Today, my friends, we're going to break down something a little different. For those of you that care or know, the DC movie Supergirl came out this weekend.
But I'm going to tell you right now, it's not even going to get close to that $300 million. Might not even get to 200 million. Uh, this is on deadline. Supergirl doesn't fly with a $38 million opening. It's a plane. No, it's a disappointing box office performance. The opening weekend of Supergirl wasn't what James Gunn and the rest of DC Studios were hoping for. And it's not very difficult to see why. And what we're going to learn from this disaster because it is not going well. And because of this one movie for the second time, Snow White was the first one, but now Supergirl is the second one. Shows you what happened when woke society interferes with the movie industry and what they're doing wrong and how it's being done. It was insufferable. The entire thing was insufferable.
You want to go into that nonsense? I'm all yours. To be completely and totally honest with you. What this woman is going to break down clearly show you is why Western women feel like they can do no wrong and they are literally capable of destroying men. So, let's take a look at her channel. Her channel is i.e. Butler, but her name is Emily Butler, and she breaks this down so beautifully. Of course, I'm going to pin this video in the comment section so you guys can take a look at it. My AC isn't working. I think there's some sort of electrical issue. That's why it's beeping. That is not a smoke alarm. Okay, so let's get into it, my friends. If you see me sweating, that's exactly what's happening. You don't want to be out of an AC in a room that has one, two, three. Let me turn on this light. Four lights blasting at you, nice and hot, trying to create a video. Okay, but hey, the show must go on, my friends. This is what it takes to create YouTube. So, let's get into this. Let's listen. There's two videos I'm sharing. I'm going to play you a little bit from one after she's seen the movie and then I'm going to show you another parts of one that breaks down why the movie sucked and why Hollywood create these movies and why they're so bad. All right, let's get into the first one. This is her impression.
I was genuinely a little bit more curious about going to see the Supergirl movie than I wanted to let on. Not because I'm a superhero fan or anything like that, but because this movie was set up to be so hated. It was set up to be basically the worst superhero movie of the year in a genre that is pretty much slowly dying. It is losing audience interest across the board with a few exceptions here and there. You know, there was just no end to all of the bad things being said about this movie before it even came out. Yeah, it it got really bad reviews before it was even launched simply because like the Sleeping Beauty actress, she went out she went out there and blasted all the conservative people who' looked at the preview and said this is a pile of crap instead of humbling yourself like women and men in the past who would love for you to come and see their movie. A lot of these women have this woke idea that I don't give a what you think and the attitude. If you don't like me, then that basically means you're a Trump supporter. You're a hater of women. You are a Christian conservative father who don't like women. And that's what this actress went out and did. And the thing is, she's not that cute to do that sort of. And that's before people went to actually see the movie. So yeah, a lot of these actresses are just killing the box office before the movies even hit the freaking screens. Nobody likes them. So that cuts out a massive percentage of the audience even before the movies launched. But Hollywood keeps doing this.
It was projected to lose money at the box office before opening weekend. uh they did the stereotypical blame the audience tour when there was a whole bunch of backlash against the trailer and then you have all the feminist stuff that Millie Alcock has been saying and so it was just like that's never a good sign and then even Variety put out a terrible early review. All signs point to horrible girl boss movie. So whenever something is so hyped in one direction or another, you kind of have to ask yourself, can I go into this movie? Can I be objective? Is it going to be as bad as what everybody is saying? Is it going to be worse?
I don't have a headache. I'm just preparing. And if it is an okay movie, am I obligated to hate on it anyway? Because everybody is already ready to hate it. So, going into this movie, I was really asking myself, is it going to be as bad as what they say? I had to find out. I am sorry to report that it is exactly what we thought it was going to be. I'm just going to jump right in here with a character assessment on the woman of the hour, Supergirl. Was she the worst girl boss ever? No. Did she pass the butler test? No, she did not. If you haven't seen my last video, I created a basic character development test. I call it the butler test.
And that is what we're going to get into. I'm going to I'm going to actually switch to that video because in that video, this is the crux of why we as men and women want to understand why why Hollywood keeps putting out this crap in thinking that they can get away with it.
They do not know how to write women anymore. All they know how to do is take a poorly written man and put boobs on him and a dress and have the same exact fight scene. And it's embarrassing and it's pathetic.
How do you write women so well?
I think of a man and I take away reason and accountability. Every time. Just about every single time I watch a modern movie or a TV show, something that has come up in recent memory, I find myself hating the female character. Hating her like with a passion. And it's funny that I find myself singling out the female characters, right? Because let's be honest, in most movies and TV shows nowadays, all the characters suck. So, I'm asking myself, why is it that I'm particularly enraged by the lack of good writing for female characters especially? And I think it's because we were on a trajectory where we were getting really well-written female characters, uh, leading ladies or even side characters and love interests with plenty of nuance, plenty of personality to offer.
Uh, I manage my department and I've been doing that for several years now. And God, I've learned a lot of life lessons along the way.
Your department's just you, right?
Yes, Jim, but I am not easy to manage. But it's also just like side characters like uh like the mom, Tony Colette's character in Little Miss Sunshine. Like there were just so many interesting, well-written women coming up on the screen.
Can I hire an intern?
Not yet.
Can I hire a Mexican elf?
No.
Can I buy a child bride?
No.
Then how is this even a promotion?
And then Hollywood decided that women didn't have enough representation in media. that we had to go above and beyond just writing a really good character from a female perspective. And Hollywood decided that in order to be a good female character, she had to be a girl boss. They had to get rid of any flaws, any challenges, any internal or external hurdles for her to overcome. It was just can do no wrong, amazing girl boss characters. And that was what Hollywood deemed worthy of representation for women in media. And as a result, we've now backslid. We've backslid from getting these really nuanced, interesting people written into stories, and we're now just we've devolved into the flat, boring archetypes that they sought to avoid in the.
Ah, she's freaking nailing it. Here's the problem with portraying a woman as a hero. Women were never supposed to be the sufferers of our society. That is in essence of what is wrong with these movies. And let me explain. A man goes through a hero's journey. The hero's journey starts with him being a boy earning his place as a man. He had to go out and he had to fight. He had to he had to kill a bear. He had to go and kill a lion. He had to climb a mountain and come out of the other side. He had to survive hardship in order to be considered a man. That is the hero's journey. And on top of that, he had to survive. He had to come back with scars. He had to understand what hardship was. In the old days, all men had to go through a hero's journey. Whether to become a man or it was to save or to to conquer something. Only then was he deemed suitable to protect and provide for a wife and a child. If he failed to pass any of these tests, he died. Then he didn't pass on his DNA. And that is how the human species kept evolving, evolving, evolving, and evolving. That's how we survive. That's how all species survive. The strongest survive, and they pass on their DNA. The stupid people never survived. The weak never survived and therefore the their lineage never got never got passed on. It was as simple as that. It sounds cold but but but that's the basis of evolution and that was the basis of evolutionary biology. Now the difference between a woman going through that and a man going through that was always always different. A woman's journey consisted of her going through childbirth. If she survived childbirth, which is a painful and dangerous experience back in those days, she was considered a woman. You're a woman now. Well, you know, from the time she had her period, even that was painful, right? But all of her journey never required her to be scarred. Never. Never required her to be scarred either physically or mentally because she was the one she was the nurturer of a society and she had to be of sound mind and body. The body had to be preserved because that's what men found attractive about a woman. So in order for her to find a mate, a suitable mate, she had to be fit, friendly, feminine, and agreeable even back then. But fit, there's a reason why fit came first. Listen, I'm not just telling you these four points. Every man knows this, but Mr. Kevin Samuels, he's the one that made it more popular. I don't know if fit was deliberately put there first because that's the first thing men look at is a woman's beauty. But it's in essence one of the most important thing for most men because if a woman was fit beautiful that showed that she had a much better genetic pool. She were carrying really good genes and therefore those genes would be passed on to his DNA. And on top of that, the chances of a woman surviving on her own in the wild against a wild animal, etc., just wasn't the chances that happen was slim and to none. And the third issue is she's a female. She could only produce one child a year. Therefore, she was much more valuable. Putting a woman in that sort of physical risk, what just wasn't worth it. So, that was never her journey. A woman never had a hero's journey. So all of these women that we see represented in in media, we have to understand it. It's not clicking for us naturally. We just cannot see a woman being a hero.
In the first place. And it's just especially offensive to me as a woman to see my sex boil down on the screen to some really stupid oneliners and a fight scene that she could never possibly win.
Who's going to win? You versus Superman.
I'm going to win.
So what happened exactly? Why won't or why can't Hollywood write good women anymore? You could say, and many people do, that it's done out of spite, that there is a specific message that they want to push, that all women are perfect and they're unique and they're excellent just the way they are. And it's everybody else around them who is the problem. And we either overcome everybody else or we find that inner strength within us and that solves the problem, right? And then it just becomes this diversity checkbox, this representation checkbox to achieve the feminist message. And this is where it started, you guys. It started with the Bectal test, which is an actual feminist test of female representation in movies. The beal test has like three rules, three very basic rules. Rule number one, there have to be two women in the movie or the TV show, whatever it is. And in some versions of the test, they have to be, you know, big enough characters to each have a name. It can't just be, you know, side character, office worker number seven. They have to be big enough to have names and for the audience to know their names. Rule number two, these two female characters have to have a conversation. And rule number three that conversation cannot be about a man.
You were saying.
So movies that fail the Beal test. Lord.
All right, before she get into the movies that fail that. Now, what is the man's journey in practically every movie that you watch? What is it that a man has to do? He's usually saving a female. And we're happy and we're satisfied with seeing that tail. Superman see always saving Lois Lane. Every single movie that you see, Luke Skywalker always uh saving uh what's it? Princess Leila. Look at all the freaking movies that exist. It's every cowboy movie. It's always some woman damsel in this. We saving her. We taking care of her. We doing our. And what is it that makes a woman's journey better? It's not saving a man. It's saving a child. We're always saving someone who needs saving. So a woman's job is to nurture. She has to save a child, someone who's weaker than her. That is the hero's journey for the female. But no, nowadays these movies, every single one of them, there's a bumbling man and there's a woman who is there to save him. The stronger of the two genders, the weaker one is saving the stronger one. Just just let that sink in. That's how stupid that freaking sounds. And you're wondering why people would reject that. It's not that it's not possible, but the chances of that happening are are slim to none. Because a woman will not put herself in danger to protect a man. That is a freaking rarity. Women don't even want to take care of men in real life. If she has more money than the man, you know, the hell with that broke I'm out. You don't see women protecting their men in public. Somebody attacked the freaking guy. What? She going to jump on some guy's back to say and scream, "Stop. Stop." But most of the time she's covering. No, I ain't getting involved. When a knife come out or a freaking fist start flying, she's not going to be in there.
So movies that fail the Bectal test, Lord of the Rings trilogy, original Star Wars, Jurassic Park. It was created by this woman, this American cartoonist named Allison Beal. It was made as a test. It was kind of a joke in a feminist magazine. I'm not making any of this up. This is truly where the Bechal test comes from. And I think some people in Hollywood take this very very seriously. I think this was a stepping stone for the diversity checkbox for female characters. It was the beginning of the decline. This is the description of the beal test from collider. The bectal test is not a measure of the quality of work but rather a way to raise awareness of the prevalence of male ccentric stories and encourage the inclusion of many more complex and diverse female characters. I just want you guys to think about that for a second. To encourage the inclusion of complex and diverse female characters. So then, why not create a test that measured their character arcs? Why is a scene where a woman discusses military strategy with a man less important than a scene where two women talk about shoes or gardening?

In improving the representation for women in Hollywood or women in media. Here's the thing that Hollywood writers failed to grasp. And this is just my hot take. Feel free to come for me in the comments, but women are harder to write than men are. Because on top of the hero's journey, which just lays out the character arc for any leading man or woman, you have to identify and define the strengths and the weaknesses that are specific to a woman as opposed to just a guy, any any person, man or woman. You have to make it specifically female.

Oh god, this is like a nightmare. How do you do that? It's not easy.
It's easy if there were feminine women writing it. But you cannot have a woman who does not act like a woman. That's the politest way I can put it. Who wants to be more like a man and who has never conducted herself in a feminine fashion? How do you expect that woman to understand femininity? So, I will beg to differ when it comes to it's hard. I would say that these women just don't know how to do it. And I think you say it further on along the line, but I don't think you specified why. Women just don't know what it feels like to be feminine anymore. I've done quite a few videos on this. Women understand how to be sexy, but they don't know what it feels like or know what femininity is because the feminists had literally taken women and made them sexual objects rather than retain their femininity. That's the that's the problem that we having in the relationship market. That's why men just no longer find women that attractive anymore because all feminism have done is recreated the female of our species and made them more masculine. So men just don't find that attractive. They will fulfill their sexual urges because women are bring that's all women seem to be bringing to the table these days. A woman will have sex with a man faster than she'll make a sandwich for that man. Tell me I'm wrong. Let's hear what else she says.
If you want to write a boy getting bullied, what do you do? You show him getting shoved in a locker. You show him getting panced. You show him like, you know, bullies shoving his face in the water fountain. These are pretty easy things to kind of write for a screen to write visually. How do you write a girl getting bullied? It's not as easy. Girls don't go around snapping each other's bras. They don't pull each other's hair most of the time. They wage psychological warfare.
Have you ever walked up to people and realized they were just talking about you?
Have you ever had it happen 60 times in a row?
I have. If you look at Mean Girls, what were they doing in that movie? They were spreading rumors about each other. They were undermining each other. Regina George, she writes all of these awful things about every single girl in the class and pins it on Katie to get her in trouble. These are more nuanced, more difficult things to write and adapt for the screen and to really nail the feminine perspective of conflict, the feminine perspective of what is toxic or what is evil. It's a lot easier to write a male bully than it is to write a female bully. I I I get what she's saying in the sense that it's that it's easier to show a physical altercation on screen, especially when the screen is full of visuals. But to show the psychology of a woman and the evilness of a woman, that takes finesse, that takes a depth of understanding female psychology. And unfortunately, women just don't have it anymore. Too many women are no longer feminine. But you know what? Those are the richer stories. Those are the stories that I would want to go to the theater to watch because it has depth in it. Punching a guy, giving a guy a wedgie, doing all of that physical stuff that is just so easy for my brain to comprehend. But if we had a writer who could weave the intricate depth of how evil women are, I'll watch that all day. Tell me if that wouldn't be more intriguing to a lot of you guys. Listen, man. We can see a guy get his ass kicked. How many How many ways you can kick a guy? How many ways you can punch somebody? Slice a throat, broken neck. I mean, it's been done over and over and over again. But the psychology of a movie, throwing psychology into a movie, that's depth, man. That's what our society needs to see more of. Stuff that makes us think. But they don't like to show the dark side of females. This is the problem. They don't want to show that the light giddiness of a woman is one thing, but the dark psychology of a woman. Oh man, what was that movie? Uh the one that uh where that woman broke kidnapped a guy, kept her in kept him in the house. Oh, it's on the tip of my tongue and she broke both of his ankles between up two pieces of board so that he couldn't move. What was that? That was deep. That was dark. That was a female cart. That just felt raw. Oh, I had nightmares on that ship. But that's how you have to show women being evil, being bad. That has depth.
On the flip side of this, you have to look at what makes a strong character. And this again is where Hollywood just keeps stumbling over themselves over and over and over. They treat a strong female character exactly the same way as they treat a strong male character. They treat it physically. Literally, they have women out here winning fist fights that they would never win for the sake of what? Equity, for fairness to write a strong female character. That's an affront to me. That's an insult to me. All that tells me is that you can't define what feminine strength looks like, so you just mock it up as male strength and call it a strong female character. Boring. Stupid. You're wrong. What is feminine strength? Oh, I'm going to end it on that cliff note right there. I'm going to put the link to this video in the comment section.
