I've had a lot of comments recently that all the work I've put into my home has not been a smart investment. Well, I thought I'd explain a little something.

We own the lot our double wide is on. We disconnected the water from the trailer park and put in a private well. So, the lot is ours. We've got private water, which means I can use as much or as little as I want. This also means I can control what I do on my lot. I got big plans. I'd love to have some sort of garage or like carport, even something to park my cars under. Since the original carport was converted into the space that connected the basement stairs to the double wide, so we lost that parking area, I'd really like to replace it.

And when we first moved here, we definitely didn't think it'd be our forever home. But now with all the work we've done, I don't know how I could ever leave. So, was it a good financial investment? I'm not sure. I guess we won't know until I try to sell it, if I ever want to sell it.

But the way I look at it is this is where I live now, and I'm making it as great as I possibly can. So, in this moment, I feel like it's a great investment. I've got a vegetable garden. I got a little Intex pool in the back. Once you walk through the front door, it feels like a brand new construction home. It might look 50 years old on the outside, but definitely not on the inside. Though it feels like a good decision.
