I want to start out by talking about the specifics of the North and the South node because my understanding of the North and the South node over the over the course of time deepens and evolves and um gets richer so I like to revisit just the basic understanding of what they are because the North and the South node are known as a shadow planets they don't even exist it's um it's a very esoteric uh part of the chart and as such I think it's a bit harder to understand because it doesn't have a real concrete something you know you can't you can't see it it's not visible when you look up anywhere it's just the intersection of the Sun and the Moon and how we uh you know use the math to arrive at the intersecting nature of the Sun and then past and future dark and light yin and yang it's the it's like the entirety of of it all the black and white and how that fuses to create the results of this particular particular Incarnation this particular lifetime so I'm going to switch over and look at my notes and read from my nose since I can't do both on this extremely agent iPad so I will talk while I look at my notes so let's start with the North Node because we're going to be learning through contrast when we understand the North and the South node and we have they're always going to be opposite to each other the North and the South node they are balancing forces and there is a cyclical motion that happens with them so when we envision a dragon swallowing its own tail that is the image of the North and the South you know the often viic astrology we definitely come to understand is the the motion of these two bodies just making sure nobody else is winning in it doesn't look like we're looks like we're on our own today uh where did my notes go oh my god did they erase there's no way there's no way that happened just one moment here um wow did all of my notes just erase there one they did that is crazy wow I have really good moods there just let to make sure oh here we go I found it under recently deleted that's a new feature thank God that that is there I didn't realize I could do that all righty that was close so the north nodes is where we have the dragon's head the South noes so we have the dragon's tail and the North Node is where the ego is holding us in it's it's where the aim of the ego is too small so so it's really the totality of of the chart really but planets and aspect to the North Node are going to show that uh that particular aspect of our s that need that behavior is um in particular is something that has to be gone beyond or transcended or it's it's a part of the ego structure that is in particular a um part of the doing and part of the karma a part of the call towards going Beyond it and it can also be something that we experience a planet in aspect of the north no we can experience it as um is something that holds us back karmically and uh we indulge in materially so the environment is our Dragon you have to look at the house and the environment is you know going to be that dragon as we see it within oursel as it reflects within ourself and the sign is going to be the call the Bliss that we have to follow there's a lot of Mythology about dragons there's a lot of Mythology about um you know slaying the Dragon and uh how the dragon it uh hoardes it Hoards treasure and if you think about it the mythology of the Dragons very interesting it often lives in a cave uh you know a very plutonic place and it hoardes something guards or something a dragon is very selfish often has treasure uh Riches of some kind it it uh it is not a generous figure and there is something fearsome about it it's scary it breathes fire it um represents a threat to civilization those who are civilized around those who must live within any amount of uh vicinity of this dragon and two the dragon in mythology is often seen as a test uh that the brave or that those who are looking to earn something those who are looking to go on a journey of Bravery that takes them outside of themselves something that's adventurous of proves himself something that shows aspects of themselves TOS that previously were unknown they go out to slay the dragon and the dragon is both of those things really uh within us it is the uh you know the boundaries of the ego and it uh is also that Force within us that wants to slay that that wants to go beyond being held captive that wants to get rid of that force that threatening force of captivity that's really what the North Node is showing us is that that Journey towards something Beyond ourself and how we find fulfillment within that go back and gra my notes here so the Bliss that we follow um that's the North Node it's what we might be afraid to embrace but it feeds us if we do and it's what we feel that we cannot do because the ego is locking Us in so you know it's that career that that that talent that that Vision you know what it is that we want but we think oh I couldn't do that I I I shouldn't do that how could you know how could I think that I could have that those are the boundaries that uh that that that keep us from pursuing or having the kind of bliss that we really feel that if there were no rules if everything was on the table if all options were there that's what we would be doing that's the life that we would be leading that's that call of the North Node and then we see the opposing South node and we're going to talk more about the south node as we go on but the South node is the Dragon's Tail it's where we comfortably reside in what is our already developed the gifts we bring into this life that are natural to us so it's what we rely on and uh planets and aspect of the North Node is is showing us where the ego is slowing us down the North Node is really the eye of the needle that the rest of the chart threads through in terms of integration in terms of of um how we can bring the world to life when we really thread that needle because we have a very precarious balance here between North and South ner when we live vitally this is what inspires change there's no Force there's no directly asserting energy to change anything it's not plutonic type of change it's more something where when we follow our Bliss we change through inspiration we change through leadership we change through example we excite others so the North Node is where we're pushing out of our own existence our known comfort zone stretching the boundaries of the ego so opportunities are going to present themselves at the North Node doors are going to open that we could not have imagined life was going to take twists and turns we could not foresee because the goings on are out of the boundaries of what we've thought about life or of ourselves it's out of the boundaries of the ego itself it's in this vital place that's not in that's not a part of how we stagnantly think ourself up that pulls us to enlarge in that so these are unique doors these are opportunities that are very specific to us when we heed that call of the North Node when when we go into the unknown when we make these discoveries that really are outside of the you could say the stagnant way that we imagine oursel to be so so we're going to squish through the proverbial eye of the needle and it creates an Integrity in the process it's like being in the ringer on a washing machine how you go through that or how you put Play-Doh through one of those um then or clay through a a processor that you know thins it makes it very very very you know paper thin that's what's happening as we're going through the North Node so it creates this more this integration uh because a bunch of parts of us I mean really all of us hopefully is going to be leaping through that eye in order to get the most out of life we get something different so it's our Bliss and if if we follow it we're going to have to develop what um inside of us is going to take to take a chance to do something different and so let's talk a little bit more about the s node how the South node pins us down so that's the eye of the pen the needle I'm I'm sorry that's the the not the eye of the pen that's the point of the pen the sou no is the point of the pen the I is the North Node where we thread oursel through so the South node um is pinning us down this is off and com comfort and the security of remaining and what we know about ourselves uh choosing to remain in what we know about life so this is the this the solid stories of experience that we have here so it's what we know it has a similar quality to the moon the South node it they both represent familiarity but they are not the same they don't come from the same thing and the Bliss that we are pulled towards at the North Node that brings an obliviousness to everything else and we're that's what we're going towards is that place where we're in the zone now we can be in the zone either the North or the South node it depends on your definition of what the zone is if the zone is that place where you are in your element you're doing something love you're caught up in something or you are you know doing what it is that sweeps you away you know you get into that place where it's more effortless where you are not trying it's it's you're there you're just there and sports you know people that play sports uh musicians you know people that often get into a craft they can they know this feeling it's almost of being abandoning yourself and being in this place of just being in the moment and being in the flow so when we we are in the flow this is where we are most alive and it's really this point of Abandonment of ourself because we're not thinking about reinforcing the ego that's something that we've really left behind in those moments and that's why we are so free why it is so exhilarating to be doing that thing that we love so there's this obliviousness that can come at the North Node but planets aspecting the North Node are going to um show where we have to penetrate through or deal with our ego story sometimes they'll reinforce the ego story um it shows where we're going to have to stretch where we're going to have to escape stories that that are about us that that really constitute our idea of self and world with with the boundaries of the ego and the North Node itself the sign of it is what we feel called towards it's what we feel we need to do more of at the South node is what we can often do too much of is what's develop so the North Node is where we find fulfillment the South node is where we find comfor for you know different people are drawn more heavily towards words one or the other other and sometimes it can be situational in one aspect of life or when it comes to one need we can be drawn towards Adventure fulfillment and other ways we can just you know choose what's easy and I think that life is a balance it is a balance of the North and the South node because there will be some things that we just choose to enjoy as they are and that's the self node just let it be as it is we don't change it we just choose to exist in it and then there's other things that we feel called to take action towards or to go towards or to attract or that we want to change and life is a balance of the two so the South node does create a sucking sound we do have this we see the South node as a drain um you can see it where the dragon excretes even and that uh that sucking sound that drain draws us into its draining actions and energy we do see a a draining effect at at the South node and in that we don't have a lot of inspiration or draw towards something new and um it's it's we're not fed at the South node there's just Comfort there isn't growth so we feel the tug of the North Node towards growth and fulfillment and at the same time the tug of the South node towards what is pulling us and it's a downward sucking motion so we could look at the the karmic spiral with the South node taking energy struggle to escape and when we identify our Bliss at the North Node it gives us this Vitality this energy causes us to swim towards something that saves us from the Eternal spiral so the doing at the North Node is what creates the second Karma at the South node we want to get away from the uh that draining spinning motion that's you know suying us down like a a spinning Vortex and so we effort we do at the North Node and this is what's so interesting about the North and South node this is often was overlooked this part the more effortless the action is at the North Node the less sucking Karma at the South node so the less we struggle at the North Node the less we want it the less we chase it the easier it comes the less we feel caught pin down which causes us to feel like we must do something we must escape to get a different result the very Dow the South node North Node a lot of people that this is really really what they do not understand the struggle on either end is what creates more struggle creates more karma so the North Node is that Focus this effort to escape ourselves and the less we focus the less we struggle the more we simply follow our Bliss the more we're going to find that fulfillment so the North Node can be this insatiable desire to find material happiness and the happiness of the ego and it creates more struggle that that need so it's identifying our Bliss and the North Node is describing an array of possibilities which we will find the specifics of uh in our life um in following our Bliss it's often for most people going to require that that they go beyond what they already believe about themselves because for most of us our Bliss is outside of what we already have it's outside of what we're creating as a result of how we already think ourselves up and so that stretching if we're identifying um the stretching that's required of the ego if we are identifying only what is going to feed our ego because this is the Maya this is the illusion that can occur at the North Node if our idea of bliss is something that is illus is something that is coming out purely as a way to soothe and justify and strengthen the ego this is where the North Node becomes a malefic and both the North the North Node is is in eastern astrology know is very malefic as very um evil as a a difficult thing and the South note is known as beneficial and we decide we Define it differently in the West we see the South now as something that's malefic because it is about loss rather than gain spirituality giving up um and the north is about material gain so getting success uh fulfillment and you really have to look at the definition here I mean you can see both of them both ways you can have the they are in my mind both ways you can have the the the Bliss the Fulfillment the Rapture of the North Node if you are identifying what is truly Blissful but if you are not properly identify what real Bliss is if you're going towards an illus concept of it which is something that's going to be contained within and rooted to and available only within material reality it's only something that uh will engage in it in in in this lifetime we don't get to take any of that with us because we're not escap we're not growing in any spiritual way that's the mix of the North and the South is that our blissus have the spiritual component it's purely material at the North Node and we can develop qualities we can be driven to uh develop things or to yeah to stretch aspects of ourself in order to get things at the North Node um but we're not it's not real it's not the mo you have to look at the motivation if the motivation is to enrich ourselves only in an egoistic way or in a material way we may get those things so this is where the malefic part of the North Node comes in and Rec create that more um Karma that pins us down so often times you have to a really good way to understand the the difference between the pole the motivation at the North and the South node is to look at how people seek enlightenment or why what is the motivation there for most people it's to feel better they want to transcend themselves they want to be enlightened they want that that you know that full spiritual fulfillment so the ego feels better about itself so they do have um yeah this happiness that's really defined by the ego and that's that root that we get into the dragon's head swollowing its own tail and it's not a worldly Bliss that ultimately it's not the Bliss of the ego ultimately that we are getting the best out of at the North Node it's just there's so much illusion there about what is going to make us fulfilled richer better faster sexier and it's more of identifying what it is outside of what is of what uh what is temporary what is um ephemera what is what is real Bliss for us you have to look at the sign that the north Noe is coming through because there's a material side there's something the ego is going to get out of that sign and there's something that spiritually we could get out of that sign so what is the lasting Bliss that we could have there it's the kind of bliss that does not create Karma because there's a flow so always imagine a a drain you know that spinning lortex and our feet are caught in it Vortex spinning spinning spinning spinning there's that sucking once the pole is down but our heads above water and we can see the North Node we can see that what it is that we are swimming towards resisting at the South node and going towards at that North Node reaching up towards swimming toward wordss trying to escape that Vortex and the pull actually becomes stronger the more that we struggle to get out of it the more that we struggle at the North Node you have to look at it like um you know the natural force that's exerted the you if I have these scissors here pull on one and I mean there's a there's an extreme force it has to come this way so if we're you know pulling pulling pulling um this end you know like this too exerting a lot of it energy this way so it's a lot of energy to do the extreme equal amount of energy to pull at both ends but if there's a relaxation that's there this is where we get in the flow relaxation um you could look at it like a rip tide that been caught in a rip tide when you're in the ocean and you're swimming in a rip tide is when you're you're swimming but a tide comes a stronger tide that we usually underneath that you can't see it grabs you and it takes you and if you struggle if you struggle if you struggle if you struggle you are not likely to be able to get out of it and you will wear yourself out and you might brown but if you float if you relax and you allow it to take you where it's going to take you eventually it will let you go and you can swim back to where it is that you want it to be so we have to we have to relax out of the Restriction the boundaries of the ego in order to really access the North Node in in a very Dow way in a way that we are we we're not pushing and not pulling there's an extreme Duality that we're dealing with say this is the results in a nutshell you're existed in Duality what we get self Lo and when we go with the flow when we are heeding the call this is often what the flow is we heed that call of what it is that we feel we want it's going to feed us not in an egoic way in in something's bigger than that and something that is exhilarating in that kind of way in a way that we know it's good for us we know the difference between being called to make ourself feel better say from making or finding more money or making oursel feel better through developing the character that you know it shows the sign of the kind of security that we have within us so we're not as concerned with having outside sources of security through money so we are um needing to look at what are the qualities of the sign that are North no is in and often times we have a dream we have a dream that's related to what the North Node is and we have a reservation related to what the South Noe is we have something that we do something we fall back on and if we find a balance between the two we can actually have extremely good success in terms of using the best of what we've got to get what it is that we want but it has to be outside of what we already think isn't that funny because we're more than what we think we are that's the funny part about the south node kind of deceiving and that uh it's showing a lot of our our developments our strengths often the things that we don't even know that we have in an unconscious way subconscious way the things that we already do gifts that we already have we just don't recognize it's out side of how we consciously think of oursel this is the strength that the South know so there such a fascinating subject because it's such a I mean it's such a subject you know the North and the South know it's just deeply rooted in Duality and I I just love that whole area of philosophy so I think uh next week we'll focus more specifically on the signs since I took this hour to pontificate um that the differences between the two just explaining more in depth what they mean and um why they are such a they're such an important part of the chart when it comes to the Legacy that we're going to leave behind because the kind of changes that we make are really um it's but what is Legacy it's karma What We Leave Behind how we touch others these are not forced things that we do it's it's more a function of how personally evolved how well did we he that call to something greater than what we are now and that's the Legacy that we get to leave behind there all right so I'm G to know it just feels more intimate sometimes I I'm more willing to make mistakes and a smaller audience and therefore take more risks when it comes to teaching so my Sagittarius North Node at that in action I think we know everything in Gemini at the South note but uh you know I like to say that uh Perfection is the enemy of good enough and that's what I'm aiming for in Sagittarius okay um we'll
