The devil is bluffing. Read that again. Slowly. The devil is bluffing.
Every roar you have heard in the night, every threat pressed against your mind, every fear whispered over your body, every panic spoken over your finances, it is a bluff. And a bluff only works on one condition. It works while the person on the other side of the table does not know what cards he is holding.
I am not talking about positive thinking. I am not talking about pretending your problems away. I am not talking about working yourself into an emotional frenzy until you finally feel something. I am talking about a legal discovery. A truth E. W. Kenyon dug out of the pages of scripture almost a hundred years ago. A truth the modern church has largely laid down and forgotten.
Kenyon saw it clearly. The enemy's entire operation against the believer runs on one single assumption that you will never find out who you are. The moment you do, the whole bluff collapses.
Before we go one inch further, I want you to do something. Type one word in the comments right now. Type the word exposed. Because that is exactly what is about to happen to the lie that has been holding you down. Type it. And let it be your first act of agreement with the truth.
Right now, there are believers on their knees who have done everything right. And they are still losing. Right now, there is a woman who has fasted until she is weak, who has cried until there are no tears left in her, who has rebuked and bound and pleaded and begged, and the mountain has not moved one inch. Right now, there is a man who loves God with everything in him, who prays harder than his own pastor, and who still lies awake at 2:00 in the morning with fear sitting on his chest like a stone. Right now, there are believers who have memorized more scripture than most preachers will ever quote out loud. And they are still being pushed around by an enemy who has no right to touch them. They are sincere. Nobody could question their sincerity. They mean every single word, and they are still defeated, still sick, still broke, still afraid.
And here is the diagnosis that is going to set some of you free tonight. The problem is not that the devil is too strong. The problem is not that God is holding out on you. The problem is that you have been handed the most powerful weapon in the universe, and nobody ever taught you how to hold it. You have been fighting a defeated foe with your bare hands, while a loaded promise sat in your pocket the whole time.
Let me expose a lie that has weakened the American church for generations. The lie is that the devil has power, real power, force, that when he threatens your body, there is muscle behind the threat, that when he speaks lack over your finances, he can actually enforce it, that when he presses fear into your mind, he is holding a weapon that can truly wound you. It is a lie. He has no power. He has only legality. He has only what you grant him by your agreement.
Jesus said it plainly, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Luke 10:19. Read who holds the power in that sentence. You do. The serpent does not have power over you. You have power over the serpent. The entire con depends on getting you to believe it is the other way around.
E W Kenyon taught something that quietly shook the theology of everyone who heard it. He taught that redemption is not a feeling. Redemption is a legal document. He taught that Satan is not a fighter with superior strength. He is an accuser. A legal challenger. An outlaw operating on ground he no longer owns. Kenyon called the enemy a defeated foe. A squatter in a house that has already changed hands. A criminal who keeps mailing threatening letters after the verdict has already been rendered against him. And Kenyon taught that the believer is not a beggar hoping God might act. The believer is an heir. Enforcing what has already been done.
The entire relationship between you and the devil Kenyon said is a legal one. He has no authority he can take. He only has what he can trick you into signing over. And he does his signing with your own mouth. In the courtroom of your own mind.
So let me name it plainly. Because the title of this teaching is a promise. And I intend to pay it in full. The weapon that calls the devil's bluff is not louder prayer. It is not more tears. It is not a harder fast. The weapon is knowing who you are. It is your identity. Revealed and received. Dropped down out of your head and into your recreated spirit until it is more real to you than the bad report in your hand.
Here is the birth certificate of that identity. "Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17. You are not the old you, patched up and repaired. You are a brand new creation.
And listen to your new heritage, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world." 1 John 4:4. Greater is he that is in you, not equal, not almost, greater. The bluff only works until you believe that verse down in your bones.
Now, let me show you why this works. Because you need to understand the arena where the fight actually happens. It does not happen in the sky. It happens in the courtroom of your own mind. Scripture calls the enemy the accuser of our brethren, which accused them before our God day and night. Revelation 12:10. That is his job title, accuser.
Understand what an accuser is. An accuser is not an army. An accuser is a voice. He cannot force a verdict. He can only argue for one. He cannot make the ruling. He can only try to influence the one who does. And in the courtroom of your mind, you are the one holding the gavel, whether you have ever realized it or not. He is a prosecuting attorney with no real evidence, filing petition after petition in the courtroom of your conscience. Every condemning thought is a legal challenge. Every "you'll never change." Every "God won't come through for you." Every "look at your bank account. Look at your body. Look at your family." Those are not just feelings. Those are emotions filed before the bench of your own soul. And here is the terror of it. When you agree with the accusation, you rule in his favor. Your agreement is the gavel coming down.
So, the word of God hands you your written rebuttals. "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:5. You do not entertain the thought. You arrest it. You cast it down. And when he accuses, you answer with the verdict already on file. "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus." Romans 8:1. No condemnation. Case dismissed.
And over your body and your future, you hold up the ruling. "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn." Isaiah 54:17. The weapon may form. Scripture never promised it wouldn't form. Scripture promised it would not prosper. Do you see it now? Every accusation is only a question. And you are the one who answers. When you answer with the word, the accusation has nowhere left to stand. When you answer with your fear, you hand him the ruling he could never take by force. The gavel was always in your hand. He only wanted you to forget that you were the one holding it.
But here is where most believers lose the case they have already won. And Kenyon put his finger right on it. There is a difference between mental assent and covenant authority. And that difference is the whole ballgame. Mental assent agrees with the word. Covenant authority acts on the word. Mental assent reads the promise and nods. Covenant authority reads the promise and stands. Mental assent says, "I believe God can." Covenant authority says, "It is already done and I am enforcing it now." Mental assent says, "I hope he hears me." Covenant authority says, "The blood has already spoken and heaven has already ruled." Mental assent waits to feel different before it will speak. Covenant authority speaks first and lets the feelings catch up. Mental assent treats the promise like a wish it is sending up. Covenant authority treats the promise like a court order it is bringing down.
Mental assent prays about the problem. Covenant authority speaks to the problem. Mental assent begs the Father for what he has already given. Covenant authority thanks the Father and takes possession of it. Mental assent collapses the moment the symptom returns. The moment the bill arrives, the moment the fear knocks, covenant authority does not flinch because it was never standing on how it feels. It was standing on what is written.
This is why so many believers can quote the verse and still see no results. They have the vocabulary of victory without the ownership of it. They agree with the document. They have never once enforced the document. Mental assent is a man who owns the deed to a house and keeps knocking on the front door begging to be let in. Covenant authority is a man who reads the deed, pulls out his key, and walks in like the owner he already is.
And the way you enforce it is with your mouth. The covenant is voice activated. "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Proverbs 18:21. Life and death, both of them are placed into the hand of your tongue. You are eating every single day the fruit of the words you have been speaking. And salvation itself came the very same way. "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:10. The heart believes, the mouth confesses. The word there is homologeo. It means to say the same thing. To say the same thing God says. Confession is not begging God for something new. Confession is agreeing out loud with a verdict already rendered.
This is what Kenyon meant when he said the word must be eaten, not merely read. A verse you have only read stays in your head as information. A verse you have eaten becomes part of you. It rises up in your spirit and comes out of your mouth under pressure without you having to go searching for it. And when you speak that word, something moves that you cannot see. "Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word." Psalm 103:20. The angels hearken to the voice of his word. And when his word is in your mouth, his word is still his word, no matter whose lips are carrying it. That is why the enemy attacks your confession harder than anything else you own. He is not afraid of what you believe silently. He is terrified of what you say out loud. He will fight to pull one contradicting sentence out of you, because he knows your tongue is the trigger.
But why does any of this carry weight? Why does the accuser have to fold the moment you enforce it? Because underneath every single promise is the blood. Kenyon would not let you rush past this. He taught that nothing has legal weight in heaven or hell without the blood. "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission." Hebrews 9:22. No blood, no remission. No covenant, no case. But the blood was shed, and now the scripture says that blood is not silent. "But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel." Hebrews 12:24. The blood speaks right now. It is testifying on your behalf in the highest court there is. And it never once stops talking.
And here is how the victory actually reads. "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony." Revelation 12:11. Read it again. They overcame him, the accuser, by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. Both. The blood is what makes it legal. The word of your testimony is what enforces it. The blood without your confession sits there unused. Your confession without the blood is just noise. Put them together and the accuser has no move left to make.
Now, let's get intensely practical because a weapon you never draw defends nobody. A sword left in its sheath has never won a single battle. The word of God is called the sword of the Spirit. And a sword only works when it is drawn and used. So, here is how you draw it in the ordinary moments of an ordinary week.
Number one, before your feet hit the floor in the morning, declare who you are, not who you feel like. Say it out loud. "I am a new creation. Old things have passed away. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world." You are not asking for a good day. You are setting the verdict over your day before the enemy can file a single motion.
Number two, when sickness comes and lays its claim on your body, do not beg. Stand. The believer takes the promise. "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." 1 Peter 2:24. And declares it as settled. Standing on that word while walking wisely and never despising the help and the wisdom God provides. Say it. "By his stripes I was healed. And my body will line up with the verdict."
Number three. When fear knocks in the middle of the night answer it with the document. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7. Fear did not come from God. So fear has no legal residence in you. Say it out loud. "Fear, you are trespassing. And I evict you in the name of Jesus."
Number four. When condemnation comes when the accuser drags up your past and reads the old charges against you refuse to take the stand for him. "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus." Romans 8:1. That case was closed at the cross. You do not relitigate a case the blood already won. Say it out loud. "I am the righteousness of God in Christ. And the accuser has no more evidence against me."
Number five. When lack presses in and the numbers do not add up you do not confess the numbers. You confess the covenant. "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19. Your need is real. But your source is not your job and it is not your account. Your source is his riches and glory. And that vault does not run dry. This is not a promise to make you rich. It is a promise to supply you. There is a difference. And the covenant guarantees the second one.
Number six, learn to decree. Not merely to wish. "Thou shalt also decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways." Job 28:28. A wish looks up and hopes. A decree looks out from a seated place of authority and establishes. You are an heir. Start speaking like one.
But there are three mistakes that will neutralize this weapon in your hand. And you have to see them clearly. The first is the double confession. This is where a believer declares the promise at 9:00 in the morning and contradicts it by 9:15. You say, "By his stripes I am healed." And then you turn to a friend and say, "But honestly, I feel like this thing is going to take me out." You have just filed two opposite testimonies in the same court. You cannot enforce a verdict with a divided mouth. Pick one confession and hold it. Say the same thing God says. And then keep saying it when your feelings vote against you.
The second mistake is having the vocabulary without the ownership. This is citing the word without ever grasping the covenant behind it. You can quote the verse like a parrot and still be a beggar in your heart because you never truly understood that the blood already purchased what you are asking for. Do not just memorize the promise. Own it. Know that it is legally, covenantally yours before you ever open your mouth.
The third mistake is waiting for the crisis to pick up the weapon. Too many believers only reach for the word when the storm is already sitting on top of them. And then they wonder why it feels rusty and slow in their hands. Kenyon understood this like a soldier. A soldier who cleans his weapon every day is always ready when the fight comes. Your confession is not an emergency tool. It is a daily discipline. You maintain your standing before the attack. Never in the panic of it.
So, right now, wherever you are, I want you to place your hand over your heart. If you are driving, just lay it there when you safely can. And say these words out loud. Not in your head. Out loud. Because the covenant is voice activated.
"It is written, 'I am a new creature in Christ. Old things are passed away. And all things are become new.' 2 Corinthians 5:17."
"It is written, 'Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.' 1 John 4:4."
"It is written, 'No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper.' Isaiah 54:17."
"It is written, 'My God shall supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.' Philippians 4:19."
"It is written, 'There is now no condemnation to me. For I am in Christ Jesus.' Romans 8:1."
"It is written, 'God has not given me the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.' 2 Timothy 1:7."
"I am not a beggar. I am an heir. I do not fight for victory. I don't force it."
And now to the accuser himself, Satan, I serve you notice today. The blood has spoken. The verdict is rendered. And I am here to enforce it. You have no legal ground in my life. No legal ground in my body. No legal ground in my finances. No legal ground in my mind. And no legal ground in my family. Your bluff is called. Your threats are exposed. Gather up your accusations and go. The case is closed.
Because here is the truth this whole teaching stands on. The war is over. You are not fighting toward a victory that might arrive someday. You are standing on a victory that was already won 2,000 years ago. "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it." Colossians 2:15. He already disarmed them. He already dethroned them. He already paraded them defeated in front of all creation. That is past tense. Finished. Settled. Done.
The devil is not holding a weapon behind his back. He is holding a bluff. And now you know it. Every attack on your mind, your body, your finances was built on one assumption that you would never find out who you are. Well, now you know. And the moment you know, the entire bluff collapses. It is finished. Not "it will be finished." Not "it is being finished." It is finished. And you are simply the one walking in the good of what was already accomplished for you.
So, here is what I want you to do before you go. Down in the comments, type this phrase, "The bluff is called." Type it and mean it. And then, right underneath it, type a second phrase, "I enforce the victory." Let your testimony be recorded. Because the enemy cannot stand a mouth that agrees with heaven.
