So here's the difference between a real AI expert and a fake AI expert, and it has nothing to do with AI.
Someone just commented this on one of my videos talking about my master's degree and saying, "A master's in AI, that must be brand new." My friend, it is far from new. In fact, the term AI, artificial intelligence, was coined by a man named John McCarthy in 1956. He coined it specifically for a research workshop he was putting together where one of the research scientists working with him was called Claude Shannon, which I don't know if you recognize that first name. There's an AI named after him.
Stanford, MIT, CMU, and plenty of other colleges all had AI and machine learning courses by the 1970s. I got my master's degree from the University of Edinburgh, and they've been doing AI and machine learning since the 1960s. And most of that research is based on theorems proposed by a dude named Thomas Bayes back in 1763.
So does knowing any of that make you an AI expert? No, that still doesn't make you an AI expert. And maybe you are an AI expert in one of those fields, but are you an expert in business, computer science, entertainment? Your experience in AI only becomes valuable if you can apply it to somewhere that needs it. And you see, people are building agents that give you all sorts of answers, but in a world where answers are cheap, questions become valuable, and experts are the ones who can ask the right questions.
