[Music] [Music] Look, there is a rule in the world, the principle of cause and effect. Yes, what did you say? The person who understands this principle of cause and effect will not get trapped in such superstitions and hypocrisies. So, understand that principle. Cause is that without which an effect cannot happen. Say, without which an effect cannot happen, and with its presence, it happens, that is called a cause. For example, if there is fire, bread will cook. If there is no fire, bread will not cook. So, fire is the cause of cooking bread. Did you understand this example? Yes. If there is fire in the stove, then bread can cook, and if the gas runs out, the fire is gone, it cannot burn, then the bread will not cook. So, that which causes something to happen and not happen is called a cause. [Clears throat sound] If there are bricks, stones, lime, cement, a house will be built. If there are no bricks, stones, lime, cement, it will not be built. So, bricks, stones, lime, and cement will be considered the cause of building a house. Is this correct? So, all the truth in the world rests on this principle of cause and effect. Whenever it rains, it will rain from the clouds. Can it rain without clouds? No. If it rains even without clouds, then clouds will not be considered the cause of rain. If bread cooks without fire, then fire will not be considered the cause. Therefore, the identification of a cause is that without it, the effect will not happen. If there is fire, bread will cook; if there is no fire, it will not cook. Therefore, fire is the cause. Now, there was a person making bread in the forest. There was fire, there was a griddle, and bread was cooking. A donkey was standing nearby. Hey, come on, come on, come on, the person who was cooking food in the forest. Om, the person who was cooking food in the forest, there was fire, there was a griddle, and he was making bread on it. A donkey was also standing nearby. So, a child came from outside. He saw that bread was being made here, and a donkey was also standing. Okay? Then he went to another place. There he saw that bread was being made. There was fire, but no donkey was standing. Here, bread was being made without a donkey. So, in one place, when bread was being made, he saw the donkey along with it. In another place, when bread was being made, the donkey was not there. So, should the donkey be considered the cause of bread or not? We will not consider it. The work is happening without it. So, if the work happens without something, it means it is not the cause. Now, the incident you narrated about Mount Abu, where a gentleman, a Seth ji, went to a temple, the path was broken, and there he made a vow that if I get a child. He prayed to God like this, "O God, let me have a child," and he did. So, all the people who are seeking children, suppose 100 people go there, will everyone get a child by praying at that temple? No, it may not happen. So, if it doesn't happen, then it is not the cause. If bread cooks even without fire, then fire is not the cause, right? Bread cooks with fire, and it also cooks without it. Like the example of the donkey I gave. The donkey was standing, and bread was cooking. The donkey was not there, and bread was cooking. So, it means the donkey is not the cause of cooking bread. So, even by going to the temple, children are being born, and even by not going, they are being born. Are all those whose children are being born going to that temple? So, it is happening even without going there, isn't it? So, what does this mean? That children are not born by going to the temple and praying. It is not its cause. The reason the Seth ji got a child is something else. Just as the donkey is not the cause of cooking bread, its cause is fire. Fire will be found everywhere. Wherever bread is made, bread will not cook without fire. This is the rule. So, from this, it is understood that fire is the cause of cooking bread. This is called the cause-and-effect principle. So, wherever you go in the world, look at any incident, check the cause-and-effect principle. Tying a thread around trees and circumambulating them leads to getting a job, having children, winning a lawsuit. Is there any cause-and-effect principle, any connection to winning a lawsuit? Yes or no. Therefore, it is a lie, hypocrisy, superstition. So, circumambulating trees, circumambulating graves or shrines, offering sheets at shrines will not get you a job. There is no connection with it. Therefore, all that is false. It is an illusion. Okay? Yes. It is something else. Find that cause. That which is related to that incident is the cause. A person was walking in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. Okay? And in Delhi, a crow sat on a tree, and at the same time the crow sat at 12:00 PM, at the same time the person on the Ghatkopar road fell and died while walking. He had a heart attack and died. So, someone said that this crow sitting on the tree in Delhi is the reason he died. Is that logical for the person in Mumbai? A crow sits on a tree in Delhi, and a man dies walking on the road in Mumbai. What is the connection between these two incidents? So, where there is no connection between two incidents, the principle of cause and effect does not apply. So, there are 50 such illusions. Someone is going to Tirupati Balaji. They get their hair cut and come back. Their wish is fulfilled. How many people go there? They go, don't they? They get their hair cut and come back, and they do business worth crores of rupees from it. The devotees who donate their hair there, the temple people export it and earn crores of rupees. So, there are many such illusions. Somewhere, going to a temple, some deity does not listen to you. It is a deity of mud, a lifeless deity. It does not understand you. What will it fulfill? A priest at the Tirupati Balaji temple told me this. I am telling you the truth. I myself went there to see. To see the darshan, meaning to visit. I went to see. To observe what happens in the temple. Why is there so much crowd? Why is there such a long line? It is superstition and hypocrisy. So, I asked the priest there. I said, "Pandit ji, there is a very long line here. A lot of crowd comes. A lot of donation is received. So, does your deity Balaji fulfill their wishes?" He said, "No." So, I said, "Then why does so much crowd come?" So, the Pandit ji said, "The public is foolish. We are taking advantage of their foolishness." He said this: "The public is foolish. We are taking advantage of their foolishness. Our Balaji is a deity of mud. It doesn't even listen or understand. What will it fulfill?" So, I said, "Then how are wishes being fulfilled? Many people's wishes are fulfilled." He said, "Yes, they are." So, how? So, the priest there explained. That day he was in a good mood. He told everything openly. He told me. I said, "Then how are people's wishes fulfilled?" He said, "There is a rule in mathematics, the law of probability." Right? Yes. The law of probability. The law of possibility. So, he said, "Have you studied math?" I said, "Yes, a little." So, there is a rule in math, the law of probability. I said, "Yes, there is. I know that." He said, "What does it mean?" I said, "It means that if 100 students appear for an exam, 50 will pass anyway. Right, Lalchand ji? 50 will pass anyway. This is the probability of 50. Some do study, don't they? Not all are foolish. Not all are illiterate. Not all are lazy. Some do study. So, if 100 people take the exam, 50 will pass." So, suppose some astrologer tells them, "Your future is very good. You will pass." He will tell all 100 people. So, will all 100 fail? I said, "No, all 100 will not fail. 50-60 will pass anyway." So, he said, "Did those 50-60 who passed pass because the astrologer said so, or because they worked hard in their studies?" Tell me. Those who worked hard passed. Those who didn't, failed. So, 50-60 will pass anyway. This is the law of probability. So, he said, "Suppose 100 people come to our temple. Everyone leaves their wishes here, makes a vow. Someone's son is about to take an exam. Someone's lawsuit is ongoing. Someone is not getting a job. Someone is not getting married. Everyone leaves their wishes." So, will they do some work after going home or not? For the success of their task. I said, "Yes, they will." So, will all 100 fail? I said, "No, all 100 will not fail. 50-60 will pass anyway." So, their work will be accomplished. So, he said, "How will that happen?" I said, "Through their hard work." He said, "Yes, you understood correctly." So, those 100 people who go home after making a vow here, work, put in effort, 50-60 out of 100 will get their work done. It will happen due to their hard work, and credit will go to our deity of mud. This is the foolishness of the public. He said this. The success of the work happened due to what? Hard work. Due to the hard work of those people. And who got the credit? This deity of mud. He said, "This is the foolishness of the public. We are taking advantage of it. People think that their work was accomplished by the blessings of our deity of mud. Whereas it happened due to their hard work." So, suppose out of 100 people, 50-60 got their work done who went there after making a vow. So, those 50 have become our sure customers, haven't they? They will come next time and offer a lot of donation. I said, "They will definitely come then." He said, "The matter doesn't end here, it goes further." I said, "What further?" He said, "So, those 50 people, each person will spread the word to 10 people, saying that Balaji deity is very good, gives great blessings. The blessings there are successful. See, our work got done. You also come." Each person will spread the word to 10 people, so our publicity has increased to 500. Then they will forcibly bring two or three people along. They will forcibly bring their close friends, their acquaintances, by pressuring them. They will say, "Look, just come with us once. We will also pay for your fare and travel. Just come with us once." So, each person will forcibly bring three people along. Those 50 who failed, they failed. It's okay, no worries about them. Those 50 who passed, whose work was accomplished, each of them will bring three people along. So, 50 of them and three each, that's 150, and one person will bring three people, so 50 people will bring how many? 150 more. 50 and 150, how many? Last year how many came? 100. This year how many came? 200. This is how our numbers double, and we get donations, and the number keeps increasing. This is the foolishness of the public. We are taking advantage of it. The story of Tirupati Balaji is the same for all temples worldwide. Whether it is on Mount Abu, or the Hanuman temple at Connaught Place in Delhi, or any other, whether it is in Mumbai, Kalbadevi temple, any temple. The story is the same for all temples. Law of probability, the law of possibility. You must have understood my point. So, for this reason, people's wishes are fulfilled. It happens due to their own hard work. Nothing happens due to the blessings of those deities. A sentence from Maharshi Dayanand ji comes to mind. He wrote somewhere in Satyarth Prakash, something like this: He said, "Go to such and such a temple. By the blessings of that deity, you will have a child." So, Maharshi Dayanand ji said, "Oh, by the blessings of that deity, children are born. So, by the blessings of which deity are the offspring of cats, donkeys, and dogs born?" They don't go to any temple. They are praying for children there. [Laughter] By the blessings of which deity are the offspring of cats, donkeys, and dogs born? They are born without it. So, it means it is not the cause. That without which it does not happen is the cause, and that without which the work happens, and it also happens with its presence and without its presence, then it is not the cause. So, just remember this rule, the cause-and-effect principle, and you will not fall into any illusion. You will not fall into superstition. You will not fall into hypocrisy. Everything will become clear to you. So, these are all hypocritical programs. Offer a sheet at a shrine, circumambulate a shrine, tie a thread around a tree. These are all hypocrites. Let's look at the next sutra. So, this was our 15th. Now look at the 16th sutra. Say, "Na cha ek chitta tantram vastu tad apramanakam tatha kim syat." Another peculiar purvapakshi, that purvapakshi, that is the purvapakshi's statement in the introduction. The purvapakshi's thought is that the object that is visible in front of you, the chair visible in front of you, the utensils. This object that you see, it has no existence of its own. Then why is it visible? When it has no existence, then the purvapakshi says that you have thought that there is a chair in front. Therefore, you see a chair. You thought of utensils, so you see utensils. You thought of a clock, so you see a clock. The object will appear as you think. The object has no existence of its own. Only by your thought, all these things appear to you. This is his principle. So, its answer is given in this sutra in the siddhanta paksha (established view) in response to the purvapakshi. "Na cha ek chitta tantram vastu." Purvapakshi ji, you are saying that it is only because we have thought in our minds that there is a clock in front, so we see a clock. If there is a fan, we see a fan. The object is created by our thought. It has no existence of its own. So, if this is correct, if this is true, that the object appears only by our thought, and in reality, it has no existence of its own. If this is the case, then suppose I look at the chair for 10 seconds. I will look and think, and the chair will appear. And suppose I take my gaze away from there and start looking at the wall. So, the object was there by my thought, right? Now I have removed the thought from there, so now tell me, will the chair remain there or not? It will remain. So, then my thought makes no difference. Therefore, your statement is false. If the object is imagined by my thought, then the object should exist as long as I think about it. When I let go of that thought and take my gaze away from there, then that object should disappear. If it was created by my thought, then this is not happening. [Clears throat sound] I look at it, I think, and the chair is there. And I don't look at it. No one thinks about it, and it is still there. What does this prove? Is it an imagination of my thought, or does the chair have its own real existence? So, this is the answer. This is being said in the sutra: "Na cha ek chitta tantram vastu." Whatever object you see, be it a table, chair, scooter, utensil, book, whatever, it is not dependent on a single mind. Chitta tantram means not dependent on the mind. That is, not dependent on our thought. If we think, it appears, and if we don't think, it doesn't appear. Not like that. "Tad apramanakam." If I do not see that thing with my eyes, "tada kim syat." Then what will happen? Will the object remain or not? This objection is raised by the siddhanta. If I do not see that thing, will the object remain or not? If it remains, then it means that the object was not created by my thought. It stands by its own existence. It has its own independent existence. And suppose there are two people. Me and Lalchand ji. I see that chair. Lalchand ji also sees it. Both see it. So, I looked for 10 seconds. Then I took my gaze away from there. But Lalchand ji is still looking. He is looking for 1 minute. I looked for 10 seconds. When I looked for 10 seconds and took my gaze away from there, now tell me, what will happen to the chair? Will the chair remain or not? If it remains, then it stands by its own existence, not by my thought. Because your rule was, if I look, it will exist. Now I am not looking, so it should not exist. However, Lalchand ji is looking, so it is there. So, it makes no difference whether I look or not. The object is, it is. So, this is the Vedic principle. The object will remain as it is in its own nature. Whether you see it, don't see it, believe it or not, that's your headache. That's your problem. The object will remain as it is. Now, according to this rule, God will remain as He is. You keep thinking whatever you want in your mind. He will not change by your thinking. Is God inert or conscious? Now, if someone considers an inert object as God, will it become God? It will not. And if God is conscious, and someone considers Him inert, then He will not be inert. So, this is the principle that it makes no difference whether we believe or not. The object is as it is. So, wisdom lies in accepting the object exactly as it is. This is understanding. Because if you understand it correctly, know it correctly, then you can benefit from it properly and avoid the harm caused by it. If you understand the object correctly, then by understanding its qualities and actions correctly, you can also benefit from it and avoid the harm caused by it. For example, suppose fire. For example, fire. Is fire hot or cold? It is hot. If you understand fire correctly, that fire is hot. Keep your hand away from it. Otherwise, you will get burned. If you know correctly, then you will keep your hand away from the fire. Your hand will remain safe. And if you understand that it is cold, as cold as water, then you will put your hand in it, and your hand will get burned. Will you suffer loss or not? Therefore, wisdom lies in knowing things as they are. Know God as He is. Then you will be well. You will do the right thing. You will get the right benefit. If God is something, and you understand something else, believe something else, then you will act accordingly, and you will suffer loss. For example, if you did not understand fire correctly, you suffered loss from it. Fire is hot; if you did not accept it as hot, you suffered loss. You burned your hand. Similarly, will God forgive our sins? Yes? And how many people believe that God will forgive our sins? Do they believe it or not? They believe incorrectly, don't they? Now, all of them will suffer loss from this. What do they believe? God will surely forgive our sins. So, why not commit them? Therefore, they commit sins day and night without hesitation. Because this illusion is in their minds: God will surely forgive. So, why not commit them? Therefore, they are committing sins. Whereas God will not forgive. Now they will suffer the punishment. So, therefore, the Vedic principle is: Know things as they are, believe them as they are, write them as they are, speak them as they are, act as they are. This is truth. Well-being comes from truth, not from falsehood. Say. We are fine. We are fine. What is Pran Pratishtha (consecration)? How does it work? So, those who perform Pran Pratishtha in idols, they pretend that today we have performed Pran Pratishtha in this, now it has become a deity, God, now you can worship it, you will get blessings, your well-being will be achieved. Like that, they...

It is said that this statement is false. No person has the power to consecrate life into an inanimate idol. No one does. How will we understand this? Listen to an example. The person who claims that I can consecrate life into an inanimate idol and then make it conscious. Whoever says this, suppose his mother, who is 20-30 years older than him, died at the age of 80. His mother died at the age of 80. So we will ask him, "Now consecrate life back into your mother's body." Will he be able to do it? Why? Where has your power gone now? You can consecrate life into an idol that has not had life for even a single day, but you cannot do it for your mother's body, in which life breathed for 80 years. So how will you do it for an idol, in which life has not breathed for even a single day? So, did you understand my point? Therefore, all this is hypocrisy, falsehood, deceit, and business. One should avoid it. Okay, I am saying the same thing again. These people will not mend their ways. Talk about yourself. Do you want to mend your ways or not? Just understand for yourself that yes, this is hypocrisy. I don't want to get caught in this. If you go to correct them, they will not mend their ways. Instead, they will quarrel with you. So, do not quarrel. Just protect yourself. And tell your two or four people, friends, acquaintances, "Brother, this is how it is." If they understand, they will also be saved. If not, so be it. Do not quarrel. Do not force. We do this at home, right? So explain to them. If they don't understand, leave it. Do not quarrel. Do not quarrel. Whether it is at home, in the neighborhood, with friends, acquaintances, whoever it may be. Do not quarrel. If someone understands, explain. Now, these businessmen are sitting here. They sell their goods. Customers come to the shop. So they show their goods. "Look, sir, this is the variety. This is the cloth, this cloth, this cloth, this cloth." They show 20 types, 10 types of variety. If the customer likes it, they will buy it. Yes or no? And if they don't like it, will the businessman forcefully say, "Come, buy"? "It's compulsory, I will force it on you." If you don't buy the goods, I will force it on you. Is business done like this? Tell me. Is it done like this? No, brother. We showed our goods, you liked them, so take them. If not, then it's okay. Our goods are with us, you go to your home, we go to our home. It's like this, right? So tell your other friends that "Brother, we believe this, we understand this, this is correct. It is proven by logic and evidence. If you understand, take our goods. And if not, there is no compulsion. We will not force. We will not force. If you don't understand, leave it. Do not quarrel. Okay." Moving on. So this was the matter. "Tad uparaga apekshit chitthasya vastu jnaat ajnaatam." The object is not subject to the thought of a divided sect or a single tantra. The object has its own existence. It stands by its own existence. Whether anyone sees it or not, the object will remain. If one considers the object as it is, then it is fine. If you consider it otherwise, then it is your loss. Nothing happens to the object. God is conscious. He sees everyone. He is watching and will judge everyone. This is the truth. If you want to understand this and benefit from it, then do so. If you don't understand, then it's fine. Keep doing things the wrong way. Then you will have to face punishment later. God will not spare anyone. He will not forgive anyone. So the object will remain as it is. Our thoughts will make no difference. Okay, sir. So God, soul, and nature are the three main objects, the three main substances. So, if you understand these three objects as they are, then you will benefit. Now let's look at the next sutra. So, the existence of the object is proven. Radio, TV, computer, mobile phone, scooter, car, food, drink, every object is in its own form. It is as it is. Now, the relationship of the soul with these objects is through consciousness. Because the soul, poor thing, is of limited power. It cannot see objects directly. It cannot eat, cannot drink, cannot do anything directly. It needs the body, mind, senses, and intellect. So, what the scriptures have told is that the method of deriving benefit from worldly substances is this: the soul orders the mind that "I want to eat food." Now, the mind first orders the eyes to eat. "Look at what is in the plate? What is the food?" First, look. Then the mind orders the eyes. Then the eyes see what food is in the plate. After knowing, the information from the eyes came to the mind, from the mind to the soul. Then it saw, "Oh, these are the things. They are suitable for me, suitable." Then it ordered the hand, "Pick it up, put it in your mouth." Its order, whatever it is, runs through the mind. Through the mind, first through the mind, see the objects with the eyes. Then through the mind, order the hand, "Pick it up, brother. Pick up the roti, this is the dal, this is the vegetable, this is the sweet." Pick it up and put it in your mouth. Then the mind orders the hand, the hand picks up the object, and then puts it in the mouth. This is how the program runs. So, this is what is being told in this sutra. This is how this program runs. Eating, drinking, giving, taking, transactions, whatever. Sutra 17, please. "Tad uparaga apekshit." When the soul relates to external objects, it is through consciousness. As explained earlier, the soul orders consciousness. Consciousness then orders the senses. Then the senses work. So, it cannot happen without consciousness. Consciousness is a mediator in between. A medium is in between. Here is the soul, here are the senses, in between is consciousness. Consciousness or mind is the same thing. Yes. Look again. Here is the soul, in the middle is the mind, then the senses, then the senses will do whatever they have to do. Hands, eyes, nose, ears, all senses work later. Here is the soul, in the middle is the mind. Then further, the senses and the mind, its definition is written in Nyaya Darshan. The mind can do only one thing at a time. Not two, three, four together. The senses work with the cooperation of the mind. The eyes see, the ears hear, the tongue speaks, the hand picks up objects, does transactions. All these tasks are done by the senses. But they are not done without the cooperation of the mind. And the mind does only one thing at a time. Therefore, it will prompt one sense at a time. But its speed is very fast. The speed of the mind is very fast. It quickly makes different senses work. It works so fast that we don't even realize. You work so quickly. Sometimes there is an illusion. We feel that many tasks are happening simultaneously. For example, you must have seen dance on TV. Some dancers dance. Their hands move. This hand moves, the waist moves, the neck moves, the head moves, the feet move. You also hear the song. You also hear the beat of the tabla. All tasks are happening simultaneously. It seems so. But they are not happening simultaneously. They are happening one by one. The mind does one task at a time. Its speed is so fast that we don't know when which task was done. Which task was done first, which was done later. It works very fast. So now they are saying, "Jnaat ajnaatam." The object with which consciousness is related will be known. And the object with which consciousness is not related will become unknown. Did you understand this much? Because there are many senses. Eyes, nose, ears, five senses. Five jnanendriyas (sense organs of perception). Five karmendriyas (sense organs of action). And the mind connects with them one by one. So, with whom it connects, that will be known. From whom the connection is cut, that will not be known. It will become unknown. There is one more thing to understand here. That is, because consciousness is an inanimate object. It is made of sattva, rajas, and tamas. Therefore, changes keep happening in it. For example, let's give a simple example. If you receive good news, happiness, then hearing it causes some different chemical changes in your body. Your body's glands secrete something good, release some good fluids that are beneficial for health. And when you hear bad news, a loss, then those glands react differently. Then some other chemicals are released, which cause harm. This is why people who are stressed get diabetes. Some glands in the body work differently. Physical changes occur in them, and some get acidity, some get diabetes, some get some other problem. Some go into depression. Hearing such things, thinking such things, it also affects the body. Does this happen or not? It happens, right? So, all this happens in those things that are physical substances, made of sattva, rajas, and tamas, inanimate objects, they are adversely affected. So, the mind, consciousness, is also a physical substance. It is also made of nature, made of sattva, rajas, and tamas. So, when a good sight is seen by any sense organ, the state of consciousness changes. Sattva guna fills it. When good news is heard, a good thing is seen, a good sight is seen, then consciousness also changes. At that time, sattva guna emerges. Rajas guna and tamas guna are suppressed. And when a bad sight is seen, bad things are heard, things of loss, harm, then rajas guna and tamas guna fill it, and sattva guna is suppressed. These changes happen. Okay? Consciousness is a physical substance. It is made of sattva, rajas, and tamas. It has three types of particles. So, in this way, whatever news of objects consciousness receives. And it conveys it to the soul through the senses. So, in this process, various changes keep happening in it. This is called "parinami" (transformable). What will we call it? Consciousness is parinami. It undergoes results, changes, transformations. It has three particles. Because of this. So, this point is also explained in this sutra. So, listen to the entire essence of the sutra. "Tad uparaga apekshit." When the soul relates to any external object, the cooperation of consciousness is also necessary. For this reason, the object with which the soul relates comes to the soul through consciousness. So, consciousness gets its information. And the object from which the soul's relationship is broken, that object becomes unknown. So, it keeps becoming known and unknown. The object that consciousness sees will be known. The one that is not seen will not be known. And according to the one that is seen, there will also be a change in consciousness. Consciousness is parinami. Changes keep happening in it. Sometimes sattva guna emerges, sometimes rajas guna emerges, sometimes tamas guna emerges. Okay? This is the essence of this sutra. Shall I move on? Let's look at the next sutra. Please say. "Sadaa jnaataa chitttavrittayah tat prabhoh purushasya aparinaamitvah." This is the 18th sutra. It is explained here that "Sadaa jnaataa chitttavrittayah." The activities of consciousness are always known to the soul. The soul has information about consciousness 24 hours a day. The soul sees various objects through consciousness. Hears various sounds. Takes different actions through different senses. So, it knows what it is connected to. What it is disconnected from, consciousness does not know. This is the state of consciousness. But what is the state of the soul? The soul is connected to consciousness 24 hours a day. It does not disconnect. Its race is only up to consciousness. It just keeps watching consciousness 24 hours a day. Further, whatever consciousness connects with, the soul's connection with consciousness remains 24 hours. So, suppose you are awake for 17 hours a day, so you keep working for 17 hours. Whatever information comes into consciousness from whatever objects, through whatever senses, the soul has information about that object for 17 hours. Now, for 7 hours, the person sleeps at night. Even during sleep, the soul's connection with consciousness remains active. The soul's connection remains active 24 hours a day. It remains active with external things for 17 hours. For seven hours, we sleep. We close down. External information stops. But the internal information of consciousness still remains active. During sleep, you experience happiness. Sometimes you experience sadness. When you get good sleep, you wake up in the morning and say, "Wow, it was great. I had a good sleep today." Sometimes you say, "Today was great. I had a good sleep." This means that during the 7 hours of sleep at night, you experienced happiness. If you had not experienced happiness, how would you say in the morning, "Today I had a great, good sleep"? How would you say this? The person who says, "Today I had a great sleep," means that during sleep, he experienced happiness. From this, it is proven that your connection with consciousness was active even during sleep. The connection with the outside world through the senses was cut off. Therefore, external information stopped. But the connection with consciousness from within was active. It is being informed. Sometimes you don't get good sleep. Mosquitoes bite. It's the summer season at night. The light goes out. The fan stops, and mosquitoes bite. Then in the morning, you wake up and say, "Sir, it was not good today. It was not good today. I did not get happiness today. Today, I just kept tossing and turning, distressed. I did not get good sleep." That day, you experienced sadness during sleep at night. So, in the morning, you say, "It was not good today. I did not get good sleep." So, what does this mean? The soul's connection with consciousness remains active 24 hours a day. Whether it is awake, dreaming, or sleeping. We also dream at night, right? When we dream, the impressions in the mind are awakening, which are appearing to you in the form of dreams. So, the soul's connection with consciousness is active then too. Whether it is the dream state, it is active. Whether it is the sleep state, it is active. Whether it is the waking state, it is active. It is active 24 hours a day. Therefore, it is said, "Sadaa jnaataa chitttavrittayah." The soul is informed of it 24 hours a day. It has a direct connection with consciousness. "Tat prabhoh purushasya." "Purusha" is the soul. It is the lord, the master of consciousness. Just as you are the owner of your car, the car is with you 24 hours a day. You can use it whenever you want, drive it wherever you want. It is your property, you bought it, paid for it, bought the car. Now the car is your servant. Drive it wherever you want. So, we have also paid God and bought consciousness. Well, it's not bought. It's on rent. Some people buy their own car. Some sit in a taxi. They get their work done by paying fare. They don't have that much money in their pocket to buy. So, they get their work done by paying fare in a taxi. So, we have given rent to God. God has given us a taxi, a consciousness taxi, on rent. What rent did we give? Of actions. We performed some actions, and God gave us consciousness, intellect, body, senses based on those actions. We have taken all these on rent. It's a taxi. In it, there are many parts that work. So, when we have taken consciousness on rent from God, now we are sitting in the taxi, so the taxi will go wherever we want, right? For that duration, we have become its authority. For as long as we have paid the rent. So, in a way, we have taken consciousness, senses, mind, body, all these from God by paying rent. And now they work according to our wishes. So, the soul keeps making consciousness work according to its wishes. In this sense, "tat prabhoh" is used to mean the authority to use it. So, the soul is the authority of consciousness. It keeps making consciousness work according to its wishes 24 hours a day. Whether it is dreaming, sleeping, or waking. Whatever it does, it has full authority. God has given complete freedom. And because the soul is "aparinami" (unchangeable). What was said? "Purusha aparinaami." See, it is written in the sutra, "aparinamitvah." The soul is unchangeable. No change occurs in it. Why does it not occur? Because the soul is particle-less. It has no pieces, no parts. Consciousness was particle-based. It had three particles: sattva, rajas, tamas. Therefore, changes occurred in it. Sometimes sattva dominant, sometimes rajas guna dominant, sometimes tamas guna dominant. So, changes kept happening in consciousness. But the soul has no particles. Therefore, no change occurs in it. It always remains the same. If it receives good information, good news, it becomes happy. If it receives bad news, it becomes sad. It becomes happy and sad. Even then, no physical change occurs in it. No physical transformation occurs because it has no particles. A very strange thing. It becomes happy. The soul becomes sad. Yet, no change occurs. The only change is this. Sometimes it feels happy, sometimes bad. Sometimes it experiences happiness, sometimes sadness. Only these experiences change. The fundamental nature of the soul does not change. It remains as it is. So, this is understood from the word "aparinami." So, what is the essence of the entire sutra? That the soul is conscious. It has a relationship with consciousness 24 hours a day. And it is informed about consciousness 24 hours a day. It is unchangeable. It is particle-less. No physical transformation, increase, decrease, cutting, joining, melting, rotting, or any such distortion occurs in it. This is about the soul. In consciousness, all this happens because the influence of particles and events keeps happening. There are ups and downs in it. Nothing happens in the soul. Okay, sir. Yes. Please say. Just like your car gets dented. If someone hits the car, it gets a dent, right? So, consciousness is also affected. If someone tells you bad news that "He was saying this about you." See, your temper will flare up. You will get angry. Your mind will heat up. Your blood pressure will rise. Your hands and feet will start trembling. Now, you don't know what you will say. See, is the change happening to an inanimate object or not? Just as the body is inanimate.

But change is happening. The mind is also inert, and it will also change. Okay. Yes, it is not. It has some sattva guna. Without sattva, no object is formed. Any object is made up of three types of atoms. Be it alcohol, egg, meat, from the great element to all the substances of the entire creation, every object has all three qualities. Alcohol also has sattva guna. 5% 8% 10% 20% it has rajo guna. And 70% tamo guna. I am explaining in simple language for understanding. Tamo guna is dominant. So, let's say it has 70% tamo guna. It has 15-20% rajo guna, and 10% sattva guna in alcohol. So, there is 10%, isn't there? If a person drinks for the first time, they won't like it. It will taste bitter, bad, tasteless. Then gradually, they will practice drinking it daily, they will practice. And when they gradually practice, they will learn to derive pleasure from that 10% sattva guna. Even though it has 70% tamo guna. They will suppress the effect of tamo guna through their practice. They will also suppress the 20% effect of rajo guna. They will awaken that 10% sattva, and by drinking it, they will become so ecstatic. They say, "Wow, the world looks colorful now." After drinking alcohol, the world appears colorful to them. So, in this way, through practice, they learn to derive pleasure from it. The same applies to opium, the same to cannabis, the same to datura, the same to all intoxicating substances; it's the same with all of them. There is always some 5-10% sattva guna in every object. No object is formed without a mixture of the three. Okay. Yes, please speak. Yes, it will be sad, but will any burden decrease in the soul, will something start to dissolve in it, start to rot? No such change will happen in it. Because the possibility of dissolving and rotting is not there. This dissolving, rotting, spoiling, improving – this possibility exists in inert substances that have particles. The soul does not have particles. Therefore, it is immutable; there is no increase, decrease, dissolution, rotting, cutting, joining in it. But this happens in the mind because it has particles. Therefore, its states keep changing. Sometimes one quality will fill it, sometimes another. Those are according to circumstances. Yes, it will be sad. That is for sure. Its feeling is its own quality. If it receives bad news, it will be sad. If it receives good news, it will be happy. It will be happy, it will be sad. Nothing more than that will happen. That's all that will happen. Yes. It can also happen like this. It can happen up to a certain limit. The more the soul has knowledge of the truth. What did you say? The more it will control the mind and will not be sad. Even upon receiving bad news, there will be no sadness. It will control it. The soul can completely control mental sufferings. Based on its knowledge of the truth. Just as an ordinary person gets angry over a small matter, their mind gets disturbed, their mood gets spoiled. So, a yogi, a knower of truth, a detached person, if you tell them a small thing, it will have no effect on them. They will control it. It will make no difference to them. Up to a certain limit, it will make no difference. And the higher one's knowledge of the truth becomes, the more they will be able to control it. Okay, it might be able to control the mental aspect. But the body has a limit. It cannot control the body 100%. It can control the mental. For example, if someone makes a very serious false accusation against you, a terrible accusation, and writes letters against you and sends them all over the country to 200-500 homes, and your knowledge of the truth is very high, then it will not affect you. You will say, "Okay, let this mad, foolish person make false accusations without reason. What is being harmed in me? I won't become like that because of what they say. I am as I am. Let them make these accusations. My soul or I will not be harmed by their accusations." The only thing that will happen is that for every person they lie to and spread misconceptions about me, those 200-500 people will turn against me. That's all that will happen. What more can happen? It cannot harm my soul. Through their knowledge and science, their knowledge of the truth, they will stop this effect. An ordinary person cannot stop it. They will say, "Why are they spreading such things about me? This is a terrible wicked person. I will beat them up. They tell it to 500 people, I will tell it to 5000." They will get completely agitated, their mind will be disturbed. But the knower of truth does not worry. They say, "It's okay, let them speak. In this world, false accusations were made against Shri Ramachandra Ji. People said he sent his wife away from home at the word of a washerman. Tell me, is this true or a false accusation? It's false, isn't it? So, people did not spare even Shri Ram Ji. He was such a good king, so strong, intelligent, a scholar of the Vedas, righteous, the ideal person. They did not spare him either. False accusations were made against him. Then accusations were made against Shri Krishna Ji. They said he plays with the Gopis. He is a butter thief. Such false accusations were made. Was Shri Krishna Ji like that? No. So, he thought, people don't spare even such great men like Shri Krishna Ji. They don't spare Shri Ram Ji. They don't spare Shri Krishna Ji. They defame everyone. They make false accusations. Then he thought, God, the owner of the whole world, the king of all. Does God commit scams? Does God commit injustice? These people don't spare even God. Who is all-powerful. Completely blameless. The God who has never committed even the slightest injustice to anyone even for a single day. People don't spare him. They abuse him fiercely. "Oh God, may you be destroyed. You killed my son." When a son dies, people curse God. And they get so angry that if he comes into my hands one day, I will break his bones. They get so angry at God. And they make such false accusations. "He killed my son. He made my case fail. He made me lose my case. He did this. He did that." All the losses are blamed on God. Whether it's their fault or someone else's, they blame God. So, what does a knower of truth think? They think, "This world is so worthless, so wicked, so foolish that they don't spare Ram Ji, they don't spare Krishna Ji. They don't spare the all-powerful, omniscient, completely blameless God. So, what am I? Who will spare me? Accusations will be made against me too. They will be made. So what? 10% of my soul has not been cut off. My soul has not suffered 20% loss. The soul is 100% safe. You can make as many accusations as you want, nothing will happen. Only a few people will be misled. That's all. They find a solution for this. What is the solution? The solution is that for all the people this person has incited against me, made false accusations against, misled these 500 people, they will look for who among them is intelligent. How many people are sensible? They will pick out two, three, four sensible people out of 500. I am also telling you this technique. Your tension will also be removed. Learn it. So, they will find four or five people out of those 500 who are sensible, intelligent, and in front of them, they will present their clarification, saying, "This false accusation made in this letter, in this document, is all wrong. These are all false accusations. I am not the kind of person I am being accused of being. And if you want to test, then test. I give you full freedom. Go find proof, bring it. Conduct all tests with evidence. If I am found guilty of the accusations made against me. If I am truly found guilty after the evidence test, then I declare in front of everyone. I will accept punishment in front of everyone. You punish me in front of the public at the crossroads. I will accept the punishment. And if I am not found guilty, if I am found innocent, then this person who is talking nonsense, you should also correct them a bit. You should also explain to them that they should not make such false accusations. Then, if you wish, you can punish them. If not, at least put a brake on them so that they do not misbehave like this again. So, a knower of truth will say this. Then those five sensible people will understand from these sentences that yes, this is true. Will they understand or not? They will understand, won't they? If they were guilty, a criminal, would they say this? "I will accept punishment at the crossroads. I will accept punishment in front of everyone." They wouldn't say that. But this person is speaking openly. "I am not a criminal. Go and test. It's my challenge." This means they are truly innocent. They are speaking the truth. So, those five people will understand from just saying this. And if even one of the five still has a doubt, they will conduct a small test. "Go ahead, brother. And if we have not done anything wrong, why should we be afraid? Why the tension? Conduct the test." And they will conduct the test. Then it will also be proven to them that they are innocent. They have not made any mistake. So, the five people will understand our truth. Now, those five people will explain to the other five hundred. That's all we need to do. Explain to the intelligent ones that this is a false accusation. I have not done anything like this. If those five understand, they will explain to everyone else. Things spread like this. Just as the false news spread, this true news will also spread. They will spread it further. Our objective will be fulfilled. In this way, a knower of truth stops the effect of such false accusations and manages it. They don't worry. They remain happy. Tension-free. So, they can stop the mental aspect, but they can only stop the physical aspect up to a limit. Suppose when your body is fine, healthy, not sick, no fever, normal temperature, then you do all your work properly. Suppose you get a fever of 102 degrees Fahrenheit. Now it will make a difference. Yes. It will make a difference with a fever of 102, won't it? Now your mind and body will not work as much as they normally do every day. There will be a change. Then the temperature will increase further. 103, 104, then the situation will worsen. With a fever of 104 degrees Fahrenheit, an ordinary person's condition will be terrible. They will not be able to cope. They will become unconscious or lie down. They will be terribly distressed on the bed. A knower of truth, a yogi, will not be so sad. They will be less sad. They will stop the fever up to 102 degrees Fahrenheit. They will not be affected by it. As the fever increases above that, the effect will increase. An ordinary person's condition will worsen even at 102. So, our Guru used to say that when I get a fever of 102, I am still fine. It makes no difference to me. This fever has no effect on my body or my mental state. I can control it up to 102. Then when it becomes 104, the situation is no longer in my control. Then it affects me a little. The situation changes. So, this is the level of a knower of truth. Their state. In this way, they stop these effects. So, they are living much better than others. They live well. It's fine. Any other doubts, please speak. Controlled the mind. That's right. They did not have complete yogic ability. They did not have high detachment. But there was a skill within them, the ability they had, whatever knowledge they had, and the spirit with which they worked, with the spirit of patriotism, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel worked with the spirit of protecting the country, doing good deeds, and there were so many 47-48 people who had important cases pending against them. So, was their value more, or the wife's value more? Whichever was more, that was gone. That was not coming back. And if I run away at this time, these 48 people will suffer a loss. So, looking at the loss and gain, they strengthened their mental state, thinking that the wife's demise has happened. Only the final rites need to be performed. I won't do that. Someone else will do it eventually. But if I leave this work, these 48 people will suffer a loss. So, thinking this, they acted wisely and controlled their mind. They were not disturbed or affected by that incident and focused fully on their work and won the case. So, other people also do this. These other people are not standing at zero. They also have knowledge. They have knowledge of the truth. They also have some detachment. They have some spirit of patriotism. Because of that, they get enthusiasm, zeal. And by comparing loss and gain, they prioritize the side of gain, the side with more gain, and make the other side secondary. Other people also do this according to their own abilities. So, Sardar Patel did the right thing, acted perfectly, and succeeded in his work. Yes, they also talked about Yogi Ji, CM Yogi of Uttar Pradesh. His father also passed away, and he received the news. It made no difference to him. He is a renunciate anyway and has knowledge and wisdom. So, it's good. So, the point is that whoever has more knowledge and wisdom, more detachment, more spirit of doing good deeds, higher knowledge of the truth, the more they will fight these situations and will not be affected, not be troubled, not be sad, and will win. So, this is what is being told here. Okay. Any other questions? Yes, please speak. Your question is whether the mind remains with the soul in the next birth or not. My answer is, it does. This mind that we have, the mind, will go with us in the next birth. It will accompany us for millions of births. Until when will it accompany the soul? Until liberation is achieved. Until we achieve liberation. This mind will accompany us for millions of births. It will lead us to liberation. Either it will separate from us upon liberation. Or if a deluge occurs in between and liberation is not achieved. If the time of deluge arrives, it will separate then. If there is no deluge and no liberation, then this mind will continue with us for millions of births. Yes, there will be wear and tear. A little bit. Very little. For example, what is the lifespan of a car? 20 years. 15 years, 20 years. After that, it gets damaged. Then people abandon it and buy a new one. So, what is the lifespan of a car? 15-20 years. So, wear and tear happens rapidly in it. The lifespan of the body is 70-80-100 years. Wear and tear happens rapidly in it. So, it gets destroyed in 100 years. A car gets destroyed in 15-20 years. But if the lifespan of an object is 4 billion 320 million years, how slow will the rate of wear and tear be? How slow will it be? It will wear down very, very slowly. It will continue to be the same for millions of years. So, the lifespan of the mind is 4 billion 320 million years. The mind, senses, intellect – this subtle body has such a long lifespan. Therefore, the rate of wear and tear is also very low. It will happen slowly. Yes, and please speak. This is not right. When detachment occurs and the soul experiences the Supreme Being. When samadhi is attained. Even at that time, the mind remains connected with the soul. It is not cut off. It does not separate. Because God gave it the mind precisely so that it could perform its tasks. Whether it is the task of samadhi or worldly dealings, anything. It cannot do anything without the mind. It cannot even experience God without the mind. It is a means. As long as the soul is bound, is a body-dweller, all its tasks will be done through the mind. They will not happen directly without it. When it goes to liberation, then the mind will separate from it. This is written in the scriptures. When the mind separates from it, then it will be liberated. Then, in liberation, the mind is also not needed. The senses, these physical senses, are not needed. The gross body, the subtle body, nothing is needed there. There, the soul's connection with all three bodies will be severed. Then the soul has its own 24 powers, which are written in the ninth chapter of Satyarth Prakash. They are its natural qualities. 24 powers. They will remain with the soul in liberation and even today. They are natural. They will never be removed, whether in bondage or in liberation. Those 24 powers will accompany it in moksha. But they are very few, very weak. The soul cannot function with just these powers. Whenever it needs to do some external work, any work, it needs some external help. External support. Then it becomes conscious, then it works. So, when the soul comes into bondage, it performs whatever it does with the help of the body, mind, senses, intellect, and other physical substances. Whether it is to attain samadhi or to experience God, it needs those means. When it goes to liberation, these physical means will be shed. There, it will receive God's power. It will get its support. Then, with its power, it will do all its work in liberation. In bondage, it needs the help of both nature and God. Here, it needs help from both. And in moksha, nature is completely cut off, and then it does all its work with God's power. Seeing, hearing, roaming, wandering, talking, discussing amongst themselves. Liberated souls also talk amongst themselves. Just as you and I are talking. You and I are both in a state of bondage, so we are talking. Similarly, if two souls are in liberation, they can talk to each other. There is no need to make friends. There are no enemies there. Everyone is a friend there. [Laughter] There are no enemies in liberation. Everyone is a friend. They can stay together if they wish. There is no bondage there. Bondage is here. Liberation is freedom. Full freedom. Go roam around, chat, see, hear, look at the sights of the world. Complete freedom. So, they talk there. Someone asked, "What do they talk about?" I said, "Just like we talk." They also talk. What do we talk about? We talk about, "Brother, we saw the Taj Mahal. We saw the Red Fort in Delhi-Agra. It was very beautiful." That's what we talk about, isn't it? Someone went to Switzerland, someone went to England, someone traveled to Japan. Then they come back and tell what they saw. That's what we talk about. So, just as we talk here about, "I went to London, I went to Switzerland, I traveled to Dubai." Similarly, liberated souls also talk amongst themselves. They ask, "Yes, Lalchand Ji, where did you travel?" So, Lalchand Ji said, "I am just returning from seeing the rings of Saturn. It's very beautiful. You haven't seen them." Then another person, Prafull Ji, said, "No, I haven't seen them." "Oh, you haven't seen them? Go and see them. It's very beautiful." Now, go and see. They will go and see. Is there any tax here? No. No rent, no passport, no visa, no tax. Nothing. Free to roam. They have God's power. So, they will say, "I saw the rings of Saturn." Prafull Ji says, "I will go and see too." He will also go and see. Then they will ask, "What did you see?" He will say, "I went to the Indian Ocean. I saw the fish." "Oh, what beautiful fish! What colors, what designs – red, yellow, sparkling, golden – what beautiful fish there were. One fish was such that it emitted light all around. It was very enjoyable to see." Then Prafull Ji will say, "Lalchand Ji, didn't you see that in the Indian Ocean?" "No, I didn't see it." "Then go and see it. What tax is there here?" They will go and see the Indian Ocean. Just like this, they talk about seeing and traveling. They must be talking like that. All the talks cannot be understood here. [Laughter] Does the soul rest in liberation or not? Both are happening there. They will see there. They will roam. They will get tired. They will get bored. So, they will also rest. They might rest for a few years. Then they might roam for 5-10 years. Then when they get tired and bored. Then they will rest. That will be known only after going there. The creation will remain the same. The experience will differ. Yes, here we have the body, so we are bound by it, so we have to sleep, wake up, exercise. There is a lot of hassle here. So, in liberation, all the hassle ends. There will be no body. No bathing, no washing, no feeding, no drinking, no problems at all. So, there, they will be free 24 hours. Roam around freely, see. Enjoy God and see the sights of the world. No attachment, no aversion, nothing. Because the cause of all these is ignorance. Attachment, aversion, lust, anger, greed, envy, hatred, attachment, ego – the root cause of all these things is ignorance. We have already cut off the root here. Ignorance has been destroyed here. So, in moksha, there is no ignorance, no attachment, aversion, lust, anger, nothing. No ego, no one is small, no one is big. Everyone is equal. Liberated souls are all equal. They are all the same. They are in their original form in moksha, and everyone's original form is the same. Therefore, there, no one considers anyone small, no one considers anyone big. Everyone is equal. They enjoy immensely. It is written in Satyarth Prakash. There, no one is small or big. Just as here there is a president, a minister, a vice-president, a treasurer. Here, the positions are high and low, aren't they? There, there is no such high or low. Everyone is equal. Yes. Yes, male and female are names of the body. The body is not there. All souls are the same. Okay. Yes, please. Last question. But the experience continues continuously. See, the bliss of liberation is the bliss of God. There is nothing separate from God. Right? God is the owner and king of the world. And in liberation, He will give the same bliss. He will give it in samadhi too. So, God is one. The bliss we will get in liberation will be God's bliss. And the bliss we get by sitting in samadhi and experiencing God, in asamprajñāta samadhi, is God's bliss. That is, the bliss of liberation and the bliss of God in samadhi are the same. There is no difference. The only difference is that here there is a body, and there there will be no body. The bliss will be the same, the same bliss. So, a yogi experiences the bliss of liberation in asamprajñāta samadhi. If you need proof, then Yoga Sutras, first chapter, 19th sutra. It is written there. Read it. It is written there, Yoga Sutras, first pada, 19th sutra. Bhavapratyayo videhaprakṛtilayānām. This is the sutra. In Vyasa Bhashya, it is written that those yogis in samadhi experience liberation. So, the bliss of liberation and the bliss of samadhi, the bliss of God, are the same. So, they experience this right here. And from this bliss, the impressions that are formed, due to those impressions, they destroy all afflictions like ignorance, etc. And by destroying this, they completely shed the body and become liberated. Then, in liberation, there are no more problems. But as long as the body exists, there are problems. They will do samadhi for an hour, two hours, then they will get tired. Then they will have to come back. They will return to worldly dealings, and that state will diminish slightly, change. To avoid this hassle, they then go to complete moksha, where there will be peace. There will be bliss for 24 hours. Therefore, they go to moksha. You might not have found it in this book. You found something like liberation. You found it, didn't you? Yes. You found it in the 19th sutra, didn't you? Yes. So, in this way, they experience the bliss of liberation right here while sitting. Time is up. Yes, we will conclude the discourse. Shri Lalchand Ji will provide further information. Let's give a round of applause to our revered Swami Ji Maharaj, with immense gratitude.
