The Piggy franchise holds many mysteries. Starters are easy to uncover, but others not so much. We've never really talked in detail about the Insolence, nor its place of origin, and that's surprising because this will matter a lot in the future. And thanks to MiniToon answering just one simple question, we can now theorize the origin location of Theo and the Insolence.
The Insolence has always been part of the Piggy storyline from the very beginning, but us, the detective, learned about it really late, just after Book 2, Chapter 10, "The Temple," where Theo finally reveals himself and explains a lot of things about the Insolence to us. And while most people do agree that the Insolence should have been introduced way earlier, I actually disagree. The Insolence and its creatures have been introduced right at the end of the storyline in order to tease the next big plot inside the future, inside Piggy Intercity. Yes, a decade later, we can still find these mysterious eyes around locations. And while everyone knows that the Insolence will be a very powerful faction within Intercity, many of you may not know that we already know its weakness. Well, kind of.
Looking back on Book 2's storyline, we've heard a lot about the military moving up north to work on a cure because in Northern Evalia, there were a lot less infected and Insolence monsters. But why would that be the case? Well, most people would say it's because of the cold. Infected and Insolence creatures would be freezing, and they would be moving slower and slower if they marched to the freezing areas of the north. However, this theory is completely wrong. That's not the reason for the military's relocation up north. And in order to find the true reason, we just have to go back to the mentioned chapter and to Piggy Season 4, because here we can learn about a new location called the South Ruins.
In the ending of the mentioned chapter, we can see how Eddie was actually trying to investigate the Insolence and that he knew about the South Ruins. One of his books even talked about pictures with the Insolence eyes all over the South Ruins, and that if you look at them, you can hear voices telling you to go to the South Ruins. And he's not the only one, because his good old friend Finley actually went inside these ruins, and the main thing that caught his eyes was "orange eyes cover the place." And this is what we have to keep in mind. Throughout Piggy Book 2, some chapters did have hidden Insolence eyes, either one or two, or maybe at max three, but no more than that. However, Finley said that the South Ruins are filled with these orange eyes. And you can see how we're focusing a lot on the word "South Ruins." It all makes sense that the South Ruins are the place everyone is trying to avoid, and the Insolence tries to manipulate you to go inside those ruins.
The South Ruins are the place where the Insolence has most control of everything. That's where they can easily control any creature and any survivor. That's why the military has relocated up north to go as fast as possible from the main source of the Insolence. The South Ruins are the place where the Insolence was created, and it is now acting like the Insolence's home. But now that we know all of this, the main question is, have we ever seen the South Ruins before? Well, during an interview between MiniToon and a player called 99, this question was asked, and MiniToon's answer was yes. So, we have confirmation from the big boss that we have indeed seen these South Ruins before.
But when, where, and what map are they inside of? Well, I think today's theory might have just found the answer. There are a few aspects that we need to focus on in order to find the South Ruins. First of all, wherever these ruins are, they must have a really old style of builds, almost as if we would be going back to the Medieval Era. Second point, these ruins must have some sort of Insolence presence inside of them because we know that this is the origin place of Theo and the Insolence. And third point, the South Ruins need to be anywhere in the south of Daport and the North Sea because we know that the military used to be stationed all around Evalia and inside Lucella until relocating up north to Daport. So that means that none of these chapters can be the place where we've seen the South Ruins since they are in Northern Nalia.
So, with three main points that we have, which chapter can we theorize? Well, surprisingly, none from Book 1, nor from Book 2, because here we have to take a look at the Hunt map, because I've got a pretty big theory that the Hunt map is part of the South Ruins. MiniToon confirmed a long time ago that the teleportation in the past that Finley had done thanks to the time travel machine is not canon. However, the map itself is not only that, but this place looks really old and medieval, seeing the castles, their location being in the middle of a desert, and even the bot of the map. Checking the first point that proves our theory, and we can even see inside the Intercity logo that a desert location will exist, most probably where the Hunt map is located as well.
But that's not all, because the Hunt map also does have some Insolence presence inside. One of the rooms in the castle, we can see drawings with Mr. Stitchy and the Insolence eyes, and even some really creepy audio next to the bed, symbolizing how this place might have actually been where the Insolence originated from. Checking our second point to this theory, and we should also remember that this place is most probably in the center or in the south of the planet because deserts can't be located in the north part of the planet where it freezes a lot. So that means that this desert and the Hunt map are somewhere in the south or the center of the planet. Checking our third point to this theory.
But still, that might not be enough proof for us to confirm that the Hunt map is actually part of the South Ruins until we look at even more evidence. Theo, Theo has talked about his life in the past, sharing how he used to be a quiet child and how he made a friend that later on became his enemy, that being Mr. Stitchy. And well, all of this happened inside the Hunt map. There are drawings of Mr. Stitchy and another person in one of the rooms of this castle, how Mr. Stitchy appeared, then became friends with this child, and later on, they cut all connections with the child. This child being Theo, his story is the exact same one as the drawings and everything else that happened inside the Hunt map.
And because of all these reasons, I can theorize that the Hunt map is actually part of the South Ruins. This was the place where the Insolence originated from, where it was created, and where it has most power and control of everything around. And that's how we've just discovered the South Ruins, a really important location that will be inside Piggy Intercity. But what do you think about all of this?
