If you're going to reverse diabetes, here are the carb sources I recommend.
Number one are vegetables. Eat as many vegetables as possible. Half of your plate should be vegetables. You can steam them, bake them, sauté them, but you really want to do a lot of vegetables.
Secondarily, berries. Blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries are going to be the best, along with pomegranate.
Okay, according to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, those who had regular fish consumption cut their risk of diabetes by 21%. Now, chicken is also beneficial, and so is red meat. I would do those as well, but make sure they're organic. That's the big factor there.
Beans also have been shown in studies to reduce your risk of type 1 diabetes. They're great because they have both protein and fiber. So doing lentils, kidney beans, black beans, chickpeas are great ways to help reverse diabetes.
