Some glad morning when this life is over, I am going to fly away. The resurrection and the hallelujah. He that dieth yet shall he live, and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Man that is born of a woman hath but a few days and is full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower and is cut down. He fleeth also as a shadow and continueth not. We brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
The Lord is my light and my salvation; of whom shall I be afraid? Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, O Lord, thou hast searched me and known me. Thou knowest my down-sitting and my uprising; thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
If I say, "Surely the darkness shall cover me," even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee, but the night shineth as the day. The darkness and the light are both alike to thee. For thou hast possessed my reins; thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are thy works, and that my soul knoweth right well.
My substance was not hid from thee when I was made in secret and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand. When I awake, I am still with thee.
Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God; depart from me therefore, ye bloody men. For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain. Do I not hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? And am I not grieved with those that rise up against thee?
Amen. You may be seated. We welcome you, and God bless everyone to the celebration of life of Mr. Frank Tyson. Since I said this was a celebration, let's just take a couple of seconds to put our hands together and celebrate the life of Mr. Frank Tyson. You know, God has a purpose for everything, and we thank God for Brother Frank Tyson. Because of him, we are all here today.
We want to thank all of you that are here to show your support for Frank Tyson's family and friends. We're going to move on with our service. First, we will have our invocation by Reverend Eric G. Howard, followed by our scripture reading from the Old Testament by Reverend Dr. Walter J. Arrington, and our New Testament reading by Pastor Gregory Reeves, followed by prayer in that order.
Excuse me, let us pray. King of glory, God Almighty, Creator and keeper of all the world, we come before you this morning realizing that you are in control, that you are the lifter up of our heads, and that you are the storehouse of everything that we need. Though we come before you with glory, honor, and praise, thanking you for the life of Frank Eugene Tyson, we also come before you because we have great need of thee today. For our hearts are filled and heavy with grief and sorrow, frustration, and fatigue because yet another, yet another, yet another is gone too soon.
So we set our gaze upon you, Lord, one who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. We set our gaze upon you, Lord, one who has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. We set our gaze upon you, Lord, one who comes close to the brokenhearted. We set our gaze upon you, Lord, placing the burden of this Tyson family at your feet. We set our gaze upon you, Lord, asking, O God, that you would uphold them in your spirit, that you would keep them in thy care, O God, and that you would anoint them with the healing that comes only from your unfailing love.
In the name of Jesus, touch them right now. In the name of Jesus, lift up their spirits right now. In the name of Jesus, give them strength, give them hope, and allow us all to be renewed from having encountered your presence in this place today, Lord. Lord, send your power, send your peace, send your justice, and please, God, send your help, for our need for you is great. In the name of the great Bishop of our souls, the Chief Shepherd of our spirits, the glorious, liberating, inimitable name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, we pray. Amen.

Our scripture lesson today is found in the Book of Job, chapter 14. "Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower and is cut down. He fleeth also as a shadow and continueth not. And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one and bringest me into judgment with thee? Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one. Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee. Thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass. Turn from him that he may rest till he shall accomplish as a hireling his day.
For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth and the stock thereof die in the ground, yet through the scent of water it will bud and bring forth boughs like a plant. But man dieth and wasteth away; yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he? As the waters fail from the sea and the flood decayeth and drieth up, so man lieth down and riseth not till the heavens be no more. They shall not awake nor be raised out of their sleep.
O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret until thy wrath be passed, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time and remember me. If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait till my change come."
This is the word of the Lord. Praise the Lord, everyone.
Our New Testament scripture reading will be from the Book of Romans. I'll be reading chapter 8, verse 35 and verses 37-39. "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Verse 37: Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
And the church said, "Amen."
Again, we want to thank everyone for your support. You want to know what this means? They've always said, "Where there is unity, there is strength." And I see today a unified front. Those again that have come here to support Mr. Frank Tyson and his family.

Well, praise the Lord, everybody! I know it's a solemn event; I get it. It's a funeral, but God is still good! Oh, come on, somebody! God is still good in the midst of this! He's still good! Come on, somebody in the house! He's still good! Come on and shake yourself this morning! He's still good! I'm sorry, but he's still good! He's been just not good, but he's been better than good! And in the midst of this, I think we just owe God a praise! If we can just give God a praise right now! Come on, you can do God better than that! You can do God better than that! You can do God better than that! Hallelujah! Come on, somebody! Let's give God praise in the house!
I just want to praise you forever and ever and ever for all you've done for me. Blessings and glory, they all belong to you. Thank you, Jesus, for blessing me!

I just want to thank you, Jesus, for blessing me! Is anybody in the house blessed today? We say, "Lord, I thank you for blessing me!"
At this time, we would like to recognize some of our dignitaries and guests that are here. I saw we had a couple of Kansas City officials, a couple of our councilpersons. We want them to stand. I believe the second ward and fourth ward are in the house. Amen! They represent our community.
Also, all the clergy that have come to support the Frank Tyson family, we're asking all clergy to stand if you're in the house, please.

See, this is what I'm talking about—a unified front that we've come together. We also have those who did a lot of the groundwork in the city as we were preparing for this. We have the NAACP, our local chapter. Their president, Hector McDaniel, is here. I'm asking him to stand.
And also anyone from the Greater Stark County Urban League, Thomas West, CEO and president, we're asking them to stand. These gentlemen had a lot to do with us bringing our forces together. The mobilization in the city of Canton, Ohio—Canton, you should be proud of yourself for what we are showing the nation that we can do when we come together! Thank you so much!
Now we have special remarks from Pastor Marcus Martin of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church from Columbus, Ohio. He will come in his own way. Amen!
Amen! I'm going to do what the family asked me to do, and that's the gift of song. We have those who are certainly pastors and clergy here, and certainly, uh, the tournament from his team and Reverend Sharpton will handle those necessities. Amen!
And we want to do what's best and get out of the way so that we can move forward this moment. But we do suggest and agree that God is still good! Come on, let's say amen!
