So how do you become a well? Then the Prophet said that my slave doesn't get close to me, he doesn't become a well to me by anything other than what I have obligated.
So the obligatory actions, the Salah, the Zakat, the seeking knowledge of the things that you need to know, being good to your parents, the things that are Wajib. If you do that, you get close to Allah. That must be done.
Does the secondary actions, voluntary actions? He starts to pray praise. He doesn't fast Ramadan, he fasts Mondays and Thursdays. He doesn't just do the first obligatory and but he does more on top of that. He doesn't give Zakat, he gives. He doesn't just seek the obligatory things in terms of knowledge, he seeks on top of that. He said, "He becomes closer to me, I love him even more."
So now you're a well of Allah. It's through worship, it's through obedience. The basic level is foundation. When you've done that, now then Allah said, "If you ask me for anything, I'm going to give it to you." No two ways. If you say, "Allah," if you seek refuge in Allah by saying, "I'm going to give it to you, I'm going to give you refuge."
That's why some people can say, "And what happens?" Shaykhan's gone. Like when he died, someone was possessed. What did they do? They said, "Shaykh is around the corner, he's coming." They brought his shoes to show the person when the Jinn was inside of him. Show the Jinn he was dead and the person is around the corner, like his shoes, right? He's actually taking off his shoes, coming in. He left because of how strong his was, just to hear.
