Are you fully activating your potential at this stage of your life? Was the last decade a true, full expression of the best of who you could be? You've got to be truthful. You're the only one who knows this, and unfortunately, you are also the only person who can summon that potential. This has to be the year of you summoning your potential more often. Summon your potential. Your potential doesn't happen because what happens is homeostasis. You go through the motions. You must activate your potential every day. You must turn yourself on. You must get there. You must get present. You must find that state, that motivation, that drive, that connection, that emotion, that presence. You're the only one who can activate your potential. There is no on switch that someone else has control of over you, your mind, your body. It is only you.
I'm going to share my best insights about how you can have an extraordinary quality of life. If you've been with me in the community for a long time, you all know that we kind of call each other Team HPX, which stands for the High Performance Experience, because we're all trying to live a greater experience of life, right? I promise it comes down to a feeling about the experience you're having in life. And today, we're going to really break down what does that experience look like? What does it feel like? What's it really going to take for you to feel happier each year? What's going to take for you to achieve your goals faster? How do you deepen your relationships? How do you grow faster?
So, what I'm going to urge everybody to do is double down on your goodness this year. You know, whatever you do that's good in the world, double down on it. About a year ago, I asked some of my best friends in the world to do that. I said, "You know what? The world's challenged right now. There's a lot of division. There's a lot of people who are frustrated and feeling lonely." So, whatever you do that adds good value to the world, makes people happy, you know, do more of that. So, double down on the best of who you are this year. That's ultimately going to be the best takeaway that we could all give each other, right? The best of who you are, double down on that. If you're already a role model, already a leader, already an influencer, double down on that. If you've just started your passions, double down on the passions. If you've got big aspirations and big dreams, but you've only been like, you've had one toe in, double down. Get both feet in. You know, this is the year to double down on all the great things that you know you've already wanted in your life, but you've only dabbled in them. You know, this has to be a year for you, all in, right? Because either you're going to go all in, and we're going to go all out. But this is the year you're going to go all in in your career. If you've wanted to do something that you're passionate, excited about, all in.
Because you know, the way I tell people to know whether or not they're grateful for their life is how they use their time. You know, people say, "Well, I'm grateful, Brandon. I fill out a gratitude journal." I said, "Well, that's nice, but how do your days look like over the last 24 hours? You know, your real life, how are you showing up? What are you using your time for?" Because if you have gratitude for life, you have reverence for life, and you have reverence for the fact that life can end. And I'm sure in this last decade, you lost some family, you lost some friends, you lost people you cared about. And I hope that put a lightning bolt in the back of your neck that said, "Live." You know, really live this next decade. Like, live it more than you did the last decade. Too many times, you weren't living life. You were on season seven of something on Netflix when you knew you could have gone out that night, or you could have spent some time with your family or friends, or you could have done some more art. And I know we all get trapped up in distractions, but this cannot be a decade of distraction for you.
I know a lot of people who, when they look back at their last decade, they're like, "Oh, I lost a lot of time." Some of you guys heard me talk about this idea that, you know, the average person now is spending 30 minutes a day on Facebook. And you think about that. At least the average North American is spending 30 minutes on Facebook a day, which doesn't sound like a lot. But 30 minutes of distraction a day leads to 22 eight-hour work days a year. Think about that. 22 eight-hour work days a year if you're only distracted for 30 minutes a day. But I know people say, "Brandon, I'm distracted for, you know, at least 60 minutes a day." Which means they lose 44 eight-hour work days a year. I know some people say, "Brandon, I'm distracted for a couple hours a day." And I'm like, "That means you're losing three or four months of eight-hour work days." And I know this is not a conversation between you and me to make you feel bad, or to even say that you have to focus all your life on work. I'm just here to say, man, when you lose so much time to distractions versus education, versus training, versus doing your actual passions, life's gone. And no one wants to end up at the end of this next decade regretful. No one wants to end up at the end of the next decade thinking, "Well, all I did was, you know, get distracted and consume." And we have to change the tone. We have to change what we're doing. We cannot keep getting lost into, you know, just absorbing and consuming things that don't help us improve the quality of our lives.
With that, I'm going to start with the biggest, the number one question I got from our community on social media. I think two months ago, I heard it over and over and over: "Brandon, I just want to be happier. I just want to be happier, man. You know, I'm in this relationship and I should be happy, I'm not. Uh, I have a good job, I'm not happy in it. Uh, you know, I have good health, so my friends don't have good health, but I'm still not happy. You know, I got the morning routine, I take good supplements, I do good work at work, but I'm just not happy and I can't figure out what's up."
And so, I'd like to give you a simple, sort of four-part framework for how to think about your happiness. And then we'll go into specific goals of your life, and I think that will really help. Because I know that everybody wants, you know, happiness. But I also believe it's not just happiness, we also want high performance. We want that higher level of experience. Not just to run around happy all the time, but also run around dedicated, devoted, excellent. Run around as somebody we're proud of, you know, somebody who we really feel happy about at the end of the day. Not just so we have emotions of pleasure, but we have real emotions of pride about how we're showing up and what we're doing.
So today, I'm going to share a very, very simple four-part thing. Just to kick off, we're just going to go fast, okay? I'm going to give you this little thing. It says "Happier" on it. Do yourself a favor, real quick, guys. Screenshot this. Okay? Yes, it says: Presence, Potential Activation, Passionate Lifestyle, and Purposeful Living. Okay? I'm going to break down each of these for you. But all four of these will explain your current level of happiness. And I promise you, they will dictate the happiness you're going to have.
What happens for all of us, especially this time, right? Some of you are looking a decade ahead right now. You're thinking, "I want to be a millionaire in a decade," or "I want to have hundreds of millions," or you're thinking, "I want to have this many followers," or "I want to have kids," or "I want to have this new career," or "I want to have the house and the car." And you're looking so far out, which is great. But what also happens when people start planning a future is the same thing that happens when they're living in their past. They're giving bits and pieces of themselves to other time zones. You know, you got a little bit of your mind on that last post on social media. You got a little bit of your mind on the kids going to school. You got a little bit of your mind all over the place, versus just engaging with what's here. And my request for you today is just be here with us. You know, take this time to work on yourself right now and really think about your happiness.
Because think about also the times that you were unhappy, or think about the reality that maybe you're okay, but you're not as happy as you want to be. Well, you're only as happy as you want to be is if, in each moment of the day, you're grabbing on more moments of mindfulness and awareness. You're engaging more of the moment. See, the more moments you breeze by, you don't notice, the more it pulls away from your happiness quotient. And I know you know this. But if you think about how many times you didn't even notice your kids, or you didn't even notice what you were doing at work, or you didn't even feel the day. You ended the day and you never even felt the day. That was a presence problem.
And I know you've heard me talk about this too, because I'm always saying it's not about winning the day. For so many people, because they get so many, they get to-do lists done, they got checklists, they're making magic happen, they got their goals, they're achievement-driven. So they're already winning the day, they're moving ahead, but they're not feeling the day. So they're losing life. You know, like, we all want what is the high-performance experience? It's feeling a greater connection to the day, and it's allowing greater challenge and presence and energy into the moment of the day. And I know some of you like, "Yeah, yeah, Brandon, get the good stuff." I'm like, "This is it." Like, I've got tons of tactics for you today, a whole six-part framework of things you must do. But I'm here to tell you, if you, what's the point if you don't feel more of the day and feel more of the moments again?
And what's the point? You know, one reason, you know, as many of you guys know, I'm a writer. And thank you for supporting my books over the years. I know when I'm typing along and I'm not feeling it, versus when I'm feeling it. And the only difference is I made myself feel it. I made myself lock in and engage. I made myself turn away the world, turn away the thoughts about the future, turn away fast, and I just focused. I zeroed in right here in this moment. And when I was able to gain presence, everything changed.
So many of your relationships are struggling right now because you're kind of half in the relationship. I mean, you might be there every night, you're at dinner, maybe, or maybe every morning you wake up together. But are you really waking up together? Are you really at dinner with each other? Are you really connecting? You know, here's what I want you to think about. Like, you see this little hand motion I'm doing right now? It's because I've trained myself to do that where, like, when I talk about presence, or I think about presence, it's like this. There's a push and a pull of energy that you feel when you are present. Like you sense higher levels of, like, what you are projecting when you're present, and you feel higher levels of energy what's coming to you when you're present. And if you don't feel that at all, that's just training and awareness to presence. You want to be happier in the world? Get better with that push and pull of every moment's sense of energy, right?
It's just like when you, when you're walking out in the park. Like, some days you can be out walking in the park, you don't even notice anything. And other days, for whatever reason, you just kind of zoom in energetically onto that flower, or you zoom in with that person you're talking with, and it's just like almost everything disappears but that one person in front of you, or that one thing that you see that's beautiful. That one day when you're walking along the beach and I see that big rainbow. Some days you're like, "Ah, rainbow." Another day's like, "Oh my God, it's a rainbow!" And the difference is you're just, you're really feeling that moment. You all follow? I want you to type this down: #FeelTheMoment. I really want you to think about that. Presence is feeling the moment. And if you feel the moment, you'll feel the day. As you feel the moment, and you feel the day, I promise you will become happier. Because those senses, that sensation of presence, it adds to the bank account of happiness. But most people, because they're in the past or in the future, and they're not attentive to their energy now, there's nothing adding to the bank account. So they're hoping that all these other things would add to the bank account of happiness: you know, wealth, fame, influence, having enough, doing things they love. And yet, a lot of very successful people are unhappy because they're missing this one thing. They're not feeling the day. They're not feeling each day. Feeling each moment.
And remember, feeling each moment, it's just like, bam! It's like, imagine it. It's not like it's a million bucks in your happiness account. It's like, sense, like literally one cent, two cents, three cents. Every time you sense the moment, you get a cent in your happiness bank account. So it takes a lot of presence to add up to happiness. The issue is, that's a good thing. Because if you start sensing a bunch of moments throughout the day, over the course of the month, and the years, and the decade, man, it's just a whole different experience. I mean, I bet a lot of you feel like the last decade flew by. And one reason it flew by is because you were never in it. You lacked that presence. And that's why your wife hates you, even though you do a good job. You know, you two are close, you're happy, you're faithful, but you don't have connection with somebody. Again, look at what I'm doing here. Presence. There's no push and pull of energy in the moment with your spouse. There's no push and pull in the moment with your kids. So yeah, the kids are there, but there was no energetic sense of them. Does that make sense? Remember, the more of those present moments we have, the more adds to our happiness bank account. That's the first idea: Presence leads to happiness.
The second one. This is the big tell. This is the big tell, my friends. Potential Activation. That's number two. Listen, your happiness is tied into: Do you feel you're activating your full potential? That's what I mean by potential activation. Do you feel you're activating your full potential? And I'd love for you to run down on your life with me right now. Let's talk about it. Your health. Are you activating your full potential in the area of health in your life? Your relationship. Think about the key relationship you have in your life. Are you being the best person you know how to be in your relationship right now? Think about your career. Are you activating your full potential on a consistent basis in your career? Or do you show up some Mondays, but miss most? Think about that for a minute. Think about the emotional quality of your life. Are you living as a happy person as you could be? As positive as you could be? These are things of potential activation.
Most people measure potential activation based on their bank account, their actual bank account, and whether or not they're achieving enough in their career. And I think that's fair, by the way. I mean, I think if you're looking at your career right now and you think it sucks and you're unhappy with it, time to face that up. I think too many people are scared to talk about career right now because they think, "Oh, that's external stuff, Brandon, and we shouldn't care." "Career, yeah, that's not gonna make you happy." I'm like, "Oh, no. Your career will make you happy. Your relationships will make you happy. Your health will make you happy. Your emotional quality of life, all these things add up."
The question is, are you fully activating your potential at this stage of your life? Was the last decade a true, full expression of the best of who you could be? Was the last decade a true, full expression of the best you could be? Now, people don't like that because sometimes they're like, "Well, that's unfair." But that's a yes or no question, okay? So let's take it and let's put it on a scale. On a scale of one to ten, was the last decade the truest, fullest expression of your potential? One would be, "No, you were a pile of last year and the decade before." Ten would be, "Oh my God, Brandon, I went further and farther and higher than I could possibly have ever imagined or dreamed." And you've got to be truthful, because you're the only one who knows this. You know, some of you guys know I'm blessed to coach the most extraordinary, high-achieving, giving, thoughtful, remarkable people in the world. And I can tell you, some of them have days where they get down on themselves too. And I remind them that, "No, no, over the course of the year, you were really pushing this year. You did a great job. You were really activating yourself." And we have to think about that because so many of us, we feel like, "Ah, I'm not activating my full potential," and we're hoping that someday that suddenly happens. But I'll share with you today six big ideas about how you're going to activate your potential better. Because you're the only person who knows it, and unfortunately, you are also the only person who can summon that potential.
And that's why you've got to have those basic things of that morning routine, or that morning planning session, or that way of finding presence during the day when you feel like crap. You have to be the person who activates, right? You're the only one. And you must compel yourself. You must summon that. And for some of you, feel like, "Well, Brandon, that feels like I'm forcing it." Then God bless you, force it until it becomes a rhythm, and you find your natural authenticity in that rhythm. But you've got to summon your potential this year more consistently than you did last year. Potential activation. Are you activating your potential as often as you could? That question makes you happy or unhappy? I know it too. Like those days I'm like, "I didn't, that was not the best of me. I didn't show my full potential in that moment." Or I have a week where I'm down, or something's not happening. I'm not saying you always have to do it. I'm saying you have to be vitally aware that your happiness is dictated on potential activation.
Number three: Passionate Lifestyle. What does that mean? It means people often confuse lifestyle, they don't understand what that means. It means your daily reality of action. That's what a lifestyle is. It's your daily reality of action. And notice I said "passionate lifestyle." So my question is, do you sense each day that you are able to pull or so they push your full passion into something? And this is a tricky one for most people. And in that, they're like, "Well, Brandon, I have a job that I don't love." I'm like, "Okay, but even in that job you didn't love, did you do something or show your passion in that job you didn't love?" I had a job that I did not love for seven years of my life, and yet I was very high-performing in it. People were happy with me in it, but I knew that I didn't love it. And even though I didn't love it, I said, "You know what? I don't love this right now. I know where I want to go. I'm trying to get this experience." So, you know what? Let me be happy with and passionate about what I'm doing right here, even though I don't love it. You know, it's that old thing of, you know, the Buddhist monks washing dishes with a big smile on their face. Why? Teaching yourself to be happy doing the mundane. Teaching yourself to be happy doing the mundane. But you have to go one step further. You have to teach yourself to be actually passionate about it, to bring some real fire at what you're doing. You know, the worst thing you can do is just keep going through the motions in life. Because some people say, "Well, my lifestyle isn't what I want, Brandon." I'm like, "I know." "Well, then don't go through the motions doing what." Like, engage with what you are doing and find ways to put more passion in it.
And here's what I say: Even if you don't love your job, even if you're in a relationship you don't love, you still must architect moments of passion every day. That's what passionate lifestyle means. Architect moments of passion each day. For me, let me give an example. It was an unbelievable year of administration for me, like a lot of paperwork. And there were days of like, "I hate doing paperwork." And what would I do? I know. Well, I know passionate lifestyle is important to me. I'm not passionate about paperwork. So I've got to carve out these times. I would carve away 30 minutes of the day to be passionate in my writing, because that's one thing that makes me passionate is writing. So I would just, even in the context of not loving that thing that I had to do that day, I would carve out a little time to make sure there was passion daily. Because if you have so many days, or so many weeks, or so many months go by and you don't even touch the rim of a passion, you start to become deeply miserable. And I know you know this. But it is not a thing where you say, "Well, Brandon, I'm going to wait until this time that I can be passionate." A lot of people make that mistake. This time of year, they're setting goals and visions. "In three years, I'll be happy. In a decade, I'll be happy. When I get this thing." I'm like, "Oh, no. You need to access passion like right now. It's so critical."
Last big idea on this one is purposeful living. Sorry about that. Purposeful living. It means you must summon some sense of purpose every single day. Where that means you just are more purposeful and present in what you are doing. Or what I tell people, like a junior varsity version of purpose, is this word called intention, right? Intention. Like, "Oh, I'm going to have purpose or intention of going into this room and behaving like this." "I'm going to have a purpose for my day to accomplish these goals, right?" What happens for many people is they just wake up and they go through the day reacting. "Well, what did people say? Who called me? Who texted me? What emails did I get?" That's not intentional. That's not purposeful. That's reactive. And listen to this one. This is really important for you here. The more hours of reactivity you have each day, the more unhappiness you have. The more hours of reactivity you have each day, the more unhappiness you have. Have you ever been in a place where all you did during the day, you just had to reply to everybody all day long? And at the end of the day, you were like, exhausted and spent, but you didn't feel purpose? Well, listen, maybe that happens if you're like, if that's your job, if that's your purpose, right? If your vision, your mission, and what you're doing in your life is helping people. Like, for example, for many years in my own career, I did all my customer service for about three years of my career. Like, every email I personally replied to. "Hey, it's Brandon, sorry that thing you couldn't log in." "Hey, it's Brandon, I'll track down your book." For like three years of my life, I was customer service. I loved those days. That was purposeful for me being in customer service because I was like, "Oh, my day today is to respond, a big portion of it, to the people I'm trying to serve." So I was super cool with that. But outside of maybe that action of purpose, when it's just you got to reply to everybody's thing, and you didn't carve out the day intentionally, you're losing a sense of purpose.
Over a period of time, and purpose is not something you have one of. I think that if you've been with me for a while, you know that I don't believe you all have. I don't think anyone knows or will ever discover or find their one life's purpose. It doesn't really work that way because every relationship you're in can be purposeful. Every task, activity, or dream that you engage in can be purposeful. At that stage of your life, when you're young, there's a certain sense of purpose about you. When you're older, there's a certain sense of purpose. When you live in this town, or you're in that career, the sense of purpose each day can change. But listen, your job is to summon that sense of purpose to begin the day and ask, "What am I going to be purposeful about today? What's the purpose today?" Don't worry about, "What's the purpose of my life?" What's the purpose of this day? "Oh, my purpose of this day is these three goals. Prioritize this relationship. Make sure I take care of myself." That's the purpose for the day. Great. Do that. But make sure, listen, make sure you're starting your day with that purposeful intent. Because if you don't start the day with that purposeful intent, what ends up happening is you just, you're reacting to this all day.
And please note what I said earlier. One of the ultimate challenges people are having is they're spending 30 minutes of just blind consumption on the phone each day that's totally irrelevant to their life. You know, I don't know about you, but I know a lot of people who spend more than an hour just looking at this on average. People pick up their phone like hundreds of times a day. I'm like, "Hundreds of times a day?" I think I pick up my phone like maybe seven or eight times a day. That's it. Why? Because when I, when it's time to pick up the phone, I pick up the phone. I don't just, I'm bored, or I don't know what to do, so I pick up the phone and start looking at the phone. That's not an action. That's not purposeful. That's reactive. I don't do with myself. Let me react to things. No, sit down and ask, "What would be the highest best use of my time right now?" "What would be the highest best use of my time right now?" I want you to teach yourself to do instead of picking up this phone. I literally spent, I think it was all of 2010, I made it an emotional trigger for myself. Pick up phone. That was the action trigger. Was to ask, "What would be the highest best use of my time right now?" And you know what? It never said, "Check another seven YouTube videos." Though it would say, "Oh, highest best use of my time. Let me write those pages today. Let me shoot that video today. Let me architect that project with my team today." It never said, "Browse social media." Think about that. If you could, could you ever ask yourself, "What's the highest best use of my time?" And your brain would ever say, "Browse social media?" That's the difference between purposeful living and reactive living.
And I'm here to tell you, a lot of people are losing so much time. Remember, 30 minutes lost a day is 22 eight-hour work days a year. 60 minutes lost a day is 44 work days a year. 44 work days, so a month and a half of work days gone because you went to this, because you didn't tap into purpose. I'm here to encourage you: purposeful living. What's my intention? What would be the highest, most purposeful use of my time? Will change your life. You will not get as distracted. You will not. I almost do it for every time I'm consuming anything, even if I'm watching a show. Like my friends were asking the other day, "Is like, what are your favorite series on Netflix?" And I was like, "Oh, these couple shows here." And we were joking about how Netflix will like have you skip to the next episode or countdown, and you're in the next episode. All of a sudden, I always make sure that when I see that happen, guilt comes in, and I'm like, "Oh, if I watch one more, I'll be so guilty because this is not going to be the best use of my time." And it's not that I feel like I have to work, but maybe my wife is sitting right there, and I go, "Okay, it's about to flip over. What's the best use of our time right now? Why don't we take a walk together?" Because that's going to be better for us than watching, you know, some other thing on television. I'm not against television, but I'm here to tell you, television was not invented by God for purposeful living. It's a nice tool to check out of our life, to reset a little bit, but there's other modes to do that. And your amount of consumption is equivalent to your sense of purpose.
We are built to grow and create. The human species is a creation. Both creation, that's our origination, but creation, I believe, that's what we do differently than anyone else. We create ideas, buildings, dreams that others in the animal kingdom don't even think about. And so, if we're in consumption mode all year versus creation mode, our happiness will go down. Why? Because that number two, that potential activation, the more we consume here, the more we don't feel this one here. And it's a hard one to swallow. But I'm here to tell you, the happy news is this: This is easy. This is just feeling the day again. This is giving your best. This is carving out each time, each day, to do something you're really passionate about every single day, no matter what. And it's about asking every single day, "What could be the purpose of today? What's my intention for this day?" "Let me work towards that." And lay my head on the bed at the end of the night and go, "I was purposeful today. I had an objective. I had intention. I knew what I wanted. I was manifesting what I wanted."
Four simple keys to happiness: All right, so presence, potential activation, passionate lifestyle, and purposeful living. Of these four things, which is your favorite? And maybe you rank them, and you're just aware of them, because it's going to be different for everybody here. Which is most for you? Um, I would share from me, this year, passionate lifestyle. That's going to be my number one this year. I think I'm okay at these other ones, but this one I really struggled with.
Okay, let me get into this next big idea. Some of you heard me talk about this concept of Primary Aspiration Theory. I thought I would tell you about Primary Aspiration Theory. Some of you heard me teach about it, but I want to teach you three pieces around it that I usually don't teach that will really serve you. So here's what Primary Aspiration Theory looks like if you've not seen it before. So for those who've seen it, take a screenshot because I'm going to fill in three spots you haven't seen before, okay? Screenshot this. These are your three primary aspirations of life: our being goals, our relating goals, and our creating goals. And everybody else watching, you only want three things in life: being, relating, and creating.
And what does this mean? Being: We want to be congruent as our best self, living a positive and energized life. That's our being goal. Like, "I want to know I'm being the best of who I am," and I want to, you know, in my being, I want to feel energized. Right? That was the follow-up question we had. I want to feel energized and proud of who I am. Because when we're wiped out, no happiness. When we're not being congruent with who we really know we should be, unhappy. So those are being goals.
Relating goals are: I want to have deep, meaningful connections with other people around me. I want to feel cared for, and I want to have a good community. That's our relating goals in life. Every human desires that. Like, I want to feel connected with other people. I want to care for other people and feel cared for. And I want to have a good community. Those are all relating goals.
Then creating goals are: I want to have a creative life. I want to create things. But also, that's where we create our contribution, right? Contributions are things we create. Our sense of a contribution. If we didn't create it, it doesn't feel magical. For example, if, like, you some of you give like lots of money to charities, but if you don't feel like you're contributing, you don't feel satisfied in that area, it's because you're not creating anything. You're writing a check. People want to feel like they've created something. Created a movement, created a contribution, created their passion, created their art, created that project that made a difference or brought them to life. That's our creating goals.
In the middle, we have our growth goals, or our growing goals. Our growing goals kind of make all this come together, which is, uh, we all want to feel more enriched as we're growing in life. Like, like you want your relations to become more enriching, right? You want your career to become more enriching. Meaning, you want to feel more fulfillment from your life, from your relationships in the future than you do now. That's our sense of growth. I want to feel more fulfilled, more enriched in the future than I am now. And more excellent. That's part of our growth goals, right? I want to get better at something. The human drive for competency is the human drive for growth. I want to get better at something. I want to master something.
So, some of you who heard me teach this is called Primary Aspiration Theory. We really only want ultimately these three things, and we want to grow at it. But here's the thing I want to teach today. What makes the difference in the quality of our lives? What's the difference? Because isn't it true we all want to be energized and proud of who we are, consistent with the best of who we are? Isn't it true we all want great relationships that are connected, that are surrounded by family and friends in a good community? Isn't it true we all want to create things that matter? We all want to tap into our art and our passions and create those? We all want to grow. So how come some people do and some people don't? How come some people have a greater quality of life? Because I really believe that this is it. This explains life as best I've ever been able to explain it in over 20 years of studying, teaching, and researching at the highest levels of personal development. That's, sorry, that's all I got. Mom looks like an art project from sixth grade, but that's what it came out to be.
So, what's the difference maker? Let me teach you three major things in this area, and I think these will really serve you to know the difference between you and others in your life. And some of these might be popular, some might not. Then, the number one thing that makes all this go is your ambition. Your ambition for how great you want to be. How great you want your relationships to be. How great you want your art and your contributions to be. How great you want to grow. So many people, they know these things about them, but they don't have an ambition there. They don't have drive, right? They're just like, they're going through the motions. They don't have a goal there. They're just like, "Yeah, I'd like to be proud of myself." And other people go, "I want to be great." Some people say, "Well, I'd like to have an okay business." Other people go, "I want to be a millionaire." It's a difference in ambition. Yes. Some people go, "I want to be a billionaire." And it's absurd of an ambition for them because they're never going to take action, which we will talk about. But let's start right there with this idea. What separates people? Their ambitions. I can tell you, I know four or five friends in my own industry who dwarf my own productivity and dwarf my revenue. And some people, "How come that person's bigger, what you do, than you are?" But then I go, "Higher ambition." That's it. It's not skill. You can develop skill. It's ambition. They want to be up there. They want to be on that New York Times bestseller list. They want their name on the building. They want that bank account. They want that special thing. They want that deeper relationship. They want that vibrant, caring, loving, passionate, intimate, sexy life and relationship with their spouse. They want that. Some people just like, "I want spouse. I hope, you know, they make me dinner and clean up." That's their whole ambition for their marriage. Like, they don't see bigger things for that spouse and that relationship, right? You've heard this before: the quality of goals, or the height of your goals, dictates how much you achieve. But here's what I found over and over, and I know you guys heard me talk about this if you've ever seen me on stage somewhere. Some people's ambitions are completely tied to the circumstances of their past. Their ambition lives in their hometown still. Their ambition lives in the house they grew up with still. Their ambition lives with that old friendship group from years ago. When your ambition today must be cut off from your past. And this is really hard for people to wrap their head around because what they're doing is they're pulling their old story into today. And what their teachers, or their friends, or their parents thought of them has set their goal line. Does that make sense? So a lot of people, their ambition is actually kind of a chokehold on them about the past. Their ambition is so small compared to what they're actually capable of because someone told them what they were capable of. Somebody told them what their potential was. Somebody told them what they can and cannot do. So their ambition was set way too low. Their whole life. Their whole life, their ambition was set too low. You know what I'm talking about? You must raise your ambition. I've taught it for 20 years to everyone I interact with. You have to raise your ambition if you want more in life. You've got to raise your ambition. You've got to go, "Oh yeah, I can become that. Oh yeah, I can achieve that." Your ambition must not be tied to your current circumstances or competencies because you can change. My ambition to become a New York Times bestseller. I had never written a book. It was like, your ambition does not need to improve. I'm sorry, approved or understood by anybody. I had this ambition to become a New York Times bestseller. They were like, "Kid, you've never written a book. You've never written anything before. You think your first book is going to become a New York Times bestseller?" I'm like, "Yeah." They're like, "Why do you think that? What are you an entitled brat?" I go, "Oh, no. I'm going to earn it. But I'm not going to apologize for my dream." You don't have to justify your dream. You want to win an Oscar? You can win an Oscar. You want to win a Grammy? Go win a Grammy. You want to get that YouTube Diamond Award with the million followers? Go get it. You don't have to explain your ambition to people. And what happens is you feel like you have to. You feel like they have to understand. And so you make these things, all of your goals, about who you are, the relationships you can have, the things you can create. You make them smaller than you're capable of. And that's why many people are so miserable. Their potential activation, they're not activating towards their full potential. It would be very hard for anybody here to have an ambition that would be unrealistic. Maybe the finite achievement might seem unrealistic. For example, me playing in the NBA. Very unrealistic. But my ambition of being involved in the NBA? Could I be a team owner? Absolutely. Could I work for a team? Absolutely. Could I be the coach to some of the best NBA stars in the world? Absolutely. So the ambition, the finite thing, me dunking over, you know, LeBron James? Definitely not happening ever, unless we're like a celebrity event and he'll stand there and they'll let me put a ladder above it just to get the picture. That could happen. Possible. Totally possible. So see, even that ambition, not totally unlikely. I'm just here to say, you've got to change your ambitions. And if you won't change your ambitions for yourself, change them for your family. I grew up in a community where the ambition was to survive. Let me say that again. I grew up in a community where the ambition was to survive. That was it. It was to make enough money to pay the rent and put some food on the table. That was the whole ambition of the community I grew up in because the community I grew up in had, you know, been economically depressed for a hundred years. And so if I allowed that ambition that was around me to shape all my behaviors and my dreams, you and I wouldn't even be here together. You know, I had people who got in relationships and their ambition in their relationship was to just have somebody who cared for them. Didn't have an ambition for an exquisite, beautiful, intimate, passionate relationship together. And so the relationship never came into fruition. I've, I've lots of friends in my space who their ambition is, "Gosh, I wish I could get a thousand followers." And so they do just enough to get a thousand followers. But someone who wants a million followers does very different activity than someone who wants just a thousand. One day, that makes sense? It's the quality of ambition. And you might call this something else. Maybe you don't like the word because around the world, sometimes ambition, that sounds like the 1980s stuff, you know? But I'm here to say ambition might also sound like hunger, drive, necessity, motivation, big thinking, big dreaming, visionary stuff. Whatever you want to call it. How big you think of your life, of who you can become, what your relations could be like, and what you can create. That is dictating your next decade. So I'm here to tell you, you're at the beginning of a decade. Set those ambitions super, super high. I mean, really high.
Next up, I bet you could guess what the next thing would be because, hey, if you got all the ambition and you don't supplement it with daily action, we're toast. Because this person, the person with all the ambition without the person with discipline becomes the hopeless dreamer. The person with all the ambition but none of the action becomes the hopeless dreamer. The person who's always thinking big and visionary, but who never does anything. And because they never do anything, guess what? Potential activation. I'm going to keep coming back to over and over and over. They're unhappy because they're activating, they're not activating their potential. So here's my question. Think about your top five dreams you've already decided are important for you this year. The top five dreams you've decided are important for you this year. Okay? I want you, really, maybe write them down real fast. So, what are your top five? Top five things most important to you. Top five things most important to you. Got them? Write down your top five goals. Now, I'd like you to do for each of those things you wrote down is score yourself on a score of one to ten and in those areas of how much action you've already consistently been taking in that area. In...
The last four months. So some people say like this time of year, my health, Brandon, my health is going to be amazing, great, awesome. That's great ambition. I'm going to be a healthful person. Let's check your track record real quick. How has your health been the last four month? Four months. On a scale of one to ten? One terrible, you ate all the cake and all the food and you drank the house out of wine. Maybe not so good. Ten? You've been on your A game with your health. That's the difference between those who achieve the Big Dreams and those don't. It's the track record. See, when you have an ambition, the most important thing you need is a consistent momentum of action towards that thing. Cons I mean more consistent than you even think. And this is what I always, always tell people: I need you to touch your dreams every day. Every day. If your ambition is this, like I'm gonna run a marathon, okay, let's run every day. If your dream is oh, I'm going to achieve this thing, did you work towards every day? Right? I want to be on New York Times bestseller list. Did you write today? I need you to touch your dream every day. Otherwise you become the Hopeless Dreamer. You got to touch it every day. I don't mean that might be 10 minutes a day, that might be 30 minutes a day. Right now I'm only writing 30 minutes a day, but I'm writing 30 minutes a day. You follow? Your Ambitions must be matched by daily action. Your Ambitions must be matched by daily action. And what happens is so many people don't understand the power of rhythm and momentum. It is almost impossible to achieve anything of greatness without an unbelievable rhythm of action that has to take place almost every day. Some people, I mean the rare air people, they can do it, you know, once a week, once a month. Maybe they have like a burst of activity for 10 days and the rest of the days they were completely useless. Some people can do that, but very few. Einstein worked every day on the problems and the things that he was trying to solve, every day. Right? The great composers, every day. The great sports stars in every Arena, every day. It doesn't mean they never took a day off. It just meant in the culmination, if you looked at their month, it was like pretty much every day. And I know you know that, but listen, that's the difference in quality of life. That's the difference. It's a rhythm. Because we don't understand, here's what I always tell people: see, the universe kind of recognizes when you're in Rhythm and it will fall in line with your rhythm. If you're in homeostasis and you're stuck and you're not moving, the universe doesn't move you along. If you are moving along, the Universe goes up, look at him, look at her, she's moving along, let's get them moving along. It kind of matches your energetic output, if that makes sense, right? And that's why if you want to track great things in your life, you need to get action towards them. The more action towards the things you want to attract, the faster they get there. The universe speeds that process up. Perhaps the universe is not giving you what you want because, based on all your distractions and lack of discipline, it is simply unsure of what you are asking for. If the universe isn't sure what you're asking for based on your daily action, it doesn't know what to give you. I know you guys understand this. It's just so critical. Okay, ambition and action are the difference makers. What do you think the last one is? What would be the last one? You know it's going to start with an A. You see the alliteration happening here. The last one: your attitude. The attitude that you have as you deal with struggles of life, as you deal with the challenges, as you deal with the jerks, as you deal with the distractions, as you deal with the bad days. Your attitude. How personal development 101 is that? But man, I remember I was 19 years old. I was coming out of a time when I had been suicidal. I had started reading personal development and all these books said attitude, attitude, attitude. And I thought, that's the best they have to give? And I still keep coming back. I'm like, that's the best they had to give? Your attitude, as you've heard, determines your altitude. You ever heard that before? Your attitude determines your altitude. Lots of personal development people say that over time. Why? Because it's so true. You know, it's so easy to be in a funky mood. How many people do you know take a lot of action, have high Ambitions, like Big Goal driven people, take a lot of action, and they're like this all day, and they're frustrated all day, and they're jerks all day? Why? Well, probably because they wanted to create amazing things in their life, but they didn't have high ambition for their relationships, so they could treat people like crap. You see how all this ties together now? It's like, oh, well I want to be, I want to be really proud of myself. You know, when you take someone who has high ambition and high sense of being but no relating ambition, they become a narcissist, don't they? And so almost every malady we see in the human condition is somewhere in here, right? Someone who's a good person has relations but don't create anything in their life. They don't sense a sense of passion or contribution. They feel lost, even though they're an amazing, caring, giving person who takes care of others, keeps a positive attitude. They still feel lost because they don't know what they're trying to create each day. There's no sense of purpose each day, even though they're really great. So every everything that is really a struggle that you faced in the last decade, I promise you it's on this picture somewhere. It's there somewhere. So look at that deeply, grab your screenshot, hey, and I think that you will find that this can become really powerful. This explains almost everything you experience and feel in life. That's why we call it your primary aspiration. It's like these are your primary aspirations. These are the things that tell us whether or not you get ahead and make the quality difference in your life. Here we go, last framework of the day my friends, and I know you're gonna love this. I've got one, two, three, four, five, six. I got six big ideas to win the year but also the decade. Here we go.
Number one: most important thing that must happen, you must reclaim your life's agenda. You got to reclaim your life's agenda. Please, if you have not yet given yourself the gift of reading the motivation Manifesto, this is declaration number one. I always try to teach us declaration number one. The number one Declaration of Our Lives is to reclaim our life. Reclaim our life from other people's expectations. Reclaim our life from all these distractions. Reclaim our life when we took the wrong road. We did something we knew we weren't supposed to do. We did something we don't care about. We got stuck in an opportunity that isn't really right for us. Reclaiming it means changing direction. Reclaiming it means saying sorry, I know that's important to you, it's not important to me now. Reclaiming it means not 30 minutes browsing stuff that doesn't add value or train you for excellence in Mastery. People will say, well Brennan, don't you consume social media? I go yeah, I consume social media from influencers who are teaching me to be a better man. That's 100% of my social media consumption. I have no tags of cats. I have no my, that sounded flippant. My wife has tags of cats, sorry honey. I have no, I don't follow race cars and things and sweat. I don't follow any Brands. The only social media I do is consuming social media from people who are giving me ideas how to live a better life. Zero. That's it. That is how, for me, I stay on my A game, because social media can steal you, and now you're living to other people's expectations or you're trying to have that or that. Listen, I think reclaiming your life agenda is about a couple things, and I want to recap them. I just said them too fast. Number one: it's reclaiming it from other people's expectations. Are you doing what you're doing because somebody else told you to, but you don't love it? Are you doing what you're doing to serve somebody who isn't even aware or grateful to your service? Are you working a day doing a job that you don't even love, and you haven't told your boss, I'd rather do this thing than that thing? Did you start a business because you were passionate about it one time, but now you realize that's not my thing, but you're too embarrassed to quit because, well, Brendan, people know me for that, so I have to do that. That's what I'm known for. No one knows you. There's seven billion people on the planet. Every one of you can make a pivot right now. This is your time to Pivot. Do you have clients who suck and you're like, oh my God, I'm still working for this client who sucks after five years? This person still sucks, and I'm still taking money from them? Reclaim that. Stop giving your agenda, your time, your energy, your effort, your life's thrust to things that you are not passionate about, that don't align with your purpose, that don't bring you to life or develop you. Period. You. That's taking your life back. It's taking the reins back. You know, sometimes with depending on how advanced the audience is, when I teach this, this primary aspiration, I say that there's one overarching thing about even all of this, and it's this word: command. Is taking back command of our day, of our life. It's putting you back in control of the reins and yanking those back and saying, I'm in command. I'm going to take command back of my life. No longer am I going to hand over control to all these wannabes, to all this social media, to this person who's a jerk. Nope. My life again. And you know what? If you need to break some toes, do it gently, but move on. Some of you it's time to quit something. And reclaiming your life's agenda means you quit, means you leave, means you move. Some of you reclaiming your life agenda means starting something on the side to do something you're more passionate about now. I mean, how many of you guys think it's going to take a year to pull back the Reigns to your life? I mean, you got to really grow and develop this. Your self-mastery must be the priority of this year. And I think a big part of self-mastery is having the guts to make some decisions right now. You gotta make some real decisions in your career. You gotta make some real decisions in your marriage or the relationships that you have. You gotta make some real decisions about how you're gonna live your life, where you're going to live, how you're going to spend your time, your day. That's big stuff. That's reclaiming your life's agenda. Because your life's agenda is adding to something every day. Is time management. Is leading to an event horizon, right? All of it's going to lead to a certain type of character of who you are, a certain quality of relationships, a certain quality of career. I'm Telling You: Yank the Reigns back. Be ferocious about it. Take command again. I mean, get fired up about it. Like if you've been just going through the motions, it's because you're going through somebody else's motions. Got it? If you feel like life is hum drum, it's because you're living somebody else's life and it feels hum drum. You gotta steal back the reins. And sometimes you got to grab the reins from somebody else and yank them back, and you got to take control of that cart again. It's time to take command of your life. If you didn't do it last decade, for God's sake do it this decade. Please, because who knows how many decades we get. Life is short. And you don't want, listen, people only fear four things. Do you know that? People fear four things. Only four things. Number one thing they fear is ruin. You know, if I do this, if I take this action, Brendan, I'll be ruined. The business will fall apart, the relationship fall apart, all fall apart. I'll be ruined. People are terrified of taking any actions that will ruin them. Because of that fear though, they often don't take the next obvious step to improve their life, because they're worried what other people would think about it. Because that's the second big fear: rejection. I'm feared, you know, if I do this thing, it'll have to ruin me or they'll reject me. They won't like me. And because we're scared of rejection, we put up with other people's BS all the time, and we do what they tell us to do versus what we really want to do. The third thing that everyone fears is regret. And that's what I want to punch on right now. I don't want you to regret this next decade by staying in something you already know is wrong, that you've already contemplated. It's like no, if it's time for change, take command. Reclaim your life's agenda. And the fourth thing that people fear is responsibility. I know that sounds weird. People fear responsibility. They fear having more weight and pressure on their shoulders because we worry we can't handle it. And I think that's actually true for a lot of people, because they've never dedicated themselves to personal development at the highest levels. If you really want to gain self-mastery this year so you can handle life's problems.
Second big idea. Some of you guys saw me on social media about this recently. This is a big one: judge less, feel better. This week on my Instagram we wrote this out as a new hashtag. Hashtag judge less feel better. Emotional freedom. There's so much emotional weight and exhaustion in our current culture because of social media, but also it's how people live their lives. Like if you are constantly judging yourself, you feel terrible, especially if you're judging yourself in a negative way. But what's happening is social media has taught us to judge something in 15 seconds or less, in 60 seconds or less, in a hundred characters or less. And so you are constantly, all think about this. This is something humanity is missing right now. This action quick scrolling through has sped up the speed of our judgment. We are training each day to judge faster. You follow? We don't realize it. We are physicalizing rapid judgment in our culture. It's why I don't look at my phone very often. Think about that for a minute. We are physicalizing rapid judgment. The infinite scroll created a situation in which you are infinitely judging at faster pace. And as you judge at a faster Pace, it's come into your brain and you don't even know it. It's literally part of you now. You see her, judge in one second, you've judged her in a second or less, and it's gotten faster in the human brain because of our technology and our tools. But also, judgment leads to exhaustion. Judgment leads to exhaustion. That's why I say judge less, feel better. Please notice how often you are judging other people. Like I think one of the reasons I have great relationships, I don't judge people. Sometimes if they do an action that's not right or something, I'll call them out. I'm very explicit about that. But I don't judge a person's character. I don't like globalize and generalize about people because I think all of us are going through struggle and it's hard sometimes, and we don't all have our best days every day. And so I'm like, if you ever talk to a person who is forgiving, I'm that guy. I'm like so fast and forgiving. Because when I was 19 years old, I couldn't forgive a woman who cheated on me in a relationship, and then I couldn't forgive myself for actions that probably led to her cheating on me in the relationship. And so I hated myself and I hated her, and I held on that to the point I became suicidal. And I got it, I was like, if I don't learn to let go, I'm gonna be miserable or take my life. And so I developed this capacity. For me it was a spiritual capacity, by reading a lot of books in spirituality of like understanding that I have to forgive and I've got to let go. And so I've tracked, I've practiced for 20 years trying to do that. So if I get upset about something, I try to let it go super fast, acknowledge it, learn the next right action of Integrity, move on. But think about your relationships. I bet there's somebody in your relationship you're still angry about something they did five years ago, and you remember even when they don't, and you make sure to bring it up in a fight that's about the vacuum cleaner and it really turns into something that happened five years ago. And this stuff is bubbling up for you because you had this judgment and this reaction, this feeling, and you're still angry about it. That's why you don't feel better. The way to feel better is to find emotional freedom. The only path to Surefire emotional freedom begins at less judgment. You got to stop judging things so negatively, yourself and others. That's why I say judge less, feel better. Matter of fact, I told my social media Community, I said hey, next time somebody posts hate on a comment, like you post something and someone posts a hate reply, back to them: hashtag judge less feel better. How's that for the haters? I think this is the best response to haters in the history of the world. Hashtag judge less feel better.
Okay, third big idea. This is everything in my life, as you guys know. Prioritize energy. Prioritize energy. Must be the top three. It's got to be. I don't want to impose my things on you all. If I had a suggestion, my prioritization to you would be: number one self-mastery, number two energy, and number three quality relationships. To me, those three make the difference in everything else you see, experience, and do. Prioritizing energy. What do I mean by that? Well, today, is there an activity in your high performance plan or that you wrote down that's prioritizing your energy? Is it a 50 minute break? Is it a walk? Is it a meditation? Are did you already hit the gym? I think the most important thing is: are you prioritizing energy? But also notice, energy can be mental, physical, or spiritual. So your energy is your sense of energy each day, but you need to prioritize it. Next time you go to grab that crappy bag of food, ask: how will this serve me energetically? How will this serve me energetically? It's a trigger. I have everything I pick up, I'm like, how do I serve this? Like if you came to our house and look, we don't have any junk food. We don't even own sugar. I go to people's houses and they own bags of sugar, like bags of sugar. I'm like, what do you do with a bag of sugar? And it's like, it blows my mind. They're like, Brent, I'm a big, I'm a baker. I go, every day you need a 55 thing of sugar? No. I think it's really important prioritizing energy. Your whole sense of the last decade was energetic. Your memory is tied to energetic recall. Is how you felt. Like your sense right now of the quality of your life is based on your energy you feel right now. If all you get from me today, and we've done this every single year, and I hope you'll follow this because I've life transforming, life transforming messages from people every year. I challenge this group. I say: if you are above the age of 18 years old and you have not yet taken a year and said this year is going to be the most extraordinary year of health I have ever had, I mean you get the most fit I could possibly be in my entire life this year, if you've never given yourself that gift, because some people did it when they were in high school or they were gymnasts when they were in mid school or something like that, but very few people as an adult said, oh let me taste what actual incredible vibrant fitness and health feels like. If you've not done that as an adult, please do that this year. You will be stunned. Every year in December I get all these texts and these messages from people: oh my God, Brendan, I did your year of health and I can't believe it. So give yourself that gift. The best year of your health ever. If you've never done it, do it this year. If you've done it before and you liked it and you fell off the wagon, why not try again?
Okay, number four: be the role model. In everything we teach in hpx, it's about adopting the role model mindset. Would you do what you are doing if you were the role model? I think about this all the time. Some of you guys notice I don't swear in any of my YouTube videos. You know, hundreds of millions of hours, I'm sorry, hundreds of millions of views, tens of millions of hours of my content has been consumed almost without a single swear, unless it was part of a story of someone swearing. And I think that's really important for me, because to me, Role Models don't swear to kids, and that's my thing. And I share that to you because, and I'm not saying you guys are kids, but I have a ton of Youth and a ton of you are watching this with your families right now, and I'm aware of that. I'm aware your kids walk in and walk out when you're doing personal development, and I'm just I'm very highly sensitized to that. Now some of you don't care and you think it's funny when people swear, or well that's what gets my attention. If you have to swear to get people's attention, you need communication training. If that's your only gimmick, no. I think it's fine to swear. I'm not judging other people. I'm saying for me, I don't feel like I'm a role model if I do so. For me, I've identified in every area of my life what would make me a role model. So in your career, what would make you a role model? And I mean that specifically. I want you to write this down: what would make me a role model is, and write it down. Your dad, your mom. What would make me a role model parent is. What would make me a role model mom? What would make me role model dad? You're an influencer. What would make me a role model influencer is? And what's going to come up for you is your values. It might not be like mine. That's why I started with my life. Like for me, it wouldn't be part of my role modeling is not swearing. Other people's are though. So it's not important for you to understand everyone else is. What's yours? What would make you a role model in your career, in your industry? And here's the deal: if you don't know that answer, don't pretend you're a high performer, because you haven't been moving towards it. If you don't know the answer. If you know the answer, you've been moving towards it. If you don't know the answer, but I really believe why do you commit to self-mastery? Why the your mastery? Because watch this y'all: being the role model. And look at that top are being goals. We all want to be proud of who we are and congruent with the best of Who We Are. And if you just had a year or several years where you weren't congruent with the best of Who You Are, I'm here to tell you that has a lot to do with whether or not you had personal development and self-mastery training. And I don't say that self-serving. I say that because when I was in my 20s, that whether or not I was a role model or congruent with who I was was completely tied to whether or not I was consuming, reading, researching and training on personal development. Every year of my life that I pulled away from reading personal development, every month of my life where I wasn't getting the cues of personal development, I degraded in how good of a person I was. I really did. I don't mean I became a horrible person. I mean it knocked down a notch, right? Because sometimes it's that reminder and that training, as you always hear me say: common sense is not always common practice. And that's why so many people who could achieve extraordinary things don't achieve it. They don't have the prompts, they don't have the community, they don't have the teachers, the mentors. They have a big idea. Here, let me recap where I've been. Number one: you got to reclaim your life's agenda. Make the hard choices. Make those difficult decisions. Friggin this week. Let's go. Number two: judge less feel better. Says it all right there in one hashtag. Judge last feel better. Number three: you gotta prioritize energy. Build energy this year. Eat in a way that energizes you. Work out in a way that energizes you. Work in a way that energizes you. Like decorate your house in a way that energizes you. Think of everything you're doing in your life is adding to or taking away from your energy. The more you add to it, the more life feels like that vibrant zesty pop that you really want. Number four: be the role model. Be the role model by knowing your values and living them. Be congruent with the best of who you are. Activate your full potential. And last thing I didn't say on this one: being the role model. Listen, when they go low, you go high. If you got somebody in your life who's being a jerk, you be the better person. That's what being the role model is. If somebody is treating you like crap, you be the better person. Don't engage in that fight. Don't play to their level. Go above it. Live Your Truth, your values. Be that honest positive person you are proud of. Disengage from that relationship if you have to. Have the explicit difficult conversation if you have to. But be the role model. What would the role model do? If a decade future you flew back to today and told you how to be a role model this year, what would they tell you?
Number five: I know this is so basic, but most people don't do it. You got to track your goals and integrate your wins. These go hand in hand. You have to do them both. Track your goals. Integrate your wins. How do you track your goals? By just writing them down. Like writing them down is the first step to tracking them. Okay, the daily planner of the full version of high performance planner will help you get that daily score card for your habits, which is important. The second part though is integrating your wins. Integrating your wins doesn't mean celebrating your wins. Celebrating your wins is important. More important than celebration though is integration. Integration means: when you do something good, you sit there at the end of the day and you pull that good thing into your heart. You give yourself acknowledgment and joy and pride for having done a good thing, and you let it strengthen your identity. So many people are let's say lacking confidence in their life, even though they've done amazing things, even though they're a good person. Why? Because they never took the time to pull that into their heart, and they never took the time to integrate the good things they did into their heart. So they don't feel like a good person. They achieve some amazing things that were like they had to work really hard for, and they worked really hard for it, they achieved it, and they said next, and they never took a time to drink that in and integrate it. So they don't feel strong. They're 45 years old and they don't feel like a strong, capable human. They still doubt themselves all the time, even though they got a hundred times they worked hard and they made something happen. They achieved 100 projects, but they never integrated those projects in and said, whoo, I did that. I'm confident now. Look at me. Good job. I'm capable. I'm worthy. I proved it. I showed it. Integrating it. Went so track the goals, put them down, and when you get them done, sit and meditate on it. Give thankful prayer on it. Allow it to come into your heart and strengthen your identity. Like my identity is Rock Solid because I always did that. And I had to learn to do that. I had to learn that as a spiritual principle. And I had to learn to do that just to make it through the day of the number of challenges on my plate, the number of businesses we run, the number of Team, the number of things I'm trying to accomplish and achieve in this world. If I didn't take a moment to allow myself to feel all those wins, I'd be a high achieving, exhausted, bitter man. Because if you don't integrate it, it feels like it's never enough. So I know I'm speaking to some high performers right now. You don't feel like it's never enough. You're always like, it's never enough. It's never enough. It's never enough. It's because when it was enough and you achieved something, you didn't integrated. You don't feel fulfilled because you didn't integrate all the good things that already happened. So you're chasing an endless loop. The next 10 big things aren't going to make you feel good if you don't allow yourself to feel good after each one. I know you know what I'm talking about. It's really important. It's really important. I want you to have a greater sense of fulfillment in your life. You know, greater connection, Greater Joy, greater contribution. But also fulfillment. Because what if this was our last year? Wouldn't we want to end the year feeling fulfilled with life? Not hoping one day to have something, but feeling fulfilled already. I think that's important.
Last big thing, and I preference this but a little bit: you got to commit to Mastery this year. And I'm not just talking about my program. I am talking about my program, but I'm also talking about your commitment to Mastery. What would make you an excellent parent? What would make you an excellent leader? What would make you a master of your industry, of your domain? And specifically, what skill sets must you learn and train on and master this year? What do you have to learn, train on, and master this year? Like Mastery in something demands that you do it every single day with great attention to intention and detail. Mastery cares about the details of getting it right and doing it well. Mastery cares about Excellence. How do you do everything? How do you do your videos, your social media better? How do you do your audio better? How do you do your Live cast better? How do you do your planners better? How do you do your books better? How do you do team leadership better? How do you do business better? How do you do influence better? You got to figure these things out. You must learn that your commitment to Mastery is already evident. What do you mean by that? It's already evident. Are you already pounding through the training? I mean, are you doing the training? Are you really getting the training you need to become an exceptional person? Or are you just browsing social media, listen to a podcast once in a while? I said earlier: if you've never committed to a year of absolute health, make that this year. I want to second that now. If you've never committed to a year of absolute Personal Mastery, make that this year. If you have never done deep dive hardcore training in personal development, I think it's important that you have world-class training in personal development. Not read a book here or there. Not a podcast when you run or at the gym. Training podcasts or entertainment. Training is curriculum-based, framework driven, researched backed content. That's what I made my entire career based on. Like I'm the guy who did all the research for you. I compiled it. We tested it in the lab. I tested it in front of thousands and thousands of people and literally billionaire level coaching clients say do this, do this. It's been an honor to be with you. I can't wait to serve right next to you. Thanks everybody! [Music]
