This is the best tool ever invented. I love this. I just I could just look at this all day long and even if I never use it, I don't even have a slide hammer cuz I'd like to make it to my retirement in one piece. This is a special tool developed by the training center on Toyota. This is the coolest useless tool in the planet.

Uh he runs the the Care Nut channel. Just such a cool opportunity to be here. If you haven't seen his channel, definitely definitely check it out. I imagine most of you guys have.

This is such a cool space you have out here. Yes. It's so quiet and clean and try. We try. And I can see a massive box behind you. I just told you that some of my cars, I have two kids, so some of my cars are the third and fourth child. This is the fifth child right here. Oh my goodness. This is a Mr. Big with a hutch on the side. It's already not a hutch, a locker on the side. It's uh it's my last toolbox. I can't I can't imagine a better choice than this. Yeah. Still I still It takes It still takes my breath away every time I see it. It's like, "Wow, yeah, I actually own this."

And then I I noticed you have a car here. Yes. This is yours as well. This is a daily driver. Okay. Intentional. That is a US General. It's not anything. It's a US General and it's intentional that way because u imagine if I have a nice epic, you know, cart that is beautiful and and and we want to keep it clean. where where do I hammer my sockets and where do I throw stuff and where do I you know the place where you put oily stuff and whatever uh you get something like this even if it lasts a year or two which actually this is now over a year it's doing good even if it lasts a year or two well just replace it it's like 300 bucks and then you don't have to worry about you have one thing not to have to worry about.

That's such a good strategy like I guess when you're in a hurry I mean you don't want to have to baby it. Yes exactly. I'll be honest with you and I'll just keep it my honest uh yesterday when we were when we were preparing for this was the first time I ever cleaned this cart flat on it's tool box I clean it all the time but this one is the first time I clean it outside like wipe it down and I did a horrible job. Looks that. So I guess I mean I'd imagine you put tools away every night. Yes. I am the type of person that sometimes in the middle of the job like okay you're pulling an engine out of the car you're doing some work to it you pull the engine that kind of point in the job I'll just stop put everything back where it belongs and start fresh cuz I do not like clutter. The last thing I need is to be chasing where's my 14 mm or where's my 10 mm.

So I see you keep most your sockets go sockets. I guess. We only work on Toyota and Lexus. So I don't have anything standard. And actually some of the sockets here are not in order. So I hope that makes sense. Like you'll never have a 15 mm on a Toyota. I have some 15s here but you rarely will see a 15 on a Toyota. You rarely will see an 18 on a Toyota. So some of the sockets are intentional the way they're organized. They're not in order of size. Over here, some swivels. They're not in order of size. They're just the sizes I need. And then some hex's. And these are also if you if you work on Toyota or actually many brands. This is the best tool ever invented. So, this is a Snap-On long swivel head. The idea is if you take a 12 swivel, for example, look how look how big this is and how small this is. You can get this in really tight spaces and that's the cool part about this.

I'm kind of noticing so all impact sockets. I um I think we are past our days of uh you know scrunching my hand. I've This is something you know I've always had impact sockets. I'm not big on chrome sockets. I just and ex except for specific cases. Why would you need a chrome socket? A chrome socket you can't put it in impact. But an impact socket you can put it on on a ratchet. So, why are we buying both? See, technicians will buy tools just to have that beautiful grandest look. I don't do that. If I don't use it, it's leaving. Although lately, I have been buying some stuff that I feel like I don't use as much, but I just I've always had impact sockets. I never never like the chromes.

And I do you have a brand that you typically. So, this is all over the place. Some of them are gray pneumatic, which is a great subtle socket. These two are Snap-On because these are the most used ones and they usually they constantly break. We really use them a lot. Matco, I believe. Same thing with this. And this one is also expert from Mac Tools.

Do you get all the trucks out here? The tool trucks. We don't have Matco. No. Matco. Okay. And Mac Tools is they're good. Well, actually, they're much better than our Snap-on dealer. Okay. Snap-on dealer is not uh God bless him, he's trying, but I feel like uh too close to retirement is the feeling I get.

Over here, I keep some, you know, daily stuff, random stuff. brake measurement tool, tire gauge, which this is a very old Matco one. This is a Toyota specialty tool. It's a oil filter cup. This is actually the official one. It's made of chrome. Really good. Um, brake fluid tester. This is my OG Craftsman. The old school Craftsman. This has been with me very long time. It's for drain plugs for a Toyota. Couple ratchets, torque stick, couple uh hood hood shock tools when they don't work. This is a special tool for like 2022 and up Toyota Tundra Sequoia with a V6 twin turbo, the famous one for blowing up. This is it clips on and lets you drain the filter outside instead of right on the frame. Somebody actually I love these guys. I hope if you want them, find them out there.

So, these two are your go-to ratchet. Yes, you can see that they are very old and actually one of them. Yeah, this is it. Oh, I've never seen that before. You know what the best part is? This was like that when I bought it. Oh, really? And I'm like I got I got the thing and I looked at I'm like I just you know one of these deals when you're like about to say something. I'm like oh I I maybe 50 years from now this will be the misprint one and be worth something. I mean it doesn't affect anything. It's just that's how I bought it but because it's supposed to look like this. Okay. Yeah. I was like man you must clean that a lot. So, when I retire, if you're looking for a misprint uh Snap-on ratchet, I got one.

So, I've I've talked to a lot of guys that uh that work on Toyotas as well. Okay. Uh and they always have different opinions on what oil filter tool is the best. You think this, you know what, they're all right flat out. It's just what works for you. To me, I feel like this one does not slip easily. And this is an official tool. Toyota has like two of them that are official. Um, this is actually the older one. There's a newer one now. Honestly, this is the way I'll say it. They all work exactly the same. Even the cheap Chinese one from Amazon. But if you have an oil filter that is overtightened, no, no tool will take it off flat out. That's the bottom line. But this one actually I have another one of these. These the only problem with them is they love to break here. If you really like put a giant half in impact for a stuck filter, for example, you have no choice. you you got to destroy it to replace it. They tend to crack here. That's the only thing. But they're I I've never had this slip on a unless it's something extreme, but never slip, never round off a filter or anything.

This second drawer is kind of a mess. Just random random stuff. Nothing specific. Just the tire pressure gauge and some uh old school Toyota rubber grease. This is actually for brakes, for slide pins and everything. Same thing with this one. is actually um brake caliper grease.

So, so you use all Toyota parts here? Yes, we do not use anything aftermarket. Um everything is Toyota. We do unless a customer specifically asks and if I'm not comfortable with it, I would say no. I see. Because I'm not going to put aftermarket sensors on a on a Toyota. That's a bad idea.

Over here, this is the least used drawer. So, the I put these wrenches here and this is a very specific set of wrenches sizes that I actually use a lot. And you know, the best part is I always forget that they're here and I always walk to the toolbox and get and you'll see why when we get there. But yeah, this is the least used thrower in my entire entire setup here.

Got some pliers, some side cutters, some needlense. These are my go-to hammers. This is a very old hammer Craftsman. Okay. I don't know if they still make it. Best hammer ever. This thing has been through a lot. Put it this way. This is something I bought recently. I never honestly Well, some guys will not like this. I never believed in Snap-on hammers. Why are we paying a fortune for a hammer? It's just a piece of metal that is going to get literally destroyed. So, I always bought Craftsman something cheapo and just go through them. It doesn't matter. This is the first time I buy this. I actually like it because it's a brass tip. I really like this one.

Power tools and you can tell which which uh brand of electric tools we go with. I actually don't I'll say this and and it'll sound so hypocritical and I say next to this thrower. I don't have brand loyalty. If it's good, I'll buy it. If it's no good, I send it out the door. Because before this, it used to be Milwaukee. I tried Snap-on. Snap-on to with me. Some folks say it's great. They're horrible electric tools. But again, that was a long time ago. Maybe I just got a bad taste and never got back to them. Love my Milwaukeis. They work great. Batteries last long. Tools are strong. I've I've some of them just break and end. Like this is my second impact. The first one just died after, you know, oil. I feel like most of these tools not oil friendly. That's that's the only thing I feel. This is a half inch stubby. This thing is amazing. Really. Cuz I have arthritis in my hand and everything and this thing is lightweight. And that is the daily driver tool card. Some battery tester at the bottom, some gloves, fender covers, whatnot. But that's why I bought this because you can see it's like scratched and dinged everywhere, but it doesn't matter. It's a daily driver.

I guess. Before we get into your uh your main box, I'd like to back up just a little bit. So, you used to work at Toyota uh as at a dealer. Yes, I worked at Adidas as a technician for a long time. um channel started around the pandemic and then we got to a point where what's next? What can I what can I do next? I feel like I was very stretched thin. Although I'm stretched thin again now cuz I just that's my nature. I just work a lot. I was living an hour away and then all that time that was going two hours every day sometimes plus if there's traffic go gone from my day just driving there. It's like, okay, do I find another dealership job? I didn't really want to do that. So, me and my wife, we took a plunge. We opened the shop and we had no idea what we're getting ourselves into flat out. That, you know, I know how to fix cars, but that's literally 20% of the equation. 80% is how to figure out the business. And that was that was a quite a journey. But, uh, we started the shop. It was just me in the shop, one man, one man operation, and my wife was in the front. And slowly started hiring folks. And blink, four years later, we're here.

Man, how many technicians do you have here? So, five and I'm the six. Was that kind of a learning curve having to hire people? Yes, there's been ups and downs. I feel like you hire the right people and you have the mentality of these are not just people that work here. These are people that you'll see every single day. They become part of the family. treat them as such and you expect the same treatment back. Everybody has their moments. They're human beings as well. They have feelings. They have problems. They have everything. You want to be involved in their life to a point where, hey, we don't just you you don't just take a paycheck here and go home. We care about you genuinely. And and we hope you care about us back the same way. That works much better than do your job and go home. That's that's the way we saw it from the beginning cuz you know I worked for somebody for a very long time and I know how people feel from the employee side of things. So I could not just become another employer that just does whatever and then that's very common with the automotive industry unfortunately. So we want to create a unique environment for everybody. That's why shops air condition. That's why we don't work. Well today is Saturday and we're here some of them are here but normally we're not open Saturday. We don't ask anybody to come Saturday unless they want to and they want to make some some extra extra income. Um we take vacations. We treat them very well and they God bless them. They have definitely gave that back to us as well. They're great guys. They work very hard and I cannot be prouder of the team that we have here. They're great. On a personal level, we know them all and on a professional level that both both sides are great guys.

So, are are most of the guys that work here, did they have a Toyota background or. Most of them do? I think two of them don't. Um, they all came from dealerships one way or another. Some of them longer at dealerships, some of them less, but maybe with other brands, but everybody has Toyota background except two technicians, which you work on Toyotas all day long. It doesn't take long for you to feel like I'm very familiar with these things. Yeah. Yeah. You're doing the same thing a lot. Yeah. And you mentioned the air conditioner. This is it's like cold in here. Exactly. So, you know, at the dealership I worked at, we had AC. God bless them. It was a blessing. I will never complain about it. But they never set it low enough. It took the edge off. I really didn't do much beyond that. When I started the shop, I'm like, you know what? I want it to be freezing because if we're going to have AC, we're going to spend the money for an AC and do all that. I want the thing to be freezing. We're going to put it as low as possible. even if the electric bill is high because what's the point if you're going to have AC instead it's very high where it's barely doing anything. What's the point?

Well, I see your uh your huge box back here. So, what made you go with the the Mr. Big? Honestly, I'm going to blame two people. Okay. You and what? Val tools, I think. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, you know, I I was I was looking at a toolbox and we were getting to a point where I had a U blue box that was a I think 7273 Snap-on Master Series and I had a Husky toolbox next to it because I I was just running out of space and I wanted something that contains everything in one place cuz I had some tools laying around on the ground and I'm very OCD. I don't like tools everywhere. I saw some of your videos actually and some of the others. I never knew about the Mr. Big before that flat out. not really into tools and keep looking and looking and looking. Not that kind of person. I liked it because of, you know, I I considered it as a an achievement for me. I worked all my life on cars and I worked very hard. I wanted something special. I feel like Mr. Big is special to get it. I feel like it does have some disadvantages to it, but I just wanted something special because I knew if I'm going to buy a toolbox like this, it's going to be the last one. I will never buy another toolbox. Now, the colors, I'll be honest, the I am not very artistic and not into colors and design and themes or whatnot. Uh my wife helped a lot with that. She is very artistic. She's she's a designer of the shop. She chose the colors or whatnot. So, what better person to do that?

I love it. Does match a lot of the the theme of the shop. Yes. So, how would you compare the the Epic series to the Master Series you used to have? Honestly, I really like these handles. I really like that. I'm a I'm a direct guy. Other than that, this exactly I I don't see what is the difference the toolbox. So tools would go in other than the handle which I really like. I don't really consider any big difference otherwise. It's a place to put tools and it works.

And so did you buy this all at once? Yes. It was all one one go. I considered adding some other stuff to it, but I feel like do I need it? I feel like I'm not to that point yet. And I I am starting some other tools being on the floor here and there, but I still haven't gotten the chance to really go through and optimize things better. The biggest idea with this toolbox was before with my master series, things were on top of things. You want to get a tool, you have to dig stuff out. And I I still have some of that here, but I wanted to lay my tools around so they're easily accessible and I can see them at all times. If I need something, I'm not digging it out. Does that I hope that makes sense. I've never had a hutch, never really seen a point to it. But now that I have it, I actually like it. Like it a lot.

And then stainless steel, I I wanted a stainless steel top cuz my previous toolbox didn't have a top. So what all do you typically keep up here? Do you do you use this as a workspace? Yes, definitely. So basically the entire shop is run through here. We have all Mac computers in the shop. So, this is where I write estimates to talk to customers on the phone. You know, my AirPods are here. I usually have them and talk to customers here. Um, everything happens here. I do have an office elsewhere that I can sit down and and do things, but majority of every all the operations of the shop happen through this computer. Um, I like to keep things clear here. I have some old repair manuals from the cars that we can't get digital uh manuals on. This is Snap-on Zeus Plus. The worst purchase in my I told you I'm a direct shooter. So, here's the deal. I used to have a Zeus, a regular Zeus. That was also a bad purchase. I don't we we work on one brand. I have the official Toyota scan tool. So, why do I need this very expensive scan tool? You know, these are the mysteries in life that technicians will buy stuff. It's like, why did I do this? Because the only reason this is Windowsbased, so you can run the Toyota scan tool on it. Do you know out of a 100 times that I use the scan tool that I use the Toyota scan tool on this, you know how many times I use the actual Snap-on scan tool? All right. Zero. That's the problem. So I feel like we bought this very very very expensive tablet to run a program that any cheapo you know tablet can run but these are the decisions and then the worst decision is I went ahead and traded so I used to have the diagnostic card or idea and I traded that for a Zeus plus and I still don't know why but it just looks nice I guess. It does look nice. For the we do have every once in a while we'll use the the actual snap-on part of it but for the most part. It It's just glor a glorified cheap tablet. That's.

Does it have a scope on this? Yes, it does. Now, the scope we do use, but for the price of this and what we're using it for, I could have bought the best scope, standalone scope on the side and save myself a lot of money, but I do like the scope on this is really good.

And the Toyota scan tool, is that like a subscription based you have to pay every IC? Yes. We have um the scan tool. We have security features. So, we can program co keys. We can if the if you lose all keys, we can reset the car completely just like a dealership would. Um we can do software updates. We have access to the full repair manual in its entirety, the official one. Um this is something anyone can buy, techinfo.toyota.com, because of the right to repair. Um all manufacturers can give you access to their scan tools. Now, are you willing to shell a lot for the wiring and all that stuff? But the repair manual itself, every single manufacturer is required to give access to the public with a subscription. So, Toyota subscription, you can I think for $20 you can buy a data subscription. You can print anything you want from it. Okay. So, you're like dealer level. Yes, this is exactly the same. That's awesome. Is we have So, Toyota has two. They used to have the old scan tool, Textream, and now they have global text stream plus, which is horrible. I have both of them. The old one is basically no support. Works great for old cars. Dealerships don't even have it anymore. We had a We had a car the other day. They took it to a dealer and they couldn't do a calibration for a I think an ABS linear offset. They couldn't do it with the new scan tool with an older car. So, the customer brought it here. 2 minutes later, the thing was programmed. I like I feel bad. I mean, why do you discontinue support for an old scan tool that works on old models? And why is the dealership now their hands are tied? They can't even program their own car because they don't have the old scan tool anymore because Toyota was very hard on them. You cannot use this anymore. Why? I don't know. That was a bad decision.

And so, being Toyota and Lex, sorry, I have so many questions. Of course, go for it. Being Toyota and and Lexus uh specialist, do you ever think about uh expanding to other brands? No. No. I that that I don't think will ever because you know this is this is the the thing that I see and some folks will disagree and everybody has their opinion. The biggest challenge in working every single brand is that you never truly specialize in that brand. You know them a lot but all of a sudden you get this one problem you haven't run into or it's even though it's a common problem but you just haven't run into. Now you're you're starting from zero all over again. But when you specialize in a brand, you get to know them extremely well to a level that independent shops sometimes that work on everything haven't gotten to that point because you're not working on the same car over and over and over.

And then this on the same time as an independent shop, usually independent shops, they struggle with special tools. I mean, what do you buy? There's so much you can buy that and so much space you can put things in. But when you work on one brand, you can actually buy every single special tool and it would make sense cuz you're working on the same brand. Even some of these special toys are very expensive, but it makes sense. You use them a lot and they will make financial sense to buy them. And that's the nice thing of working on one brand.

That's it's amazing. I feel like I'd be so fortunate to be a technician here because you'd get all of the uh the success that you get from working on the same, you know, same brand every day without the headache of warranty and the politics and everything. It's like a a dealership without the dealership uh difficulties. Let's put it this way.

Yeah, this is the the top drawer, the famous top drawer. Uh I started switching a lot to the foam stuff. I really like the foam stuff. This is And you see the theme continues here. I don't have a lot of chrome. I just don't see the point of it. Some some folks will will comment down below and tell me otherwise, and I'm open because I just don't see the point of them. This is 3/8, so shallow, mid, deep. This is half inch shallow, mid, deep. I don't use these as much unless we come to a point where I need a mid-length or a shallow that I don't have on that side. This is more of a I work very hard and I wanted this fancy nice set and I have it and we use it here and there, but mostly the guys actually use this one when they need a socket that they don't have. This is my original daily driver set and I kept it here just for for memories. This is what I used to have in the dealership. Actually, this is a very old holder. The same stuff that you see on that side used to be here.

I kept it just the most random sockets are here. Some O2 sensor sockets. This is the best O2 sensor socket from Stamp. Oh, nice. Cuz you can fit a 22 mm wrench here. If you're really in a tight space, you barely get this there. You can put a 22 mm wrench. It fits perfect here. You can. Really. That is a cool thing about this one. This is some of the newer stuff that I've added. This one, the mid-length. I love these. These, the 12 mm for exhaust manifolds. I mean, this one is already getting a little stiff. Exhaust manifolds on Toyota V8s. This works wonders cuz it's long enough to go over the stud and has a pretty extreme angle. Feel like this go this has a a stronger angle than the normal swivel. This is some of my original sets. this extensions, I believe, snap-on and locking blue points, locking quarter inch, which I don't know why I bought cuz you notice I've never used them. I think I think I've only used one of these. This I use a lot. This is a a new one that I added recently. Uh quarter inch. I've always had like individual quarter inches, but I wanted to buy a full set. Same thing with this one. This one is a wobble set. I actually bought this one by mistake. I thought I thought it was this and it was not. It was a wobble head. I didn't notice until I got it. I'm like, ah, it come in handy. I kept it. Some spark plug sockets here. 14 mm. This is big on Toyota. And I have this one, which is actually a Mercedes special tool. Works great. It's a 14 mm 12point and it's a very good swivel. This is my original. Of course, if you live in our area with rust turbo sockets, they are most of them are like completely gone. There's nothing to grab on to. I should probably start talking to my Snipon dealer about them.

You know, technicians, I hope uh most of the folks that watch your channel are technicians likely. You know, these tools that you buy and you don't know why you bought. There is this corner over here. Let's talk about it. I use some of those. These are they're good swivel sockets. This is one of those purchases quarter inch. I forgot what was the exact name of them. They're supposed to grab really good, but they're quarter inch. I don't know why I bought them, but they were a good deal. And you know, one of those one of those deals. Same thing with these. There is this one is actually a gift. This particular set from one of our technicians. They gifted me this. They're impact shallow quarter in over here. These I never use. I'll be honest. This is my original set that I spend majority of my time at the dealership with. This is actually gray pneumatic. And this is a Husky. Really? You know what? They work great. This is Lyall's 22 mm weighted socket to take a like a crank pulley out. Very good tool. 46 mm socket. We didn't use it as much. 46 mm socket for like old Land Cruiser crank pulley. So, this is kind of an extension of that one.

Oh my goodness. This is where these ratchets I have never I'll be honest with you. I'm a very, you know, I'm an immigrant to this country. I came here. I didn't have anything. I have two kids. I'm the only one that works. My wife made the sacrifice to stay home and raise my kids. That's why they're wonderful kids. All the credit to her cuz she stayed with them. So, I could not just go and buy tools like everybody else. So, I spent my entire career with the two ratchets you saw over there, this one, and a set of Titan. I don't know if this company is still around. So, you used to buy these three of these. this long quarter inch, another very long uh 38, and even a longer/ inch. They were like a hundred bucks. All three. They broke all the time, but it's a hundred bucks. 3/8. Actually, I bought those together on a deal. This one is flex head. This one is not. They're pretty identical otherwise. Same thing with the 1/4 in. I really like this set. I actually use it a lot now. And now I understand I've been what I've what I have been missing all my life. Let's put it this way. Um, this one I would have really wished if this set was a soft grip, but the price is a price I couldn't say no to. So, no soft grip. This one I actually recently got not too long ago. So, I used to have actually some some of my own technicians will disagree. I think I've used this once. Really. Don't see the need. You can do the same thing with this one. But I used to have these two individually. I first I had my original one and when they first came out actually with these I bought one of the first people to buy them when it first came out. I saw the foam set. I'm like I need to have this in my life. So I traded them in for this f phone set and here it is. This is a set of hex and this is one of the greatest sets out there. It's not even expensive. It's from Tecton. Okay. I love this set because some of the stuff like these really long reach, they really come in handy and they're both hex and Torx and screwdriver and they have a 3/8. I really like this set. This is one of the greatest sets. This is actually the extension of the wrench thrower. This is my original wrench set and if you're a technician starting out, you should have one of these in your life. This is a gear wrench long reach. Now, you can buy the Snap-On one, you can buy the Magco tools and pay three times more, but honestly, this set is very old, and these wrenches have seen a lot. This is Gear Wrench's answer to Snap-on. But here's the best part. Remember the one we looked at over there? One of those cost more than this entire set. But one of those will outlast 10 will outlast 10 of these sets. Most of these are broken already. M okay. I just bought it actually for a video. We were doing a video for for tools and I bought it, test it out, and for a DIYer, this is a great set. There's a lot in this drawer of the stuff that why did I buy these type deals.

These I I really forced myself to use them. They were part of a deal and I got them. I just don't see why would we need these wrenches. Yeah, that's if you're, you know, your wrench and you found a specific need for them. Please comment down below cuz I'm really wrecking my brain is why do I have this in my toolbox? Same thing with this. I've used this for alignments. I'll tell you that. That's true. And it's nice. You know, some people said the the soft grip is a kind of a no. Why do you need a soft grip? Well, you've been doing this for a long time. Every bit helps. I'll put it this way.

This over here is my original Craftsman set from a long time ago. These are actually the USA ones. Don't really use them a lot anymore. This is the main wrench drawer. Holy moly. This is the same set as over there. Okay. So open this one. You can see it. This is the same set, but this has more. Okay. So this is the later edition cuz I wanted more. And also sometimes these long reach, they're amazing cuz they're long. You're like taking something and you need to hold one end and so having two sets helps in this. Oh, I can see like doing alignments too. Exactly. Take one. You need two of the same. This one is also a gear, right? This is the 120 XP. The only thing I don't like about these, look at this. Oh, okay. You're trying to get this in a tight space and you finally get it and does this like 18. They're supposed to be a little bit stiffer, but they wear out over time. Then lot of gear wrench here. This is actually my original sets with a with a fallen friend. Yes. did uh gift this one to a customer. You know that feeling if you work on cars when you gift a tool to a customer. We love the customer, but that's painful. This one is kind of the for lack of a better word. This is a pat on my back. All my time, ever since they came out with this set, I've always dreamed of owning one. And and I own one. You know what? When I bought it, I was like, this is ridiculous how expensive it is and how much what I actually use it a lot. Oh, really? I do use it a lot. I'm really happy with it. I do use these a lot. Because for the longest time, this is the best wrenches I have. And the flank drive is really nice.

This is the plier drawer. You notice how I spread them around just to see when you before in the previous toolbox, they were all piled up in one corner. Okay. I don't have space. But a lot of stuff here. This is great. Great tool to have this. It's narrow, skinny, huh? I really like this one. U sway bar links when they get stuck. Toyota doesn't give you anything to hold on to. They give you a little hex which you can't even get to. So, this is great for that. Believe these are Craftsman, actually. They work great just to pinch stuff. There's various sets here. Some of them got destroyed. Some of them got gifted to customers. This is a Matco set that I bought. I love needle-nose pliers. They're my favorite and I really like them. This is a Matco set. There's a Mac set and then somewhere I think most of that set is in the other drawer. There is a Blueoint set. Wire strippers. This one unfortunately doesn't work anymore. I kept it as a memory. This is my original one. This one is a Mac Tools one. These are actually specialty tools for CV boots for Toyota. A lot of manufacturers. So when a CV boot leaks and other manufacturers throw the axle, put a new one. Toyota doesn't do that. We actually reboot the axle. So these are the tools to take the clamps off and put them back. This is something I bought. And you know what? Again, these are the tools you buy. Look how cool this thing is. I love this. I just I could just look at this all day long. And even if I never use it, but just looking at it, how nice it is. What uh what is that? This one is a custom tool. Okay. And you're going to laugh about this one. This is actually not for a Toyota. This is a custommade tool. I used to own an old ML Mercedes and the shifter bushing when where the cable comes out and goes into the transmission. There's a bushing. That bushing is such in a bad spot. You could not get the bushing out and in. So, somebody homemade a tool and I actually bought it. I used it once. It's been here ever since. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. You'll see a few I I am secretly a huge Mercedes fan. So, you'll see a few Mercedes tools here and there just scattered around. This is one of them.

Ahmed, have you always been strictly Toyota and Lexus or have you? It's ever since the shop opened, that's all we worked on. Before this shop, like have you ever delved into any other brand? Here and there. I mean, you work at a dealership, you know, you get used cars and whatnot, but I wouldn't say that I am very experienced in other brands certain things like a little bit experienced with Honda. I actually worked with Honda briefly, a little bit experienced with Mercedes because I enthusiast owned a few of them and helped friends and whatnot. a little bit of BMW, but not nothing domestic. Domestics, me and domestics don't don't get along too much. Not because of them, because of I just don't have a lot of experience with them. Okay.

I I will admit something. I do have a fascination with uh pics. You will see that here. So, this is my original set that I've actually had for a long time. Love this set. Don't ever use these to pull a seal. They're just here for decoration. Well, because I mean, okay, when I got the set a long time ago, this is supposed to go behind the seal and you pull it. You do that and then the tip breaks, falls on the engine, and now you're spending the next three hours trying to get it out. Not fun. Oh, no. So, they don't work as well as they look and sound. This is a long reach one. I use this one actually a lot. This one, again, I I don't know why I bought that one, but it's there. It's good. Good to have. You can never have enough picks. And this one I bought it with the intent of, you know, most of my old set, and we'll get to it in a bit. It's like damaged, missing, just horrible looking. So, I figured, well, this came out on a deal. I'm like, let's buy this set slowly start. That never happened. Haven't happened yet. Maybe it'll happen, but this is brand new. Haven't used it once.

T- handle hex set is a very old old school set. Been here for a while. I don't think you make it anymore. It's from Mag Tools. This is the world's most useless uh feeler gauge set. Really? Yes. So, here here's here's where we use a feeler gauge for in 2026. Checking cylinder head flatness. Check and block flatness. Except this entire giant set does not have the sizes that I need, which is 2000s. No, they don't go that low. So, I bought it so excited because this is a very old one that I've had for a very long time and they're all worn out. And I was worried like, okay, you get to something like like these that are like paper thin. It's like I want a new one so they have the sharp edges that I bought that very excited when it doesn't have the size. So basically this is a very nice decoration.

My interior tools. So this is a magnetic set of sockets that I only use for interiors like we're doing evaporator job, we're doing something like that. And actually all tools here are staying clean. And this is the this is the one that I had for all my career. Never had another trim tool. That looks brand new. Wow. Well, not this particular one. Okay. But this style, this particular one was the third one in my career. Okay. First one I gifted it to a customer. The second one, you guessed it, gifted it to a customer here in the shop that called us and said, "Hey, I found your tool. I'll bring it to you." And they never have yet. So, I couldn't wait. I bought another one. This is a Milwaukee set and some of the stuff that was missing out of the Snap-on set is here. I also keep these very clean cuz we work interior. I don't want to spend a lot of time cleaning interiors from dirty tools. So, I keep a specific set of tool just for interiors. These this is by forgot what was the name of the company. Let me find out. Vessel bits. So, they're Japanese bits. Some some Toyotas, old Toyotas, if you put a regular standard Phillips, it'll round it off unless you get the right bit cuz they're Japanese style. Vessel is a cool company with some useless tools also on the same. We'll get to those. We're getting to those.

This is kind of the drawer of random stuff. So, Stethoscope use that a lot. We use this to test like purse valves, valves in general, vacuum valves, whatnot. Some safety glasses, some old light that I don't use anymore. This one is a special tool for old Land Cruisers rear hub. And this is another special tool for like Highlander transfer case. Highlander Sienna all-wheel drive. A lot of a lot of them. If you don't use this, you install the seal, it'll leak immediately. Okay.

This is kind of the blow molded boxes. This one was bought in a crunch. Very cheap set of O2 sensor sockets. They have like different configurations, okay, which we decorated one of them to fit. This actually fits um specific Prius. So they have So Toyota and Infinite Wisdom decided here's an O2 sensor. Let's put a giant shield around it where now you can't get your socket. You have to have the thinnest world thinnest socket to fit. So we kind of decorated this one to be thinner. These are some of the later stuff that I bought. This is Don't buy this. Don't worry. Don't waste your money. When things are seized, there's nothing you can do to unseize them. Just drill it out and move on with life. Maybe I'm old school, but this stuff doesn't work. I tried every single one of these and I think they I warranted a couple of them. I'm

"All right, this is a waste of my time."

"Oh, no."

"They don't work very well. This one is actually a really nice set because of this. I really like this ratchet, but it's a really nice set. You can never have enough of these as a mechanic. Even if you don't use any of them, but it's always good to have them. You know, one of those deals, they always come in handy."

"I like that it's in foam."

"Like it's Yes, I really like the foam. I thought about removing it out of the case and leaving it, but I have the space. I figured I'd keep the case. This one has come in handy here and there. So, these are RBRT or something like that. So, they're basically hex sockets for rounded stuff. So they have like, you see how they have like a kind of a grab to them? They'll grab around the socket and take it. These actually do work pretty well. Yes."

"The only thing I wish this is feedback to them. Maybe if this was not as long. Sometimes you got a tight space and this being too long, I feel like accomplishes nothing. This was a regular length would have been even better."

"This is a special tool for ball joints for older like forearms, Tacomaomas."

"How does that work?"

"So, it's part of the like you use the big C clamp."

"Okay."

"These are just the right size that fits over the ball joint 'cause they're not in any kit. You have to buy them separate."

"And this is a very important tool if you're a Toyota technician."

"I'll leave you to guess what this is."

"No idea."

"This is a holder for a Sienna sliding door cable. 'Cause if the cable comes out of its place, it'll go spooling out and you'll you'll spend the next two days trying to. So when you take the motor, you put this on to hold it. And this was part of not a recall. It was a campaign to replace the slide and door cables. So every technician has a trophy."

"This is kind of the Polar/the world's best battery charger ever made."

"Oh, really?"

"I'm just going to say flat out. You know what? Usually some stuff with Snap-on that are like this, it's a $50 charger with a $2,000 name on it."

"Yeah."

"That's how it usually feels like. No, it's like I think $250. It's not. It's not. It's a great charger. It's a smart charger, so it can actually like tell you the percentage of the battery, how much it is. It has. It can charge AGM batteries. It can actually revive batteries that are completely dead. It's one of the best chargers, one of the best purchases easily. This is a really. This is not a gimmick. This is actually a really nice charger. I love it."

"Some pullers. That's a. These are OTC. This is my favorite one, the wiper arm puller."

"I've used it for everything but wipers."

"This is actually an interesting tool. This is a Toyota tool for um pilot bearings. You can use bread to pull the pilot bearing out. Technicians will know that trick or you can use the right tool. This is actually a pretty cool tool to pull."

"How's that work?"

"So, you put this on the crank nose and then this goes in and you slide this and it locks it inside the bearing. Then you"

"Oh, okay. Huh. That's nice."

"It actually works. It's a Toyota special tool."

"This one life started out with this set, the hub remover, as a really horrible experience because the first time I used it, the the bolt, this this bolt stripped."

"Oh."

"Inside the nut. And it was like, okay, well, that didn't work. But since I contacted Lion, I told him, hey, first time I used it, this is kind of disappointing. They replaced the bolt. Actually, this does work. And"

"So, basically, what this does, if you have a bearing like a like a bolt-on bearing that is stuck, you put this, it'll push against the knuckle and it'll separate it. Actually works really good. We had some of the aluminum knuckle cars like on the Lexus side, Lexus LS430, 460. This works amazing. Otherwise, you're there for three days with a slide hammer. I don't even have a slide hammer 'cause I'd like to make it to my retirement in one piece."

"So, whenever uh one of your technicians needs a tool from uh from your box, they're okay to just"

"They're okay to grab it as long as they spend my tools spend their night in my box. That's the rule."

"That's a good rule."

"We don't have kids staying outside at night. So, everybody gets back home, we're good. They they're free to use them. Of course, I trust them blindly. um we don't have that issues. Nobody locks their toolbox here actually because we trust each other. We're brothers. We we're not we're not worried about stuff like that. So yeah, of course they that's why some of the tools are deliberately spread around and there is plenty of them so they can use them should they need something."

"That's all."

"So I always tell them specific tools, hey don't don't waste their money on this. It's sitting in my tools. Just go borrow it, use it. I'm I don't mind that. We're not I'm not another technician. I'm the shop owner. I want you guys to succeed. not not uh spend all your money on tools and then you're broke."

"Then the most important drawer in the Mr. Big, the Mr. Big drawer."

"So, here there's like a mix of all kinds of stuff. This is a very cheapo antenna tool."

"Oh, 'cause we actually do use a couple of these. I figured we'll buy the set and have it. I use them a lot in older Toyotas."

"This is my original. See if I can get it out. set of bearing race drivers."

"Oh, they actually they've seen a lot of miles and they work great."

"Magical tools for like the the screw-in caliper tool. Over here is a another Toyota special tool gem. How much do you think this is?"

"That's from Toyota. Uh"

"This is this is to calibrate radar sensors and like all the ADAS stuff."

"Okay."

"How much do you think this little piece of metal is? I mean, if I didn't know any better, I'd probably say it's like a $30 tool, probably. But it's probably louder than that."

"I think it was $900."

"Yes."

"What?"

"You see how an independent shop that works on everything? Imagine if you have to buy one of these for every single for every single brand."

"That doesn't work very well."

"Jeez."

"Then there is a We're going to pretend we didn't see that tire repair kit."

"Okay. Don't do that. We actually don't do tires here. I have this as a as kind of an emergency if somebody, you know, one of the guys have a flat tire and they just need a temporary fix till we do something. I have that, but it's there. And then this one is kind of the same thing. You put this on the hub and you hammer it here. It kind of peel the bearing out. This one, I haven't had as much luck with it. It could work, but I haven't had as much luck with it."

"Couple fuel fuel pressure gauge sets. Here's the thing. This one is a cheapo Chinese one and the other one underneath it is an icon."

"I used to have a Snap-On one. It's very expensive. It cost me a fortune to get."

"They leaked and leaked and leaked and leaked like the gauge would leak. It's just from fuel hitting these and then they sit. They start looking. I said I'll never buy an expensive one. I'll just buy a cheaper one. It works. It reads pressure. If they get damaged, throw it out, get another one because they tend to that tends to happen with them a lot, at least from my experience."

"Lastly, here is all the way at the bottom because this is stuff we don't use as much. So, timing light, older Toyotas, and timing lights. Some uh block testers. This is a check for a runout dial indicator. Exhaust pressure gauge, which we recently got. This is actually I don't think we've used it yet. This is a vacuum test. I bought these together 'cause the the vacuum gauge, sorry, not vacuum test. I bought these together. I used to have a very old one that barely worked. I feel like I didn't trust it anymore. So, I got these. This one is a bore gauge. This is a piston ring compressor. I actually don't use this a lot 'cause it doesn't work as well. And the irony is the cheapo one that we bought, the one, you know, the that works better than that."

"So, do you rebuild a lot of motors here?"

"Yes, do a lot of engine work here. So, that's why this stuff is here."

"Um, this is this is actually another ridiculous special tool. So, this is a Toyota special tool. Two lifters. So, you have the lifter, you put it in oil, let it sit to fill up, then you put this tool in it. It'll actually open the lifter on the inside and fill it up. Kind of bleed the lifter."

"Oh, wow. Another You don't want to know how much this cost. Another ridiculous price. But you know what? Stuff like this, like nobody makes this tool, just them. So, you're kind of stuck buying it. But we use this actually quite a bit 'cause when lifters collapse, the only way to bring them back up. And when I say lifters collapse, GM guys will say they're done. They're garbage. That's not the case with Toyota. Sometimes you just have to bleed them. They're fine. If you buy new ones, definitely you have to use this. But sometimes, like they'll have a little bit of movement to them. They're supposed to be solid. You take the lifter out, dump it in oil, put this in it, bleed it all, you see a couple bubbles come out and they're perfectly fine."

"Yeah."

"So, we don't have lifter problems with Toyota. They're they just tend to over time. Some of them collapse a little bit. Like they'll have a little bit of play to them, not all the way down."

"A special tool for a 2GRFKS 3.5 L V6. This is actually a technician-made tool. Love the guys. I I wish uh I have still have their info. But this basically you take the engine mount and you rest the engine here and this sits on it. Then you can drop the cradle 'cause the engine if you let it hang, it'll hit the body and you won't be able to drop the cradle."

"Well, this is one of those great tools."

"Then there's some emery cloth here, some plastic gauge and stuff like that. This is the I don't know what to put here drawer. I'll be honest with you. So, this is so shallow. I I there isn't much that you can fit here. I wish they don't have these throwers in these toolboxes. That's one thing. um a lot of random stuff. Some of the older stuff. You can see the snap original snap-on set is here. Some of it. Some random screwdrivers. I feel like this is a drawer that's a total mess and I could use it better."

"Then there are some useless tools."

"Okay. Yeah."

"I this is the most this is one of the tools that I was so excited about and I've never used it once and the one time I used it it didn't work very well. I was like, okay, this is"

"This uh this looks very funny, doesn't it?"

"What is that?"

"This is a special tool developed by the training center on Toyota. So when you do a report that you are sending to Toyota for a defect, you can do this and point at it."

"The stuff you collect, right?"

"Here's another Mercedes tool."

"So on the on the older older stuff that had spark plug wires, they're so tucked in. You put this behind the spark plug wire, do this, it pops it out."

"Oh, and that's again bought it, used it once, never used it again."

"This is this is actually a pretty cool tool. So, this is is a special tool that pulls clamps around AC lines for Toyotas. Now, this is not the official tool because the official tool is a $700 monster that's been on back order. I have one on order, but back order forever. So, I I bought these. This is I think I don't even know who makes it. Some very cheap imitation. It basically does exactly the same thing. So, the clamp, it's a weird clamp that's closed. You put this tool in and it releases it. Then it opens."

"Huh."

"So, you can't do them without that tool."

"No, you absolutely cannot. Like, you can't you have to get exact pins like that and have enough pressure to push on them at the same time."

"This one is another kind of random stuff drawer. Some some of my other hammers. See, I never buy. This is actually one of the biggest hammer buys. It's a 4-lb hammer. It really works good. There's a lot here. So, let's go through it. The Snap-On dealer gifted me this one. You could tell how we've never used it yet. I forgot about it. I just saw it right now like, 'Oh, I forgot we had this one.' These are jack pads for. They're. They're actually meant for BMW, but we do have a lonely BMW in the Toyota lineup, the BMW Supra."

"So, this goes right into the jack pad of the BMW and then you can lift it safely."

"Master cylinder depth, kind of the rod push rod depth gauge."

"Oh, I see. Okay."

"Then there are some little tools that are really cool. This one, this is a brake line clamp."

"Oh, nice."

"Instead of using a vice grip and mark the thing or use or use for example this one that doesn't work on brake line or brake hoses, this it just very simple tool. You put the hose here, you clamp it down. It's always the simple tools that work. It doesn't have to be something fancy. Or this one. This one. And actually, this is the other one of it. When you put a rotor on, you do brakes, the rotor hangs down, and you end up putting one of the lug nuts and now you're taking all this time. Take. This just goes on, clamps, and holds the rotor in place. Very simple tool. It works great."

"Then there are some brake like a brake caliper press or compressor tools. This one's actually a cheaper one, but we have the adapter for them somewhere. Here they are. So, on some of the on some of the Lexuses, they have four six piston calipers. This is the only one that can reach it to compress it."

"Really?"

"So, that's why I bought it. I didn't want to buy something. I mean, we don't These are kind of rare cars and we don't see them all the time. I'm not going to go buy a $700 tool just for that one car. So, we bought these. I mean, this is a cheapo Amazon one. It works great. You remember earlier I told you I spent my entire time with that Titan set. Here's a half inch of that."

"Oh, man. They've seen some use, too."

"Yes, it have seen better days. Works."

"Does it?"

"It works. It's $100 for all three of them. Couple sets of these. Now, this is my original set. Fortunately, some of them got gifted. That's just happened. And this is a bigger set. I really like my"

"Pen chisels always always come in handy. Another one that's a special tool here. This is This is a technically a Subaru special tool, but we do have some Subaru in Toyota land. The FRS, the Scion FRS."

"That's right. Yeah."

"So, this is to turn the cam. Oh,"

"Okay. I'm actually after I bought it from there, I realized you can use this to turn a lot of the car cams with the with the with the phasers or gears, however you call them. So, this comes in handy. Some seal seal tools."

"This here's a funny story with this one. I thought I lost this for months and I was getting ready to buy one and constantly when I when I need one, I'm borrowing one from the guys. I'm like, I keep forgetting to order one. Guess what? I found it."

"So, this is actually"

"but it's my one of my original. It's the first one I bought. It's the only one I bought."

"So, I see like you you mentioned uh Snap-On gave you the like the blow gun and you have some other Snap-On. Do you have a truck that you like to get on the most? I'm assuming Snap-on."

"Yes. I I feel like look, if you're going to spend a fortune on a tool, let it be the best. Otherwise, there's others, especially today. Back in the day, things are a little bit more different. But today, things are very different. You have a lot of options, infinite options almost."

"If you're going to buy something, buy the best or buy the buy whatever. Snap-on, I noticed with their hand tools, not everything, with hand tools, they're a lot better than others, significantly better than others. And I I like that part. To me, if a tool works, it works."

"Snap-on tools always exceed everybody else. That's what I feel lately. Now, we don't have a Matco guy, so I can't speak much of that with the new stuff, but Mac tools definitely their quality is I'll show you an example real quick."

"This is an original pick set from a long time ago."

"Great. I broke some of these and the Mac Mac guy told me, 'Here are a replacement.'"

"Over here is more kind of We're getting into some of the specialty tool stuff. This is the inner tie rod tool. This works great. This is a useless tool and it just the Robin Air leak detection for AC."

"Never worked for me. Maybe I got a bad one. Very expensive."

"Never worked for me. I I really like when I bought it, I was so excited about it and every single car like we tried tried tried. It's like after a few weeks, it's like, why am I feel like my time is being wasted right now?"

"Never worked for me. I mean, if if one of your viewers had this tool and works really good, let me know. I don't know. Did I get a defective one? It's never worked for me."

"This is a leak detection. Same thing, the black light and for AC. This is a special tool for Toyota uh cam seal."

"Okay."

"Though an old 3 and 3.3 L. This is for the 5VZ engine to push. Actually, we never use this in the shop anymore. So, back in the day when these cars were new, and we're talking like basically 4Runners with a 5VZ 3.4 L engine, when you replace a timing belt, you use this to compress the the tensioner and then put your pin. Except now these cars are much older. We will never do a timing belt without replacing the tensioner. So now this totally became irrelevant. But when they were new, this was a big thing."

"Cam cam shaft holder for like old time belt stuff. This is a fan fan pulley holder for it works, I guess, on all brands, but use it mostly on trucks. You hold the fan while you take the four nuts that hold it."

"Mhm."

"And this is a tool that I use a lot. This is for valve springs. But actually, I don't like the big C clamp giant thing. This is actually works much better. Chain wrench for crank pulleys when they when they're stubborn. Although today with the between the big Milwaukee 1/2 in and the 22 weighted socket from uh uh Lyall, I don't feel like we we haven't used this a lot."

"Oil filter cutter. We occasionally get a need for it. It's just a Jeep, but it works. Cut a filter just to see if there's metal or stuff inside. Especially when we build an engine, we usually like to do that just to make sure we don't have anything hidden."

"This is a set that I bought on sale. I will be honest. I'm waiting for my other one to completely tear apart and I'll take one of these, start using it. But I've used it here and there, but not as much."

"Yes. And then this set. See, this set is a definition of why don't buy a set if you work on one brand."

"This entire set, I've had it for a long time. Threeth threading for spindle rethreading kit. They're all new except this one. That's don't buy a set if you work on one brand."

"This plier is actually valve stem seal plier. So valve stem seal. Take the valve, hold it, pull it out, install the new one. So we use this a lot. Ironically, this is a Amazon purchase"

"'cause Bluepoint has one and I think this is like the imitation of it. So I have this one. And I bought it at the time and I didn't want to spend the fortune for the Snap-On or the Bluepoint one. One of my technicians has a Bluepoint one. Guess what he does sometimes."

"This one This one is a Let's put it this way. It works. This is where this camera gets used on a daily basis flat out 'cause a lot of inspections, a lot of stuff. So, this is a test long. I feel like every time I buy a camera, it's a different name and they're all the same."

"Yeah. um, this has this time around 'cause I I we go through these a lot. I bought the one that has the joystick."

"Oh, that's so cool."

"I like it 'cause you can really look around, but at the same time, like if you have a V8, for in our case with Toyota V8 with valley plate leaks, they have a plate under the intake that loves to leak. You have foam around and you need to push this through in the middle of the foam to see underneath the intake. This kind of tends to curve and you can't. That's the only downside of it. But we go through this cameras a lot because we look inside Boroscope cylinders a lot and they're hot and they tend to cook these over time. So look at this one is already kind of"

"This is a laser. We use this actually for ADAS calibration."

"Okay."

"'Cause it just draws the center line of the car and it helps a lot 'cause otherwise you're using string and it just takes forever."

"This is a lockout kit. So, if you lock out yourself out of your car, you can push the door and whatnot. Do you know something interesting about these lockout kits? So, if you haven't seen one, they don't call them lockout kits anymore on online. So, you basically put this wedge, pump the window, and then use the rods to go through and unlock the door."

"Apparently, there's a legality thing with calling them a lockout kit."

"Really?"

"So when you go online, it just says tool kit."

"Really?"

"So tool for what? You can see the picture and tell. It's just weird. Look it up on Amazon. It's very strange."

"It's interesting."

"This is a If you're a Toyota technician, you already know what this is. This is a target for recognition camera. The camera on the dash for the ADAS. This is how you calibrate it. It needs to see this picture at a specific height and distance. So we just printed these out with a repair manual, made them with the backing. So we have them."

"This one is a thermal imager. You know, I don't know if you've used one of these. Actually pretty cool. So, it shows you where the hot spots are at any given point."

"This is really useful for first any seat heater concerns. This is how you know your seat heater is actually coming on. Is it part of the grid off? Part of it is on defrosters. If you want to see, okay, you're you got the car, you don't want to turn on the defroster inside. You can turn on for a moment, look at it, you'll see immediately which grid is working, which one is not."

"And then the other thing I use it a lot for electrical diagnosis."

"So you have a parasitic draw, let the car sit for a few hours with the battery connected, fully charged, then go look around, you immediately see what's on."

"That's awesome."

"It's pretty cool. It does work like that. But this one is made by Top Don."

"'Cause the floor one was very expensive. This one was I'm like, you know what? I'll take a chance. We'll see. It's actually amazing. It works really good. That's good to hear. I don't regret buying this one. I'm really happy with it."

"Not as much as right now. I just if something breaks that is from the old old school stuff that I have that was never a brand or something, I try to change it with something a little bit better that kind of last with me, but not as much. Yeah."

I love these zip ties. So, this is, you know, when you pop a wire harness out and the clip breaks. This is actually what makes that. So, this is a zip tie that you pull on the harness and now you have a clip to clip it into. This is a size that works for Toyota. I'm pretty sure it's for other manufacturers, too. Works pretty good."

"You might be wondering, why do we have a uh this very strange tool from Michaels?"

"So, for Toyota and I don't know, maybe other manufacturers. This is actually a sewing tool."

"A sewing tool. Okay."

"Yes."

"So, this You see this plastic piece? If you have two pieces of fabric, you put this in between them. You put the needle in between. It pushes this piece of plastic. You see it a lot. Laundry mats will use this."

"Is that like what clothes would have a price tag on?"

"This is what that exactly what that is. But so do seat heaters on cars."

"Really?"

"So the actual heater element inside the seat uh that's how they attach it to the like the leather or the fabric of the seat."

"Woah. So if you are replacing a either replacing the heater element or you are replacing the whole seat cover and it doesn't come with the element, you have to swap it. You we actually use this to attach it."

"It's flat out. um, usually the first time, look, let me tell you something. If you live in California and you have no rust, you broke a bolt, that'll work. If you live in the real world where bolts break all the time like here or rusty land, there is no tool in the world that'll make the job easier other than you drilling things out and dealing with the broken stuff. That's just part of the job. No tool will make life easier. You know, you look in their ad and maybe it looks so seamless. It never works out. And that's just a total waste of money. At least for me. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm not, you know, my application is not what they intended, but God bless them. They're nice quality tools, but they don't work from what I'm seeing."

"But the tool that I I don't see a lot of folks talk about, and of course, I have a broken one off. Oh, here it is. This one. So, this is a is a drill bit and tap at the same time that as you drill actually makes threads and we're done. What actually works? I mean, I was so skeptical when I bought this. I'm like, come on. This is too good to be true. It actually works."

"I feel like you would just make a hole. Like I cuz it's spinning."

"It's just amazing how it works 'cause the drill bit is slightly smaller than this part. So once you've drilled it, but you This is There's one thing to know about this. You can drill a very deep place. But again, this is like a M6x1. usually don't have a large panel that has M6 drilled through it. So, for example, if you have like a a body panel with a welded nut at the bottom that is M61, this is perfect for that. Like we use this a lot on like um battery hold down for Toyotas. The front bolt loves to break. It'll take you two seconds with this. Really?"

"This is a tap die set. My original set. I told I actually bought this used from from a technician that was retiring when I started. This is a very old set. Like old. This one snap-on set. "I'm okay with it being a cheapo tool because it's not something you're heavily relying on, but this comes in handy when you have a um a transmission cable going to the side of the transmission. So on Toyotas, you have a bracket that sits on on the shaft that comes out of the transmission. It has a tiny little 12 mm nut from rust. If this nut seizes, it snaps the shaft and now you got to drop the valve body to replace that whole shaft. So this comes in handy. I just cut the nut. Comes right up."

"AC gauge set. Feel like technicians don't use that anymore almost like they use the the the like the AC machine to use it as a gauge. I don't know. I still like that gauge. This is this actually they replaced my old gauge that was like falling apart. I don't even trust it anymore. I don't think it's accurate."

"This is one of the tools that they're very proud of. This is very old school. Any Toyota technician knows exactly what this is. I thought I showed it to you. You get a good chuckle out of it. This is the locker. Here is where I It's work in progress. Let's put it this way. So, over here, the biggest drawer jumper pack. Use this a lot. This is the case with all the accessories for the scan tool, like some additional cables or whatnot. This is some uh it's actually I bought these from Amazon. Use them a lot."

"Cups. There's a lot of them. And this is one of the best tools ever made. smoke machine from Snap-on. Whoa."

"It's not just a smoke machine. It actually tells you if the system passes or not for leaks."

"No kidding."

"So, you look here, you see it. You can select the size of leak. So, I think very very old cars used to be 40. That's the size of the leak that is allowed. Most cars are 20. The very newest ones are 10. So you select the size of the leak and it'll display how much is leaking here and it'll tell you pass or fail. So if you're if you hook up hook up this machine to a car and it's like 0.15 and the car is rated at 20. Well, this passes even though you have a leak, it's within spec and that's the cool thing about this. The government allows you to have a specific amount of leak on the evap system. That's normal. But the leak cannot be bigger than a pinhole the size of 20,000."

"I see."

"That's the idea of that. So this tells you how large how big is the leak. And if you all of a sudden you're so close, you know that your leak is something minute. Or if it's all of a sudden it's like infinite, you have a large leak. You immediately can tell not just smoke. It tells you how big is a leak. That's pretty cool."

"So you can do a confirmed fix with this instead of having to do a drive test."

"Exactly."

"Wow. That's a cool thing."

"Best tool ever. Expensive. Very expensive. I"

"I mean, we did not have this at the dealership. And I was like, I must buy this."

"Yeah. This one. So, when I bought the stool box, I did get the lights. And there's a Hutch light supposedly, but uh apparently Snap-on can't uh they can make the box. Can't make a light."

"Over here. Got some I am a big fan of ScotchBrite pads for cleaning. They work great. This is a laptop with which is also a scan tool actually for Toyota. This is a second one in case 'cause the guys use these as well."

"They have some scan tools on that side, but in case we have a kind of a traffic jam, there's these two on standby. This is just an old laptop that I used to have and now I purposed it for this. Use these actually a lot. Compression gauge, leak down test gauge. These are the best. I I've never never really had a single issue with these either. Snap-on. This is a Snap-On impact driver, like a impact screwdriver set. This is something I I don't know why I bought, but I bought snap ring plier set from Mac Tools."

"Works. I feel like uh we're trending on the excessive amount of uh you know,"

"This is technically the power drawer. And you see told you I don't have well I got some uh some of my old Milwaukee stuff. Some got a hammer drill, regular drill. And this is what I use for interiors actually with the other set. And got a drill impact and a a screw like a bit driver. Some chargers. These are great lights that I use a lot actually from Snap-on. This is really very expensive. When I bought them, I'm like I hope they're really good. I love them. They work really good."

"So, with those lights, do you have a like a go-to light that you always reach for?"

"Oh, okay. Stylus. Okay."

"And this is kind of a junk drawer. Eventually, I want to work on getting this stuff situated in a drawer that actually we didn't look at. It's empty yet. I'm trying to repurpose it so I can use this for other stuff. Same thing with the bottom one. Bottom one, I'm not going to open it. better spite. It's a mess."

"This is the cheapest best tool I've ever bought for electrical diagnosis. So, Amazon very inexpensive. This comes with every single pin configuration you want. You can just instead of using like a Tpin and all that, you just use something like that or like this where you can clip into a connector for a specific pin and do your diagnosis. This works great. You know, meter leads here. This is the my daily driver for diagnostic power probe. This is the old power probe."

"Awesome."

"It works great. don't have reason to upgrade to the newest one because I have this this is one of those purchases that I've used it three times. It's slow. It has too much going on. Certain tools you need them to be simple. I just need the thing to work and work very fast. This is what this does. This takes it takes it like 5 10 seconds just to re to boot up and then you're waiting for the features and it's like slow and buggy. This is like all right electrical diagnostic drawer. So this is a relay bypass kit from Lyall which is really cool. This is my multimeter. I finally retired my old multimeter."

"It's a new one. It works pretty good. Fortunately the fuse is blown."

"And let let me let me just say something here before somebody comments on the fuse that is blown. Usually when you do a parasitic draw and like the you're using the amp meter here only amateurs will blow the fuse because they touch the leads together."

"Do you know how the fuse blew in this one?"

"We had an IS-250 that's parasitic jaw. So I had the thing connected and this car had a weird electrical problem. All of a sudden everything would shut down and come back. They had a problem with the fuse block. It set the alarm. Oh no."

"Immediately blow the fuse. Stop."

"Oh no."

"'Cause yeah, old school uh electrical diagnostician. If you blow your amp fuse, you're an amateur. I'm not an amateur. I promise. I hope so. I hope not at this point. But that's how it's blew."

"This is actually a very cool uh kit. So, this is a special tool from Toyota. Um, this is used to do certain jumps on the OBD2 connector, like mostly for older stuff. Like if you get a new computer for older Toyotas that are OBD2, you put this one on, leave it for 30 minutes, it'll program the computer to the VIN to the immobilizer. Sorry, not the VIN."

"Huh."

"Some of these are like for the older stuff that ABS, I think the yellow one was airbag. Um, I don't remember which one. I have to look them up usually, but you connect one of them and it'll show you airbag codes on the light flashing. The old stuff that you could not access with a scan tool. This works really good. I mean, you you can I mean, it's basically just jumpering two pins together. You can get a little piece of wire, but if you work on so many of them of the same brand, just get this. It actually comes in handy a lot."

"This one is a breakout box for speed sensors. Actually works really good. I love this 'cause you can really like connect your this through your speed sensor and you have access"

"to for a this is mainly for a scope if you have a problem with speed sensors also."

"Same thing as the other one that we saw this is the extension of of that and I want to show you a few relics here this is my old meter I've used this once and it doesn't actually work but I kept it 'cause I was hoping we could do this and see parasitic draw doesn't work like that."

"Oh, really?"

"'Cause this is meant for household. But this one does work for that. This is a Snap-On one for that meter. This does work for that."

"This is actually a Toyota tool to bypass airbags for diagnostic purposes. Let's say you have you have an airbag light. You have airbag code for for one of the airbags. Well, you see this one has two pins here."

"Okay?"

"You take these pins like let's say you got a driver side that"

Steering wheel airbag that is setting a code. Well, is it the airbag or is it the spiral cable or the clock spring? Spiral cable, by the way, is another term Toyota uses for clock spring.

Okay, you connect this where the airbag would go. If the light goes away, you have a problem with the airbag itself. If the light doesn't go away, you go behind the spiral cable. The airbag connects to the spiral cable. You put this in. If your code goes away, you've got a bad spot vehicle or clock spring. No light set from OTC. This works really good. Another disappointment, unfortunately. I love Power Probe, really like their stuff, except this one. And I told them, you know, last year at SEMA, I saw some of the folks from Power Probe. I told them, really disappointed in this. This is a tool that can show you parasitic draw over one single fuse. So you put this on the fuse, it shows you immediately how much amps that fuse is drawing.

Mhm. Sounds great. Yeah. Not very accurate. That's what I'm seeing. That's the only disappointment. They said you may have a defective unit. What? I don't know with me. You got one chance to. This is kind of a random drawer. Short open circuit finder. This is a really good tool from, uh, Power Probe. It basically simulates like it, it helps you find where the shorts are in the circuit.

This is another Toyota special tool. Every single wheel lock. Oh, nice. Wheel lock set. This is for newer stuff. This is for like old Lexus. But, uh, we have multiple of these in the shop. We use them a lot because, uh, these are impact rated. Oh, really? And the ones the customer gets are not. So, plus, I don't want to mess with the one the customer has. If something broke or something happens, now we're stuck. We use our own set. These break from time to time because we use them a lot. We just replace them individually and that's it. But this is a full set. This is. And this is the problem with aftermarket stuff. This. I'm going to tell you something. I'll tell you this in case somebody out there, this will help them. There's two sets you'll find out there. There's this one, which looks a lot more serious, and then this one. Yeah, you got. This is a useless set. Really? None of these ever. I don't know what the application is where this works. I think only one of them works. The rest never. On the other hand, every single one of these is exactly what we need for every single aftermarket application out there. I've never had one where where it's not here. Looks can be deceiving, right? You're looking for a universal set for your shop. Buy this one. Not this one.

Then this is. I want to show you this one. This one is a heartbreaker. This one. This is the coolest useless tool on the planet. So, initially, when you look at it, okay, well, it's just a socket set except. So this is a very innocent-looking 3/8 ratchet except it's electric. Ah, that's so cool. Except when you use it in the real world, it never. It has absolutely, like, you have to have a bolt that is literally perfect thread. Any little thing, the thing jams and it can't. It doesn't have it doesn't have enough power. Oh, no. I supposedly, like, you broke something loose and you put this. Run it all the way out. It's okay, that's fine. We're not tightening with it. But you have one tiny little piece of dirt. It stops. It just. I wish it had a little bit more power, but at the same time, I understand. I mean, look, look. Yeah. Some heat gun over here. We rarely use this, but it's there should we need it.

Now, we we start climbing. This is special tools. And these are custom-made special tools, like seal installers, you name it. All Toyota. Look at that. All 3D printed. So, the person that does these, and he's actually a really close friend, so I'll show you. His company is called L3D. Okay? His name is Luke. He makes special tools for Toyota stuff. So, this one, UZ 2. These are engine names. V8s, crank, front, main seal. Oh, it tells you exactly what it is. Yeah, because he's he's used to be a Lexus technician. Oh, that's awesome. So, all custom-made, all in-house, specific for Toyota. If you work on Toyota Lexus, he's got you covered for whatever you need. For example, see if I can find one. This is an axle seal installer specific to a specific model. And these numbers correspond to a special tool from the repair manual. Really? Yes. Wow. Now, they're not exactly the tool from the repair manual, but they basically wrote these numbers for you. When you see it in the repair manual, you can actually match it, and this will work exactly. That's amazing. That's a cool thing. Let me see. Here we go. This is, as the name says, 80 series Land Cruiser front inner axle seal installer. Very difficult seal to install. And if you. I'm trying to find the one that has an. Here we go. Well, this one, this one has like a couple millimeter overdrive. The idea is these seals cut a groove in the axle, and you don't want to replace the axle for that one groove. So you drive the seal 2 mm in. Now it sits on a new surface. M. This is. This tool does not exist from the factory. I mean, it installs the seal at a specific depth, and that's it. But this one overdrives it, but just a little bit, and it stops leaking. Wow. We have a full drawer. Luke, you're awesome. If you're watching, I hope we represent you very well because you're awesome.

This one is the brake line drawer. This is the greatest tool to make brake lines. So, it has. This is hydraulic to compress the thing and make the fitting. That's great. Only thing about this one, it's a little bulky if you're doing something in the car. Tight with space. But, uh. This is the graveyard. Oh, that's why it's so high. Graveyard. Sorry, guys. The graveyard. Do you remember much earlier I told you in case somebody doesn't know what the what the Hammerhead Ingresoll Rand Hammerhead is? This is that. This was the world's first air ratchet, but it's an impact. So this does not kick back and bust your knuckle. This is actually an impact. Very cool. Had some use on it. A few miles on it. There's a lot here. And then toward the end, in the very last, I want to show it to you. This is actually pretty cool. The last air tool that I bought was this one. This is an impact. What? Yes, it is. Actually, very cool. It's like, wow, why didn't we have this from day one? And then literally two weeks later, I bought my Milwaukee ratchet and I never used it again. Half-inch Ingresoll Rand quiet. This is a titanium. This was the biggest deal back in the day. Now what? Any little Milwaukee will overpower this three times. But this one is actually very good. I still. This one every once in a while, I'll use it just for old time's sake.

Over here, if I can reach and see what's over here. This is a very cool special tool from Toyota. You'll be surprised by this one. This one noise kit. Noise. Foam to use to quiet down interiors. Really? Yeah. This is actually an official kit from Toyota. You can buy this kit as a part from the parts department of a dealership. Huh. And comes with all kinds of foam. It's automotive-grade foam. It's the same stuff they use to insulate cars. If you have squeaks and rattles and, you know, panels rattling, use this to quiet it down. Oh, okay. Cylinder head stands. We use those. You can put two of them. And then sit the cylinder head on it. You can work on it. That is the toolbox, man. The last couple drawers, folks. They have like the manual for the toolbox, some extra power cords, I think some cords. This one has some cords for the scantool that are extra, and this one's empty.

Uh, I mean, I do have a few more questions if you don't mind. Go ahead. You said you had uh five technicians. Currently, five technicians. I'm the sixth. So, was it difficult going from, uh, I guess, you know, wrenching for someone like a dealer, then having your own place, then hiring people? Is that. It was interesting because I still had some issues not with the dealership, with the automotive industry. How do things, for example, the pay structure, how you treat your technicians, what you expect out of your technicians. How shops are never run by technicians. I mean, literally, people go to a shop to fix their car, not to have a chitchat with the service advisor. Yet the service advisors always prevail over technicians. It's like, why is that the case? Mhm. So, I wanted to make a shop that was run by technicians. There's no service advisors. We do not have service advisors. Really? You come in the shop, your car needs diagnosis. I talk to you, and then we look at the car, and I talk to you at the end. That's it. No service. And if I'm tied up, I'm busy, I'm not available. Uh, one of our technicians. What's wrong with technicians talking to people? This is the person who's going to fix your car. I'm sorry. When you have heart surgery, do you talk to the nurse, then never see the surgeon? That's kind of ridiculous. You talk to the surgeon, don't you? Right. Oh, now the surgeon is a surgeon. He's not a customer service representative. But why, why have we trained our technicians to not want to talk to customers? Mhm. That's a problem. I always tell my technicians, go ask the customer. Like, what is the stigma about the automotive industry of we don't want to ask the customer, we don't want to talk? No, call them 10 times if you need to. It's. It's in their best interest you're looking for. Sometimes at a dealership, like, "Hey, this car needs this additional." Okay, great. Then two hours later, you're in a big job. "Hey, we also need this." Well, I can't keep calling the customer. Why not? I mean, don't they want their car fixed? Shouldn't we just inform them as things unfold? I can't tell the future. That's. I don't have X-ray vision. But I decided against service. Nothing against service advisors. Good service advisors are good service advisors, and they're really good. They do a fine job. Unfortunately, that's becoming rarer and rarer these days. You got some kids that are trying. They don't even know how the car works. But how are you going to advise people? We started the shop with a different mentality. I'm like, I don't sell work. I don't, you know, let's do coupons and discounts and mailing lists and all this stuff. I don't do that. You know what? I'm a mechanic. I fix cars. I don't do all that stuff. You come in, car has a problem, you want a full inspection, you know, annual inspection, what have you. We're going to look at the car, tell you what it needs, tell you where everything is at. If I think the car is too far gone, I'm going to tell you that for you to actually consider that part as well. Give you an estimate for what it needs, and have a nice day. I don't sell you work because I'm not a salesman. But if you want to fix your car, that's fix your car. If you want to do it by priority, okay, this is, you know what? Um, your brakes that are about to go metal-to-metal are a lot more important than the spark plugs. Your life does not depend on the spark plugs, but they do depend on your brakes that are metal or metal. So, how about we do it by priority? Because when do we start in this automotive industry putting ourselves in the customer's shoe, not in our pocket shoe? Because that's all we. All shops, not all. I have to be fair here. A lot of shops are not like that. But when do we stop being all about us and start being about the customer? That's that's the reality. When do we think of our customer? Because, you know what? Do you know how many shop, how many jobs I cancel here and convince the customer not to do because I don't think it's the right thing? They're making a mistake. That's who we care about. The people, not the car. The car is just a machine. They could sell it. They can replace it. You could crash tomorrow and go to the to the junkyard, but the people who matter. In the automotive industry, a lot of folks look at customers as a bank. That's who's going to pay my bills. No, you taking care of them and them trusting you is what's going to keep you going. I actually advise shop owners out there, drop the sales gimmicks. Just fix cars. That's all. All shops that are busy, that's what they do. They don't have service advisors. They're not trying to push work and sell work. No, when you get a car, I look at it as, what does this car need to be safe, reliable for the customer? That's all we care about. Not, what can I do to this car to help my bottom line? No. That's a bad mentality. Unfortunately, that's out there. Yeah, I've seen that. Uh, it that's such a different way of how I see a lot of shops run where they have, uh, the, they call it front shop and back shop, and it's like they, they divide the whole, the whole company into two pieces, and it's like they're fighting for their paycheck, and the technicians are fighting for their paycheck. And so to be able to do that, to be able to, uh, tell customers, you know, this may not be the right move, I could just see how you'd have such loyal customers. That's, you know, they come care about the people, they care about you. It's a very simple process. You know what? We're so blessed here. We're busy. We got work. Our bills are paid. Our kids are fed. We have a roof over our head. I'm not a greedy person. You become greedy in this industry, it's bad news. Flat out. Just take care of your family. We all have families to feed. We all work very hard. We all want to make a living. We all want better things for our kids. We all have that. But don't be greedy because, equally, that you want this stuff, the people you're working on their car, they have the same thing. Here's here's the way the automotive industry have kind of flipped itself upside down. Some folks will do all these games to customers, and then that customer is an electrician. They'll turn around, raise their prices, and affect somebody else, and then that, that kind of keeps rolling, and then next thing you know, everything you buy is very expensive because something's got to give. I don't get it. Honestly. We are so blessed here. We have a lot of work. We're booked two months out at any given time. Plus. Man. What is this the secret sauce? It's not secret. There's no secret. Just take care of your people. It's as simple as that. Take care of your people. Do quality work. Don't care about your bottom line, flat out. And your bottom line will be higher than you have ever seen it in your life. I can't wrap my head around it. It's just such a good, uh, a good way to run a shop. I, I, I wish more shops would operate that way. That's when they stop looking at their numbers and start looking at their people, that's when they'll see it. And, you know what? When they do that process, slowly, within a matter of a year, things will flip around. Their numbers will be good because people trust you. People care about you. Your technicians come and work happy. We're going to work very hard. Yeah, they'll be tired. They have their moments. They'll be upset at things, but they will work tirelessly because they, they're not working just for a paycheck. They believe in what you're doing. And and that's that's the most important thing. Do we work for a paycheck or do we work because we take pride in what we do? We take pride in what you do and love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. It's as simple as that. I love that. I love that. Last question. I promise. I'll take your time. I mean, you have, uh, immigrated to this this country, to the United States, and you have built the American dream. You have created a business that's wildly successful. So, you have a YouTube channel that has 1.76 million subscribers, and your profession is just, it's just amazing. Thank you. How, how do you have time to do it all? I don't. Work hard, folks. Sometimes, unfortunately, not all folks, but some folks take things for granted. You know, where I come from, it was a privilege to have electricity. It was a privilege to go out home and know that you're going to come back home without hurt. This is a great country. The land of opportunity. And some folks say that's gone, and that's this, and that's. Folks, the world out there is a very ugly place, or can be a very ugly place. This is a great country. Here, you have to work very hard. Like, I used to think that I worked hard, and then I pushed myself some more. I'm like, "Wow, I am really reaching the limit here. Like, I'm that's it. I'm going to shut down." And all of a sudden, that limit starts going further and further. Huh? I could do this. All of a sudden, you went from having your 12-hour beauty sleep to 8-hour beauty sleep to 6-hour to 3-hour to 2-hour sometimes, even, you know, your. The human capability is limitless. It's amazing how much you can you can condition yourself to do things. Hard work. I, you know, I came to this country, me and my wife, we had nothing. Absolutely. We had $3,500 in our pocket thereabout. We had nothing else. Everything we have, we have worked very hard for from day one. And when you, when you know some people start from zero, we were starting below zero. When you have that, you just can't take it for granted. You got to work very hard. And we work very hard, tirelessly, day and night. We have our kids. We're trying to push them so they would do even better than us. That's the biggest thing to me. You know, as much as I love this country, and I will assimilate, there's always moments where it's like, okay, I'm a stranger here still. You know, I immigrated here, this and that. That will come, of course, right? You can't. You can't wipe your history. That doesn't work like that. But my kids won't have that. And that in itself is a big, big thing. You know, they're not going to have to feel the the weight of immigrating somewhere and doing all this. Uh, we do it all for them. But it's. It's very hard work. It's it's not easy. It's, uh, stressful, and it just pushes you to the limit, living on three hours sleep, days, and just keep going all in. But, you know what? What helps make this all easier is I love what I do.
