This waiver wire is interesting because there's no big names, but there are a lot of minor injuries that actually kind of change the backup running backs that you want to be rostering. Of course, I'll talk about probably everybody that's going to be added in your league. You don't want to add everyone. There are just a few key names I would look at.
Starting off quarterbackwise, I owe y'all a massive apology. I need to take a massive L. Um, we looked at sportsbook projections, which had the Giants as the lowest scoring offense in the league this past week. I looked at the Malik Neighbors injury and went, you know what, Jackson Dart super excited about the future, but realistically this season, this Giants offense is still probably going to be pretty bad. And oh boy, was I wrong. Jackson Dart comes through, looks great. Obviously, Brian Dable has no idea what the hell he's doing, but Dart from a fantasy perspective now has back-to-back games with 20 plus fantasy points. It actually looks like he could be a viable streaming quarterback going into the future, especially knowing that you have so many teams with the week eight buy this week. I understand that some people are going to have to look at Dart and I will say it's going to be a tough match up against Philly, but against the same Philly defense just two weeks back, he scored almost 24 points. I currently have them in the quarterbacks that I want to stream based off matchups such as Jordan Love, Brock Party, and Matthew Stafford in my rest of season ranks.
Now, in the Eagles game for Jackson Dart, I don't really love any of the pickhams on the Giants side of things right now. But something that I do love is Saquon Barkley lower than 104 and a half total yards. Saquon Barkley is not at a single game this season with 100 rushing yards. And I'm sadly saying this to somebody who has Saquon Barkley on their own fantasy team.
The lock that we gave y'all on underdog early last week was Rashid Rice higher than 48 and a half receiving yards. That absolutely smashed. Now, y'all know I have Josh Jacobs as my running back, one on my fantasy team. So, Emanuel Wilson definitely is going to be a name that we have to keep our eyes on. Reason being is Josh Jacobs is dealing with the calf injury. It's the reason that he was actually a game time decision this past Sunday. Now, of course, you actually do end up seeing Josh Jacobs play and he was just fine. But you actually had Emanuel Wilson up to 26% of the carries for the Green Bay Packers this past week, which was a season high. And I'm not going to sit here and sell you on, oh my gosh, Jacob's going to miss time because if it happens, hell, my team's screwed. Pray to God it doesn't happen. But you have to be just monitoring the practice reports with Jacobs. And it looks like there's a small chance that he does miss time here. And if that were to be the case, obviously Emanuel Wilson's interesting. I have him right behind like the premium handcuffed running backs such as Tyler Algier, Tyrone Tracy, but ahead of some of the lesser handcuffed running backs where their current starting running backs before them are fully healthy.
Now, moving over to Devin Neil. So, Miller tears his ACL on Sunday and he's going to be out for the year, of course. So Devin Neil is now the handcuffed running back in New Orleans. This is a nice one for one pivot if you had Miller. Deon Neil was a great prospect. I don't want to say great. Poor choice of words. Not like he was a top athlete, but back in college at Kansas, he was just a true grinder. Like he's not going to be a running back that's phenomenal at anything, but he's a running back that can do a little bit of everything. Now, of course, I'll say that you're never starting him outside of a game in which you actually have Alvin Kamara missing. And if you believe the reports that Alvin Kamar has no shot to get traded and that he'll retire if he's traded, then obviously like he's just a handcuffed running back where you wouldn't be super excited knowing that you would need a Kamar injury. And even in that case, you would have a subpar talent stepping into a garbage offense. But I am still a little bit of a conspiracy theorist here where I do think that Alvin Kamara is possibly getting dealt this season. Maybe I'm just wish casting. So I'm going to put Devin Neil in my rankings ahead of the other running backs like Kyle Manungai just because I do think that there is the outside chance in which we see a trade with Kamara where there's no chance you see DeAndre Swift dealt.
And Kyle Manungai will be our next running back. He's right in that same range. He does come through and prove that he has some juice, right? He has a rushing touchdown. and he averages 6.2 yards per carry this past week. He has 13 carries, which is a careerhigh. Now, I I don't want to sit here and overstate this. He has a careerhigh with his carry rate, with his yards per carry, with his total fantasy points, but it's still most likely DeAndre Swift's backfield, but Cal Manungai is the clear handcuff running back where if anything were to occur to Swift, he steps in. The usage this past week though was mainly just due to the fact that this game was a blowout.
Now, Brashad Smith is actually back on the radar for an interesting handcuff pivot. Reason being is one, he has actually showed that he has the receiving chops. You had four targets, three targets, four targets, five targets over the past four weeks. And over the past four weeks, in every single game, he's had at least three receptions and 20 receiving yards. This past week against the Raiders, he had 14 carries on top of this. Now, are we going to sit here and say, "Oh my gosh, all of a sudden his workload's great." No. Um, just similar to Kyle Manungai, it was mainly due to the fact that this was a blowout. I think the status Patrick Mahomes played five drives in this game before he was just taken out because he had nothing to play for. The game was already over five drives in. That's going to allow Brashad Smith to go out there and actually show what he can do. Now, the one reason I'm bringing this up is Kareem Hunt did get injured in this game with his ankle. I can't really find many updates with the Kareem Hunt ankle injury right now. Obviously, I'll keep these rankings up to date for you on flockfantasy.com just in case we do get Kareem Hunt missing an extended period of time. You actually could see Kyle Manungai turn into the best waiverwire option out of this list. But if Kareem Hunt is healthy, then he's probably one of the last running backs I would look at here.
And then if we're going to talk about Devin Neil being somewhat interesting based off the idea of an Alvin Kamar trade, we do have to at least bring up Isaiah Davis based off the idea of a Bree Hall trade. I mean, at this point, the Jets are 0 and7. They're literally playing for nothing. Bree Hall's on the last year of his deal. I mean, this is one of my favorite quotes. Yeah, Bree Hall was asked how he stays positive with the Jets at 0 and seven. He says, "It's hard. We've been kind of in this for going on four years now being in this organization. You feel it from the fans. You feel it around the building. You feel it everywhere. You feel it as soon as you leave the locker room. At the end of the day, we all have something to play for. Whether it's family, whether it's a self-motivated thing. I feel like if you're not motivated to come to work every day and get better, play for your teammates, your coaches, play for your family, or even other reasons, then you shouldn't be in the league." So, Bruce Halls, he also posted on Instagram saying, "Free me." Dude does not sound like he's having a good time. Isaiah Davis would have some receiving upside if you were to get Bree Delt. We know he'd be out there on the field of four third downs. Am I going to sit here and overstate the true upside that he has? No. Because the holdup you're going to have here is it's ultimately the New York Jets offense where Bree Hall's not going to be productive. What makes us think that Isaiah Davis would be a top 12 running back if he got in this game?
Now, let's move over to the wide receivers. We're going to start off with Travis Hunter. Obviously, Travis Hunter would be the number one priority ad of any waiverwire this week if somehow he was out there. I'm assuming we're only talking to y'all playing in super casual 10 team formats. But Travis Hunter looks very good with a Brian Thomas injury. Now, I know some people that can't get Travis Hunter, which will be most of us, are going to go over and look at Parker Washington. And I'm just going to warn you, Chief, don't do it. I know we were making jokes in the live stream Sunday morning going, "Oh my gosh, Brian Thomas going down." Now you can actually have the wide receiver one Parker Washington doing something here. If Brian Thomas isn't exciting here with Trevor Lawrence, what the what do we think Parker Washington's going to do? I have him at wide receiver 60.
I have other wide receivers on this week's waiverwires more interesting options such as TZ Johnson because one Tes Johnson isn't on buy this week. you're at least going to get to see what he can do at week eight. And also, Mike Evans suffers a broken clavicle and is going to miss the majority of the rest of the season. Maybe Mike Evans is back for the real life playoffs, but it looks like you actually have TZ Johnson now stepping in to where they have no other option but to make him an every down player. You still don't have Chris Godwin healthy. Obviously, you can check out the site. You can see how far we moved up Godwin. See how far we moved up Ibuka. But with TZ Johnson, he had nine targets this past week. He's had back-to-back games with receiving touchdowns. And we know Mike Evans, he is going to work himself into being almost an every down player. Now, I do currently have him at wide receiver 59, so I'm not going to tell you to get like super excited for him. Like I have him right in the same range, just slightly behind a wide receiver like Troy Franklin.
Then going over and looking at Shamir DK, I know a lot of people are going to be excited because he comes through. He has the receiving touchdown and Tyler Lockett gets cut. So all of a sudden he's going to be playing more snaps. Calvin Ridley is injured, but ultimately it's a garbage offense and I don't want to play anybody in it at all. So don't pick him up.
Now, the player that I put in a waiverwire bid myself this week, which was only one player and then obviously the DST streamers, I put in a waiverwire bid for Gadson. The reason being is my tightening room is been frustrating all year. I have Dallas Gddard and I had TJ Hawinson. Then I cut T.J. Hawinson for Hunter Henry. That looked like it was a bad call. I could go back and try to pick up TJ. Hawinson off the waiverwire again, which honestly I'm actually going to put in a little backup big. If I don't get Gatsson, I'll pick up um TJ Hawinson. But um regardless, I actually have Gatson now ranked in the same tier as Dallas GD. I have him as my tight end 10 rest of season ranked alongside Dallas Gddard, Daltton Concade, Kyle Pittz, Travis Kelce. Now, realistically, I do think the floor is going to be much lower than the other tight ends in this tier, but I think the ceiling is damn high. I mean, obviously everybody, their mom's coming through and saying like, "Oh, he looks like Darren Waller out there." This is a massive player, a big-time athlete as well. He's 6'5, 243 lbs. Ran a 472, 40yard dash at the NFL combine. And he comes in, and we had shown y'all that chart from PFF last week in the Waverwire video with 75% of the snaps in week six. Threw him on the Waverwire video. He wasn't a super high priority. I didn't pick him up in my own league, but now after he comes in and plays even more snaps, is running a route on almost every single Justin Herbert dropback and more importantly is doing this with Quinton Johnston healthy in the game. Gatson's a big time upside play like 68 receiving yards two weeks back, 164 receiving yards this week. uh back-to-back games with seven receptions, running a route on essentially every Herbert drop back. I think he does have the upside where you could see this play out where he's a top five tight end rest of season. Of course, I'm not going to rank him at a ceiling right now. I'll rank him I mean about halfway between his floor and his ceiling case, but he's a tight end I would love to have on my bench personally and then I would start Dallas Gddard in week eight and see what Gatson does and maybe can trust him in week nine onwards.
Now, going over looking at the defensive streamers, um, I thought I was going to win my matchup this past week with the help of the Bears streaming option. Was a really strong play against the New Orleans Saints. I had a freaking play against the Cleveland Browns DST, which was uh, God help me. Um, this week, if we're looking at the best defense by far, it will be the Indianapolis Colts, which will be favored by over two touchdowns playing the Tennessee Titans. Colts by far and away the best play this week at defense. I'm assuming they're already rostered. I'm assuming the Patriots are already rostered in your league. And I'm assuming that the Philadelphia Eagles are already rostered as well. And the Kansas City Chiefs will already be rostered. I mean, the Commanders are going to have no Jaden Daniels this next week. So, the defense that I put a bid in for is actually the Atlanta Falcons. Does Atlanta have a great defense? No. Do they get to play against Tua in the collapsing Miami Dolphins? Yes, they do. Right now, Atlanta is favored by about seven and a half points in this game. The only offenses that project to score fewer points than the Miami Dolphins according to sports books today are the Titans, the Browns, and the Giants. So, I put my bid in for Atlanta and I think my secondary bid that I put in was actually for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they get to play against the New Orleans Saints.
