You want to make $5,000 a month in 2025? This is the blueprint that helped me go from the streets of Mumbai to the streets of Manhattan. Whether you want a dream job or to build an amazing business, this is the most efficient path to $5,000 a month. So, let's get going.

The first thing we have to understand is that the job market is unfair. 52% of college grads won't even have a job when they graduate because they don't have experience. Hiring is a rigged game. If you were at some fancy school, all the great companies will find you. For the rest of us, we're already starting 50 yards behind. And there is sexism in hiring. There is racism in hiring. It's a complicated world, and the longer you are unemployed, the worse it gets. I remember going 6 months without a job, and recruiters started swiping left. Damaged goods. The truth is, if we're playing fair, we're playing to lose. We need to change the rules of the game.

I remember when I was trying to switch to Wall Street, I had zero experience in finance or investment banking, but I was pretty sure I had the right skills. So, I asked my future boss to give me his toughest financial modeling problem, and he gave it to me. And he said, "Sandip, this may take two weeks." But I worked 72 hours without sleeping and submitted that assignment in 3 days. Got hired. So, what if the front door is closed and the line is long? Find a side door. Build the right skills, of course, but then find a way to show that you can do the job, even if you don't have the experience. Employees don't want to train you; they want plug and play.

Next is number two. There is an old way and a new way to get your dream job. Which one are you on? Old way is Russian Roulette: spam your resume, wait forever, get ghosted. The new way: the job hunt hack. A friend of mine had a killer job as a designer in Florida, and she took a year off to do her passion project. And when she came back, the economy had gotten worse, and she had a tough time re-entering. She sent 250 applications. You know how many responses she got? Zero. It's heartbreaking, but only 2% of online applications turn into interviews.

So, how do you actually get hired? Use the three R framework. First is Reach. Forget HR and online applications. Find the hiring manager. Go on LinkedIn, look for mutual connections, or DM them directly. If you can't find the hiring manager, find anyone in the company and reach out directly. The second R is Referrals. Do you know 85% of the jobs get filled by referrals? If you have a target company in mind, reach out to someone who works there. Ask for a 15-minute call. Learn about them, learn about their role. Don't ask for a job, don't ask for a referral. Build a relationship, and they will help you find a way. The third R is Recruiters. To paraphrase Terry Maguire, "Help me, help you. Help me, help, help you." Help them help you. 87% of the recruiters are on LinkedIn hunting for talent, looking for you. Make their job easier. Upgrade your LinkedIn profile. One, make a useful headline that helps you pop. Number two, turn on the "Open to Work" badge. Number three, tell your story with quantifiable wins in the About section. Number four, use a professional picture, please. And number five, add skills. When a recruiter comes to your LinkedIn page, they need to stay there for more than 6 seconds.

Also, AI is the ultimate job hunting hack. What if you had 1,500 top CEOs of the world and hiring managers sitting in front of you, coaching you? AI will still beat all of them. That's the superpower of AI. You have a magic wand right there in your back pocket. Use it. Craft very sharp, specific emails that get replies. Walk into interviews knowing that you have an edge because you dug up everything there is to dig up on that company the night before. So, use AI to win, or you will lose to someone who does.

Next up is number three. The resume hack. Your resume is amazing, too bad no one is reading it. The only thing that opens doors nowadays is an algorithm, and it filters out 80% of those before a human even gets to see them. And even if your resume makes it through to a human, you get 6 to 10 seconds. That's how long an internal recruiter will scan it before moving on. Here are the three things that you can do today. Number one, stop using empty words like "detail-oriented" and "team player." They don't mean anything. Number two, tell a clear story. Use "I do, impact, data, outcome." Don't say "I managed a social media account." Say, "I grew engagement by 240% in 6 months and generated $50,000 in new leads." Impact, data, outcome. Number three, never, ever send a generic resume anywhere. Use AI to tweak your resume. Make it custom for every single role that you apply for. And finally, remember, your resume isn't a biography; it's a sales pitch. Make them buy.

The next point is this: High-demand freelancers make money; the rest make excuses. Let's look at this burgeoning YouTube Creator economy. A great scriptwriter may make $200 per video script, if he's lucky. But a great video editor, she can bring in $1,000 per video. Why? Because she's offering something rare and valuable, and most importantly, no AI can do what she's doing, at least so far. Moving up the value chain means three things: more influence, more impact, and then more income. That's why a personal trainer will make more than gym staff, and a wedding planner makes more than a wedding florist. So, ask yourself, what right skills can you master? Where are you in your customer's value chain? If you do it right, you'll stop looking for customers, and the customers will start looking for you.

Number five. Clients don't pay for potential; they pay for proof. If I was a skilled graphic designer but all I had to show was my Canva account, who's going to hire me? But if I had a stack of portfolio this high, who wouldn't hire me? Our work wins us more work because our customers find real proof. But how can you generate proof when you're just getting started? Here's a three-step playbook. First, find two or three clients that actually need your service. Second, offer your services for free and ask them for just one thing: to be your referenceable customer. If they love the results, and third, use those testimonials to land paying clients. Be very selective because every time you say yes to a $200 job, you're effectively saying no to a $2,000 job.

Number six. Most businesses fail before they even start. If you're a founder, this Japanese concept is the best way to refine your business model. Ikigai is a Japanese framework or a concept that translates to a reason for being. Why should your business even exist? Ask yourself these four questions before starting any business. Number one, is this what I love? Number two, is this something the world really needs? Number three, is this something that I am really, really good at? And number four, can I grow it profitably? Until your business checks all four of those boxes, it'll be hard to scale.

Number seven. Pick the wrong niche, and you will end up running in circles. Think Warby Parker or Dollar Shave Club. Startups that focus on the right niche markets get bigger faster. So, don't spend time building another CRM system. Build a lead generation engine for small businesses in Ohio that sell into insurance companies. That's the power of focus. And this is exactly what AI agents are great at. They can help you pick super small slivers of specific problems and own it before large companies even realize what happened. A great book to read on that topic is "The Innovator's Dilemma" by Clayton Christensen. When I was a CEO, we picked up very specific types of customers in a very specific type of industry, and we solved a very specific niche type of problem, and that's how we ended up on a hyper-growth path. And of course, once we became profitable, we were able to invest in many different areas. That's the power of niche business models.

Number eight. In a few years, there'll be more AI agents than human beings on this planet. 2025 is the rise of the single-person startups. It will be you, the human, as the CEO or the founder, hiring AI agents to run your business. And the great thing is, that's the fastest way to grow your company. There are tons of AI tools out there already that can create content for you, do your admin work, run customer support, and run operations for your business. The old way of hustle and grind and expensive and extensive teams, they're gone. So, embrace AI and become a solopreneur.

Finally, number nine, which is one of my favorites. Your mind is holding you hostage. You don't need more motivation to succeed; you just need to remove these three roadblocks. I remember wasting months on perfecting my idea before I launched my first startup. Big mistake. Because I had the first mental block, which says, "I need to be perfect." Most of us aren't lazy; we're scared to take that leap. Remember, it's called "startup," not "wait up." Start doing it and learn as you go. Second mental block: "I don't have a network." That's not true. You have more connections than you think; you're just not looking in the right places. Think about your classmates, your co-workers, your old co-workers, your old friends, family members, parents, neighbors, church members. They're all your network, waiting to help you. The third mental block: "I am alone." If you are a founder or a CEO, I can understand. It is one of the loneliest jobs in the world, but you're not alone. You just need to find your tribe. An Oxford University study showed that people who start their challenges in groups stick with them three times longer.

So, remember, it's a marathon. Breathe in, breathe out. Find fellow runners and keep on running. Remember that most wins tend to come way after a long period of no visible progress at all. So, please, stay in the race. If you like this video and want to know more about how to avoid making the same mistakes I made in my 20s, watch my video on the 20 life cheat codes.
