Most people think that poor circulation in the legs and swelling are a part of aging. But here's the exciting truth. You can improve blood flow and reduce swelling in just a few minutes a day. In this video, I will show you the 3310 method for legs. A simple workout that helps your legs stay light, strong, and healthy, especially after sixty. Before we move on to the exercises, let me first explain how circulation in the legs works. And why it deteriorates with age? It all comes down to the so-called muscle pumps. We have two main types of blood vessels: arteries and veins. Arteries carry fresh, oxygen-rich blood from the heart down to the legs. When muscles and tissues use this oxygen, it is the vein that returns the used blood back to the heart for renewal. But here's the catch. Veins don't have their own motor to push blood upwards against gravity. And they heavily rely on muscle pumps. Essentially, every time you move your leg muscles, they contract, gently squeezing the veins and helping the blood move upwards. Unfortunately, with age or a sedentary lifestyle, these pumps weaken, circulation slows down, and this leads to a feeling of heaviness and swelling in the legs. But here's the good news. With the 3310 method, we can reactivate and strengthen these pumps with a series of targeted exercises. Imagine your legs are an overflowing dam. When you move little, blood stagnates and creates pressure on the vein walls. And each exercise in the 3310 method is like slightly lowering the water level, activating the pumps, and relieving the pressure. In a few days, you will notice that the heaviness disappears, blood circulates freely again, and your legs become lighter, more comfortable, and healthier. Now that we understand the importance of muscle pumps, let's move on to the exercises. This method is very simple, requires no special equipment. You only need a chair, pillows, and a small step. And it will take only 3-4 minutes a day. Exercise number one. One of the worst things for circulation is sitting for a long time with your legs hanging down. To counteract stagnation, you need to elevate your legs. Sit comfortably on a chair or sofa and place your legs on another chair or armrest, placing pillows under your calves. Now imagine you are pressing the gas pedal. Pull your toes down, and then up towards you. This movement is called foot pumps. Feet in an elevated position. It activates the muscles on both sides of the lower leg and helps blood move upwards. Do 10 repetitions down and up. Count them together. Then take a short 10-second break and repeat this three times. These are the first three in the 3310 method. Exercise number two. Now let's activate the pumps while lying down. Lie down on a comfortable surface, placing a pillow under your head. Place your legs on a chair, the edge of a sofa, or a stool so that your knees are higher than your abdomen. Your body will form a Z shape. In this position, perform the same foot pumps down and up, 10 repetitions with a short break, and repeat for three sets. I often recommend this position to viewers over sixty, because it not only improves circulation but also relaxes the spine. It is especially beneficial for lower back pain or sciatica. Exercise number three. Now let's strengthen the calf pump while standing. Stand on a step, holding onto something stable. Place your toes on the edge. Your heels remain in the air. Lift your heels as high as possible, then lower them below the level of the step to feel a stretch. This exercise strengthens and stretches the calves. The key muscles for pumping blood up the legs. Do 10 lifts, then a break, and repeat for three sets. So, this is the 3310 method. Three exercises in three different positions, for three sets, with 10 repetitions each. All together, it takes only 3-4 minutes a day. But in just a few days, you will feel real relief. You can do all three sets of one exercise consecutively or build a circuit workout. One exercise, then the second, then the third. So, three rounds. Now that you know how to improve circulation and blood flow, there is something even more powerful you can add to your practice.
