Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America and Speaker Mike Johnson went on live TV and he revealed the truth that the Democrat party does not want the American people to know. They don't want you to know it. They don't want their own party to know it. They want everybody in the dark on this.

If you are a person who follows the news, if you follow politics, if you follow economics, if you follow the immigration crisis, and you've followed all these things for years, you already know what I'm about to tell you. But the Democrats don't want the American people to know this. They talk about affordability. They talk about what ICE is doing right now. But what Mike Johnson said on CBS News sums it into a in a nutshell beautifully. President Trump inherited this. He inherited the affordability crisis which has gotten better under President Donald Trump. He inherited an illegal immigration crisis where Biden let in tens of millions of illegal immigrants that now have to be removed from this country. So when you see these ICE raids, the reason for it is the country is between a rock and a hard place. They have no choice but to enforce these raids. They have no choice but to continue to get these people out of the country. But it all started with Joe Biden. And a whole lot of the complaints that Democrats are are pouring in and they want to have effective midterms. Trump couldn't solve this in a year, even two years. It takes time. It takes Republicans winning the midterms to keep this going, to keep the momentum going, to make your lives better. The Democrat party will put a halt to all of this. And the affordability crisis will only get worse because they want to win the White House. So they if they get control of Congress, they're going to stop anything and everything that could help in that regard.

>> I think tonight you'll hear the president sharing the exciting facts about what we've been able to accomplish after his first year of his second term. Remember, we inherited a real mess. The Biden Harris economy was a disaster. We had highest inflation in 40 years. We had paychecks were getting smaller, taxes were getting higher. We reversed literally all of that. Now, it takes a while to reverse that trend. You don't flip a switch right after the election and it all just is fixed magically.
>> Well, Mr. Speaker, I mean, on groceries, for example, they're still 20% higher than they were in 2022 under Biden and Harris. But 20% means that when someone spends $100 at the grocery store today, they're paying 120 for the same things they were getting a few years ago.
>> Inflation is gradually coming down. It's not completely fixed yet, but we are on the right trajectory. Wages are going up. We have the lowest gas prices we've had in many years. Under Biden, for example, with gas prices, they hit a peak of $4.99 a gallon and the national average is above $3 for most of his term. The president's reversed that. It's it's the result of policy changes that have made this possible. And the working families tax cut, the big beautiful bill, we infused it with progrowth policies. And that legislation, seismic and nation shaping as it is, was written for lower and middle class earners. So they're they're beginning to feel that relief. It's going to result and is already resulting in bigger tax refunds for people as they file their taxes this year, bigger paychecks that'll be coming. The estimate is $10,000 per citizen on average that they'll have more money in their pockets because of Republican policies that have been implemented and signed into law by President Trump. So, we're on the right trajectory.
>> So, anything new tonight or just touting the things that have already been done?
>> I think it's both. I think he's going to he's going to say that in the first year, the first term, we hit the largest priorities uh on the minds of the American people and it began with the wide open border. Clearly, that was the biggest issue in the election that every uh exit poll recorded. The president did that in record time. We have a a a closed secure country, a secure border.
>> I I've been down there. I've talked to Tom H. Homeman's. I talked to Christy uh Gnome down there. That that is an issue. What about on the interior? Yes. The president campaigned on closing the border and mass deportation. They were waving signs with that at the RNC. Something seems to have gone wrong and terribly so. He's now underwater on that issue and I think we all know why.
>> Well, there's a perception out there that that it was overzealous in some respect, but the president's intention has always been to rid the country of dangerous criminal illegals. That's what they've accomplished.
>> Is it merely a perception?
>> Uh, I think Tom H. Homeman has done a great job when he went into Minneapolis for example and he brought calm to the situation and restored common sense. Uh immigration reform uh has to be done in a smart strategic way. We have to follow the law. That's what the American people demand. The polling is still high on removing uh people who are here illegally and causing harm to our communities and that's been a top priority. They've done it well. I think Tom Hman's brought a steady hand to that issue and Minneapolis is a great example of that. how we did it in short order and of course we've removed the extra agents from there now because it was mission accomplished. Tom brings 40 years experience to the job. He's been rewarded by Democrat presidents and Republican presidents alike. And that's the kind of steady hand I think that you'll see going forward.
