The five laws that govern communication. So, if you want to be a powerful speaker, like now we're leaving here to become the voice of God speaking to your generation, reaching people. Do you want to know how to communicate and influence people and influence your generation? And it will help you in business, in in everything you're doing, negotiation, help you in family, even when you're talking with your wife or husband, even when you're talking to children. You want to know? Please, bring that up.
This one is school of ministry. We're doing early morning school of ministry. Well, let's see. Go find a tape because I've done it. It wasn't in the public session. [music] You will find find a tape. The Greek people have five words. When I went to school, they taught us four. And that's what they teach all over the world. The four laws of communication with persuasion, with conviction. So, but there's a fifth one. Um a few school. The first one, they call it ethos. These are Greek words. Ethos. Want to see if I can get out of this. Oh Lord, why did I start? Ethos. The second is pathos. The third is logos. The fourth is kairos. And this is the fifth. Some schools don't teach that one. It's kairos. This fifth one, so schools don't teach it.
So, the ethos is about the speaker. Now, we're talking about communication. Whether it is a movie you're releasing, a music, a book, a broadcast, a seminar, you're doing preaching, you're doing crusade, you you you counseling, you're communicating in any form, even if it's a letter. These five laws applies. Pathos is about your audience. Uh, I have started, oh. Uh? Logos is the message. Kairos is the timing of delivery. So, even if it's food that you cooked, don't serve it when people are full. Wait till they are hungry. Timing is everything. Look for the right time. Okay. Okay. Okay. Let me tell you what the five things mean. You know, see how I left the last one. Okay, let me tell you what the last one mean. Kairos is about the anointing. The Holy Spirit resting on you and your message. You see why they don't When it gets to the spiritual one, they remove it many leadership schools. We who know the implication know that we don't remove it.
What is [music] ethos? Ethos is credibility and character of the speaker. Write it. That what makes people listen, number one. These are four ingredients for cooking the soup. When you see someone like me communicating, [music] I bumped into it by accident, not knowing what was happening. And when you do things by accident, you succeed sometimes, you fail sometimes, until I got the knowledge and I learned how to be consistent in delivering powerful results. Ethos is about who is talking. What is his credibility and character? Not just that you have a message. The same message, this man says it, everybody believe. This man says it, people will say, "Well, well." The same message. Like this gospel now. And your uncle gives you advice, and the doctor gives you advice. Who are you going to follow? Very simple. What disqualifies your uncle in that area field, you you don't have you're not competent. That's why the most reliable pastor here, very honest pastor, very reliable, tells me, "I'm going to fly you across to US in the aircraft. I will come now from the and go back home. It's better I miss the message. I miss the conference that Apostle Wanga You want to fly me now. You see, the problem is not that you're not You're a good man. But where is your qualification? What trainings do you have to be flying an aircraft? So, what is ethos? The trust capital. What is that thing about you that make people trust you when you speak? Build it. Build your reputation capital. Build your brand. So that when you speak You see, how they call me United Nations invite me, uh banks invite me, governors invite me, all kinds of whatever, beyond church world, is not just because I'm a good preacher. Build your integrity. [music] Build your trust capital. The Bible said, "A good name is better [music] than silver and gold." Understand the Jewish people, you will see it in the book. They don't understand that a good name, a good brand, is more important than money. So, they will invest in building their business brand. They will invest in building their personal brand. Actually, in wealth creation, you will see a lot of things on that book. The highest level of wealth, there are five levels of wealth. The highest level, the fourth level, is when your money now works for you. You don't work anymore. The investment you're made now is what is taking care of you for the rest of your life. The lowest level is when you start working. So, those of you that is a pay you salary, that's how your future depend. You are the lowest level of earning. But Evangelist God, the highest level is when you get to a point, your name is now making money for you, opening doors for you. Excuse me. If I put up a wealth creation millionaire fast lane conference, just one day or two days, uh and it's tomorrow. Committee is ending. I said, "This program has not ended." We're going to do a seminar tomorrow morning. Millionaire fast lane. How to hit become a millionaire in dollars, oh, within one year. And the seminar is tomorrow morning and it starts by 5:00 a.m. After all this long stretching committee. By 5:00 a.m. We're only doing morning 5:00 to 10:00 in the morning. Then we'll do the next day, 5:00 a.m. to 10:00. But the two speakers are Elon Musk and Aliko Dangote. How many of you will show up? You see every Look at pastors. Even the pastors will show up. Oh oh my God. Look at even US and Canada people that have already bought their ticket. So, you will cancel your ticket and stay. Do you see? Okay. We'll put the same seminar tomorrow. We will start by 5:00 a.m. You see that one I announced by 5:00. If you guys don't show by time you get here by 6:00, this place is already filled up outside. Cuz once the news go out, now we put the same seminar. Not 5:00. We want to allow We want to allow you to sleep. It's 8:00 a.m. or even 9:00. I got come. You come. These are the two speakers. How many of you will show up? Have you now understood ethos? Build yourself. Build your name. Build your brand. >> [applause] >> The Bible said, "God has highly exalted him and given him a name above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow." This is why somebody puts up healing service. He hires 2,000 seat auditorium. Gentlemen, God bless you, my dear. Thank you. He hires 2,000 seat auditorium. Then he gets there, even 100 people he can't see. Then another person puts healing service and hires stadium and there are people outside. It is who is inviting, who first before what you have to say. You know what is the issue? Trust. Sick people will stay in their house. They don't trust you that you can heal them. When I invite them, they come. Because they know we have the goods. Look at this country. We have not even taken the testimonies of what happened. We have not. Did you see the hands of people? I only showed you a few examples.
First, win the heart of the people before you try to win their head. Heart first, then the head will open. Head second. You know what it means? Sh- Show the people that you care about them. Show the people that you you love them. Show the people that you have their good intention at heart. Communicate heart before you start communicating head. Even when you're preaching to sinners, you want them to give their life. Let them know that God loves them. Let them know that he cares about them. You see like yesterday, we dealt with hell. At the end of it, you will see the Pastor Victor that is talking even at the border of hell when they dropped him. Jesus was still showing him that I did not make this place for man. And I don't want anybody to come here. And that's the reason he's sending this word all this morning. He said, "I love man with an everlasting love." Even that issue about hell, don't just drop it like it is hot. Let people know what is behind it. God doesn't want you there. That's why it That's what he was dealing with me. Because Are we the ones that hold life? What if there are people here that will will not be here by next year? And I said, "Let's me postpone it to next year convocation." So, even the preacher must carry transmit God's heart for people. God's love You must be a transmit compassion. You know, there is a saying. How do they say it? Don't tell people how much you know until they know how much you care. I'm trying to say the right way. They care first before they know second.
Now, let me tell you another way you communicate the heart. Tell people the benefits to them. The why. So, when I speak, that's part of what you sense You You feel. That thing is That thing that exists between a mother and a child. You can't explain it. A military man has an only daughter. He's a general in this country. That girl graduates. After spending money, she comes to be working in our office. We didn't have money. We're in an uncompleted building. The ministry could not afford What we used to pay was 300 naira salary a month. 300 naira. And this girl and their her father was in the the ruling class. It was military that was ruling this country. She abandoned all the opportunity to come there and build. The The father could not understand this. And his his only daughter. So, one time he decided to send soldiers to come and arrest her from the office. They arrested her. Took her back to Lagos. We're in the eastern part. She got home, stayed for a few weeks, came back, and continued her work. Then the man decided it's time to arrest me. You know, he's worried. What does this man do to these young people that they are following him? He doesn't have money. He doesn't have anything. Even me, it wasn't long I came out of school. And we're trying to start the ministry. What is it? It's nothing. It's When people know that you care about them. When people know that you love them and you have their good interest at heart, they will go through the storms with you. Sometimes when the heat of battle There are sometimes I misfire and and I the words come out and it's sharp. Once that we come out of that, you see me. Those are the ones sometimes I go and buy the guy a car. I go and do for something I do for the person. People are wondering what I might tell him for my sin. The heart. The heart. The heart. The heart. I'm trying to let the person know I love you. And I always explain to them when I'm in the heat of battle, I'm in military, and we are Please, bear with me. Let me finish when I come. Because I'm a very simple person. You see this the me the other me that my mother gave birth. Listens to the one that God gave birth. Sometimes I sit in my house, I play my And I tell myself, "No, this is not this one. This one [music] cannot do that. It's the hand of God that is doing that." There are some messages I listen to, I know that too. I don't I'm not that intelligent. You see, when the anointing is on you, you are another man. That one is more intelligent than this your natural man. That one is superior. You see, the man of the flesh listens to the man of the spirit. So, one time I I was stressed beyond measure. I traveled too much. My body was misbehaving. I put the the my senior brother, the other me, when he was under heavy anointing ministry. And he would just worship me when my body aligned. Just to worship. The glory hit me and my body aligned. I have learned that that one is not me, oh. It's Christ at work. Even though we are sons of God, we still live in this earthen vessel. As a son of man, still a son of man. So, pathos is about connecting to the heart first. Let people know why. Why. And if you want to be a successful pastor, that's what keeps your people. Not how powerful your sermons are. The people know even when [music] whatever, they will stay. Because you are You stay with your parents, you stay. Are they the best professors? Are your parents the richest people? Family is not about being the richest family or being the whatever. It's because of love. That woman that stood with you from birth all the way. It's that thing. That thing. That man. See how I was crying like a baby when my father died. Or some of the things I planned to do for him that I have not finished doing and he's going at this time.
Okay. Logos. I want to end. Logos is now your message. Your message. So, this is where you do intellectual appeal. Do you see now? Who is talking first? Touching the heart of the people second. That's why you go to a community now to preach the gospel. And you do some social work to show them love, that Jesus love. You do both. You do this. You have touched the heart. Everything opens. So, the great commission will fail if it is not mixed with the great commandment. The great commandment opens the heart. And then you can bring the message. The third is now the message, logos. And >> [music] >> one of the most important I don't have time anymore, so I'm going to say one or two lines and close. One of the most important thing is make sense. Don't say they are children. You come and think you're playing with these children of these days that are watching all sorts of things. Explain to them. Give them And It's in this area that sometimes we look for. You see what I I did yesterday in that area. I brought evidence. I was ready to supply. Time was the problem. I was ready to supply you because I still had two evidences to call to court that were not called. When it comes to intellectual appeal, you have to be convincing. You have to have facts. You have to be knowledgeable. You have to study and have information. Have knowledge. Emotional appeal is not enough. I'll tell you why. You wear off. If you now use that to build proper structures of doctrine or knowledge or whatever, then you are one. Doesn't matter how rich you are. When you see your teacher in secondary school, you still [music] respect them. Doesn't matter whether you become a billionaire and your teacher is trekking. You see your primary school teacher As long as you can still recognize them. Or you see your professor in the university, you still respect them. There is a loyalty that you get from people who parented you, who invested [music] in you, who helped you to grow to where you are. It's true. And [snorts] then the fourth is the right timing. Ah, that one is so serious. You can have everything right and spoil it with timing. Look at the woman that has something to tell her husband. The children [music] school fees. And probably they went to school and this what they were disgraced because they have not paid and they come back home and reported to their mother. So, the woman is waiting for the husband. And your husband is Apostle Victor. He has just traveled to Uganda. I'm just making an He's a missionary. He has just finished traveling. He has been on the road for 2 weeks. He returns home from the heat battle front. As he's coming in, you lambast him with school fees. You see how You are a sincere woman, but you don't have sense. You supposed to first welcome the man. Take him. Let him eat. Give him good food. Ah, 2 weeks you've been on a missionary journey. We really missed you in this house and all that. And when you finish giving him physical food, you take him inside and give him the other food. Women, you are different from men, oh. The male sexual You know, it takes 1 month for you to rewind. Huh? The male system that produces sperm fills up every 48 hours. So, you can imagine I've kept Pastor Noah here for the past 2 months. The wife is in Germany. But Steve Fee if you dare harass and make any demand, that's where you get reaction that you don't like. So, the tension is not [music] just the traveling, the stress, the different thing. There is also sexual tension. In the animals, you watch the the males. When that tension rise, they fight. They misbehave. So, after food, you make him rest. If you even understand how to do massage, help his back. You take him inside. There's another food men eat. You give him the other food. His head comes down. After his head is calm, you say, you know, darling, while you are well, you almost disgraced us in school, our children. That's when I give us I I said, "Take that three times. Take it." He said, "Ah, I've got She won't go." After something like that, he said, "Do you have change?" I said, "We change. Keep Keep the We're not interested in the change. What are you doing with change?" >> [applause] >> Which stupid change? The Bible said, "A word spoken in due season." Help us. This is how to create magic in communication. Do you see some people? You know, as I began to now learn, I had to now start practicing catching myself when I misbehave, I break the laws. Cuz there are laws. Then I'll correct. I correct, you know. You learn how to talk to people, how to communicate, [music] and all of that. I'm still a student, too. But now, the most magical is charis, the anointing of the Holy Spirit coming upon you. Me, that for me, that one is 50% for me. I I'm helpless without it. So, I always depend on the Holy Spirit. I always ask for his help. I'm not a public speaker. I'm not I'm not gifted in these things. I'm not I don't I'm not at all. As I was telling you, I always respect that other senior brother. That one is far more intelligent than me. The Bible said, "I will give you a mouth and a wisdom, mm, which your enemies will not be able to gainsay." He said, "For it shall not be you speaking. It shall be the spirit of your father speaking through you. Learn to depend on the Holy Spirit and tell him to help you, to anoint you, to touch your tongue. Even if it's a presentation you want to make in an office, you've done all the research, you have your logos ready, you've done all your graph, you've done all the PowerPoints, you've done all that. You come in there, you know how to appeal that to the heart of the people. When you do it right, you respect the people that are there, you're going to make them and well, you know, and sometimes part of the way you do emotional appeal is by telling stories, using stories. You But ask the Holy Spirit to go to you to that boardroom. I have this presentation. I have I'm going to be speaking in the bank. I'm going to be communicating to the Ministry of Finance. I'm going to be presenting a project. I'm going to be because the other people competing for the same thing. Touch me. Daniel and his friends carried the anointing into government house. The Bible said God gave those [music] children wisdom and understanding in all science, in all knowledge. And when they were tested, they were found [music] 10 times better than all the astrologers and magicians in Egypt. The anointing, the touch of the Holy Spirit will be your cutting edge. I need to say it before God, before the angels, before Satan, before man, before all of you. That's what has helped me. It's not because I know anything. I study. I truly love people. I truly love God. He has poured his love in my heart. But it's not that. Sometimes I'm not even aware of usage of this stuff. One thing I can tell you, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit You don't need to go to boardroom and start speaking in tongues. So, you have finished all that in your house. You yield. It is yielding. It's surrender. It's acknowledging that we are not sufficient in ourself, because our sufficiency is of God. When you acknowledge that you are not sufficient, >> [music] >> he comes in and fills you. There will be a quiet calm in your soul. There will be peace [music] in your soul. There will be serenity. You walk in there, you feel it. There will be a magic. Those people will not be able to explain what happened to them. They will tell you to go They go in All of them will be saying, "We are voting for this guy." Everybody is saying They can't explain it. Look at what the anointing does to people when we communicate under it. It's the same thing it does in the boardroom. It is the same thing it does when you speak before Nebuchadnezzar. It is the same thing it does when you speak before Pharaoh. It is the same thing it does when you speak in the bank hall. They won't be able to explain what it was. >> [snorts] >> I taught this to our people, some of our people. And one [music] guy went to get after he has failed went to get this job, and that day rain fell on the way. And he had had no without job, didn't even graduate from Rain beat him on the way. So, he walked in drenched. He sat at the reception, and other people came for the interview. Some of the things he had prepared, his head was scattered. Then he remembered what I said. Because you know, it's not that the Holy Spirit will touch your tongue. He will help you remember. Jesus said, "He will help you reconstitute all the things I've taught you." He also helps you in other areas. He sat there. He didn't know if he goes try to get go home, he will lose interview. And what? He just sat there drenched. And some of the people there gave him something to dry his face and towels and that kind of So, he did all that, but finally they called him in. When he got in, the interviewers that sat at the board started laughing. He joined them and laughed. When he even he told them how rain beat him, how he is a graduate of his story. You know what he was doing? He's applying what I taught emotional appeal. He wants to and told them how what he has and all that. But he said, "I'm not here just for job. Truly, I'm here to help this company succeed, and I know how to do it." Then he opened his mouth. Halfway, they told him to stop. All of them started clapping. He was wondering why. He had done research on the company and found their company goals and what they said is is their direction. So, he was speaking to them based on that. And they told him to go. He went outside and waited. They dismissed everybody and told him to come back. They said, "Listen, you are the one we are selecting. Not because we have had all kinds of presentations today, people with brain, people with But all of us agreed that you are the man we are looking for." Then the MD said, "Don't disappoint us." And he took a bow. He gave him a car. He gave him a house. [music] Gave him some mind-boggling salary. He ran to my office and fainted. In that state, he just said, "Lord, al- already the devil has messed me up. Rain, look at how I'm looking. All the things I know, power, dressing, everything, look at me. Please, help me. Even now, all the things I prepared, my head is scattered. Please, help me put back myself together. Help me make an impression [music] on this guy." And that was it. So, even these little children, you're going to children's ministry, don't just think they are children. Anyhow, don't talk to them anyhow. Some of you we we lock away the heart of a child. No, no, no, no, no. Show the child love. You know, one of my greatest joy in this whole company is those [music] coming seeing those children and hugging them. And even though some of them we couldn't talk, just that hug. Show the child love. Then you can now explain the scriptures and the proper things of God. And let them know that God himself loves them. Let them know that they are special. Let them know that he has a great plan for their future. You mean So, you mean me? God? Yes. >> [snorts] >> Then you explain what it is. They will follow him. They will follow him. They will follow him. Everybody bow down your heads. Ask the Lord Maybe it's the prayer Rainmaker pray that God is one out of me. Give him a word this I don't know. I did not plan to share this with you. >> [snorts] >> Talk to him to help you. You're going to become a better communicator. And remember the first law ethos. Keep your integrity. Your Christian testimony, the life you live affects the message you preach. That one is your credibility. The character of the speaker, the credibility of the speaker. Don't just say it's just the message. Just the effect. No. It's content and container. Because the clean water in a dirty vessel, the vessel will spoil contaminate the water. That's why you're going to trust God to live a life that is worthy of praise, a life that brings glory to God. When you speak, people listen. Thank you for watching.
