Your Negative thoughts are afraid of this video

I am Ray and never believe a single negative thought your mind tells you. You see, because there's something I call the monster mind. What the monster mind does, it keeps you trapped in this prison of the mind. And it's got like this little like, you know, the Capri Suns, the little the straws, pokes it right in this box. Sucks up all of your life juices like a human juice box, draining us of our life energy.

So, the monster mind is like a parasite. It has no energy of its own. So, it has to steal off your energy in order to survive. But the whole game that it plays is that it makes you believe that well, you are in control and it's your negative thoughts and you're the one thinking that. But in reality, it's like it's planting seeds and you get to choose whether or not you water and grow those seeds of the poisonous plants in the garden of your mind or whether or not you stuff them out. And whether or not the seeds grow is whether or not you believe in those negative thoughts. But you don't have to believe in them.

And so what the monster mind does, it's like um you know how when you want your dog to take your medicine, you wrap the pill in like um some tasty treats. Well, this is like the opposite. For every negative thought, there is a seed of truth, just a little bit. And surrounding it is just poop, is just all lies. And so you get to choose. Are you going to focus on the little tiny bit of it that's true? Or are you going to realize, "Oh, wait a minute. This is what's going on. I'm feeding my negative thoughts. It's making my life worse cuz it feels bad. Draining me of my life energy." So, you choose not to believe it. You choose not to entertain it. The only reason we entertain our negative thoughts is because we believe and identify with them. But you can just as easily say, "Well, that's not who I want to be anymore. I don't want to be someone who never stops ruminating. I want to be free. Free Willie, but do not free your willie around me, my friend."

And what we do is we begin breaking this box that is ego. And what this means specifically, this box is built brick by brick like your for you page on Instagram or Tik Tok. And it's made up of stories. Yeah. Like Instagram and beliefs and identity. And the more we believe these things, the stronger the boundary is. The more we feel stuck and in prison, the more we feel like we can't escape. We're a slave to our circumstances. It's like the whole thing of the matrix, right? There is this illusion reality that we're all living in that we don't realize that we're living in. And that is the illusion of the ego. And the monster mind is like the ruler of illusion keeps us stuck in misery so it can continue to feed off us like batteries in the matrix. That was like the whole thing.

And the truth is life, the universe is perfectly balanced between negativity and positivity. It's everywhere. They're equal in value. They're just opposite in degree. So, every situation you go through, there is always something good and there's always something bad. And the only thing that determines whether or not you live a great life of wonder and splendor is what you choose to focus on.

Now, here's the hard part is that if we've already established a negative ego, which in fact is the monster mind. The monster mind is the ego that has become toxic. Like a healthy ego is like a grasshopper, but a toxic ego is like a locust destroying everything around it. And all that means is that our self-identity has become negative. And it's become negative because we've had negative experiences that make us reflect badly upon our own selves. So we feel bad. That negative identity is ingrained in us. And so we begin producing negative thoughts by default, negative stories, negative beliefs by default. This prison is like a powerhouse that forces you to continuously produce negative thoughts, mass production. So you find that well you focus on negativity by default and you can't help it. But it's not you that's doing it. It's the construct that has been built by conditioning by trauma and just simply by unconsciousness. We didn't realize what we were doing. But now becoming more aware, we can begin to break this process. Break the cycle. Stop feeding the monster mind. Stop feeding this parasitic ego.

And I'm sure you've seen people who are stuck in this. They have these narratives in their mind that are negative. Like the world is going down the toilet or there are no good men out there these days. Everyone's toxic. That's the monster mind in action. Any psychological narrative that is fundamentally negative does not serve you in any way. However, it does serve the monster mind, the ego, and we become addicted to negativity. You ever see people who are addicted to negativity or like addicted to drama? Why? It's because, well, think about drugs for a moment. You ever tried drugs? Naughty naughty. The drugs give and they take until they only take. So the thing is we get some kind of sick satisfaction from the drama, from the negativity. Maybe you get to feel like a victim. You get to feel like the world is out to get you or other people are not nice. Whatever it is, the ego is the sense of self, me or you or I. And when the ego feels like a victim, it reinforces its identity. It reinforces its own existence and says, "Yes, I am this." That is what all the stories and the beliefs and identities do. They reinforce its existence.

But the fact is the ego is fundamentally insecure because it's just a thought. It's just a bundle of thoughts that we believe are us. Because for example, if you close your eyes for 60 seconds and try to find the person you believe yourself to be, go ahead and have a few moments. Where are you? Me? Where are you me? I don't know. I don't know where they went. It's because the ego is a construct of memory and sense data. We go through experiences. We remember those experiences and over time we build a construct that we call me or you or I. And only when we go through more experiences like when we look in the mirror do we remember oh yes this is who I am. I am a man or I am a woman or I am both. But really, if you close your eyes right now, you will not ever find yourself as a man or a woman or both. It is not possible. Only when you open your eyes and you look down, you remember, oh yes, this is who I am. So we identify with this human body and all of its qualities. And yet the truth is, the fact is simply by closing your eyes and trying to find the truth of what you are, you will not find anything that you previously believed. You will find a truth and that truth will set you free.

Because the monster mind can only feed off your life when you identify with the ego. When you are so heavily caught up with the sense of I, your personal identity, identification with your body, your mind, your thoughts, that's the only way the monster mind has power. Like for example, right? If you have pink hair and I say, "Hey, I hate your blue hair." You're gonna be like, "Well, I don't have blue hair. My hair is pink. Can't you see, fool?" It doesn't affect you because you're not identified with that insult. But if I said, "I hate your pink hair." Well, now you're offended. Oh, but it's cool. What was the difference? Both are words but the words are given different meaning depending on our identity. Like if I offended you in a language you don't understand, are you offended? No, you're not offended because you didn't understand it. Only when you just translated and you're like, "Hey, wait a minute. Are you offended?" It's the same thing with the monster mind. The monster mind gets you to believe in these negative stories because we assume that they are irrelevant to us but they are only irrelevant but they are only relevant to the ego and we are not the ego. The ego is just a mask that we wear. You know the word persona which is personal identity it literally comes from the word that means mask like actors on a stage wearing a mask pretending to be a character. That is how we're all living. We're all living as method actors in this great game, this great movie of life. Not realizing that we are not the characters, but that we are the actors. And then we're also the one watching the movie. Leas, you like layers? Like ogres and onions.

The illusion is like, okay, let imagine you're in Jurassic Park, right? You're acting and you're filming. Being in the illusion is actually believing the story is actually happening. Like there's actually dinosaurs on the loose and you're about to get eaten. Okay? So, you're really afraid. You're really worried. And then waking up is realizing, "Oh, wait a minute. I'm just an actor and this is all just um a divine play. It's all for entertainment purposes only." So, what happens? You stop taking it all so seriously as much. And then because, you know, it's just life, we get pulled back into it and really believe that we're our ego. And then we get freaked out again. And then we remember, oh, wait a minute, that's not really who I am. And you keep diving deeper and deeper and deeper until you realize, well, you're actually in the audience in the movie theater watching the screen and the movie unfold. Same thing like you're not the character in the video game. You're the one behind the screen with the controller in your hands. You are the infinite and eternal consciousness that is already free from all experiences. And our consciousness has become temporarily misidentified with this separate form. And that is what causes all the trouble. Which is why awakening frees you from suffering.

Because as long as you're identified with a separate self, the monster mind can influence you. Because as a separate self, you have a survival mechanism that says, "I need to survive at all costs. And if something can threaten that survival, well, it's going to make you feel really bad. It's going to inflict fear and worry upon you. But you know, for example, if you realize that you are eternal, you are eternal spirit. Well, that pull isn't as strong anymore and you're not so pulled around by fear. And you can start walking a little bit more by faith because you realize that the monster mind truly has no power. You have all the power, but you give your power away to the monster mind through your belief in the negative thoughts and the negative stories about yourself and about the world. They simply don't serve you. And it doesn't matter how true you think they are because there is ultimate truth everywhere.

There's an infinite ocean of negativity. Do you want to dive head first in that ocean? Do you want to swim in there forever? How deep do you want to go? Do you want to dip your toes in or you want to go all the way? Does it matter? Does it really matter how deep you go? It doesn't really matter. Going in it at all doesn't make any sense. But the reason it makes sense to us is because we try and make sense of it. We take that little shrivel of truth and say, "Okay, well, it must be true." Like you see something on the news, something terrible that's happened and you begin to say, "Oh man, the world is going down, down, down. Everything is getting so bad." Is it true or not true? Well, not everybody is experiencing that reality. Not everybody is experiencing hell on earth. Only some people are because they focus on negativity all the time. People who aren't focusing on that are living their best life. Life is getting better every day. So, who is right? Answer me this. Who is correct? Is it the people living their best life where the world seems to get better and better and better? Or is it the people who seem to get worse all the time? Well, they're both right because that's what they're focusing on. Both are equally true. It's just how deep in the illusion are you?

Because the truth is you got negativity, you got positivity. And both of them together are perfection. And the reason it's perfection is because it's balance. If you took away positivity, it would be nothing but hell on earth. And if you took away negativity, it would also be nothing but hell on earth. But when you add both of them together, you have perfection and balance. And here's the key. It doesn't mean that we run away from negativity. It doesn't mean that we avoid reality and only focus on good things all the time. That's not the point. The point is being able to step beyond your separate self and see the perfection in all things. Because no matter what, so long as you're in this body, you're going to go up and you're going to go down. You're going to go up and down. But the trick is stepping out of identification with the one going up and down and become the one who's silently witnessing all of it. You enter into the stable baseline where you're not going up and down like a line in between a sine wave like this. Back to the void for you ego. That silent awareness that you are does not go up and down, but it witnesses all of it.

And the more we're attached to either positivity or negativity, we will get caught on that roller coaster. Because when you're chasing the highs, you're inevitably going to go low. And if you're running away from the lows, well, you're going to keep yourself stuck because you're really afraid of it. Think about it in terms of pain and pleasure. Our survival instincts, we want pleasure. Yay, go up and up and up. I only want to go up. But because we're attached to pleasure, well, naturally, we're going to come down because that's just the nature of life. So, we're in pain. No, I really don't want this. I really don't want this. Then you struggle really hard to get back up. Let me go get more pleasure. Yay. Yay. Everything's working out. And then, oh no, what happened? Everything's falling apart again. Not realizing that that is an eternal struggle and there's no such thing as sustained pleasure without pain. But the only peace and happiness that we can sustain is getting off that roller coaster. And we get off the roller coaster by not being attached to either. Because either way, the monster mind has influence over you. It can manipulate you into doing something stupid in the sake of pleasure or by doing something also stupid to run away from pain.

This is why religion and spirituality often talks about denying the body even though that's not the best thing to do. We don't necessarily want to deny the body. We just don't want to be a slave to it. We want to be free because it is our identification with the body that causes us to get caught on this roller coaster to believe our negative thoughts to fear and worry to seek pleasure and avoid pain. But as you seek awakening, as you stop believing in the illusion, you begin to get off this hamster wheel. You realize you have the choice to focus on either or. Things that may appear negative may actually be the best thing for you and things that appear good might eventually be bad. Who knows?

As the story Ramdosh once told. It's like a Zen coan or something. One day a man's horse got free from the stable and ran away. And the neighbor came by and he said, "Oh, tough luck, my friend." And the man said, "Well, you never know." The next day, the horse came back with a wild horse. And the neighbor said, "Wow, that's amazing. Congratulations. What a great thing to happen." And the man said, "Well, you never know." The man's son was training the wild horse and he fell off and he broke his leg and the neighbor came by and said, "Well, what a terrible thing to have happen." And the man said, "Well, you never know." Then the army came through recruiting all the young men, but they didn't recruit the young man because he broke his leg. And so the neighbor came by again and said, "Wow, wonderful." And the man said, "Hey, stop bothering me. I've had enough."
