said, "I weighed all the evidences. I weighed all the witnesses that you brought. I weighed every circumstance, every scenario, every situation, past, present, future. I weighed it all. And here is my conclusion: the guy is just, can be just." Do you understand this?
Listen to me. If you don't understand this, you don't select back and forth wondering, you know, maybe, maybe not, maybe, if not, maybe, maybe, maybe not. It's not an emotional thing. Shout it. It's a legal declaration.
Say this, I'm just.
I'm just.
Justified.
Glory to God.
Are you still here tonight?
Yes, sir.
We are going somewhere. All of a sudden, you find your faith shooting on all cylinders. You will suddenly find out that if Christ can have it, I can have it. If he can beat it, I can be it. Are you hearing what I'm saying here? All of a sudden, faith becomes an unconscious reality. You're not trying to work it up. You are just walking in it. Do you get what I'm saying here? Dominion becomes an unconscious reality. You're not trying to dominate. You just dominate. Do you get what I'm saying here? Why? You have come to the awareness of who you are.
Justification is a verb. It's what he did. Righteousness is what we have become.
It's what we have become.
That's the word. What we have become. Sit down for a bit. A man went on an expedition. A very wealthy man from England went on an expedition, and you know how I've heard of folks like that who will take three months, six months out of the year, and they will get a boat and they just, you know, they've worked, and now they want to enjoy their money. So this guy shipped his, um, Rolls-Royce to meet him in one of the, um, I think it was a European country or something like that. And so he shipped it, and one of the days he was driving, and he found out that the Rolls-Royce had a problem. So he sent a message back to the company to say, "Guys, there's a problem." They flew an engineer over to him, and the man fixed the thing, and he enjoyed his holiday. The man returned back. So when he got back again, you know, the system is rigged, dependent on the level where you are, 'cause I know some of you are wondering, he didn't pay immediately. No, there are things you don't pay immediately for, 'cause your credit handles it. So he got back, and then he called and he said, "Hello, what's my bill?" And guess what Rolls-Royce said? "We have checked through our records and there is no record whatsoever that a Rolls-Royce ever had an issue."
"We have checked our records..."
"...and we have found out that a new creation never had an issue."
Oh, boy.
You didn't get what I said. Yes. The stamp of his approval is on us. That's the Holy Spirit.
Thank you, Jesus.
That's the Holy Spirit. You know why this is important? Because his car had an issue, but they said there's no issue. And the reason why the car can be fixed is because, as far as they are concerned, there can be no issue with it.
It is identity and nature that changes circumstance. Somebody hearing what I'm saying here?
Yes, sir.
Say this, I'm justified.
I'm justified.
Justification and righteousness are practically inseparable because they come from the same word. Acts chapter 13, very quickly, just to speak a bit more about that, and then we get back into our verse by verse. Declared not guilty. We're declared righteous. We're absolved of every guilt and every shame and every condemnation.
"There is therefore now no condemnation."
What does no condemnation mean?
Some in a little form.
Come and talk to me. What does no condemnation mean? No.
No condemnation.
So I'd like to ask you, whose report would you believe?
Say this, "There is therefore..."
"There is therefore..."
"...no condemnation."
"...no condemnation."
"...to your Ajani."
I thought... I thought I... there was something I said. You didn't say what I said. Glory to God.
Acts chapter 13 and verse 38. This is the crux of Christianity. It says, "Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins; and by him all that believe are justified from how many things?" All things, from which they could not be justified by the law of Moses. He says, "The things they could not be justified from by the law of Moses." He says, "Now, because they've believed in him, they are justified completely from it." Declared not guilty. Beautiful.
Go back to Galatians chapter 2. And then you see in verse 17, it says, "But if we seek, if while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also have found sinners. Is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law am dead to the law."
Did you ever read in Romans 7? And we'll study it reading down from verse 7. It says that the law, it said, "Sin took took occasion of the commandment and slew me." We'll study it in just a bit. It says, "I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God." Everybody, you'd love this. You'd love it. I know you'd love it. I thought you'd love it. Verse 20. I'd like you to make this confession of faith. Want to go?
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
Just a second.
All right. He says, "I am..." Just a second. "I am crucified with Christ."
"Nevertheless, I live."
It says, "Yet not I, but it's Christ that lives his life." One translation says, "Now he's taking up my body to live his life through me."
These are the facts of our redemption. I'm not talking about the reality of your circumstance. What I'm talking about is what? The facts of our redemption. Say, "The facts of my redemption."
Very important. Very important. Years ago, somebody walked up to me and he said, you know, um, um, he had had some immigration issues, and I don't want to go into all the details, and for some reason, he couldn't travel back to his country. It was his country. Now, the fact that he was stuck in Nigeria, and for some reasons, interesting reasons, he couldn't travel back. Did that mean he was a Nigerian? No. No. There are facts. The circumstance may look different. But the reason I have hope that the circumstance will change is that my eyes are set on the facts that are immutable.
Are you following what I'm saying?
Yes, sir.
The moment you lose sight of the facts, then you lose the war. These are the facts of our redemption.
They are true irrespective of your circumstance.
They are true irrespective of your situation. They are true irrespective of what you think of yourself. Shout with me, "The facts of my redemption."
The facts of my redemption.
Now, put it back again on the screen. It says, "I am crucified with Christ." Do you see that? "Nevertheless, I'm alive." He says, "Yet not I, but Christ liveth in me." Then he says, "The life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me." Media, can I have my picture? I'd like to show you something that will really help you in understanding the work of Jesus in our lives. Now, I'd like you to see. I mean, this is Jesus, the holy Jesus, righteous, sinless, spotless Son of God. You got the sinner there, the sinful man, completely ostracized, as it were, because of his sins. In justification, what he did was that the Holy Spirit placed us in Christ.
Let's stop there for a bit. So when you study through the scriptures, you see statements like "in Christ." Over a hundred of them. Brother Hagen and E.W. Kenyon popularized it. And they'll tell you, and that's beautiful. That's where you start your Christian journey from if you want to be a strong believer. All right? That, go find all those scriptures that talks about you being in Christ because you've got to know where you are. You've got to know what he has done for you. Is somebody still with me today?
So it says, "I can do..." And you see "in Christ," "through Christ," and a few of those kind of things. The Bible says, "If any man, um, be in Christ," that's the core one of all the "in Christ" scriptures. "If any man be in Christ, he is what? A new creature." Not what he thinks of himself. The Bible says he is what? A new creature. One who never existed before. He says he's a new creature without a past that you can hold.
He's a... Are you getting what I'm saying here?
You can take all of those scriptures one after the other. Over a hundred of them. And that is the work of God to place you. That's why the Bible says that we were baptized into Christ. You ever read that before? We were baptized into Christ. Which means that when God views us, he views you through the lens of what you're baptized into.
Okay. 2 Corinthians. Keep this on the screen. 2 Corinthians. You're getting anything today?
Yes, sir.
Chapter 5. 2 Corinthians chapter 5. I'd like us to see verse, uh, where do we take it now? Verse 14. 2 Corinthians 5:14. "For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and did what? Rose again." Now, let's read the next verse. You'd love it. All right, everybody read one to go.
"Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more."
Hold on. "Wherefore, henceforth," from this moment, "our judgment of people is not after the flesh."
Let me put it this way. Sometimes the first person you shouldn't know after the flesh is yourself.
Too many of you know yourself after the flesh. You don't know yourself after the spirit. You are so acquainted with yourself after the flesh. He says, "Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh." He says, "Yet though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more." And because we are in Christ, we cannot know the man in Christ after the flesh. It would be wrong to do that. Now, if we are not permitted to know any man in Christ after the flesh, then God will be the first not to know us after the flesh.
Are you still here?
Which means when God looks at you, what does he see? This is what he sees.
You are aware in Christ. That is your position. That is your nature. That is who you are. Unchangeable.
But you see, the Bible does not stop at being in Christ. The Bible adds another terminology, and it says that Christ in us.
In fact, Paul explains it this way in Colossians the first chapter, reading down from the 25th verse. You can study it for yourself. He tells us that this is the mystery that has been hid from the ages. He says, "The conclusion of the matter is that Christ in us, the hope of glory." Which means it starts off as "we in Christ," but that's not where he wants it to end. There's another work of the Spirit. He says, "Christ in us." Now, so you look at that, "we are in Christ." Then he says, "Christ takes up residence on the inside of us." You know why? You know why? If you are, if you stop just here and you said, "I'm in Christ," you can say, "Well, I, this entire thing, I'm just an impostor. It's not me and all the rest." But Jesus is saying, "Whatever it is that you're enjoying, because you are in me, I will work it out from within you."
Do you understand what I'm saying here?
Oh, you didn't get, you didn't get what I said. I mean, so it's not just, "I'm in Christ," and you know, "Because I'm in Christ, everything is nice. I'm righteous." You know why you're righteous? Because you're in Christ. That's why you're righteous. That's why you're righteous. It's not because of you. The clothes you wear, you wore is submerged inside the clothes you wore. We can't see your clothes anymore. Do you understand what I'm saying here? If you are black, we don't know. If you're white, we don't know. If you're red, we don't know. If you're wrinkled, we don't know. If you're spotted, we don't know. You know why? The one who covers you is white. He's spotless. He's blameless. Do you get what I'm saying here? But he doesn't stop there. He says the same power at work in the one that covers you is now at work on the inside of you. No wonder he says, "He works in us both to will and to do."
Hear me and hear me well. The life we have received is a cause. C-A-U-S-E. Which means when you study it, and I would to God that we understood this. When you study it, it is not just about God is saying, "You don't do this, don't do this, then if you do this, then you do this." Mmm. "I will write my laws in your hearts. I will put my Spirit deep within you, and I will cause you." Not "I will command you." "I will cause you." Which means what he commanded them to do, he causes us to do. Hallelujah.
No wonder our appetites are changing.
All of a sudden, you just can't do it. You just, you just don't like it anymore. Why? "I will cause you." He says, "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, I will put my laws in their heart, in their mind, and write them in their heart. I'll be to them a God, and they shall be to me..." (Ezekiel scripture). Ezekiel says, he says, "I will cause you to walk in my ways." Cause you to walk in my ways. Are you still here?
Yes, sir.
Is anybody learning anything?
Yes, sir.
Say this, I'm justified.
I'm justified.
Now, that that other part is what we talk about sanctification, the work of the Spirit. Now, because when he says "Christ in me," he's not saying that Jesus has left where he is. You know, because that's what we think. No, it's the Holy Spirit...
...that makes real this Jesus on the inside of us.
Are you following what I'm saying here?
And that everything that he purchased and became, everything the Holy Spirit now has the assignment to outwork it from within us.
Are you following what I'm saying here? All right. That's the scripture there. You'd love it. Write it down and let's read together. And I will put my... Well, give me verse 26. Give me verse 26. I like verse 26 because some people have stony hearts. Now, some of you will love this scripture because I know my heart was stony. He says, "A new a new heart also will I give you."
There will be new possessions.

I hope you love the word of God just like I love it. Paul had learned the secret of victorious Christian living. It is not you trying to live for him.
It is him living his life through you. Paul has learned. He, he had found out that the journey of Christianity and of faith starts with you submitting yourself to what he has done. Are you following what I'm saying here? And receiving it as the basis of every other action that you're going to take. The failure to understand this is the root of all legalism and the performance mentality. Say this, "Christ in me."

"The hope of glory."
The hope of glory.
Say this, "I am crucified with Christ."
I am crucified.
"Nevertheless, I live."
Nevertheless, I live.
"Yet not I."
Yet not I.
"But Christ lives in me."
But Christ lives in me.
How many of you believe what you just said?
Yet not I, but Christ lives in me. The life that I now live in the flesh is animated, made alive, comes alive because of Christ that is at work in me.
Are you listening to what I'm saying here?
Now, if you keep this before you, if you would maintain your gaze on this and keep it on your lips, it's a matter, just a matter of time, your life will catch up with it.
Just that's the law.
That's the law. You know what I find out many of times is that we, we hear this, and then it's so nice, and then we go away. The Bible says that the doer of the work is the one who sees who he is in the mirror and forgetth not what manner of man he is. That's the real doer. Which means you've seen who you are in the word. And when life throws you curveballs or whatever happens, you remind yourself what the word said concerning you. Are you listening to what I'm saying here?
Say this, "I believe the word of God."

The Christian life is not just a hard life to live. It's impossible.
It takes the Spirit to live it. I don't know if you heard what I said.
It's not, it's not a hard life. It's impossible for you. Just impossible. We see that from the Old Testament. Impossible. Impossible. How many of you have found yourself lashing at someone in traffic and you, you shocked yourself? You, you, me, me. And you know, usually when, maybe there's somebody that respect or something around you, that's when you now double down because you can't be looking weak. You said, "No, the reason why..." Did they ask you why? The reason, oh yeah, "Shalai," when you have to "shalai," then there's a problem. Do you understand what I'm saying? I mean, you, you shock yourself. And you're wondering, "How did, why did I say that?"
You were having a good day, you were whistling like a bird, enjoying yourself, and then the usher just said something you didn't like, and you found yourself bringing out something that looked like your mother.
You know what I'm saying? You, you acted in a way. Say, "Kai, mommy, mommy, mommy." You just remembered your mother. You used her tongue. You used her abuse. You used her look. You used her stance. And you were shocked. You know why? The life that is asked us to live cannot be lived by us.
It is not just hard. It is impossible to live it. And so he puts his Spirit within us...
...as a work of grace to cause us.
Do you understand what I'm saying here?
To think that we can live it in our flesh and by our strength is then to revert back to dependence on laws and human ability. That's what Paul said to us in Philippians the third chapter. He says that we have no confidence in the flesh. We are the circumcision who worship God in Christ Jesus. Are you hearing what I'm saying here? No confidence in the flesh.
I found out that the more confidence you have in the flesh, the more you shock yourself.
The more you shock yourself.
And the more confidence you have in the flesh, when you shock yourself, the more guilt and condemnation destroys you.
And you find it almost impossible to rise out of that place because you, you put a standard for yourself that you couldn't meet. Are we still here today?
Yes, sir.
The only way to walk in this victory is to allow Christ live his life through us. And the way the Bible shows us, because I may not have the time to get into that tonight, and it's important to always add that bit so that people don't just run off and I heard this. Jesus said in John the third chapter, he said, "Exactly what happened with Moses and the serpent and the Israelites in the wilderness, that's the way of redemption." It says, "The way Moses lifted up the serpent, he said, is the same way the Son of Man will be lifted up." He says, "And he that looketh on him shall what? Live." Which means the way this thing works is we keep our gaze on him and what he has done. That is the work. They asked him, "What work should we do?" He said, "Believe in him that he sent." Tell your neighbor, that is the work.
James trying to tell you what the work is as well. He says that the hearer of the word, he says, goes away and forgetth what manner of man he was. But the doer of the work. He didn't say word. Now, the doer of the work, you can study it in James the first chapter. He says, "The hearer of the word." But the doer of the work is the one who seeth himself in the mirror and does not forget. So what is the work? Keep the image before you.
The work is not, "God, I promise you I will never, never, never, never." That's not the work.
That's you trusting in your willpower.
Do you understand what I'm saying here? It says, "But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, unfailing, unchanging, immutable love, liberty, walks every time we walk in Ghana the same way we walk in Nigeria. Same way we walk in Afghanistan." We are talking about... I don't know how many of you... I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, in in the days when Lagos was Lagos, not as commercialized as it is now, or Banana as it is now. You had all these yellow big buses called "Mwes." I know some got a problem with the choir, man. How come? How come the choir guys are... Well, whatever. It's okay. It's okay. Lord help you all in Jesus name. And once you get into the buses, the yellow buses or whatever it is, usually somebody will jump up first, 'cause there were usually two or three of them in those buses. And the guy will lift up this thing, shake it around, and he will say, and they were so phenomenal at marketing, amazing marketers. They'll tell you, "Just one drop for malaria, two drops tapilo cucus cucus, three drops typhoid, four drops, your body go strong. If you don't know what's doing you, pour the entire sachet." And people, I'm not kidding you. People will buy. Everybody buying. Everybody buying. Everybody buying. Guess what? Guess what? The one-purpose drug is called Cross. The cross of Jesus Christ.
There is no need that ails man that the cross does not have an answer. There's not one. Oh, I got a mental problem. Look at the cross.
I got a pain in my body. Look at the cross.
I got a habit. Look at the cross.
I got an addiction. Look at the cross.
There's not one. You won't find the answer in the cross. Not one. This is the work. Believe in him whom he sent. Not your ability.
That is the work. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
No wonder Jesus said, "Only believe."
He summarized the entire assignment. We have only believe. That's it. Only believe. Only believe. Only believe. Only believe. Are you following what I'm saying here? Only believe. Only believe. Oh, hallelujah.
Thank you, Lord. Well, look at what it says. Let's read it again. It's a good confession. Verse 20. "I am crucified with Christ."
"Nevertheless, I live."
"Yet not I,"
"but Christ liveth in me,"
"and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me." Can you shout amen? Then he says, "I do not frustrate." The Greek word being aio, which means to set aside, to disregard. "I do not frustrate, set aside, disregard the grace of God. For if righteousness came by the law, then Christ is dead in vain."
Do you see Paul trying to use many words just to stress the same thing?
Many words to stress the same thing. Chapter 3, verse 1. I don't know why you all are shouting, but it's okay.
Oh, we finished chapter two. I'm holding my surprise as well. Glory. You know, actually, I was going to get here last week, but I told myself, I said, "No, a million times. No, we're going to leave. We're not going to leave you till 10 p.m." So, I said, "We'll leave it." So, chapter 3. Now, now let's get the service started. All right. It says, "Now, you, you just may not like what we're about to read." Oh, foolish. Oh, foolish.
Apostle Paul. Well, I think this is a good confession to your neighbor. All right. Oh, I made a mistake. I made a mistake. Okay, go to chapter 2, verse 20. Let's make confessions of the word of God. Chapter 2, verse 20. Please give me chapter 2, verse 20. Let's just confess God's word and we just keep reading and confessing the word.
All right. Can we read together? "Nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me."
Verse 21 is an advice. So please turn to your neighbor and give them this advice. Tell them, come on, tell your neighbor, "Do not frustrate the grace of God. For if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain." I think we should just continue to the next verse. Since you're already reading to your neighbor, read to your neighbor. It's okay. Thank you. You don't know if that's the person that's going to give you a job. "Oh, foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you." In essence, there's the tendency to always fall back to our own human ability.

And I said that I have found, interestingly, in my experience, that the meetings that I came in like a bazooka. You know, those meetings where you, >> you are quiet but inside man, guns blazing everywhere. You know, that kind of stuff. You're coming. You're looking at the devil. Ah, I just, and I'm done. Then I just walk out like that. Glory to God. I found out I have fewer results. I'm telling you the truth. But the ones where I say, "Oh, God help me." The most anointed meetings are my most unprepared meetings. I tell you the truth. It's amazing. I'm shocked. I'm shocked. The times pastor has had me say this several times like, "Man, God has me." I'm remembering some meetings and, you know, I'm looking at the back end and what you saw and, um, you're like, "My God, pastor is so anointed." You didn't know. They don't know. You didn't know that it, I'm like, "Oh my God." In fact, sometimes I'm like, "Lord, if you don't help me, I'm done. I'm dead." I'm telling the truth now.
Does it mean that God does not want me to fast and pray? No. A million times no, sir. >> A million times no. I found out, however, that when I fast and pray, I have a bit more confidence in my fasting and my prayer. >> Uh-uh. After I have soaked >> powers, >> I just want to release. Did you ever say that it's an amazing thing? Let me show you from scriptures. It's an interesting conundrum. The Bible says Peter looks at the man at the gate and then he says to them, he says to the man, he says, "Such as I have give I thee." Then when they came to query him about the miracle, do you hear what Peter said? He said, "Why are you looking at us? As though by our own power and our own holiness, we have made this man whole. No, it is Jesus whom you killed and crucified and faith in his name that has made this man whole and given him perfect soundness in the sight of you all." One time, Luke the 18th chapter, you can study it for yourself. We don't have the time. Two men went to pray. You remember the story. The Pharisee beat his chest. He said, "Oh, you know, I obey the law. I do this. I do that. I do that." And then the other man, a publican, I believe, said to Lord, he, he couldn't even look up. He said, "Oh, God, forgive me. I'm a sinner. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." And then Jesus said, "The man, the publican went back home justified rather than the other man who put his confidence in what he had done." >> Which means justification does not work with self-confidence. >> It doesn't work with it. >> Confidence in your flesh. Ah, if I hold the mic, man. The phone for two. Are you still here? Oh boy.
He says, "Oh, foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ had been evidently set forth, crucified?" Verse two, "This only would I learn of you. Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law?" How did you receive the Spirit? You heard something. You believed something and God granted you his greatest gift, the Holy Spirit. What makes you think that the requirement for any other thing that he would give you would be greater than that? Talk to me. What makes you think so? Look at what he says. "These only would I learn of you. Receive ye the Spirit." Someone says, "So pastor, why then do you fast?" Oh yes. Because there are many layers of unbelief, ideologies, and philosophies that I have to submit and subject myself to the presence of God for light to penetrate through. >> I'm not fasting because the God's side is affected. >> The God side is not touched. The God's side is not affected. The God's side is not moved. His works are finished from the foundations of the earth. But my receipt of it is at different levels at different times.
>> Many of you here are married. How many of you have heard your spouse, your partner say to you, "I love you." The same words he said in January and in March, they don't mean the same thing. >> Yes, sir. >> I hope the person is married. But, but she's just being sincere. The person said, "Now, some of you, by God's grace, your marriages have become richer and better, richer and better, richer and better. You would agree with me that when you said, you know, when you guys were in university, 'I love you.'" And you were doing all of that and you got married on the wedding day, you looked at yourself and then you, then you got to your hotel room or you go back home. "I love you." "Oh my God, I love you." Now, seven years after, "I love you." And guess what? Guess what? It does not mean you love her less. Neither does it mean she loves you less. Your love has gone through different seasons. Do you understand what I'm saying here? You would find, you'd find out that the, the love you had in January, same love is not the exact same way you feel about it in March. Same thing said to the same human being, received in different ways. Same husband. Why? Why? Because life changes perception. And many times we have to go back to the auto workshop where, in the presence of God, that's why he says, he says, he says, "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." He says, "As we behold in that presence, where the Holy Ghost is, as we behold, he says something is being forged there." Do you understand what I'm saying here?
>> So I find out that when I fast and when I pray, when I worship and I do all of these things, I am more receptive to the truths of God's word. All of a sudden, something that I had read before hits me as light. I'm like, "Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. This is what he meant. This is what he meant." I thought I knew it before, but all of a sudden, a layer has been opened. >> Are you getting what I'm saying here? The curtain has been opened. I see it in a new light. I step out with power, with authority, and dominion. Not because God did more, but I saw more. >> Do you understand what I'm saying here? Yes, sir.
>> It says, "This only would I learn of you. Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law? By the hearing of faith." Are you so foolish? Paul, Paul had bad mouth. >> And you know, this is not the only place he abused people. I hope you know Paul's mouth. When we get to heaven, I'll ask how Jesus coped with Paul. 'Cause I can imagine that the Holy Ghost will tell him to say something. He will not add his own. The Holy Spirit is too soft. They are foolish. Sounds like pastor would say something. Glory to God. >> Can I share something with you? >> Yes, sir. Years ago, I was praying and I was praying some of the prayers that we'd like to pray. "Oh God, more love. Oh God, more power. Oh God, power, power. Oh God, more power. Oh God, more power." First things first, if we're going to be very sincere with ourselves scripturally, there's nobody who prayed that way. There's nobody. Paul didn't ask God for more power to heal the sick. It's not in the scriptures. The closest you get is that "I may know him and the power of his resurrection, the fellowship of his suffering, being made conformable unto his, being made conformable unto what? His death." The fellowship of his sufferings that brought us our salvation. If you read it, he's still talking about his eyes were on the things that the Lord had done for him. >> Are you following what I'm saying? >> Yes, sir.
>> So, I was in that place of prayer and then the Lord corrected me. The Lord said to me, he said, "How about you start declaring who I have made you?" How about you start declaring it? So I remember, and I don't remember how many times, I can't tell how many times I made that statement. I would say that "I am an able minister of the New Testament." And I will declare, lift my hands, that I have the capacity, the ability to dispense the verities, the glories, and the power of the New Testament. When I open my mouth to speak, I'm an able minister. Now, you know what I'm doing there? I am declaring what the scripture has said concerning me in the kingdom of God. Please listen and never forget it. There is a law that many people flown. And Jesus taught us the law. He said, "He that hath not. The little that he has will be taken from him and given to the one that has. And he that hath, more shall be given to him." So what is the key to more in the kingdom? Can I explain what I just said here? >> If I want more of something in the kingdom, it starts with an acknowledgment of the fact that God has done it. >> I must have it in possession by my faith. And then on the basis of my lack, then I'm asking God, "You've got to do it for me." Uh-uh. The Bible says there has to be an acknowledgement of the fact that you have it. >> But it can be an increased measure in your life for faith to faith, glory to glory, >> strength to strength. Like I was teaching them in school of ministry. He didn't say unbelief to faith. >> He didn't say those who appear in Zion, they go from weakness to strength. He didn't say we are changed from shame to glory. >> Oh yeah. >> Which means if your conception is shame, then there's nothing for you. >> You've got to understand this. This is how the kingdom works. That's why people seem to have a little progress and then they break down. Then they have a little progress and then they break down. Shout it. He says, "But I believe that my house and my household shall be safe." And the spies had enough sense than many believers would have today. They said, "Ensure, just ensure that your entire family and household and everyone that you love is in the building. Everything may be falling around." Oh. Oh. It's a terrorist duplex. It's all connected together. When one goes down, another has to go down. Not when the scarlet line is there. Do you understand what I'm saying here? That my faith is not defined by the faith of the world around me. My faith is defined by the blood shed in my behalf.
>> Isn't it unfortunate that we believe that God can save a harlot, but we find it difficult to believe that God can forgive a righteous man? That we write people away. We write them off and we live and act as though Christ didn't die for these ones. In that while we were yet sinners, if He loved us that much as sinners, did His love stop now that we are saved? Did it stop? This is the secret to victory. Goodness. It is the secret to healing. It is the secret. Are you hearing what I'm saying here? It is a secret to anything, any good thing that you may think of. For if He did not withhold His Son, but delivered Him up, >> He didn't say He gave Him, delivered Him, literally bundled Him. How shall He not with Him? Freely give us how many things? All things. >> Guess what? Guess what? Odims, come. Goodness, come. Shalah, come. All of you. Come. Come. Come. This is healing. Go this way. This is prosperity. Go this way. This is blessings. Go this way. This is the anointing. Go this way. You know what He says to us in that verse? Don't look for healing. Don't look for prosperity. Don't look for blessings. Don't look for the anointing. There is something they follow. Oh yeah. He says, "He gave us, delivered up, spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for how many of us?" The bishop alone? The Pope alone? The Archbishop? The righteous? The seeming righteous?
