I'll tell everybody the most important part of anything to teach is that our Father. And it's so simple you can miss it, 'cause a lot of times we want to go to these deep, deep, deep things, but to know that He is my Father.
To know that I'm His son, and that will take you into deep things. That will, that should take you very deep, 'cause then you're listening. To walk in full authority and in power. How do I do that? Lay down your life. So simple you can miss it. We want these great theological understandings, but the truth is this: lay down your life, pick up your cross, follow Him.
The closest you can ever look like the Christ is whenever you get married and you give up your life for your wife, 'cause it's the true suffering that you get to partner with Him in. And it's the only time it's used like that. Then I would petition Him daily to know Him in a deeper and more intimate way.
Listen, read your word, but we serve a God that speaks. Equally important to reading the word is sitting there and waiting on Him to speak. I could not have made it this long if I didn't serve a God that speaks. That will answer questions. That will whisper to me. That will comfort me. That will confirm things for me.
'Cause He'll whisper it and then He'll confirm it. Boom, boom, boom. And it's beautiful and perfect.
