How's it going everyone? In the spirit of Christmas, today we're on a quest to find out the true birth date of Jesus Christ. When was Jesus really born? Was it December 25th like we celebrate today? Was it sometime in the spring as some people say? Or was it on a very peculiar day in the month of September?
In this video, we're going to dive head first into all of these possibilities to find out the true birth date of Jesus Christ. To help guide us on this journey, we will be listening to Robkea, Rabbi Jonathan Khan, Dr. Taylor Marshall, and Dr. Michael Heiser.
To start us off, let's take a close look at December 25th and see why many Christians believe Christmas Day is in fact the birthday of Jesus Christ. To explain this perspective, here is Dr. Taylor Marshall.
"How do we make a argument that Christ in fact was born on December 25th? Well, we have to go to the Gospel of St. Luke and we have to do a little bit of math and we focus first on John the Baptist, his birth and details surrounding his father who is St. Zachariah or St. Zachary. I'll refer to him as St. Zachary. So first off we read in Luke 1 verse 5 that St. Zachary served in the course of Abas. Now there were 24 courses or 24 groups in the Jewish priesthood twice a year about they their course would come up. So every 24 weeks it would turn over. So one course would serve for a week and then they would go home and then another course would sign in for duty and they would serve as priests and do the sacrifices and do the incense for a week and then after that week another course would come up. They'd go through the 24 courses and then it would start all over again. This is how it happened in antiquity all the way up until the time of Jesus Christ. So we learn that Ze St. Zachary is in the course of Abbyas and the course of Abby a served during the eighth week and the s 32nd week of the annual cycle. There's some scholarly research by a guy named Fry who noted that during the destruction of Jerusalem which was on the ninth day of the Jewish month of Abjarib was on duty. So since we have that date and we know which course JoJar ribb was on that week, we can then go back in time just following the backwards the courses and we can find out when each course would have been on duty all the way back for however far you want to go. And by using this calculation that Fried put together, this means that we know without a doubt that the priestly course of Abas, which is the one that St. Zachary belonged to the father of John the Baptist. We know that he was on duty during the second week of the Jewish month of Tish which is the very week of the day of atonement on the 10th of Tish. In our calendar the day of atonement is usually it lands because it's a lunar cycle. It lands between September 22nd and October 8th. So, we know for a fact that this is when John the Baptist's father would have been serving on the temple. That week, by the way, that week is again, I'm going to give you about September 22nd to October 8. Now, we read in Luke that when Zachary was in the temple, he had the vision of the angel and he went home to his elderly wife and they conceived a son in their old age. That son was John the Baptist. This means that if he finished up around September 22nd and he went home, that child would have been conceived around September 25th. Give him a day or two to get home, right? He and his wife have the nuptual embrace. They conceive a child about on September 25th. How long does it take for a woman to bear a child? 9 months. So move forward from September 22nd, 23rd, 24, 25 in that range 9 months. And where do you land? You land on late June. June 22nd, June 23rd, June 24, something like that. Well, the Catholic Church has always celebrated the lurggical birthday of John the Baptist when? June 24th. Exactly 9 months after when St. Zachary would have been on duty at the temple. Now, what's great about this is that the protoe evangelium of James, which is not scripture, it is apocryphal. Um, it says that St. Zachary was in fact serving the Holy of Holies during the day of atonement, which matches up with what we figured out with Fried's research. All right. So, how does this help us determine the birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ? Well, in Luke's gospel, we learn that the Virgin Mary, the blessed mother, went to visit St. Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, when Elizabeth had already been pregnant for six months. This means that, and this is right after the annunciation. So, this means that the age difference between John the Baptist and our Lord Jesus Christ is six months. John the Baptist is 6 months older than Jesus. We learned this from Luke 1:es 24-36. Okay? So if that's the case, all we have to do is add 6 months after the birthday of John the Baptist and we'll get the birthday of Jesus. The birthday of John the Baptist is June 24th or late June based on the research we have and with Luke's gospel. Add six months, boom, you get December 24th, December 25th, late December. And this is why the early church fathers and the popes claimed that the birthday of Jesus was December 25th."
Wow. I've always thought we've been celebrating it wrong, but have we as Christians been celebrating Christmas on the right day all this time? Well, not everyone agrees. Our next speaker believes Jesus was not born in December, but rather in the spring. To give us his thoughts, here is Rabbi Jonathan K.
"Was Jesus born on December 25th? No. Is that shock? No. Well, there we go, folks. You can all go home now. We don't have to worry about all those. We just wiped Christmas out. So, we'll yeah. Well, the f let's I mean well and let's do it I mean as if we were you know biblical detectives and we're here in the in the Holy Land. First of all in first clue Luke 2 it says and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in cloths laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the in the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields keeping watch over their flocks by night. That alone is a clue right there. So there is one time of the year that shepherds would especially be out with their flocks at night only when that's in the springtime. Why are they watching their flocks at all hours? Because shepherds during one particular time do that. It's when the sheeps give sheep give birth to lambs in that the lamming season. That's the only time. That's where they're watching at any time of day, any time of night. They're watching for any birth. That's the only time. And when would that happen? The lambs are not like people. They're only born at one time. Lambs are born in the springtime. That's the first thing. They're born in the springtime. It could start as early as as February, but it really would go March, April. That's the center. That's the Hebrew month of Nissan. We're going to also go through Nissan is that month. So, what a perfect thing to begin with because Jesus is the lamb of God. So, why would God have who would he have to greet the birth? Shepherds who are watching for the birth of the lamb. So, here that's so perfect of God. Messiah is the lamb of God and they're there greeting. That's what they're doing. And so, and where is he born? He's born in Bethlehem or Bethlehem. And the thing is that that Bethlehem, people don't know this because of some clues we have in the writings of the rabbis, was actually a place where the lambs that they had were actually the lambs for the temple sacrifice. Bethlehem especially was the lambs for the temple sacrifice. So here, what more perfect place and time? Messiah born at the time of the lambs when the sacrificial lambs are born in the place where they're born. Now, here's something else that is going to, you know, point to this period. And there's a clue in Exodus. Exodus 12 says, "Take a lamb, a male, one year old. It's the Passover lamb." And so, now you can read that and miss something. The the lamb that is the Passover lamb, and Jesus Yeshua is the Passover lamb, is is a year old at the time of Passover. So, it means it had to be born a year before in the springtime to be a year old. Mhm. So here Messiah, you know, so the Passover lamb dies on Passover. Messiah is the Passover lamb. He dies on Passover, but it's also born at the time of Passover. That's Nissan spring. So Messiah, if the lamb, the Passover lamb is born at the same time when it dies. So that's the next clue. And so the fir the next thing is the holy day. Next clue is the holy days of Israel. Every day, every time he fulfills a holy day, he doesn't just fulfill the time. It the theme of that day, he fulfills it. For instance, Passover, he dies as the Passover lamb. First fruits, he rises. So everything has to do with that. Is there any day on the Hebrew calendar that would match up with birth, new beginning, new everything. There is one day and it happens to be in Nissan. And the one day is Nissan 1, which is the very beginning of the Hebrew year. But now we're going to even go deeper. We're gonna go to the moon. Now, the Hebrew calendar is based on the moon, you know, and that's where we get the word month. month. So the moon and so when Jesus died, people don't realize this, he died at the full moon. When he died, it was a full moon. Why? Every Hebrew month begins with a new moon starts, right? It reaches its peak at the full moon. That's what it's called. The month is in its fullness. That's right in the middle. Jesus died on the Nissan 14:15, the middle, that's Passover. That's when the the moon had to be full. That day had to be full. And as a symbol, Nissan means the beginning. It's the month that means the beginning. The full moon means the be it's the it's the fulfillment of this beginning, this first coming. It's at the the fullness of it. So his whole life is leading up to this this this fullness, this moon. And so when would his life begin? If it if it fulfills at the full moon of Nissan, means the month of the beginning, first coming, it would begin on the new moon of that of Nissan, the very beginning of the and that's Nissan one. So this whole month there's a moon mystery behind this whole thing too. Every Hebrew calendar every year. But I want to go now to the stars. We went to the moon. Let's go to the stars. Okay. And to do the stars, we have to go to the people who are priests but not Jewish priests of the religion called Zoroastrianism which we know as the or the magus or the magi. The mad the strange magi or in Hebrew the magim. Now we know astrology is wrong bad have nothing to do with it. No Christian has any business but God is sovereign and that's what they know. They're looking in the star. Back then astrology and astronomy were basically the same. They believe there were signs but God is able to speak. So, so the thing is that what is this star now? There are people who said it's some you know conjunction. Well, the problem is no natural star is able to move across the thing. I mean it can move in the heavens with everything but it can't move and guide you to a place. So it is it is a supernatural thing. But what's happening is but what do we know about this star? you know that they're led to a manger and first of all say something else and you probably all know it but this is a misconception. You see them the nativity scenes and you see the magi there. The magi were never there. They were never there. The magi were two years later. Now do we have a clue when did this happen? Well it's we got we is Herod's alive and he says two years killed them when according to when he saw they saw the star. So Herod do we know when he died? Herod died four BC. So right away we know that Jesus was born BC. He wasn't born on the zero. We know that's a mistake. So then but it's two years before. So that's pointing us to six BC with the magi seeing something. Now here's another another clue here in the mystery. If the magi just saw a star in the sky, how would they know? How would they know that this is king of the Jews? Around in 6 BC, same time, we know there was something that happened. Anyone into the stars would have seen it. There was a convergence of Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mars, all converging to one part of the sky. One, they thought it was a star, but it was a a wandering star. It was a planet. One star was linked to the king. When you see and that was Jupiter when you saw that, that was the king star. When you or it was a planet, but then what does that do? How do you get Jews? They say where's the king? There's an ancient astronomer a Greek who or or says this in a book called tetra bibla says says there was in the land of Judea was linked to the constellation in the ancient world to Aries the ram that the ancient world when they saw that they they said Judea so this why is that significant what happened in 6 BC is that all these things converge and Jupiter it comes in this the picture big time things are happening with Jupiter and they all come to the place that's linked to Judea in the sky It's all linked to this thing Aries. So they're all they would look at this and say king. They would say Jew and they and here's the star something happens divine. So they would come from that that a king of the Jews has been born. Who is somebody beyond anything we've known. So they would come by that just by that be able to say where is he who was born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east. And modern astronomers have identified that such a conjunction happens only once every 6,000 years. So here it happens with this they come. When did this convergence happen? And again it's not about the magi. It's about that God is able to lead anyone who's seeking him. Yes. But when did this happen? It happened in 6 BC. When? In the springtime. Again in the springtime. But now the mystery gets bigger. Luke 1. It says in the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a priest named Zachcharias of the division of Abaya. And he had or Abijah, he had a wife in the daughters of Aaron. Her name was Elizabeth. It happened while he was performing his priestly service before God in the appointed order of division according to his custom. He was chosen by lot. And he went in. So we he went in to minister. Now we got a clue right there. This is the birth of John. His father is a priest. He's a kohanim from Aram. And he is he goes into he goes to minister. Now what we know right there is there was a set time when the priests would go in and they were divided up into courses. What his course was Abijah. So if we can find out when Abijah's course was we've got it you know we've nailed it. If you can find out because you okay he was there then six months later comes the birth of that comes the conception of Jesus. You got the whole thing. But the the trick is how can you find. Now? There's a calendar somewhere. Yes. Now yes you think there is one on there. There is one. Yeah, there is one. First of all, in second chron, in 1 Chronicles 24, we read about the divisions of the priests. So, we now know the order of when Abijah was in there. He was number eight. He was the eighth. It would go by weeks. One week, two week, he would be the eighth week in order. They'd rotate. They had 24 altogether. So, just know there you got eight. But you got you got to know. But the the key is the key is when does it begin? Because we can't tell when this happened until we know he's number eight. But we can't tell until we know when he began. Okay. The answer here, the clue comes from the Dead Sea Scrolls. There is a writing in one of the scrolls actually that contains a calendar of the priestly horses. And this is going to sound like Indiana Jones. Okay. In that Dead Sea Scroll, it says, "When the sun displays itself from the east and shines in the center of the sky at the base of the vault from evening to morning on the fourth day of the week of the sons of Gamul, the course of Gamul in the first month. It's the first year. You don't have to get any of it, but let me tell you what it's saying. It's saying that the priestly calendar begins at the at the equinox, the spring equinox, and it on a Wednesday, the fourth day of the equinox. Okay? So, that's all we have to get. Then, the Dead Sea Scroll gives you a few dates, and one of those dates matches this of when this would have been at the time we're talking about. There's one other thing of it and that is there is another ancient Hebrew writing that confirms that this is the they're giving you the right date and that's the Talmud because the Talmud says here's the clue Talmud writings of the rabbis say the temple of Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD was destroyed on a Sunday they said and they give you the name of the priests the courts who were in that that week so just by that you've got it and the thing is so the question is so if you take that and all you do is wind it back to the time of Jesus or take the other one by the Dead Sea Scrolls which is before Jesus' birth and wind it forward and see if they match. The first thing is they match the Dead Sea Scroll date and the the Talmud match. So we got it. Okay. So So now you're going to find is when did this date appear? When was Abai ministering at this time? And the and the ultimate thing is when you do this, if you do you work it all together, when does when does the birth of Messiah take place according to it? Ready? In the month of Nissan, late March, early April, 6 BC, the priestly calendar leads us to a very specific time and a date. It leads us to March 20th, 6 BC. And if you take the calendar of the priests in the desert, it leads us to the same date the as the Talma does, which is which happens on the Hebrew calendar is Nissan one, the day of the beginning of all things. the day that we said he would be born. Now, one other thing here, there's there there's a thing here that there was a early church. We went from there and now we're going to go into the hidden vaults of the Vatican. Okay? And in there, there is a writing of a church father called Hippolitis. And what he did is they use him and they say, "Hippolitis, he's the one who gave us December 20. He told us in the early days it's the 25th of December." But in one of the you look at the writings, it's been censored. You go, you look at his writing, he says in the same thing, no Messiah was born in the month of Nissan. This is an early church writing which was censored. There's even a document in the Vatican church. This is not, you know, crazy stuff. It's there which gives a document which gives gives Nissan as the date of Messiah's birth. But now I want to give you one more. It's going to bring it home. Okay. One more. Okay. What is the if you say what is the the most exact shadow of in the Old Testament of the birth or incarnation of Messiah? What would you say? And it's the tabernacle because it's God tabernacling with us. In fact, when you read John, the beginning of the Gospel of John, the word became flesh, that's the incarnation, and tabernacled among us. So, here it is. It's the Bible speaks about the tent tabernacle as being a sign of being in the flesh, being in being incarnation. The Bible is giving you the clue that the tabernacle is is the symbol of God dwelling with us. So here it is. Could it have a clue? The first thing to know when did the tab when was the tabernacle built? Right after they went to Sinai, Mount Si, all that stuff, God gives us built a tent. They start building a tent. Now, how long does it take for a child to be from conception to birth? How long? Nine months. Slightly less. Nine months. How long was it for the tabernacle from conception to finishing? Nine months. Nine months. The same. It was here. It is the same thing. It's right there. And so then the final thing is the Bible actually gives the date. If we can find out when the tabernacle was finished. If we can find the date, the tabernacle is finished. You've got it again. So now, here it is. So where is it? There's a scripture. The scripture is Exodus 40 1 and two, which says, "You shall raise up the tent of the tabernacle of the congregation." You'll put it there. The ark of the testimony when here it is in the original. The answer is in the first month, Nissan. On the first day of that month, Nissan 1. the exact day from the beginning. Everything points it the beginning on Nissan one springtime he was born."
That was incredible. Based off what the rabbi said, it seems like everything points to Jesus being born in the spring in the time of new beginnings, even the stars. But what if I told you that's not the only time of year the stars point to? In fact, they point to a very specific date that I think you'll be very familiar with. To give us their thoughts on why Jesus was born on September 11th, here is Robkea and Dr. Michael Heiser.
"I believe our savior was born on September 11th. I believe he was born and I know this is people have different views on this. Some say the feast of tabernacles. I have heard all the arguments. Mark Builts makes a really good case for that. Um, but I believe that he was born on the feast of trumpets mainly because of this verse right here. This verse is a stellar alignment. Revelation 12 1-5. And uh, it talks about a a woman arrayed with the sun, the moon at her feet, and the stars at her head and all that. This exact alignment happened on September 11th, 3 BC. And to explain that a little bit more, I got a little clip here from Dr. Michael Hyder talking about this. On your screen, you see a few things. is there's the sun and the moon and then there's a line. The line is called the ecliptic. This is a line that astronomers will draw to track the movement of the constellations. Here's a blowout of that with the constellation pictures imposed superimposed on the line. You notice the sun and the moon there. The sun is in the midst of the woman, the virgin Virgo. It's the only woman in the in the constellation. Okay, it's not an easy or not not a hard thing to figure out. Okay, and Virgo again there's different ways to understand the 12 stars around her head depending on which astronomer you know you would read that uh you can get 12 stars in this or that method. But again, she's the woman with the 12 stars, the virgin who is about to give birth. The sun is in her midst. It's Revelation 12. And the moon is at her feet. Here she is just alone. You'll notice above her head I've included I've let my astronomy program show Regulus and Jupiter. Now they are not mentioned in Revelation 12. But if you put the information in Revelation 12 into an astronomy program, this is produced. What's the big deal about Regulus and Jupiter? Jupiter was the king planet because it's the biggest one. Regulus was viewed as the king star because of its brightness. Okay, here they are overlapped. They are superimposed on each other. If you are one of these old ancient astronomy guys, that's going to draw your attention because both are associated with kingship. constellation Virgo is the only constellation that represents a woman. For 20 days, Virgo was clothed with the sun. But the exact day when the moon was under her feet at the same time, and by the way, when Regulus and Jupiter intersect, and this is the view over Jerusalem, by the way, that could only occur during an 80 minute period within those 20 days. Okay? Astronomy is linked to time. So, we can calculate. You'll notice I've put the stick figures in now for the constellation so you can see this a little better. We've got in the center there, that's Virgo. She doesn't look as attractive as a stick figure. Sun, moon at her feet. Jupiter and Regulus co-joined. And what is the constellation above Virgo? It's the lion. It's Leo. What does that mean to a Jew? The lion is the sign of what? The tribe of Judah. Okay, Judah. Regulus and and Jupiter are intersecting in Leo. You know what? I could I mean I can imagine the conversation between the mag. You know what what was that king? You know what tribe was he supposed to be from? Oh yeah. Yeah. Judah. And you notice below her feet in modern astronomy programs, we have two constellations. One is Libra, the other is Scorpio. In the ancient world, they were one constellation. And it was like a scorpion with pinchers. And scorpions were at times referred to as a dragon. But you have another option for the dragon that is hydra. Also located below Virgo. but off the ecliptic. So, astronomers and people who are into this kind of subject matter, you know, Jewish astronomy, would they have thought of Hydra as the the dragon under the woman's feet or would they have thought of Scorpio? Okay, the combination doesn't really matter. You got two choices. Okay, he's ready to devour the child when the child is born. Now, if you look at this picture, there are a number of of things going on here. There's the intersection of Regulus and Jupiter. It's in Leo, the lion of Judah. You have the woman, the sun in her midst, the moon at her feet. You got the 12 stars, of course, you know, all this stuff. You got the dragon. There's a small window of time when all of these things are present. And that time is 3 BC. And this is the part that freaks some people out. September 11th. September 11th, 3 BC is the window of time in which all of these things are present. September 11 3 BC date also corresponded, what a coincidence, to Roshana, Tish 1, New Year's Day for Jews and the day of trumpets. Tish 1 was also the New Year's Day of the civil calendar according to the calendar accepted in Judah during the divided monarchy. In other words, it marked the first day of the reign of every new Davidic king. What a coincidence. You can confirm this for yourself. There's some software called Stellarium you can download for free. Stellarium.org I believe is the website. And uh the interesting thing about the software though because the whole year there's no year zero scenario, the way they reckon 3BC is negative -2 in the software. So if you and if you really want to get technical with it, you can set your lo your viewing location in the software. So set your viewing location to uh Babylon. So that's where I believe the magi were when they saw the the sign. Uh so set your location to Babylon. B I I would suggest you back this the date off to about August 28th -2. August 28th -2. And then there's a there's an option for you to step forward so you can watch each day's advancement happen. And you'll see a really amazing dance of the stars that takes place that leads up to that alignment all coming together in perfect harmony for 80 minutes which I believe was a time period that Mary was probably in labor giving birth for 80 minutes on September 11th 3 BC. It's extraordinary. But the moon at her feet is the giveaway. The moon at her feet is a new moon which rules out tabernacles. tabernacles is is a full moon. So, um, and the other problem is a lot of people, one of the anecdotal references for tabernacles is, well, he came and tabernacled among us and all that. Well, that wouldn't work either because when a male is born, the woman has there seven days of uncleanliness where they have to be isolated in their time of uncleanness, you know, and all that. And then, of course, on the eighth day, he circumcised. Well, he couldn't have been tabernacling among us because he would have been away with Mary in her time of seven days of uncleanness. The other problem is that that's one of three feasts where the males all commanded by God to be in Jerusalem. Not a good way for the sinless lamb to lamb to enter the world in violation of the commandment with both his stepfather Joseph and him not in Jerusalem during that time because they're in Bethlehem. So, you know, just reading Revelation 12 and looking at Stellarium, that was a slam dunk for me. And then seeing the phase of the moon where you know what what phase of the moon is. I'm like and and that works out better because if he's born in trumpets uh which is also known as the day that kings are coordinated coordinated. So you know and I believe that the earthly feasts represent things that take place in heaven. So while heavenly trumpets are going off earthly trumpets are going off as the true king of kings and lord of lords is being born on the day that kings are being coronated. Uh and then you have the period of seven days. Then you have his eighth day circumcision. and you have day of atonement and then everything's good to go. Let's go to Jerusalem. And then they were able to legitimately tabernacle among everybody for the feast of tabernacles. But what a strategic thing for the enemy to do. Get us all to celebrate Christ the king. By the way, Christ is a generic word. Cyrus, pagan Cyrus, king is a was a messiah. It just means anointed one. Anointed one. Somebody who's anointed. There are a lot of Christs, right? So, when we're singing happy birthday to Christ the King born this day on December 25th, I'm raising my hand going, "Wait, who we talking about here?" We're talking about an anointed king, but we're not talking about Yeshua, the son of God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So, who are we singing to on December 25th then with a big felic symbol in our living room? That's what it is. And we have them set up in our churches and we we point to Jeremiah chapter 10 and then people say that's talking about idolatry. Well, hello. It says the people go out to the field, cut down a tree, stand it upright and deck it with silver and gold. They cut a tree, bring it home, deck it with silver and gold, and then bow down before it to lay presents. And then bow down before it to receive presents. Sure looks like idolatry to me. setting up as a centerpiece in your living room. And this is coming from a guy who loved Christmas."
Okay, now if that didn't blow your mind, I don't know what will. Each of our speakers had some very compelling points. Each of them connecting the dots, pointing to prophecy, but only one can be right. So, now I want you to tell me, what do you think? When was Jesus Christ born?
