Welcome to part 29 of my rice cooker series. Steph and I love Indian food so much we catered it at our wedding dinner. And there's a local Indian spot we frequent that has the best chicken biryani. It's traditionally cooked in a pot, but you guys know I love my rice cooker, so here's my version.
If you've never had it, chicken biryani is marinated chicken and basmati rice, perfectly infused with bold spices. The chicken is also marinated in yogurt, which tenderizes the chicken and infuses it with flavor.
This is optional, but I love adding cashews and golden raisins to mine, which I know can be controversial, but it's so good. So, trust me on this one. We always eat the biryani with raita on the side, which is a yogurt based sauce mixed with some spices and cucumber.
