What was God's will or instruction in the past, even up to some a very short while ago, is overruled by whatever He says afterwards. So it's more about what is God saying now.
God told Abraham, "Go and sacrifice Isaac." Claire, then he went. At the point of sacrificing Isaac, the same voice of God spoke, "Do not touch that child." Are you not going to say no? What has God spoken once has God spoken once? Our gospel, you are not the author of confusion. Some people are ready to tell God, "You are not the author of. I've come this far, you can't bring me this fire. Stop me and give me a contrary instruction." Praise the Lord. Whatever God is saying now overwrites and overrules whatever He said before.
