The truth about Afghanistan. I had the unbelievable privilege to cross Afghanistan by bicycle, a country that, until recently, I believed was at war for over 40 years. It differs culturally and politically extremely strongly from our Western values and views. There is much poverty, child labor, and society is strictly separated by gender. Women in Afghanistan can practically not participate in public life and must cope with extreme restrictions. The economy is in ruins, and the people have absolutely no perspective, and the largest part of the population could not influence this development.  Despite all this, without exception, all my encounters with these people were extremely positive. The people are extremely hospitable and communicative and, despite all the difficult circumstances they have to live with, radiate a high zest for life. They help each other as best they can and try to make the best of the situation. A country is not only black or white. Politics does not reflect society. Please remember this. Thank you.

das unglaubliche Privileg Afghanistan
mit dem Fahrrad zu durchqueren ein Land
dass ich bis vor kurzen noch über 40
Jahre im Krieg befand es unterscheidet
sich kulturell und politisch extrem
stark von unseren westlichen Werten und
Ansichten es gibt viel Armut
Kinderarbeit und die Gesellschaft ist
strikt nach dem Geschlecht getrennt
Frauen in Afghanistan können quasi nicht
am öffentlichen Leben teilnehmen und
müssen mit extremen Einschränkungen
klarkmen die Wirtschaft ist am Boden und
die Menschen haben absolut keine
Perspektive und der größte Teil der
Bevölkerung konnte diese Entwicklung
nicht beeinflussen trotz alledem
verliefen ausnahmslos alle meine
Begegnungen mit diesen Menschen hier
extrem positiv die Menschen sind extrem
gastfreundlich und kommunikativ und
strahlen trotz all den schwierigen
Umständen mit denen sie leben müssen
eine hohe Lebensfreude aus sie helfen
sich gegenseitig so gut wie es geht und
versuchen das Beste aus der Situation zu
machen ein Land ist nicht nur schwarz
oder weiß die Politik spiegelt nicht die
Gesellschaft wieder bitte denkt daran
