Your most stressful thought then is about your children.

>> No, my parents.

>> Your parents. And what's the most stressful thought you keep having?

>> I just want my mom to stay sober and I want them to just be happy and in love. I know it sounds like a little kid.

>> No, it doesn't sound like a little kid. It sounds like somebody who loves their parents. It's beautiful.

Both my mother and father were alcoholics. My father was a nice alcoholic. He never beat me or anything like that, but he was drunk and kind of just out of commission. He worked as a parking lot attendant every day. He was underground. He never saw anything. And my mother was a more intense one. And I I am who I am because of my mom. She raised me mostly cuz I had four fathers. And I wished she had been different cuz she was addicted to both prescription drugs and alcohol. She's very physical and very abusive. Pour soap down my throat till I throw up. And I wasn't cuz she thought I was lying. And I wasn't lying. Makes you a little crazy when the people you love act a little crazy.

But you know, at one stage in my life, I could have had all this rage and anger and I did for a short time and then I woke up one day and just realized if my dreams had been fulfilled, if my wishes and prayers had been fulfilled, I would not be the man I'm proud to be. Because I'm here today a huge part because of her thoughts and loves, but also how I had to get strong to protect my brother and sister. I became a practical psychologist cuz I had to manage her states and I got really good and when I didn't I got a lot of physical pain and so it made me get better quicker. So I'm blessed that she did that and so my prayers would be for your parents to be sober as well. I'm sober personally because of that.

I don't have any judgment about whether people drink or not but you can't control what's going to happen with your parents. So the stress is never going to go away because even when they get sober then it'll be will they stay sober. And so there's this lock inside your heart as opposed to just loving them however they are. Cuz my experience is if you love them however they are they tend to make improvements. Not always the level and tempo you want but they do. But as long as we have a stressful thought we have no control over and one that quite frankly how much joy is inside you because you've seen so much pain in others.

>> How much of your faith is so strong in you because of what you've seen in your own family? Let's keep it.
