With the brand new release of Claude Opus 4.6, the internet is going crazy, and with good reason. This new AI model is able to create entire digital products that we can sell for hundreds of dollars a day. So, in this video, I'm going to show you what the product is. We'll look at how much money it's making with proof, of course, and then we'll actually build it out live so you can see how to do everything using AI.
Now, people are selling these templates to use with Notion, and they're making thousands of dollars doing it. Even some of these newer listings that were only posted for sale a couple months ago are already making insane amounts of money. That's because historically, these templates are pretty hard to make. But today, I'm going to show you how we can create the exact same thing using AI. And considering these templates sell as digital products, it means that you make almost all profit after you subtract any marketplace fees.
But if you don't know what Notion is, it's a website and an app with over a 100 million users globally designed to help you organize your life and work. People use it for pretty much everything from managing work projects to anything study and school related to lifestyle and health, and pretty much anything that can be organized or planned. Notion helps you do it. I personally use it for managing all the businesses that I run and even planning out these videos that I'm making for you.
The problem is that Notion, especially for beginners, can feel a little bit complex. For example, you might want to use Notion as a habit tracker, but have no idea where to start or how to build one out in the first place, because these can get pretty complex. That's exactly why templates just like this one have paid versions that you can buy to save you all of the setup time and confusion.
For example, this second brain template is basically just designed to help you track your goals, projects, notes, and anything in between. It is selling on a platform called Gumroad, which is a popular marketplace for selling products like these templates. Now, this Notion template specifically has sold over 7,062 times at $79. That means that this simple Notion template has made over $557,000. Now, granted, this page doesn't show exactly when this listing was created or posted for sale, but if we assume that it was even posted 5 years ago, that would mean that it still made over $100,000 per year passively over the last 5 years.
Now, if we divide the amount of sales that they have by the amount of reviews they've gotten, you can see that they're getting about one review for every 26 sales they make. That means about 4% of customers ended up leaving a review. And that makes sense because not everyone who purchases is going to go and leave a review on that product. But we can use this calculation to figure out how much other templates are selling on the same platform.
If we apply the same logic to another product like this Notion student planner that has a bunch of different resources included inside of it and that has over 4,000 reviews, if only 4% of people who bought this listing left a review, that would mean that it sold over 112,000 times. And at $24.99, that would mean that this Notion template has made over $2.8 million. Now, just to be conservative, even if 100% of people who bought the product ended up leaving a review, that would still mean that they've made over $112,000 selling this template.
Again, there's no exact date on this page to tell us when it was originally posted for sale. But if I scroll down and I click on the account that uploaded this overview video, you can see that the account was created in September of 2023, or just under 2 and 1/2 years ago. So, it's safe to say that this specific Notion planner is making anywhere from $48,000 on the very low end all the way up to $1.2 million per year on the high end. Now, that's a big range, but regardless, it goes to show how much demand there is for a product like this.
And they aren't just selling on Gumroad. If we make a similar search for Notion templates on a marketplace like Etsy, you can see that there's dozens of similar listings that are all making sales. I use this Google Chrome plugin called Listing View, and it allows me to see product sales estimates below each listing on Etsy. And what you'll see is that some of these templates are insane and making a ton of money every single month.
For example, take a look at this Notion Life Planner. It's making over $3,600 a month and it was only posted for sale two months ago. That means it's a fresh product and it's already making sales. Now, I could keep going because there's a ton of these templates that all sell super well, but the cool part is that they all target different specific needs. Some of them are brand new and have already scaled to making thousands of dollars. Some of them are long-term evergreen steady sellers that have made tens of thousands of dollars and continue to sell to this month. And there's entire shops centered around selling this specific type of product. Like the shop that's selling this specific template is currently making an estimated $15,000 per month. And that's nearly all profit considering they sell digital downloads.
But now that you can see how well they're actually selling, how do we go about making these for ourselves using AI? The process is actually really simple. First, we need to identify what specific Notion templates are selling best and why. Then we can use Claude AI to plan and automate the process of actually building out these products for ourselves. And then we'll create a marketplace listing where we can actually post it for sale and hopefully make some money.
The first thing we have to figure out is what's selling and why. Now, I use a very simple system that's helped me sell over $2 million of digital products over the last 3 years' time. And it goes like this: Find a best-selling product. Pick one area to improve or pivot. Recreate, and post. So, the first step is to simply find something that's already working.
If we come back to Etsy, since I have this Listing View extension installed in Google Chrome, it shows me that this template specifically is selling four times better than all of the other listings that are posted in this shop. That's called the outlier score. And this life planner is estimated to make over $3,000 per month, and it was only posted 2 months ago. So, this could be a good reference product, but we still need to figure out what actually makes it good.
On this listing specifically, we can flip through the images to see what's all included and look for the reasons why buyers are buying it. But we could also scroll down into the reviews section and take a look at the reviews for this product and try and understand why people bought it or what they liked about it. This is all product research and it just helps us figure out what we could go build and what we could do differently when we do build out our own version.
We can also validate the niche even further by making a search for that broader niche in Etsy. This shows us a breakdown of the specific niche. So, there's only a few thousand other listings posted for sale. And the average listing targeting this niche is making around 23 sales per month, or around $495. That's definitely not bad considering that that's an average across all of these listings.
These ultimate Notion planners definitely tend to sell best. And they're kind of just a mashup of a bunch of smaller tools all combined into one. This one, for example, is selling every day and is making around $1,000 a month. You can see they've included a bunch of different types of pages in it. Anything from health and fitness to finance.
So, the way to create the most amount of value while being able to break into a market like this is to niche down and create a subset of tools that are still going to be super useful. So, if we wanted to start with a finance type product, one idea is to create a snowball debt calculator. If I make a search for that specific term on Etsy, you can see that the competition is still relatively low and all of the listings in this niche are making an average of $966 per month. So, I think that this is a good starting point to test out the AI. We can build out a single tool like this to sell on its own, and then we can also go and bundle it as a part of a bigger package like an ultimate planner.
So, the first thing I need to do is open up a new chat with Claude AI. And this is where we're going to generate a plan to create the document itself. Now, I went ahead and created this entire prompt. And if it's a little too long for you to copy, don't worry. I'll have all the prompts that I'm going to use in this video linked right below the subscribe button. So, you can grab them completely for free. There's no email, paywall, or anything.
A few things that are important about this prompt are: you want to tell it to focus on the functionality. You also want to tell it some constraints about how to actually build the page. I like reminding it to add things like visuals, since those are really helpful when you're actually using the product itself. And most importantly, tell it to ask you clarifying questions before creating the plan if needed. This gets Claude to ask you questions like this about what we're trying to build out before it starts. This is where the customization comes in and where the AI can actually help you create something unique.
So here you can see what debt types should be pre-built into the template. This gives us the option to check all of the boxes that we want to include, and then we can move on to the next question. And again, because of the way that the prompt is set up, it might come back and ask you a few more questions. Should the template ship with demo and pre-filled data? Yes. Bake getting started guide into the Notion page itself? Yes. What payment frequency should it support? Again, we have some options. I'm just going to go with monthly only for now.
Now, it's going to start doing some thinking and it's going to build out an actual document that we can use to go and create this template inside of Notion. Remember, instead of trying to build out an entire product at once, try and go page by page or feature by feature. Make them as high-quality as possible. And then you can merge all of those individual features into one ultimate planner if that's something you want to sell down the line.
Now, to do this, you will need a Notion account, which is completely free, and Notion AI, which you can try out for free. But if this is something that you plan on doing and you actually want to sell these templates, you will want to upgrade to the business plan, which is $20 a month, and it gets you unlimited access to the Notion AI.
So, I've got my Notion account pulled up right here. And I've just created a new page. And I just need to click on Notion AI in the bottom right corner. This is where I can post that prompt from Claude into the AI. And before I hit submit, I just like changing the model to Opus 4.6. From what I can tell, it gets the best results every single time. And now all we have to do is sit back and watch it work.
You can see it thinking through all of the instructions. It'll typically create a plan for itself with checkboxes and it'll build out the page in real time as you watch it. And once it finishes the first part, we just have to come back into Claude, grab the next prompt, and run it. In this example, the first one builds out the structure, and then the second one fills in all the example data so that we have a template that we can use.
And just like that, after a few minutes chatting with the AI and a few prompts back and forth, we're left with a debt snowball planner that's pretty much ready to go. You can see it's included things like the current balance, the minimum payment, and the progress towards paying that debt off. And the AI even included things like instructions on how to use this specific template, how the snowball method works. You can see all of the debts that are created right here. It's categorized them into things like type, balance, even accounting for things like interest rate. And you can see the progress column here as well.
And this is going to be fully functional. So I could add in an example payment of $500 paid today. And if we attribute it to a specific debt, for example, the Target Red Card. You'll notice that the progress jumps up on that payment. If we adjust the payment amount, let's say we paid off $800, you can see the progress updates again, showing us that we've paid off 70% of that debt. In the my debts overview, you can see that card showing 70% progress. We pretty much have all of the functionality for this one specific tool that we'd need.
Of course, we could chat with the AI to make it more aesthetically pleasing. For example, I asked it to clean up this design a little bit, and I think it's already looking a lot better. And if there's any issues or bugs, you can ask it to correct those as well. We went from a blank canvas to reusable templates in just a few minutes, all using AI. And if I had never even used Notion before, I would still be able to do this.
From here, we could sell this as a slightly less expensive one-off tool. We could also use this for ourselves, or we could keep building out more useful tools just like this. If I wanted to make another page, something like this habit tracker. This time, we could do it even faster. I can upload screenshots referencing the exact type of product that I want to make along with a slightly modified prompt outline and simply repeat the exact same steps as before, building out the page using Notion's AI.
And just like that, you can see now we have this progress tracker. It includes a how-to tutorial teaching you how to actually use this tool. And just below that, we have the log habits and the weekly progress overview. And this is fully functional. So, if I click on some of these checkboxes to pretend like we're actually doing this over time, and then I switch over into the progress chart, what you should see is we actually get this chart line view showing our habit progress over time, exactly like the reference that we uploaded.
Again, we could use this as a habit tracker in and of itself, or we could combine it with some other tools and create a more all-in-one type planner to sell online. Now, how do you actually go about selling something like this? You can see on Listing View that all of these Notion templates not only solve a core problem, but they also have a really nice looking mockup that brings the product to life. To get your templates to sell, you have to bring them to life. You have to show them in action.
I found this mockup online, which is just a simple image of an iPad. Now, if I download it, I can open a tool like Photopea. And this lets me open that mockup completely for free, and all I have to do to change out the screen is edit this smart object layer in the sidebar. This lets me add a screenshot of my Notion template, which I can position to fit in the iPad. And when I come back into the other screen, you can see that it's updated our iPad with our debt snowball planner. This is the type of image that I'd use in my listing to get it to sell. So, I need to download this and save it to my computer so that I can upload it into my listing.
Now, personally, I'd choose to sell products like this on a website like Etsy. That's because I've sold digital products just like this on their platform for over the last six years, and because doing it on their marketplace is much more reliable than selling it anywhere else online, and because it's one of the most cost-effective options for this search that we made just a few seconds ago. You can see that Listing View shows us estimates for how much each product is making. And what's cool is that these products are showing up in this search organically without the shop owners having to pay to run ads to get these products to show up.
So, a tool like Listing View helps you identify which products are selling best. And then once you find a bestseller, it helps you figure out what specific tags and keywords to use to show up in the same search yourself.
