You are going to look 10 years younger in 2026 when you do this one thing. And it's something that no one talks about, but once you see it, you can't unsee it.
Hello, gorgeous girl. Welcome back to my channel. And this is such a good one that I cannot wait to do a deep dive with you today. But if you're new here, hi. I'm Tracy. I'm 51 years old and I'm a lover of all things fitness, wellness, beauty, skin care, all of the good stuff. So, if you haven't already, please do tap on the subscribe button and for everyone, click on that bell so you always know when I have a brand new video that goes live.
So, what are we talking about here? What's the one thing one thing that is going to move the needle and make you look fresher, have you have more of a youthful glow, and make people say, "Did you get work done?" cuz it's literally one thing. And I genuinely do not hear anybody else talking about this, but I'm giving you the inside scoop.
As we get older in our 40s, our 50s, our 60s and beyond, we lose something that we had more in our youth. And that thing that we start losing is our natural contrast. Our skin color sometimes gets a little bit more dull. Our hair gets a lot of gray. I have so much gray hair. Our eyebrows even lose their color. Our lips lose their natural fullness which creates that contrast, that shadow. And even our features start to soften a little bit.
Now, I am very much pro-agging. So, before you leave me nasty comments saying, "Oh my god, you should not worry about I love aging. That's why I talk about the age that I am." You can be proud of your age and want to look and feel your best. And that is why I love our community here on YouTube because we're the girls that get it.
So, the secret to looking fresher, having a more youthful looking appearance, and having people wonder, did you get some work done is actually not about changing your face, but it is about bringing back in contrast, definition, warmth, edges, natural contour. And once you understand contrast, I promise you, your beauty routine gets so much easier. Contrast gives you structure. Contrast gives you definition. Contrast brings features forward. It's really high impact but super low effort.
So, let's talk about hair, cuz this is the one that I dislike the most. I have a ton of gray hair. And if you're not new here on my channel, you've heard me talk about this before. And I love it on some other people. And if you are a girly that is a silver fox, fantastic. But for me personally, I do not want to go gray. I don't know if I'll ever want to go gray, right? And so what I have realized is that I look so much better when there is contrast specifically around my face.
So what does that look like? It means when my gray my gray hair is all literally right here. You see the top of my head? That is like 100% root spray. I am way overdue for dyeing my roots right now. But mama just does not have time right now. I have a lot of gray hair around my temples on both sides. And I really hate the camera always picks this up. I get gray hair right here. So, what I do, and I've done a whole video about this, which you can check out after this, and I color my hair at home, but I've started doing it in a really, really specific way.
Now, back in the day when I lived in New York, I used to get my highlights done every six weeks. It was kind of crazy, and I did not want to see the tiniest little bit of root in my hair. But now that I'm older, give me the roots. give me that definition that makes a huge huge difference so that I'm not all one color. I'm I have very fair skin and fair skin with gray hair means zero definition. So I actually dye my hair color darker on the roots and then of course in in between sessions which is all the time basically I use root spray and I use a light brown not a blonde a light brown root spray because again what am I bringing in contrast? It gives me definition around my face and that is crucial.
Now, obviously, everyone watching this, your skin tone and your hair color, it's going to be different. But really take a good look at pictures of yourself when you're younger and then look at pictures of yourself now or look in the mirror now. Where have you lost some of your natural contrast? And maybe it is time to go a little bit warmer with the hair color. We're going to get into really specific things here today, but if you're a blondie or a light brown girly like me, I'm telling you, I know it seems counterintuitive, but adding that contrast makes a world of difference in the definition of your face.
Okay, the next area that we are going to be adding contrast that is crucial is our eyebrows. Okay, like I said, my eyebrows would go full on silver fox if I didn't take care of them. I mean, and it's just not a look that I like because our eyebrows frame our whole face. So, I've talked about this a million times before, but again, are you actually doing it? And if you're not doing it, this is a 5minute and probably about $15 fix. And that is getting some just for men hair dye. And you tint your eyebrows at home. Okay? It's totally safe to do this. You're not going on your eyelashes. You're doing your eyebrows. And all I do is I use an angled brush and I just brush it as though I was filling in my eyebrows with makeup. Yes, you're going to look a little cray cray for a few minutes here. And I just keep it on for a couple minutes and then I wash it off. I'm a little chicken so I tend to do it a few times just to make sure they don't go too dark because eyebrows that go too far in the other direction also can look a little severe and kind of like circa 2005 2015 and we don't want that. You want it to look natural, but again bringing in some definition.
Now in between, of course, there's a fix in between, and that's using a tinted brow gel. I always will use a taupe colored with my light colored hair, but obviously do what works for you. And for some of you, the solution might not necessarily be darker, but it might be just a little bit warmer. Like if you have brown hair, maybe there if there's like a warmer tone brown, that's going to make a difference for you. So you got to play with it a little bit. But having the eyebrows defined, whether you're using makeup or you're doing it, you know, semi-permanmanently with dying them. And I do my eyebrows about once a month. So, whenever I'm doing my roots, I do my eyebrows as well. It takes a couple of minutes, but it also saves me time. So, then my eyebrows are defined. It's framing my face. And even on a day where I'm like taking a Pilates class and like wearing no makeup, at least I have some definition already going. And that's the foundation.
Okay. The lighting here today is going bananas. So, I'm sorry if it's like I'm really bright, I'm not so bright. The sun is like coming out. It's going in. It's giving us contrast, guys. So, contrast example number three is warming up your skin. And as a pale girl like me, that equals bronzer, bronzing tones. Now, I do not really contour my face, okay? Um I'm just lazy and I've seen girls on a million different YouTube videos that like, you know, shade their nose or they do this or they do that. I don't do any of that. But here's what I do do. I add bronzer or bronze tone. And usually it's a cream product. I love the Merit Minimalist for this. And I will put it on my forehead here. Okay. And then very high on my cheekbones. I'm not going down here. If I did it down here, what's that going to do? That's going to add 10 years to my face because it's going to shade down here and drag my face down. So, I put my bronzer high up on my cheekbones here and then I put a little bit on my eyelids. Recently, lately, especially on YouTube shorts, so many people have said, "Oh my god, I love that eyeshadow color. What is it?" I'm like, "It's bronzer. That's all I do." I don't use eyeshadow. I actually don't like eyeshadow. I like using bronzer.
So, three places. Boom. Boom. Boom. And then on the top of my eyelids, and I just do like a wash of color. And then everywhere else, I'm just kind of blending it in. and the excess on the brush. I'm also contouring under here, giving me a little bit of that contrast. Why? That's going to cause a natural shadow, which is going to make your jawline look a little bit more snatched, make your neck look a little bit tighter, right? And just make you feel more defined, more gorge, more like you.
So, if we're talking about contrast and really looking your absolute best, none of that matters if your skin is dull or dehydrated. And when that happens, everything looks flat, right? So, I took Typology, one of my favorite brands, free skin diagnostic, and it put me in their DE category, which honestly is spot-on for me. My skin is generally healthy, but obviously I have some of those fine lines. I've got a few brown spots. I've got some oxidative stress, and my skin can definitely feel dehydrated. And what I love about their diagnostic test is that it didn't just tell me what my issues were, but it actually gave me a fullon prescription of exactly what to do. and it's so simple to implement.
So, if you've been around here for a while, you might already know that I am a huge Typology fan. I've been using Typology products for well over a year now, and I truly think that they are elite next level. One of the prescribed products for me is their serum for dark spots and firmness, and it has transexamic acid and tetropeptide. Try saying that five times fast. It targets wrinkles, fine lines, and sunspots. Basically, all the things that I'm trying to get ahead of right now. Then during the day and definitely every single time that I travel, I always have Typology's nine ingredient moisturizer with me. And yes, it literally has just nine ingredients in it. It's simple, it's clean, and it never irritates my skin. And then at night, a new one for me is their eye serum for fine lines and wrinkles. And it has.1% retinoids and hyaluronic acid. It basically kind of smooths the eye contour. And I love having a serum that was specifically designed just for my eyes.
So if you want to take Typology Skin Diagnostic, it really only takes 4 minutes and it's completely free. And because I'm such a huge fan of Typology and I'm always trying to do special things for my community, they gave us a really great offer. You'll get a free organic peppermint hydrolate with any $40 purchase. So everything will be linked down below in the description box for you. If you don't know where that is under the title of today's video, like underneath my head. If you tap on more, you will see everything in the description box, but if you're watching me on TV, you can scan this QR code. So, let's give a huge thank you to Typology for sponsoring today's video. If you haven't checked them out, they are amazing. I love their product. I love their skin care. I love their tinted products. They're amazing.
So, one thing I find really funny on YouTube is a lot of time people will tell me like, "You've had lip filler. Look at you. you've had lip filler." And I'm like, I actually haven't. And the other thing is, if you look at pictures of me in my teens and my 20s, big, beautiful, full lips, but with time, with age, those little lippies have changed. There's less definition on the edges of my lips. So, it's kind of the only way I can really describe it. It's like, you know, with age, what I've started realizing, it's like your lips kind of just like melt into your face a bit more. I look at my daughter and she has a very full, very defined lip edge, whereas mine's just kind of like face, lip, it's all together. So, if we add in more definition around our lips, and you got to do it in the right way, it gives you that illusion of fullness, and that also equates into a more youthful looking appearance.
Now, when you are doing this, you want to do this very specifically. So, what I do is I focus on the center part of my lip. If you don't want to overline your lips, don't do it, baby doll. You do not have to do it. I personally like to. But it's your face and you can do whatever you want. So, I almost make like an oval shape on the center of my lips. And then my corners I fill in literally right on the lip line. What does that do? It gives me a little bit more lip, a little bit more definition. And you can really see the difference. And you don't have to go crazy here. Just use a liner that's kind of like your lips but better. I personally love using like a cool tone kind of slightly brown nude. Um that just really gives you a little bit more of almost that shadow and it's almost like creating a contour on your lip. And then I use my favorite lip shade. Everyone always asks me this. The lip liner is the big lift. It's going to be linked down below in the description. And then my lipstick that I use legitimately in 90% of my videos here on YouTube is Milani drugstore brand and the shade is Secret. And that is what I have on my lips today. And I did that technique and I'm telling you it gives you like boop fuller lips in a second.
Another area of contrast is your teeth. You need to have white bright teeth. Now I am not talking about those crazy chompers that are just like a little bit too much and that read really fake. But making sure that you don't have like wine stains, coffee stains, cigarette stains, like those kinds of stains on your teeth, that is definitely aging. And then again, if you've got your lips defined, you've got your hair defined, but your teeth are kind of like yellowy, not the best. Now, I also I love doing things that I can do at home. So, something I've used for a really really long time is Lumino and it's a non-toxic whitening strips and I use them a couple times a month and it's easy and it just takes those stains off and again gives you that contrast when you smile. People are like, "Oh, nice bright white teeth." But it's not like crazy like I need sunglasses bright, but really just like a nice natural like you've just got naturally beautifully white teeth and maybe you don't drink as much red wine and espresso as you actually do.
Our next area of contrast that I bet you don't think about are your eyes. Little kids, I look at my daughter who's only six and I look at her beautiful little face and the whites of her eyes are so white. So, I use the Lumifi whitening drops on my eyes. I don't do it every single day, but especially if I know like I have an event to go to or maybe I'm going out to a nice dinner or I'm going to do something where there might be pictures, I'll just pop one in each eye and it makes such a difference. It makes you look more alert, more awake. It takes redness out of your eyes and it just gives you again that little bit of contrast so things aren't just kind of like blending into each other. It is such a small thing but it makes a wild difference.
And another area of contrast that we absolutely cannot forget about is like what are you actually wearing? You know, obviously everyone's skin tones are different. Everyone's coloring is going to be different. Your hair color, your skin tone, all of that, right? But it's really, really important to know what colors really just wash you right out or which colors bring light into your skin or warmth into your skin. Now, for me, I specifically chose this chocolate brown color because almost every time I wear brown on my channel, people are like, "Oh my god, that's so nice on you." But again, why? It's giving me contrast, right? I love beige. I see people wearing beige and I'm like, "Oh, that looks so great." But you know what? Beige does not love me. As much as I think it's a really chic and elegant color, it washes me right out. But if you have a naturally like my daughter has very beautiful like almost like a cinnamon color skin tone, looks amazing in beiges and creams and stuff like that. With me it's like everything is all one color. Now I can do camel which is a little bit warmer. It's still in the same family, right? So you have to kind of know yourself. But know that another really simple, really easy way to add more contrast to your look is by the tones and the colors that you're wearing. Maybe you do, and you know, you can probably do this with Chad GPT, like take a picture of yourself and say, "What are the colors that are really for me that are going to warm up my skin and add natural contrast?" Right? If you don't want to do that, maybe you get your colors done in person or you go to a store and you just kind of put clothing in front of your face, right? and just notice what colors wash you out, right? And which ones really kind of add more life to you.
So contrast is that sort of like quiet luxury beauty secret that no one talks about, but once you start implementing this, I'm telling you, you can't unsee it. And you will be floored by how many compliments you're going to be receiving. Everyone's going to be like, "Girl, you look amazing." You'll be like, "Contrast. It's just contrast."
So that is what I have for you today. Let's implement this together. 2026, my friends, it is our year because you know what? We keep getting better every single year.
