You have been given supernatural ability, not promised it, not pointed toward it as a future reward for sufficient consecration or years of spiritual growth. Given it at the new birth, the moment you became a new creation in Christ Jesus.
And the tragedy, the thing that Kenyon identified as the central failure of the modern church is that most believers who carry this supernatural ability have never activated it. They have accepted a version of Christianity so stripped of its actual power that they spend their entire Christian life living like weak, limited, natural human beings. When God deposited something in their recreated spirit at salvation that makes that description an insult to what the new birth actually produced.
2 Corinthians 5:17. "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away. Behold, all things are become new." New creature, not improved human, not reformed sinner, a new species, carrying the nature and life of God as a present reality in the recreated spirit.
2 Peter 1:4, "whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature." Partakers of the divine nature. Not admirers of it, not students of it, partakers, sharers, people who actually carry the nature of God himself as a present, internal, living reality.
And into that recreated spirit, the Holy Spirit himself came to take up permanent residence, not to visit, not to empower occasionally from the outside, to dwell. Romans 8:1. "But if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you." The spirit who raised a dead body out of a sealed tomb, is living inside you right now, not occasionally, permanently, not working from the outside, dwelling from within.
And Kenyon was precise about what this means. He wrote, "When the Holy Spirit comes into you, he comes full-fledged. He is the same mighty Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. He does not lay aside his glory and majesty and might when he enters you. He brings it all." Which means the ability he carried when he raised Jesus is the same ability he carried when he moved into your spirit at the new birth.
Ephesians 3:20. "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us." According to the power that worketh in us, not the power available somewhere outside of you. Not the power descending from heaven in special moments. The power working right now inside of you in the recreated spirit where God took up residence at salvation.
And then consider Mark 9:23. "All things are possible to him that believeth." All things, not most things, not things within natural possibility. All things possible to the believing one, to the new creation, to the born-again believer in whom the spirit of God now dwells. That is what you are. That is what you carry. That is the starting point.
And in this teaching, we are not just going to tell you what you possess. We are going to show you exactly how to activate it. Five specific practical steps drawn from E.W. Kenyon's "The Hidden Man of the Heart" that move supernatural ability from a theological fact in your mind into a governing reality in your daily life. Stay with us all the way through to the end because the steps build on each other. And the fifth one is the one most believers have never been taught.
The question is not whether you have supernatural ability. 2 Peter 1:4 settled that. Romans 8:11 settled that. Ephesians 3:20 settled that. The question is whether you have activated it. And that is exactly what we are about to show you.
Now let us establish with precision exactly what you possess as a new creation. Because activation begins with knowing. And knowing begins with the word, not with feelings, not with religious tradition, not with what you have observed in your own Christian experience. With the word.
1 Corinthians 1:30, "but of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption." Four things Christ has been made unto you. Present tense, already done, not four things you are working toward through spiritual effort. Four things that are already yours because you are in Christ Jesus.
Wisdom. Your starting point is not confusion. Christ who is the wisdom of God lives in your spirit, which means you have access to divine wisdom for every decision, every challenge, every situation you will ever face.
Righteousness. Your standing before the Father is the standing of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21. "For he hath made him to be sin for us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." The righteousness of God in him, in you.
Now sanctification. You have been set apart, separated unto God as a present reality through your union with Christ, not a process you are completing, a position you already occupy.
Redemption. You have been purchased back from the authority of darkness. Colossians 1:13. "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son." Delivered. Translated. Past tense, already done.
And beyond all of this, you have been given legal authority to use the name of Jesus. Matthew 28:18. "All authority has been given unto me in heaven and in earth." All authority in heaven and in earth invested in the name of Jesus.
And then verse 19, "go therefore take this authority, use it, operate under it." The body of Christ has been given power of attorney to use the name that holds all authority in heaven and earth.
John 14:13. "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the father may be glorified in the son." John 16:23. "Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you." The name used by the believer, backed by all authority in heaven and earth. This is not a formula. It is a legal instrument, and you have been given the right to use it.
Now, Kenyon pressed this with a statement that stopped most of his generation cold. He said, "What is that name worth? What authority is there behind it?" And the answer is everything. All authority in heaven and earth is invested in that name. And you have legal right as an heir of salvation, as a new creation, as a son or daughter of God to use it.
Now, here is where most believers have stopped short. They know these scriptures. They have heard this teaching, but the supernatural ability remains unactivated. The divine nature goes unexpressed. The resurrection power sits dormant. The name is used hesitantly, if at all.
And Kenyon identified the reason with surgical precision: sense knowledge. 1 John 2:16, "for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world." The lust of the flesh, what the body craves; the lust of the eyes, what the senses report; the pride of life, what human reasoning concludes. These are the three channels through which the world communicates with the natural man.
And the average believer, even the born-again believer, has been educated almost entirely through these three channels. From birth, through school, through the media, through every system of thought the world has built, everything they know, everything they believe, everything they accept as real has been filtered through the senses. And the senses cannot perceive the supernatural. They cannot feel the divine nature. They cannot measure the resurrection power. They cannot detect the authority that backs the name of Jesus.
So the believer who lives primarily from sense knowledge will always default to natural responses in supernatural situations. They will feel weak and respond as though they are weak, even though the spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is living in them. They will see an impossible situation and respond as though it is impossible, even though Mark 9:23 says all things are possible to the believing one.
The first obstacle to activating your supernatural ability is living from the wrong source: the senses instead of the spirit, the natural instead of the supernatural, what you can see instead of what God has said. And overcoming that obstacle is where the five steps begin.
Step one, renew your mind to what you actually are. Romans 12:2. "And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Transformed. The Greek word is *metamorphou*, a complete change of form driven by a change of inner reality. And the mechanism of that transformation is the renewing of the mind, not the renewing of the spirit. The spirit was already renewed at the new birth. The renewing of the mind, bringing the thinking faculties into alignment with what the recreated spirit already carries.
The unrenewed mind is the primary barrier between the supernatural ability in your spirit and its expression in your daily life. It has been educated by the senses for years. It has been trained to accept natural limitations as fixed realities. It has been conditioned to respond to circumstances with the instincts of the old man rather than the authority of the new creation. And it will remain that barrier until it is deliberately, consistently, systematically renewed with the word of God.
Ephesians 4:23. "and be renewed in the spirit of your mind." The spirit of your mind, the governing orientation of your thinking, the fundamental framework from which every thought is processed and every response is generated. That spirit of the mind must be renewed, transformed, brought into alignment with the new creation reality that was established at the new birth.
What does this look like practically? You deliberately, daily, consistently expose your mind to what the word says about who you are. Not casually, not occasionally, systematically. "I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I am a partaker of the divine nature. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. The spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me. All things are possible to me because I am a believing one." You speak these truths into your own hearing out loud daily until the mind that was trained by the senses begins to be retrained by the word. Until what was foreign becomes familiar, until what was familiar—the weakness, the limitation, the natural response—begins to feel foreign. That is mind renewal, and it is the foundation of supernatural activation.
Step two, feed the spirit through meditation on the word. Mind renewal addresses the mind. Meditation addresses the spirit. And the distinction matters because activating the supernatural requires both.
Joshua 1:8. "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein. For then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Meditate therein day and night. The Hebrew word for meditate here is *haga*—to mutter, to speak softly, to rehearse, to repeat. It describes a cow chewing its cud, eating, bringing it back, chewing again, extracting every particle of nourishment. Biblical meditation is not passive reflection. It is the active, vocal, sustained rehearsal of the word until it moves from the surface of your thinking into the governing center of your inner man.
Kenyon was precise about this. He wrote, "The word of God must become flesh in you, not information about God stored in the mind. The word itself becoming a living, present, governing reality in the spirit through the sustained practice of meditation until it drops from the head into the heart." And when the word drops into the spirit, something changes. What was once merely believed intellectually becomes conviction. The inner man operates from it. What was once a promise you were hoping would come true becomes a present reality you stand in. The supernatural ability that was deposited at the new birth and has been sitting in the spirit waiting to be accessed now has a channel, a developed spirit, a strengthened inner man, an inner man that is now loud enough, strong enough, developed enough to lead.
Proverbs 4:20-22. "My son, attend to my words. Incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes. Keep them in the midst of thine heart; for they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh." Life to those who find them, not those who read them occasionally, those who keep them in the midst of their heart through the sustained practice of meditation that moves the word from the page into the spirit. That is step two. And it is the feeding mechanism through which the supernatural becomes natural.
Step three, develop the inner man through stillness and communion. Kenyon writes in "The Hidden Man of the Heart," "Shut yourself in alone with your own spirit where the clamor of the world is shut out." And then he writes in "In His Presence," "One cannot spend an hour in conscious communion with the Father without carrying away the fragrance that fills the atmosphere."
The supernatural ability deposited in your spirit at the new birth does not express itself automatically. It is released through a developed inner man. And the inner man is developed through the consistent, deliberate, daily practice of stillness and communion with the Father.
Psalm 46:10. "Be still, and know that I am God." Be still and know. The knowing, the spirit consciousness, the inner awareness of who God is and what He has deposited in you comes through the stillness, not through more activity, not through more information, through the deliberate quieting of the outer world and the turning of your attention to the inner man where the spirit of God dwells.
1 Kings 19:12. Elijah had just witnessed wind and earthquake and fire. Spectacular, dramatic, overwhelming to the natural senses. And the Lord was not in any of it. And after the fire, a still small voice. The supernatural communicates on a frequency that requires stillness to access. The inner man speaks in a register that cannot compete with the noise of daily life. And the believer who never creates the conditions of stillness, who fills every available moment with the demands of the outer world, will consistently miss what the indwelling Spirit is communicating.
What does this look like practically? Every day, before the world gets the first word, you close the door. You turn off the phone. You sit in silence, and you turn your attention inward, away from your circumstances, away from your to-do list, toward the inner man, where the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is waiting to develop you, lead you, and express through you the supernatural ability He deposited at the new birth.
Jude verse 20. "But ye beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost." Building up. Every time you pray in the Spirit, in that stillness, you are adding strength to the inner man, another layer of sensitivity, another layer of capacity, another layer of the supernatural becoming accessible and natural. The spirit that has been built up through consistent daily stillness and communion is the spirit that does not panic in crisis, that does not bow to what the senses report, that has been developed through sustained practice into the dominant force God always intended the inner man to be.
Step four, use the name of Jesus with authority. This is perhaps the most direct activation step in this entire teaching, and it is the one most believers use hesitantly, if at all.
Philippians 2:9-11. "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Every knee, every name, everything in heaven, everything in earth, everything under the earth. There is no category of existence, spiritual, natural, or demonic, that is exempt from the authority of that name. And you have been given legal right to use it.
Mark 16:17. "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues." In my name, not in their own strength, not through their own spiritual attainment. In the name that holds all authority in heaven and earth. Peter at the beautiful gate did not pray for the lame man. He did not ask God if it was His will to heal. He spoke.
Acts 3:6. "Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." In the name, spoken with authority. And the man was healed instantly. That is not a privilege reserved for apostles. Mark 16:17 says, "These signs shall follow them that believe." Not them that are specially ordained, not them that have attained a certain level of spiritual maturity, them that believe. You are a believing one. The name belongs to you. The authority is yours.
And the fifth step will show you how to put all of this together in a daily lifestyle that keeps the supernatural activated and operational.
Step five, speak what you are until it governs what you do. This is the step most believers have never been taught, and it is the one that ties everything else together.
Romans 10:17. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Faith comes by hearing. Not faith comes by reading. Not faith comes by studying. By hearing, by the word entering the ears consistently, repeatedly, persistently until it builds a quality of faith in the spirit of the believer that becomes the governing reality of their daily life.
And here is the principle Kenyon identified that most of the church has never grasped: You are always the loudest voice in your own life. You hear yourself more than you hear anyone else. Every word you speak enters your own ears before it reaches anyone else's. And what you consistently hear yourself say, whether it aligns with the word or contradicts it, is what your inner man eventually accepts as governing reality.
Proverbs 18:21. "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." Not some death and some life. Death and life. The full weight of both possibilities is determined by the tongue, by what you consistently speak over your own life.
And Hebrews 4:14, "Let us hold fast our confession." Hold fast. The Greek word for confession here is *homologia*, literally to say the same thing. To say the same thing God says. To agree with heaven out loud. To make your mouth speak what the word has already declared. Consistently, persistently, in the face of every circumstance that contradicts it. This is not positive thinking. This is a spiritual law rooted in the nature of God himself. God spoke, and worlds came into existence.
Hebrews 11:3. "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." The visible universe was created by spoken words. And the principle that governed creation is the same principle that governs the faith life of the believer. What you consistently speak, what you consistently declare over your body, your family, your finances, your future becomes the framework of your experiential reality.
So what does this look like practically? Every morning, before the world speaks, before the circumstances report, before the enemy gets the first word, you open your mouth and you speak what God says you are. "I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. I am a partaker of the divine nature. The spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. All things are possible to me because I am a believing one." You speak these things out loud, deliberately into your own ears, over your body, over your family, over your circumstances, over every area where the senses have been reporting the opposite. And you do it consistently, not once, not occasionally when you remember, every day as a discipline, as a lifestyle, as the daily maintenance of the confession that keeps the supernatural activated and operational.
Because what happens when you do this consistently, when the word you are speaking becomes the word you are hearing day after day, morning after morning, is exactly what Romans 10:17 promises: faith comes. Not the struggling, straining, trying-to-believe faith of a believer who has never developed the inner man. The settled, quiet, unshakable faith of a spirit that has been fed, developed, and spoken into until the supernatural is no longer an occasional experience. It is a lifestyle.
Kenyon called this unconscious faith. Faith that has been built so deep into the inner man through consistent feeding and consistent confession that it operates automatically, without effort, without straining, without having to remind yourself to believe when the crisis hits. Because by the time the crisis hits, the word has already gone deep enough that the inner man leads from the supernatural as naturally as you breathe. That is what the five steps produce. And that is what activated supernatural ability looks like in daily life.
So what does activated supernatural ability actually look like in daily life? Because everything we have covered, the five steps, the scriptural foundation, the principles Kenyon identified, all of it must produce something practical and visible. Not just a theology you agree with, a life you are actually living.
Here is what it looks like. You wake up facing a medical diagnosis that says terminal. Most believers in that moment go into crisis mode. They feel the fear. They rehearse the report to everyone around them. They pray desperate, uncertain prayers, hoping God might intervene. But the believer who has activated their supernatural ability responds differently. They go to the word.
Isaiah 53:5. "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Were healed. Past tense. Already accomplished. Already purchased in the redemption of Christ.
1 Peter 2:24. "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." Ye were healed, not "ye will be healed if God wills it." Were healed. Legal fact, covenant right, present possession of the new creation. And the believer who has activated their supernatural ability does not beg God for what has already been provided. They stand on the word. They speak to the diagnosis in the name of Jesus. They release the supernatural ability deposited in their spirit at the new birth to enforce what the covenant has already purchased. "By His stripes, I am healed. In the name of Jesus, I speak to this body and I declare it aligns with the word of God. I enforce the healing that Christ already purchased. And I release the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead, who dwells in me, to quicken this mortal body according to Romans 8:1." That is not presumption. That is a new creation standing in their rights.
You are facing a financial crisis. Provision seems impossible. The numbers say bankruptcy. Most believers shrink back into natural reasoning, cutting expenses, making desperate plans, worrying through the night. But Philippians 4:19. "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." All your need according to His riches in glory, not according to your bank balance, not according to what the natural circumstances report, according to His riches in glory, which are inexhaustible, infinite, and fully available to the heir of salvation standing in covenant. And the believer who has activated their supernatural ability does not rehearse the lack. They declare the provision. "My God supplies all my need. In the name of Jesus, I release the ministering spirits assigned to my provision. And I stand on the covenant that cannot be broken."
You are facing spiritual oppression, fear gripping your mind, anxiety pressing on your spirit, darkness trying to overwhelm. 1 John 4:4. "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world." Greater is He that is in you. Not greater is He that is somewhere above you waiting to help. In you, right now. The greater One, the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead, living in your recreated spirit and making His divine ability available to you in every moment of every situation you will ever face. "In the name of Jesus, I bind every spirit of fear and anxiety. I declare the peace of God that passes all understanding over my mind. Greater is He that is in me, and I enforce that truth over every attack that comes against me." That is activated supernatural ability. That is the new creation taking their rights. That is what Kenyon was pointing toward. Not a theology you believe in theory, but a life you live in practice.
So here is your challenge starting today. Not a dramatic overhaul. Five decisions, one for each step, that together activate the supernatural ability already deposited in your recreated spirit.
Decision one: Renew your mind daily. Every morning before anything else, speak what the word says you are out loud into your own ears until the mind that was trained by the senses begins to be governed by the word.
Decision two: Meditate on the word. Take one verse, stay with it, speak it. Let it drop from the head into the spirit. Do this every day until the word becomes flesh in you. Not information you know, but conviction you live from.
Decision three: Create the conditions of stillness. Every day before the world gets the first word, close the door, turn off the phone, and give the inner man the space and the attention he needs to be heard. Pray in the Spirit. Build up the hidden man. Develop the inner man until the supernatural becomes natural.
Decision four: Use the name of Jesus with authority, not hesitantly, not hoping it might work, with the settled confidence of a believer who knows that every knee bows at that name in heaven, in earth, and under the earth, and who has been given legal right to use it.
Decision five: Speak what you are until it governs. Every day as a lifestyle, as the maintenance of the confession that keeps the supernatural activated and operational. Until what was once straining becomes natural. Until what was once occasional becomes automatic. Until the supernatural ability deposited in your recreated spirit at the new birth is no longer dormant but alive, active, governing.
Kenyon wrote with the clarity that only a lifetime of walking in this reality can produce. "I am convinced that before the Master returns, there will be groups of men and women who will recognize this and take their place and begin to show to the world a type of supernatural ability that will startle a sense knowledge ruled world." That group is not reserved for a future generation. It is available to every believer who will take these five steps seriously and walk in them consistently. It is available to you starting today.
Philippians 4:13. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Not "I hope to do all things." Not "I am trying to do all things." I can. Present tense, active voice. The declaration of a new creation who has activated what was deposited in them. Who is drawing on the ability of God himself. Who is no longer living beneath the identity the new birth established. That is you right now. A partaker of the divine nature, indwelt by the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead. Armed with the name that holds all authority in heaven and earth, backed by a covenant that cannot be broken, standing in a righteousness that cannot be revoked, a supernatural being in Christ. Stop living like you are not.
