Well, hallelujah. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Praise God forevermore. Amen. Amen. Amen.
Let's just lift our hands and thank him for his goodness. Glory to God. Father, we thank you tonight for your precious, holy, written word. We thank you for the privilege, the honor, the joy that we have not just to be hearers of the word, but doers of the word. James 1:22 tells us, "Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."
Lord, we thank you that as we open the scriptures tonight, the entrance of your word gives light. Psalm 119 to 130 says that. And Father, we thank you that as we hear your word, as we act on your word, as we speak your word, we become recipients of everything that your word has promised and provided. We thank you for the Holy Ghost. Thank you for giving us utterance tonight in the Holy Ghost. As Peter said in 1 Peter 4:11, we will speak as the oracles of God. And Father, we purpose right now before we ever see a thing happen to give you all the praise, all the honor, and all the glory for everything that's wrought in our midst in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah.
Now, say this out loud with me. For the Lord is good and his mercy endures forever. Say it again. The Lord is good and his mercy endures forever. One more time. The Lord is good and his mercy endures forever. Amen. Psalm 136 says, "His mercy endures forever 26 times." So, I believe we can say it at least three. Aren't you glad his mercy doesn't run out next week? Aren't you glad it doesn't expire at the end of the month? Amen. His mercy endures how long? Forever. Glory to God.
Now, tonight we're going to look into something that will change the way you see yourself, the way you see sickness, the way you see God's will for your body. We're going to open the word and find out what God says about every sickness named in the Bible, and why you, child of God, are already free from them. Because listen, if God's word is true, and it is, then freedom doesn't start when the symptoms are gone. Freedom starts when you believe what he has already said. Amen. Hallelujah.
All right, take your Bibles and turn with me to Galatians the 3 chapter 13 and 14. Let's get right into the foundation of this truth. Galatians chapter 3 verse 13 and 14. I want you to see it with your own eyes. I could quote it. I've quoted it thousands of times, but I want you to read it because your faith doesn't rest in what Brother Hagen says. Your faith rest in what God said in his word. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. For it is written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree, that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the spirit through faith.
Now notice that little word there hath. Not going to, not someday, not when you get to heaven, not when you've been sick long enough to impress God. No. The King James says, hath redeemed us. Past tense. We would say in our modern English, he has redeemed us. That means it's already done. And glory to God. You see, this isn't a promise. This is a fact. Promises look forward to something God will do. Facts declare what God has already done in Christ. Amen.
Now, somebody says, "Well, Brother Hagen, what exactly is the curse of the law?" That's a good question, and we're going to answer it. The expression the law here refers to the first five books of the Bible. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. And the blessings and the curses of that law are most clearly laid out in Deuteronomy chapter 28. We'll go there in a minute. But I want you to notice if sickness is part of the curse and Christ has redeemed you from the curse, then now get this. He has redeemed you from sickness. And if poverty is part of the curse and Christ has redeemed you from the curse, then he has redeemed you from poverty. And if spiritual death is part of the curse, and it is, he has redeemed you from that, too.
Now, I know some folks get nervous when you say that. They say, "Well, you're just trying to get people's hopes up." Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing because hope is the blueprint for faith and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17. Let's say it together. Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. Again, Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. One more time, but this time make it personal. Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. Therefore, I am redeemed from sickness. I am redeemed from poverty. I am redeemed from spiritual death. Glory to God.
Now, if you're redeemed from something, that means it has no legal right to stay on you. Oh, it may try to hang around. It may knock on your door. It may try to get back in. But you've got the legal document right here in Galatians 3:13:14 that says you are free. Amen.
Now, to really understand this, we need to go look at that curse. Let's turn over to Deuteronomy the 28th chapter. And I'm going to show you right from the word why every sickness named in the Bible falls into that category of curse. and why your healing isn't something you're waiting on God to do. It's something you enforce by faith. Amen.
Now, here in Deuteronomy chapter 28, let's start with verse one. And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe, and to do all his commandments, which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth, and all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. I like that. Blessings that overtake you. Amen. You're not chasing them. They're chasing you down.
Now, let's read a few. Verse three. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Verse four, blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, that's your children, and the fruit of thy ground, that's your work, your business, and the fruit of thy cattle, your resources, your livelihood. Verse six, blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and bless shalt thou be when thou goest out. Ben dome. Verse seven, the Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face. They shall come out against thee one way and flee before thee seven ways. Glory to God. That's the blessing. And I can keep reading, but the point is God's plan was always for his covenant people to live blessed spiritually, physically, financially, emotionally. That's the blessing side.
Now, let's look at verse 15. There's a shift here. But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, that all these curses shall come upon thee and overtake thee. And what follows? Poverty, defeat, fear, and listen to me now, sickness, and disease in many forms. Verse 21, the Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee. Verse 22, consumption, fever, inflammation. Verse 27, boils, tumors, itch. verse 28, madness, blindness, astonishment of heart, and on and on. We'll name them all in the next section. But here's the point. In the same chapter, God shows us his will in two pictures, blessing and curse. Healing is in the blessing. Sickness is in the curse. And now, Galatians 3:13 tells us Christ has redeemed us from the curse. If that's true, and it is, then sickness has no right to you, just like sin has no right to you. The same blood that saved you is the blood that healed you. Amen.
It's amazing. People will fight you over healing, but never fight you over salvation. Why? Because they've heard salvation preached over and over until they believe it. Well, faith for healing comes the same way by hearing it and hearing it and hearing it again. Amen. And before we finish tonight, I want you to see with your own eyes every sickness God names in his word as part of the curse. So that you'll never again wonder, is this God's will for me? If it's in the curse, it's not his will. And if it's not his will and Christ has redeemed you from it, then you can resist it in the name of Jesus and walk free. Amen.
Now, let's walk through this chapter and name these things one by one. Why? Because I want you to see exactly what God calls part of the curse. So you can know without a shadow of a doubt that Christ redeemed you from it. Deuteronomy 28-21, the Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee. Now remember in Hebrew, this verb form can mean permit, not cause. God permits it when people break covenant, but he's not the author of sickness. He's the deliverer. Amen. Pestilence, what is that? Widespread infectious disease. In our day, it could mean outbreaks, epidemics, pandemics. It's in the curse.
Verse 22, consumption. That's an old word for what we would call tuberculosis. But it also refers to wasting diseases, conditions that cause the body to steadily decline. Then fever, we all know what that is. Inflammation covers a whole host of conditions. Arthritis, infections, internal swelling, all of that is under the curse.
Verse 27, boils, tumors, scurvy, and the itch whereof thou can't not be healed. Notice tumors. Some translations say growths. That includes cancers, lumps, abnormal swellings, all under the curse. Scurvy vitamin deficiency diseases, the itch skin conditions, chronic rashes, eczema, psoriasis, and it says, "Whereof thou canst not be healed," meaning by man's methods. But thank God, we have a better covenant based on better promises. Amen.
Verse 28, madness, blindness, and astonishment of heart. Madness refers to mental illness. Depression, anxiety disorder, schizophrenia, those are all part of the curse. Blindness includes partial or total loss of sight. Astonishment of heart means panic attack, sudden fear, and emotional instability.
Verse 35, the Lord shall smite thee in the knees and in the legs with a sore botch that cannot be healed from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head. That covers nerve disorders, degenerative joint diseases, varicose ulcers, skin cancers, top to bottom, head to toe, the curse can try to attack anywhere.
Now, here's the big one. Verse 61. Also, every sickness and every plague which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee until thou be destroyed. That's the catchall clause. It covers every condition you could name and every condition you can't name. If it's a sickness, it's included in the curse. That means, listen closely. COVID is in the curse. Cancer is in the curse. Diabetes is in the curse. Alzheimer's is in the curse. Lupus is in the curse. Every single thing the enemy could bring against your body is in the curse. And Galatians 3:13 says, "What? Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law." Glory to God. So if it's in the curse, it's no longer your property. It doesn't belong to you and you don't have to keep it. Amen.
Now, somebody says, "Brother Hagen, but the doctor said this is incurable." Well, God already said in Exodus 15:26, "I am the Lord that health thee." He didn't add except for the ones the doctors can't fix. No, he said, "I am the Lord that health thee." And Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever. If he ever healed one, he'll heal you." Amen.
Now, I want to camp here for a moment. Deuteronomy 28-61. Because if you don't get this verse, you'll think, well, maybe my sickness is different, maybe God allowed this one for a reason. Number, look at it again. Also, every sickness and every plague which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee until thou be destroyed. Remember what we've already learned in the Hebrew structure that bring means to permit. God is saying if you step out from under the covenant blessing, the curse is allowed to operate. But here's the good news. Galatians 3:13 says, "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law." That means this verse here, this catchall category has been wiped clean for you. Listen, that means if you can name it, it's in the curse. And if you can't name it, it's still in the curse. I don't care if it's got a name so long you can't pronounce it. If it's a sickness, it's covered here. And if it's covered here, it's part of the curse. And if it's part of the curse, Christ has redeemed you from it. Glory to God forever more.
You see, when Jesus hung on that cross, he didn't just bear your sins, though, thank God he did. He also bore your sicknesses. Matthew 8:17 says, "Himself took our infirmities and bear our sicknesses." Isaiah 53:4 says, "Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows." That word griefs in Hebrew means sicknesses and sorrows means pains. And verse 5 says, "With his stripes, we are healed." I've said it for years. If he bore it, you don't have to. If he carried it, you can drop it. You don't need to keep carrying what he already carried for you. So don't ever say, "Well, this condition is rare. Maybe it's not covered." No. Deuteronomy 28-61 settled it. every sickness, every disease, every plague, named or unnamed, is part of the curse. And Galatians 3:13 settled it. Christ has redeemed you from the curse. And I'll tell you something, when that truth drops from your head into your heart, the fight changes. You stop begging God to heal you, and you start resisting sickness like you'd resist the devil himself because it's all the same enemy. Amen. James 4:7 says, "Resist the devil and he will flee from you." That includes resisting sickness.
Now, that brings us to the next point. What the New Testament says about all this and how Jesus himself confirmed it. Let's go there now.
All right. Now, flip over with me to Acts 10:38. Oh, I love this verse. I quote it almost every time I minister on healing. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil. For God was with him. Now, stop right there. Who did he heal? All. How many is all? Well, all means all and that's all. All means. Amen. Not a few. Not the chosen lucky ones. All who are oppressed of the devil. Did you notice what the Holy Ghost calls sickness here? Oppression of the devil. Not oppression from God. Oppression of the devil. That means the author of sickness and disease is the same one who tempts you to sin. The same one Jesus came to destroy. 1 John 3:8 says, "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil." That includes sin, sickness, and every form of bondage.
Let's look at another one. Luke 13:10-16. Jesus is in the synagogue teaching, and there's a woman there who's been bowed over for 18 years. Couldn't straighten herself. Jesus calls her over and says, "Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity." lays his hands on her. Immediately she's made straight and glorifies God. Now the ruler of the synagogue got upset. Religious folks always get upset when God moves outside their box. He said, 'You ought to heal on the six days of work, not on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered in verse 16, "And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these 18 years, be loose from this bond on the Sabbath day?" Two things there. Jesus said, "It was Satan who bound her." That lines up perfectly with Acts 10:38, "Sickness is satanic oppression." He says she ought to be healed because she was a daughter of Abraham. That covenant right gave her a claim to healing. Now Galatians 3:29 says, "And if ye be Christ, then are ye Abraham's seed and hes according to the promise." That means if you're born again, you've got a covenant right to healing just like that woman did and more because your covenant is based on better promises. Hebrews 8:6.
When you put all that together, Deuteronomy 28 shows us sickness is in the curse. Galatians 3:13 says we're redeemed from the curse. Acts 10:38 shows Jesus healed all who were oppressed of the devil. And Luke 13 shows covenant people ought to be healed. It leaves no room for doubt. The problem isn't God's willingness. It's often our knowing. People can't have faith for what they don't know belongs to them. And that's why we're spending time in these scriptures because when you see it's legally yours, you'll start acting like it. Amen.
And that brings us to a question I get all the time. Brother Hagen, if all this is true, why do so many believers still live bound by sickness? Let's talk about that next.
Now, if the Bible is this clear, and it is, why is it that so many Christians still live bound by sickness, disease, and weakness? I'll tell you why. There are two main reasons, and both of them are in the Bible. Reason number one, lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6 says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." Notice it doesn't say sinners. He said, "My people, covenant people, born again people, people who love God, they can still be destroyed if they don't know what belongs to them. If you don't know sickness is in the curse, you'll never resist it. You'll just tolerate it." See, some Christians think, "Well, God's teaching me something through this sickness." Well, my dear friend, if God wanted to teach you something, he's smart enough to use the Bible and the Holy Ghost without having to use the devil's work. Amen. Psalm 107:20 says, "He sent his word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions." The word heals, sickness doesn't.
Reason number two, unrenewed thinking. Romans 12:2 says, "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." An unrenewed mind will talk you out of healing even while your heart is trying to believe for it. You can be saved in your spirit but still think like the world in your head. And as Proverbs 23:7 says, "As he thinkketh in his heart, so is he." I know this from my own story. After I was healed as a teenager, the devil would come back every night whispering, "You're going to be paralyzed again. You're gonna die young." I'd go to bed with that fear sitting by my pillow like a little dog night after night. And you know what? I was still preaching healing, but I was still bound by fear in my mind. Then one day, I saw in the word where sickness comes from, that it's satanic oppression, not a blessing from God. And the light of that truth drove out the fear. The day you see sickness for what it is, you'll stop putting up with it. You'll treat it like an intruder, not a guest. Amen. And friend, until you renew your mind with the truth of God's word, you can get healed in a prayer line, but lose it before you get to the parking lot because your thinking opens the door again. That's why we have to plant the word deep. Water it daily and let it take root till nothing can steal it from us.
Now, once you've got the knowledge of what belongs to you, the next step is to act on it, to walk in it every day. So, let's talk about how to receive and keep your freedom.
Now that you know the truth, and the truth is that every sickness is part of the curse, and Christ has redeemed you from it, you have to know how to receive that freedom and walk in it every day. Because healing isn't just something you visit in a moment of prayer. It's something you live in by faith.
Step number one, hear the word repeatedly. Romans 10:17 says, "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Notice it doesn't say, "Faith comes by having heard." Some people say, "Oh, Brother Hagen, I've heard that healing message before." Well, have you received it yet? Because if you haven't received it, you need to keep hearing it. Paul said in Philippians 3:1, "To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe." The more you hear it, the safer you are from the enemy's lies.
Step number two, confess the word out loud daily. Mark 11:23 says, "You will have what you say." Don't just think healing, say healing. If the devil can keep you quiet, he can keep you defeated. I tell folks all the time, if you're too embarrassed to say, "I'm healed." Then you're going to have a hard time receiving it. So get bold with it. Wake up in the morning and say, "According to Galatians 3:13, Christ has redeemed me from the curse of every sickness, and I receive my healing."
Now, step number three, act on the word. James 21:17 says, "Faith without works is dead." That doesn't mean you have to throw away your medicine or pretend you're not in pain. It means you take steps of faith that agree with God's word. If you couldn't bend before, start bending a little more today. If you couldn't walk far, take a few steps further. Do what you couldn't do before because acting on the word proves you believe it.
Now, let me give you a couple of testimonies here. I remember a missionary lady and her husband 25 years on the field and she was sick the entire time. Somebody gave her my little book, Redeemed from Poverty, Sickness, and Spiritual Death. She read it, believed it, and within a short time, she was well for the first time in 25 years, and her children who were born with afflictions were healed, too. Another man told me he was living on the streets, homeless, broke, sick, until he learned from the word that Christ had redeemed him. Within a year, he was completely healed, had a good job, and was prospering in business. You see, this works for anyone who will hear it, say it, and act on it. God's no respector of persons. Acts 10:34 tells us that, but he is a respector of faith.
And once you've received your healing, the next step is to guard it. Don't let the devil talk you back into sickness. That means breaking agreement with the curse once and for all. Let's go there.
Now, now listen to me. Once you know the truth, you have to make a firm decision in your heart. I will never again agree with the curse. See, agreement gives permission. Amos 3:3 says, "Can two walk together except they be agreed?" If you keep agreeing with sickness, talking it, claiming it as my arthritis or my diabetes, you walking in agreement with it. And what you agree with, you empower. Jesus said in Matthew 18:18, "Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." That means you've got authority to bind sickness and loose healing in your own life. But you can't bind something with your mouth while your heart is still embracing it. I remember telling folks, "Stop calling it your disease. It's not yours. Don't take ownership of what Jesus already bore for you." Isaiah 53:4 says, "He carried our sicknesses." 1 Peter 2:24 says, "By whose stripes you were healed." That's past tense. If you were healed, then you are healed. And if you are healed, it's not yours to keep anymore. I've had people tell me, "Brother Hagen, I guess this sickness is just my cross to bear." No. Your cross to bear is obedience. Persecution for righteousness sake, not the devil's oppression. Don't dignify sickness by calling it a blessing in disguise. The Bible never calls sickness a blessing. It calls it a curse. And curses are to be broken. So right now, say this with me out loud. I break agreement with the curse of sickness. I refuse to claim it. I refuse to keep it. I refuse to identify with it. I agree with the word of God. I am healed. I am whole. I am free because Christ has redeemed me. Glory to God. That's how you keep the door shut on the enemy by keeping your agreement with the blessing, not the curse.
Now, I want to take you into a moment of strong corporate confession because your words have power. And when we speak them together, it seals it in our hearts. Let's go there now.
Now, I want everybody, every person within the sound of my voice to say these things out loud, not in your head, not in a whisper. Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Your tongue is the pen that writes faith into your heart, and your words are the key that unlocks the door for God's power to work." Say this after me. Every sickness named in the Bible is part of the curse. Again, every sickness named in the Bible is part of the curse. Now, every sickness not named in the Bible is still part of the curse. Say it again. Every sickness not named in the Bible is still part of the curse. Now, we're going to make it personal. Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. Again, Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. Now, let's specify it. Christ has redeemed me from every sickness, every disease, every plague named or unnamed in the name of Jesus. One more. I am the healed of the Lord. Sickness has no right to my body. Healing belongs to me. I take it now. Glory to God. Hallelujah. That's not just positive thinking. That's Bible confession. Hebrews 4:14 tells us to hold fast our profession. That word means confession of faith. You say it today. You say it tomorrow. You say it when you feel healed. And you say it when you feel sick. You say it until the word in your mouth agrees perfectly with the word in your heart. And listen, when you speak in line with God's word, you're not trying to talk God into doing something. You're enforcing what he's already done in Christ. Amen.
Now, here's what I want to do. I want to challenge your faith to act on what you've been saying. Let's go to the faith challenge and call to action.
Now that you've spoken the word, I'm going to challenge you to put it into action. James 1:22 says, "Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." Here's what I want you to do. If there's a sickness in your body, I want you to write its name down on a piece of paper. If you've got a diagnosis, write it exactly the way the doctor wrote it. If it's just symptoms, write them down. Then I want you to take a pen and draw a big red line right through it and write across it in big bold letters. Redeemed. That's your faith act. That's you saying, "This thing is part of the curse and Christ has redeemed me from it." Every time the enemy tries to bring that fear back to you, go pull that paper out and say, "No, devil. see that redeemed. This has no legal right to me.
Second thing, for the next 30 days, I want you to read Galatians 3:13:14 every single day out loud. Don't rush it. Let it get inside you. Say it in the morning. Say it at night. Put it on your bathroom mirror. Put it on your refrigerator. Let it be the first and last thing you see every day. And then I want you to start doing something you couldn't do before. Just a little bit at first. If you couldn't bend over without pain, try bending. If you couldn't walk across the room, start walking. Every step, every movement, every action is your way of saying, "I believe I'm healed." And if you're watching this online, I want you to leave your testimony what God's doing in your body in the comments. Why? Revelation 12:11 says, "They overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony." Your testimony will inspire somebody else's miracle. Amen.
All right. Now, let's close this out with prayer and ministry. I want to join my faith with yours right now.
Now, bow your head and lift your heart toward heaven. Father, in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I thank you for every person under the sound of my voice, those here in this place and those watching from across the world. I thank you that Galatians 3:13 is still true today. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. I thank you that according to Deuteronomy 28-61, every sickness and every disease is under that curse. And I thank you, Father, that your word says in Matthew 8:17, "Himself took our infirmities and bear our sicknesses." And 1 Peter 2:24 says, "By whose stripes ye were healed." Now, in the name of Jesus, I take authority over every sickness, every disease, every pain, every condition that has touched these bodies. Satan, I command you, take your hands off God's property right now. I break the power of the curse over their lives. I lose healing. I lose wholeness. I lose strength into their bodies from the top of their head to the soles of their feet. Now, put your hand right where that sickness is. If it's your head, your heart, your knees, wherever it is, in the name of Jesus, I speak to that area. Be healed. Be whole. Be strong. Pain go, inflammation go, tumors dissolve, blind eyes open, deaf ears here, weak limbs be strong. Thank you, Lord. Hallelujah. For your healing power flowing right now. Glory to God. Lift your hands and thank him. Don't wait until you feel it. Thank him because his word says it. That's faith. Now say this after me. The healing power of God is working in my body now. I believe. I receive it. I take it by faith. I am healed. I am whole. I am free in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. Glory to God.
Now, don't just keep this to yourself. Tell somebody what God has done for you. Mark 5:19 says, "Go home to thy friends and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee. And as you testify, your healing will grow stronger and stronger. And remember, every sickness named in the Bible and every sickness not named is part of the curse. And Christ has redeemed you from the curse. So walk like it, talk like it, live like it. Amen. Hallelujah.
