There is an opportunity to depart the Navy at 8 years. However, at the moment, I'm booked for 12. Who knows what will happen? I've got another four years to run before the 8-year break point. Um, who knows? It all hangs in the balance.

I like flying at the moment. I enjoy the job I'm doing and uh it's it's a great way to to go about life, I think. And it means you can have a career which obviously there are things like commerce and business that would be difficult, but a naval career is possible for you, isn't it?

Oh yes. I mean, uh, it's something that I've always wanted to do. Um, I've always wanted to fly and I've always wanted to go to sea. Um, so the two mixed helicopter aviation is is the way to go. And I mean this was before the Faulman's obviously was the most uh dramatic thing.

But was a lot of your training in fact to do that to fly and to fly from the sea? Was that in training often dangerous too? I mean, were there times when that was dangerous and tough?

Gosh, I can't remember half of half half the times that things that happened during training. It's been such a long time. However, um yes, I think there are one or two things that that uh I mean, one thinks, "Oops, perhaps I shouldn't have done that." And and perhaps, you know, in years to come, one will look back on them and say, "I learned from that."
